hi,
running the nexus s with stock rom 2.3.3 and i'm still getting a random reboot with PIN input.
anyone else with this problem or ideas to solve this problem?
thx
bernd
Hello all, I've recently installed Android 4 ICS on my HD2 using MAGLDR... Now what I get is random reboots mostly when doing quick "moves" or even in standby... Now I've seen several topics suggesting that the reception might be an issue. I've tested that with manual selection of the network but still I'm getting random reboots... Note that, till now that I've installed ICS on my HD2, it was clean with stock ROM and Radio on it..
Any clue??
Thx in advance!
try to reinstall all.. do a factory reset and do the wipe... if the issue persist i think its a problem with the rom and so you must wait for a next relase that fix that problem
Hi,
I'm having trouble with my Nexus S, and it might have started after installing Jelly Bean (though probably not). The phone is somtimes unable to connect to 3G, and sometimes unable to call/receive calls. More often not working than working, both of them. I tried factory resetting and I also tried my SIM card in another phone (and another SIM card in my phone), with the same result. Something must be wrong with my phone, the only question is if it is a software error or hardware error.
Anyone have any tips? Perhaps how to check if the radio hardware is working (some app perhaps?)? Any ideas on what else I might try? The phone has been working perfectly for more than a year, so it's really odd it suddenly has problems. Anyone had similar problems?
Thanks in advance!
1. Are your NS is rooted...??
2. did you try another JB Custom Rom..???
or
3. is it still working good when you downgrade to ICS or other ICS Custom ROM...???
Then, if thats way still have same result, its might be hardware problem.

I rooted it yesterday to be able to try custom roms (tried Cyanogenmod 9). Same problem. I then returned it to stock, which made it reflash everything, and still the same problem. I'm starting to believe it's a hardware error. Are there any diagnostic tools available to check the radio module?
Thanks for answering!

Well, just try a radio that's for your model, search for nexus s radios in xda you should be able to find a thread which has all The radios, and choose appropriately.
Xxx oops! accidentally beamed from my awesome NEXUS S! xxX
Maybe you have to get the correct access point name from your provider. If I do a clean flash I have to input it by hand as otherwise I cannot connect as well.

That may explain the data connection but not the calls.

Thanks everyone for all tips, help and suggestions! I ended up replacing my Nexus S (a... questionable reseller bought it for $120, maybe to use for spare parts for other phones becuase I told him about the problems I was having) with a used Galaxy Nexus. Must have been a hardware error.
Sorry for the late reply/checkback!
Hello I have a strange problem on my nexus s.
When I make a call all work fine but when I make a new call the microphone and the speaker didn't working.
And then when I reboot the phone all fix and after a one call all back.
I try to do full wipe and install CM rom and still the problem is here.
Maybe someone can help me with that?
Thanks!

I have the same problem. Did you fix that? I used CM10.2, CM11, and 4.4 AOSP not official rom. But nothing helps.
Try booting into safe mode and see if what happens.

I have the same Problem with my phone .
Reboot fixes everything but then after one or two calls i cant hear anything at all .
I tried flashing many roms even the official rom
Did u find any solution ??
even with safe mode i have the same issue
It is a OS issue since the mic is working fine in Skype or other similar apps.
Google couldn't find a solution for it yet... https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/2eVRjUXPS-A

In my case Nexus S (from AT&T - 9020A) KitKat (4.1.2) I had to overwrite radio driver with Radio KD1 version
I have tried multiple versions from here:

Hello, I rooted my Nexus 4 as a school course work but encountered a problem that I can't find a fix for. My problem is that when I try to flash a zip file for any kernel, it seems to install it successfully but when the phone reboots, nothing seems to have changed in exception to the screen tearing. What am I doing wrong or not doing?
