[Q] Copilot typing autocorrect issues - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got my TF today and it's great so far. I installed a couple apps, Copilot being one of them. I've used it before on friend's Atrix and I like it, so I bought it.
It interacts weird with the TF while typing in an address. I wanted to put in "1900 S Creek" and got "1900 Ss Ccrcrecreecreek". Somethign weird with the Asus keyboard or auto-correct I assume since it seems to work fine with my friend's Atrix.

Yeah, looks like the Asus keyboard was the issue.

ive had this with copilot whilst using swype on desire, just change to deafult keyboard

that co pilot looks interesting....can you recommend it? I'm assuming that it's a cached version of us maps and that's how you don't need a data connection to use it?

That's exactly what it is. It requires like 2GB of space after you buy it to install. I don't know how updates and stuff work though (like if they are free or not). I'll probably grab it anyway because the thought of using a 10.1" screen as a gps is freaking awesome.

Mines just updated. Supports up to 5 fingers. Much better ten before. Also remote listen/webcam "creepy". But guess you can stream audio for movies now.
Dont tink its as smooth as splashtop. But i did buy this for my milestone, a long time ago.
This works over 3g. So this is best for me. Using my citrix for work over 3g to my tablet or desire.

This is the update i was waiting for because you can leave the app without it disconnecting
The new ui is also a nice change.
yeah this app kicks ass! I bought it for my droid when I first got it, and forgot about it. Tried it on my Transformer and its gorgeous! I bought this transformer/dock combo to replace my busted sreen laptop, and I am just leaving my laptop plugged in and on in a corner of my livingroom.
Some uses for it.
1: I stick an SD card into the laptop, got on phonemypc, downloaded the firmware update for my Transformer, took the SD card out, and updated my firmware!
2: I needed some .txt file and .pdf file ebooks to be converted into proper .epub ebook format. So I downloaded them via my PC using phonemypc, used the program I have and converted them, droppe them in my laptops dropbox folder, and voila! They were on my Transformer!
3: I also bluetooth connected my Transformer to my phone so I have constant internet on the Transformer on the go (Who needs a paid 3g plan specific for a tablet anyway?? Waste of money)
Anyways, at work, I pulled up phonemypc, logged in, and viewed the webcam with sound to spy on my dog!
I love this thing. Love it.
Typed out using my Asus Transformer Dock
is it something like removing too PC?IA m looking for something to able to remote into my PC and be able TP do things PC from remote using transformer ..is impossible with phonetics or do I need to be looking for something else?
This is a pretty awesome app. I like tier connection system in that it only goes through their servers if it cannot find the computer directly. Very responsive on my transformer.
Possibly reviving a dead thread here:
Has anyone tried this with the Transformer's keyboard dock?
Does the cursor / touch pad work?
How about keyboard shortcuts?

Anyone tried Navigon on Transformer?

I really loved Navigon on IOS so when it was announced that it has been updated for Honeycomb I broke down and spent $40. Well, not only do I get frequent force closes I also can not locate the Options menu. I just deleted and reinstalled it, waiting for all the downloads to finish. Has anyone been successful with Navigon on their Transformer?

Contact Navigon customer service and tell them the problems your having. They should give you a refund.

Google Maps require an internet connection to download the maps. Navigon stores all maps locally so you can use it anywhere you can get a GPS signal.

I bought CoPilot a while back for $5. Google Maps still beats the pants off it (not surprising, IMNSHO it's better still than my standalone Navigon), but I've got CoPilot installed as a backup for when i'm out of signal. Works just fine on the Transformer as well.

I can't always rely on a strong connection when I travel through rural areas, hence why I chose Navigon.

OOoooooh. I didn't even consider the option of having a fully downloaded app. It'd be cool if google would allow an app that we could pay for, for a fully downloaded app. Perhaps someone could hack the app to do this?

I don't know why Google hasn't thought/allowed that. There are hacks to pre-cache maps but they are cumbersome and don't always work well.
Cant get Navigon to work I get force closed when I start the app to bad I love it on my Nexus S
Does anyone try iGo in that resolution ?

Same here, I bought CoPilot for my Nexus One and find it work well on the TF.
I still prefer Google Map over it unless I need to use it.
I did try Google Map tile catching on the tablet and it work well.

I have motonav Nav N Go 8.4.2.11 running with resolution 800 x 480 only, so it only a portion of the screen, but it work good, and utilized the GPS well, I wish they have a xoom version coming soon.
I'll just second the Google Navigation. I tried it a couple of times and it worked great. It wasn't really a reason for me to buy the Tablet, just added value.
google maps is a completely different app.
for me, I use CoPilot live, IMO it's the best out there right now (even speaks street names!) that has full Canada and US Maps.
Google maps is good for taking a quick peek at where you are going. I only have my GPS on when I go cross border, so if I were to stream maps off google's servers over my 3G connection, I would get dry anal raped by my bill.
I'm also using copilot and so far it is great. My old TomTom is falling apart so I need a new gps anyway, so this will keeping me from buying another gadget. I've never seen a gps unit that is as fast as the TF is running copilot.

You can use the same receipt number and access code to authorize the TF as you did on your phone. That is how i was able to use it on both my Captivate and TF.
The amazon appstore has some kind of navigation app for free today. Might be worth checking out.

[Q] SwiftKey X keyboard

So I saw this post this morning on Engadget and it looks to be pretty awesome for the tablet world. But when i go to the market my TF is not compatible with this app. Nothing states in that post that it wont work, just says tablets running Android 2.X/3.X. Anyone able to download the apk from somewhere else??? I would really like to have this keyboard for typing on my TF!!! Thanks
http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/14/swiftkey-x-virtual-keyboard-launches-for-android-tablets-we-go/
I'm guessing SwiftKey forgot to tick the Transformer if they restricted the devices, no other reason as far as I know.
Hope they resolve it soon.
I have it running on mine but I downloaded it from the beta program site. The last version is smooth as butter.
"Update on tablet compatibility: We've worked out why Android Market says Xoom, Tab10.1 is incompatible with SK Tablet X - we're fixing now."
Swiftkey wrote that on twitter a few minutes ago, so hopefully its just a market issue.
Sweet, i hope it's a simple fix!!!!

its up!! just got it on my TF )
Really? I just restarted my Transformer to make sure. I cannot find it in the android market unless I use the browser to go to the Swiftkey site and then link to the market. When I try to install it says "App not found".
yI just got it as well. Had to get it through the markets website.

If you use the market from the website, you choose what device you wish to install it on. The it then automatically gets pushed to the selected device
I couldnt find it through the app store via my TF but i went to android market on the PC and found it. I bought it and i was able to see it in my apps on the TF where i was able to install it.
Also worth noting, and it is on sale for $1.99 for to first 48 hours. I'm typing on it now and it seems better than thumb keyboard. Way more accurate

If you have the Swiftkey VIP access you could download the APK of the beta. It expires on July 20th. I went to the VIP site and downloaded the beta and loved it. So I purchased the app on the market.
You could always buy it and get a refund within 15 minutes.
Go it, tried it, and eh.. Prediction is nice but the comfort, customization, and overall size and tweaks and stuff are MUCH better with Tablet Keyboard.

+1 it makes me love the tablet even more.
I still dont see it in the market place???
I use it on my Droid X and it feels great! But I'm using Thumb now on my TF and it's good... but I want to tray Swift to see if it's as good.
Also, does the TF support haptic feedback? Does it have the vibrating motor? I want it to vibrate when I type, it makes it so much easier!
Thanks!
I think the thing to bear in mind is that it brings up a spell check box when using the Transformer keyboard. That makes it unique and indispensable.

Buy it from there and install it onto your TF101 via the website.
And no, it doesn't have haptic feedback. The phone version does, this makes me wonder if its related to Honeycomb or hardware.
I prefer having it off anyways. It uses more battery when its enabled.
For everybody else, if you're going to buy this.. buy it now, it's returning to $4.99 after today.
What's in this version:
Improved compatibility with custom DPIs and larger phones
Fix Quick Period not sticking bug
Learn from SMS only shown on relevant devices
Only show haptic feedback option on relevant devices

CoPilot Gps FREE

Hi guys, just a heads up. Copilot gps navigation is free. You can download any country map for free BUT, there's always a BUT, full voice guided navigation costs you £19.99 in the UK. But hey, its for free. Might be of use to somebody.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alk.copilot.mapviewer&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5hbGsuY29waWxvdC5tYXB2aWV3ZXIiXQ..
HELL YESSS!!!!!!!
I bought the UK one on my iPhone for £19.99, and was pissed that when I switched to android im told I have to buy it again! , can happily live without voice as I use it on my motorcycle where I cant hear anything over the exhaust noise anyway!
Edit: still annoying its only 2D
i have just downloaded this but i get 3d view and turn by turn voice i havent paid is it a trial or something like that?

I don't think so mate. Its from the Play Store so it should be completely legitimate. I think you must've just encountered a bug or something that got you features that were supposed to be blocked.
Oh well, having read the reviews it sounds quite buggy in general. Waiting for the new Sygic...
Corrupt text inputs
Is it just my copy of it? On the Prime the text input does not work correctly and keeps adding or removing random letters. Cannot enter an email address easily and now have no idea what password was set.
Works well on the Xoom but not the prime.
Configuration issue
does someone know if there is a way to configure this app so the menu'es aren't so tiny?
i purchased copilot uk years ago on my G1 phone and for some reason its completely disappeared from my google account. so ive just gone ahead and grabbed a cracked copy.
its a good app but theres no way in hell im paying again

pfft, thats not right at all. cheeky bastards!
Yes, I would recommend finding a different navigator... I have the full version and it has a lot of bugs and their support basically sucks... Their solution to every bug report is that there is something wrong on my side and they want me to delete everything on my phone to fix their bugs....

Your dead right, i bought co pilot once, they totally screwed up my upgrade and then blamed me, the treated me like an idiot and took no responsability for they're software , wouldnt give me a refund, wouldn't let me migrate etc etc etc,
i urge you, all do not buy from this company
they are only money grabbers selling a bug ridden program, its almost as if they don't realise there are better alternatives out there,
i for one will never buy from them again, anyone else had similar experience with co pilot/dough pilot?

I bought this app for my Wm6.5 and had utterly terrible support, bad enough that I relish the opportunity to let everyone else know. They had this botched system where when you upgraded ROM you had to uninstall and deregister to be able to re-install. Needless to say the system failed and I had to jump through a million hoops to get them to give me a new activation code as if I was some kind of a criminal. Best avoided for sure.
sorry to dig up an old thread but I downloaded the free version of Copilot for my Galaxy Note running 4.1.2 Jellybean and the application doesnt open. It hangs on the splash screen and closes.
Anyone else experience this problem? Any fixes?

I tried that and it didnt work. I also tried a fresh install on my friends Galaxy S2 and he gets the same exact problem!
Unless there is an application or setting on the device causing it to crash? Ideally I don't want to hard reset my device.

Anybody using Waze Navigation?

Hi All,
Running Thunderstick Full Blown, love it.
Wondering if anybody else is running the Waze Navigation program? I just recently upgraded from 3.0.2 to the newest 3.2 version and it went totally screwy, I can't read the road names, all kinds of crap all over the map.
I'm wondering if anybody has the .apk for 3.0.2 that they could share w/me? I tried to restore my old one from titanium backup but keep getting an "uh oh no network connection" error message from the restored one, idk why.
Was thinking a clean install of the last working version I had would be a good idea.
Thank you!
EDIT: Found one online, still not working great, does anybody have just plain 3.0 ? I also don't entirely trust the file sharing sites and the files on them to be free of little nasties that want to take over my phone.
i used it for about a week when it first came out. too gimmicky and useless i thought.

I ended up finding an older version right on the Waze website. What I like about it is the real time updated info that comes from other drivers, like police on the road (or in hiding lol), traffic hazards, objects in the road, etc.
I think they have a great idea, just need to fix some fonts (or something). I use it for my daily commute where I know where I'm going and just want to know what's around me. I wouldn't use it for getting someplace new, I'll use google nav for that, it's more refined.
Thanks for the input.
Was using go launcher then thought why use.both as then use use more ram up. Just use stock and save ram. Most people forgot about ram and only think of storage.space.
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
Only the default launcher should stay in memory I thought so having a second launcher shouldn't use any extra. I use adw launcher ex now and I don't get any redraws as long as I don't enable landscape view.

If you are using another launcher and are rooted, you can delete rosie.apk and all the sense widgets from system/app

I tried it and then I noticed the screen was horrible...couldn't read any of the text like you said. Then about a couple of days later I reflashed my phone and when I did my "My Backup Pro" backup, I didn't backup WAZE. So, I redownloaded it and it seemed to work fine.
I think it is a pretty cool program....really haven't got much into it. I do like the "real time" updates. I was on the freeway and someone said there was a roadside incident...when I got to that area, it wasn't there and I was able to let others know.
