When I boot into TWRP recovery, it prompts me for a password. The start-up password for my phone doesn't work. Does anyone know the default password? Thanks!
TWRP has passwords? By default it doesn't have a password just reflash the recovery to see if it will prompt you for a password.

Yes it opens but most functions "fail" error without the password. I've tried reflashing and still get the same result. The unlock password for my phone gets an "incorrect password" response. Any other ideas? Thanks!

I found some info on "why the password pop up" is due to something you flashed (rom/kernel)? that alter the partition on your sdcard or internal, which caused TWrP failed to read the data. I would recommend that you remove your sdcard then try to boot into twrp, if the issue still existed, then you may need to do a full backup, wipe data, and reflash your O/S. If anyone has any info feel free to chime in...
Cannot wipe "/Data" & "/Dalvik" and TWRP is asking for Password [Solved]
Hey Guys!
So a few days ago i decided to install and try out the ubuntu touch. My Android OS was the newest CM-11 Nightly edition of the TF700t , but because it was not compatible with dual boot I wiped it out. Then I done everything as it was ordered and finally i had may Touch and my "TF700T_CROMBi-kk_RC2 KitKat-4.4.4rc2-CM11-D". Everything was perfect and there was no problem , then I wiped out the whole thing , because I dosen't liked the touch (from the beginning it was just about trying it out) and reinstalled the "TF700T_CROMBi-kk_RC2 KitKat-4.4.4rc2-CM11-D". For like a day there was no problem at all , then i turned off the tablet (before this shutdown there was like 3-4 restart) and when I turned it back 9 hours later the OS just restated it self when I tried to enter. The TWRP is asked for a password (I didn't setup any kind of security for my TWRP) so it was kinda odd. When I tried to restore my backup it's was a fail , also when I tried to wipe out the system "failed" , because the recovery system was unable to wipe the "/dalvik" and "/data" and neither can mount the "/data". I tried to update the TWRP via fastboot but my PC stays at "waiting for device". I appreciate any kind of suggestion and help , pls guys help I'm out of ideas .
TWRP version: 2.6.3.2
TWRP asks for a password if it can't read the file system on /data and so it assumes it's encrypted.
Sounds as if you corrupted your data partition somewhere in this. Try to format data (not wipe) in TWRP. This would erase all your data on the tablet, but you got that backed up anyway, right?
I swear to god that I tried this too , but it's worked. Thanks for the help.
Hi everybody!
I'm hungarian and my english not so good, sorry for that. I have a samsung galaxy young (gt-s6310n) and I have a problem with it.
I installed chainfier3d on my pone (its rooted), but after restart just this text appeared: "Samsung galaxy young gt-s6310" and nothing else. The samsung logo didn't appear.
I tried to fix it somehow: I flashed a rom, but nothing changed. Then I tried an other rom (Inspire Holo). When the phone rebooted, appeard the booting logo, but it just was booting. I read, that it can stuck in a boot loop after flashing this rom, for this reason I tried to flash it again. In cwm recovery I went to "mount and storage", then I clicked on format /system, /data and /cache. Then I select "wipe data/factory reset", "wipe cache partition", "wipe dalvik chache". Then I re-flashed the rom. But unfortunately after reboot system the cwm recovery appears, and the phone isnt boot.... I tried to flash the rom again, but the recovery comes back :/
I use Odin3 v3.07 and ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.3.2
Can someone help me, to fix it?

Thank you very much, it worked!
Hi everyone,
I tried flashing Android 7 on my Xperia Z3 and now, when I get past the SIM Pin, it says: "Encryption Unsuccessful". I tried to do a factory reset in my recovery (cyanogenmod) and get the error "failed to mount /data". Also, my device doesn't get recognized in the flashtool.
Help would be appreciated.
If you can access fastboot flash the Twrp recovery and then flash a stock rom not a custom Aosp based rom . I hope this helps
No matter what I do, no matter the process I try or how many times I start over, when I boot to recovery it asks for a password. I haven't set a password. I've reinstalled the recovery. I've formatted and started over. Everything goes well until a few days later and I boot into recovery and there it is again! Password! Uggghhhh what am I doing wrong???
So you can't access twrp at all? you get to password and that's it?
what twrp u using? u can ignore it, in twrp perform "format data", then reboot recovery to see if the password gone!

Are you running on stock os or custom os
If you are coming from stock to custom you need decrypt the phone or install encryption supported rom & recovery
