You're ignoring one important aspect; file sizes.
Spec-wise, I think most dual-core Droids can.
But, the both XBOX and PS2 use a DVD for their games, which means the game can easily exceed 2 Gigs.

Not really. Because you need a high speed SD Card to do the job.
(A Class10 can barely do the job)

Hardware yes
Software i think no/yes
This means our hardware is good enough but i think with Android an so on its not strong enough any more ;-)

If the app its well coded it won't matter what's what speed the SD card is it's not a disc that needs to keep scanning and reading.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
Hmm, so it seems that the only argument against second Gen emulators is the sd card speed. But is the hardware really powerful enough too handle it?
Also I read something about software, could the current android software really prevent an emulator off this nature from happening?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I haven't checked in a while, but is there even an Xbox emulator on PCs? From what I remember, there was at most a halo port that could only play the first level. Poorly.
There is a good open source PS2 emulator though, so maybe we'll see it coming to Android eventually. If the hardware really can handle it.

+1 this phone looks ridiculous. I just hope it feels better than the thunderbolt.
LG typically makes mediocre phones at best, at least in my experience.
According to most of the reports this thing is insanely fast. I for one am picking one up plus its running stock android and so far all the "g" series phones have large development communities.

this phone has been widely anticipated and score higher benchmarks than the Galaxy S II so I'm sure it'll have a large following and therefore more development. As for the screen, the only thing I know is that its a 4" WVGA. Some other features include:
-1080p HD 8MP camera
-1.3MP FFC
-Camera Flash
-FM Radio
-4G Speeds
-Dual core Nvidia Tegra 1GHz
-DTS Ultra Mobile
-8GB of internal memory

not sure to be honest, but if you use Vplayer, you should'nt have an issue playing almost anything.
All the negativity aside...
Has this phone become the perfect phone for everybody?
With Stock 2.3.3 working great with every feature, rooted stock roms, easy to flash any roms, has the g2x finally become the phone we always thought it would be?
There may be some people who always thought this was the best phone out but can we finally say it without a shadow of a doubt?
I may be biased but this is a pretty damn good phone.

All it needs is 16-32gb internal storage and maybe 1gb of ram and it would have been future proof for a lonnnnnnnng time. Still it is a great phone just released too early.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
I agree on the ram part for sure....
I would have been set for a long time. The internal storage doesn't bother me so much with micro SD cards dropping in price. A 32GB card shouldn't be too expensive soon or now for that matter.
Sent from my LG-P999
Honestly I would have been ok too with the g2x had it not been for the partitioning of internal storage, it's confusing and not needed when most people already own 16 or 32gb external sdcards and prefer installing everything to internal.
For some people 1gb is more than enough for apps/games, but with the market allowing dev's to increase the size of its product 1gb of internal is not enough and gets used up very quickly!
Can't really complain about anything else cuz this phone is beast!

It comes standard with apps2sd. Most apps can be moved to sd so just do that and free up the 1gb internal. With apps2sd capability I think 1gb for apps is more than generous.

+1 some people don't understand how Linux handles memory.
Vibrant+MIUI -> G2X
It's a great phone IF it's rooted or lucky enough to be bug free on stock. The general consumer might not be into rooting, and that bugged-launch debacle hit the phone's reputation hard. Also, I'm curious whether LG's failure to make some drivers open will be a big problem for devastating or just an annoyance (I'm not a dev, so I honestly don't know how big a problem it is).
Having said that, I think my rooted G2x is a great phone. Running Eagles Blood on it now, might switch to Weapons soon just for ****s and giggles. And might throw this Nexus S on eBay to go G2x full time.

No, some people just like having as many apps or games installed as they prefer without running low on ram and lagging.
Not everyone is fine with just installing 5-10 apps, I and plenty others DO understand how Linux uses memory. Coming from the mt4g 768mb-1gb ram is the sweet spot IMHO.

Please explain how simply installing more apps on your phone uses more RAM (significantly more, not just because the launcher has to maintain a KB or two more data or something similar).
Because a lot of apps still run in the backround (even if your using a taskkiller, they will just turn back on thus consuming ram, and that's also just how linux uses it's ram) With me installing all apps/games i usually have around 50-60mb free ram which is still enough and i don't experience much lag if any, but i do plan on buying and installing more apps/games thus the reason 768-1gb ram is more preferable in the long run.

I don't know, mine wasn't rooted and worked just awesome. Smooth, no lag, no bugs. I've just recently rooted it, but no roms just yet. Still trying to decide which I want, lol. I haven't heard many bug reports since GB came out. But it is a shame the bad rep it got before. A friend of mine got it when it first came out...i've yet to convince him it's worth getting now. Gotta try to get him to actually test it out, lol.
I know we have the more battery efficient (and in a lot of areas more powerful) chipset, but everytime I look at those Tegra only games I get jealous. I mean is there a possibility our chipset will be able to produce the same quality of graphics when these games are released for the Tegra devices? I would hate to have to trade up over something so trivial, but I really like to game.
I'm thinking that the battery life can be greatly improved on the Tegra devices with custom ROMs and Kernels. I mean the new Nexus tab has a Tegra, so it must be a reliable piece.
Thoughts?

Out phone was the first phone with the S4, you need to give developers the time.
A TON of phones, including the Stateside Galaxy S III will be having the same chipset/gpu as ours, and developers will not want to miss out on such a huge population.

Hey guys and girls, I've been contemplating this for a few days now, after the google keynote that nexus 7 has caught my eye. As it has many other people on this forum. I really want to pre order it, my main interest in the device is its gaming potential. Should I sell my galaxy note to buy this device? It would replace my note for the things I use it for, which are gaming and web browsing in the house. I also have an iPad 2 which is good for gaming but it's too darn big for N.O.V.A 3 ect.
Ps the reason I can't just buy it is because I have no cash.

The Nexus 7 is a great tablet with better cpu and gpu than the note but if you use it for large graphically strong games you could find its lack of sd card slot a problem as a lot of high end games can use four or five hundred megabytes of data and so a collection of them could use up eight gig which is the lower priced model.

I know someone doing the same so yes, it would be a trade up to bigger screen better processor and of course nfc. For games its much better as it can use tegra 3 optimised games, but also it will be a better experience on a bigger screen when gaming than on the note.

exactly its a dual core go in reality isn't the galaxy faster with its quad Core? I don't care about resoultion I Care about Power and speed which ;g why I bought the galaxy note 2
Well,
more cores doesn't directly means that it has to be faster 100%. Apps need to be coded properly so they are scaling good with more cores, and I think all you will get is just more points in some Benchmarks, thats all.

Actually its dual core is better than a quad-core cause it has a different architecture, for overall smoothness I will suggest you the nexus 10 but for gaming I wouldnt go for this cause the resolution will kill all the performance in games(cause the gpu is not good enough) and expect poor support for tablet on android.
If you really care about gaming I suggest you an iPad 4 as it has great and more optimised games plus it also has the best gpu on any portable devices such tablets and smartphones.

FWIW, the versatility of the TF700 w/ the keyboard dock is very unique. It has replaced my laptop for sure. But, out-of-the-box performance was lacking. However, there are some excellent devs on here for it, which have negated any lag/performance issues.
