[Q] Coredroid V6.2 issues...and pretty much other ROMS - HTC Inspire 4G

Hello everyone...
I am new to the Android...yet another blackberry and Iphone convert...
I have a fully rooted Inspire, currently running CyanogenMod 7.03, which runs just fine for me. The problem I am having is that I never want to stick to anything that I can change....so I am always looking for newer roms etc. I have tried to install LeeDroid (unsure of exact version but it was posted the other day) and have attempted to install Coredroid V6.2. The problem is each time the ROM has apparently been installed, the phone is stuck on the white HTC screen for good. I have waited up to 30 minutes for each ROM to boot, to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated......also...to any devs..I have several web sites that have very little bandwidth if you want to use their FTP servers..(free of charge, of course) I have 2 terabyte per month bandwidth on each of the seven FTP servers. Send me a PM or just post here.
Thanks,
Don
Here is what I am currently running:
Rom Manager Premium V4.2.0.2 with CWM V3.0.2.6 (have rolled back to other versions, no luck.)
Current ROM CyanogenMod 7.0.3 with no extras
Baseband 12.39a.60.19P_26.06.06.30_M

Make sure you do a data and cache wipe every time you switch roms unless you are updating cm nightlies. And don't use rom manager for downloading and flashing. Do it manually for best results. Things get buggy when you get lazy.

I have cleared everything each time...this is bugging me lol. I tried a CM nightly last night, same deal. Thanks for the response, though.

Resolved....I think.
Since I was unable to install the rom from within Rom Manager, I went to trusty ol' droid explorer and selected install rom from the tools menu. This changed the rom name from coredroidxxxx.zip to update.zip. From there, it gave me the option to reboot into recovery, reboot and install or save for later. I selected reboot and install, and it locked up with a white triangle and exclamation point....
From here, I was able to reboot into CWM and clear data and davlik cache and installed update.zip without a problem.
Thanks!

Glad ya got it working.

Me too...now to flash a leedroid and see if I like it...

[Q] BAMF 1.6.3 remix issues

I have flashed this several times and every time, I do not get the 6 bar signal meter. I lose the history icons between "verizon wireless" and "ongoing" when I swipe down on the notification tab.
Thanks, for any help.
Did you flash it using Rom Manager? I had the same thing happen to me from using rom manager. I used RM to boot into recovery then applied the zip from there. And it workd perfect. Try and do it like that and see if that helps.
Did you still download through RM? Thanks.
No you download it manually through your phone or on PC and transfer it to the SD card and then flash it in recovery.
Do I rename the file or anything special?

I also recommend flashing via recovery; it solved identical issues for me. As for the name, there's no need to rename the zip file provided that you're using recovery - it let's you navigate the sdcard file structure to locate your file. Just be sure to do a full wipe of data, cache, and dalvick before flashing (and backup your phone prior to that, of course).

Did you have to do anything special, or just reinstalled it?
+1 on ROM manager. Every time I have flashed using it, it has only had partial features.

Good to know. I've heard a lot of people saying that, but have yet to see any issues myself. I suppose I should stop using it for now just to be on the safe side. Glad you got everything working.
I am guessing this applies to the NTE version also. Standard rename to P05 and flash in hboot or install via rom manager? (and what about that radio they were pushing in the thread?)
I didn't rename just booted into recovery and flashed it through there, I also was missing features when I flashed Liquid Roms but now that I know how else to get them, I will be trying out the new GBs soon
i will never use rom manager to install again after it screwed up big time the other day but im currently running remix with no problems.

[Q] Help flashing CM7

I have tried to flash CM7 and i keep getting the status 7 error. i have tried to look around and find a solution but cant find a definite answer. I have completely wiped everything using full wipe and tried to flash it. I am currently running leedroid. I have tried to flash coredroid but it sticks on the boot screen. Am i doing anything wrong?
Need more info. Like are u using Rom manager to flash or what?

Are you using clockwork to flash? If so badge sure you unplug your usb cable before booting into recovery.I've seen that cause issues before.

If you are wiping everything what version of CWM are you using?
i am using Rom manager with CWM 3.0.2.5. I do no have it plugged in to anything and i have wiped everthing thing. the version of CM7 i am using is encore the stable mod
I would update CWM to newest and then try again.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I would recommend downloading the zip file for cm7. If u already have, delete it and redownload it. Place it on your SD card and make sure you eject the media from windows before physically removing it to avoid corruption. Boot into recovery, wipe, install from zip, and reboot

I have the latest cwm i just flashed it and it didnt upgrade. Ill try the redownloading again but ive done that a few times already ive even tried a nightly mod to see if that would work. It almost seems as if leesdroid is the only one i can get to work

CWM should be 3.0.0.8

i noticed yesterday when i was trying to redownload the cyanogen mod that when i went in for the inspire there werent any downloads i had to click on stable in the top left and i downloaded the first one. does anyone have the exact file i need to dl just to make sure im dling the correct one?
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=ace
The Inspire 4G/Desire HD is code named Ace.
There are download links to the stable builds and the nightly builds.
IMHO though the nightly builds have always been relatively stable.
Check out the DHD development thread.

[Q] HTC Inspire issue with rebooting itself and Mic issue

Hi Every one,
I'm new here, I have a HTC Inspire 4G which I have root it and now I installed Cyanogenmod 2.3.4, but I have couple of issues with this Rom, I'm wondering if any one else having the same issue or not.
1. some times it shut down itself without any notice and when I turn it back on, while is in process of mounting the SD card, it shut down itself again and some times I have to do this 3-4 times to turn it back on.
2. people are telling me that they can't hear me and it seems that my Mic is shuting down.
3. while I'm in good coverage area suddenly it looses all the signal and I have call drop.
I don't think that I can send it to HTC as is rooted and warranty is voided.
any help is appreciated.
A few questions for you:
1. What root process did you use?
2. What cyanogen are you using? The rc1 or a nightly?
3. Did you wipe before you flashed cm?
4. Did you install a custom kernel?
5. Did you flash anything in conjuction with the rom?
My suggestion would be to redownload the rom and check the md5 checksum to be sure it was a good download. Then back up your Apps with titanium backup. Do a nandroid, then a complete wipe
And reflash the rom. After the phone is fully rebooted, reboot again and see if problems are still there. Don't flash anything but the rom until you have rebooted twice.
Im using RC1, download it from clockworkmod

Try booting into recovery. Wipe and then flash fro? There instead of going through rom manager.

GRRR! Tbolt won't boot with any roms I try to install

My wife's phone is rooted and has been running BAMF for a long time. Well, it's slow as nuts right now and she asked me to redo it. I've been using Jellyblur on my phone, she liked it, and asked that i install that. Well, i can't for the life of me get the phone to boot with a new rom. Multiple downloads, and even downloaded about 3 different roms and it won't get past the white HTC screen.
I can reload my backup I made and it will start up just fine, but it just DOES NOT want to boot with a new rom.
I'm doing full wipes and I even copied the file I installed on my phone to her phone and tried installing that. No go.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

You likely need to update the Recovery.
I'm guessing it has some older form of Clockwork Mod Recovery on it.
You should update to 4ext.
That link is the app that you use as an interface for while in Android OS and it also installs the Recovery.
Install it while in Bamf, load the app and install recovery for HTC Thunderbolt.
Then try updating the rom, good luck!
If you end up liking it, support the dev and buy the full version of the controller app.
The recovery is free and so is the app I linked you however...
Recovery was indeed out of date. Thanks a million ..wouldn't have thought of that!

[Q] Upgrade CyanogenMod 10.1 with goo.im not working

Hello Everyone,
Im new to this forum as a poster, I do have read quite a few tutorials on here on how to unlock/root/s-off my device but now Im stuck again and can't seem to find a solution.
I have a HTC Sensation Z710e and I'm running CyanogenMod 10.1-20130309-Albinoman887-pyramid. Now whenever I watch a movie I there are no troubles BUT when I scroll in the movie or pause it or whatever I get an error. I looked it up and found out my version is an unstable one. So a friend of mine explained to me I could update via Goo.im, and here's the problem. It says there are no updates for my device even though that friend of mine updated to 10.1-20130601-Albinoman887-pyramid in the same way.
I did get a message like 2 weeks ago there was an update available for my device but when I clicked the notice nothing happened.
Now my biggest question is, is there some way I can download an update zip in stead of the 10.1-20130601-Albinoman887-pyramid Rom and have to start all over again with all my apps, or am I just ****ed and need to start backupping what I want to backup and start over again?
Thx for any and all insights,
Marius
well if the rom is just an update from the same rom, get it from another repo (download it from your phone or pc) and flash it with TWRP/CWM
It should work, I've done many rom upgrades without wiping my system.

So you're saying I should just "install from sdcard" with my 4EXT and it will not wipe all my settings? Even though its a completely "new" ROM but just an update of the one I have right now? I dont have to invoke something like "update"?
I did already download the file with Goo.im (that did work ) and it was about 157mb, that gives me the feeling its a completely new ROM, that's why Im a bit hesitant
Thx for the info though
MariusJP is right, there's no need for a wipe when you are flashing an update, but it may depend from ROM to ROM and from update to update. Just flash it and look for problems. If there are problems you'll have to wipe.
You should do a Backup via CWM before flashing any new software especially when it's not a stable one.
Flashing this update won't wipe your settings and data.
