Basically I just got my TF combo for few days, and I gotta say I'm impressed with it so far. However, I encounter 1 weird bug like this:
Ok, before I go to bed, I put the TF on the kb dock and plug the combo to the wall-charger (just like I charge my other devices). I can see the battery icon on the TF changed to a thunder icon suggesting it's charging. However, I've waited and see no fully charged icon at all. Then I let it charge overnight. The next morning I wake up (I've tried this for few days), I see the thunder icon disappeared (wall-charger still plugged in btw), and the kb dock has not been charged (or has been discharged completely somehow). I can say this because the internal TF battery is now discharged under normal usage and shows no sign of kb battery or the kb is charging the tablet.
So far, due to this bug, I couldn't experience the "16 hours" claim.
If you guys have any suggestions, please advise.
Thanks.

It came with 8.2.3.9 and no, I did not install any OTA update (I wish I could though)
its out. just check for updates, it will pop a notification. fixes most dock issues.
as far as I can tell, the 8.2.3.13 is only available to US and Taiwan customers only. Mine is UK version, so no update is available yet
With the dock plugged into power, what does the LED light next to the jack on the side of the dock do? Blinking red? Solid red? Solid green?
And the icon would be a lightning bolt, as lightning is actually electricity. Thunder is just noise from the superheated air caused by lightning.

Thanks for clarifying ^^ English is not my native language so excuse me for that
btw, when charging with the TF docked, the light next to it is solid orange (it's not so red ). When I'm using the combo, the light is blinking orange (slowly). I've never seen the light turns green ever!
Last night I reset the TF and unplug/replug the wall charger. I noticed this morning when I wake up, the TF still shows the lightening icon (it doesn't the other morning), but when I unplug the combo, the lightening icon disappeared immediately and showed no sign that the kb is still providing power to the TF (which I've heard it suppose to do).
I start to think I have a defective kb here...or may be just the FW problem...will have to wait till I get the newest FW update to find out But no sign of new FW for UK/WW SKU
Mine has been fine (got the combo last Friday) - charge took about 7 hours and light went green) discharging it over the weekend and not on the second recharge) - I'm in the UK with the fact installed FW - no issues here so is yours faulty? I'd get onto Asus myself?
when the dock is fully charged, the LED should go green...
hopefully the release with battery indicator of both the tablet and keyboard can be out soon...it does seem like a mystery to figure out which part is providing the power..(yes..we all know how it should work but this may not always be the case)
Quote from another thread
Solid Green light = Battery above 95% charge.
Solid Orange (they call it orange) = 10-95% charge.
Orange blinking = Battery less than 3-10% charge.
Orange fast blinking = Battery less than 3% charge.

Just in case... are you plugging it in the tablet or the keyboard? I don't think plugging in the tablet would charge the keyboard would it?
EDIT: ignore this post. I just realized my mistake ;-) I need coffee this morning!!!

How to completely discharge TF & dock?
How do you completely discharge TF & dock unit for a complete re-charge to eliminate any battery memory problem? Just use the units until it completely out of juice and shut down on its own I guess?
Thanks in advance.

there's no red..so Solid Red is just Solid Orange..and it's 10-95% charge..so presumably it's still charging..
I've been charging the dock only for 6-7 hours straight now, and it still shows solid orange light. I think I'm gonna leave it plugged in overnight to see what happens the next day.
How long does it take for your docks to turn green?
btw, is there anyway I can reset the dock somehow?

I wonder this as well ^^
OK, after plugged the kb in for at least 7 hours straight, I took it out and docked the TF. guess what? It's blinking orange, and not charging the TF at all!!!!
I just couldn't wait for the official .13 FW from ASUS so went ahead and updated by using Prime ROM. It comes with 0209 FW fro the KB as well, so hopefully it'll be fixed. I'll try and see in the next morning. But it seems like I'm having a defective kb here >_<
Damn!
How do you know what charge you have in your kb. For example my tf which is docked at the moment is showing 99% charge but that is presumably the tf only not the kb as well. So how do I know when the kb needs recharging ?
Also does the charge indicator light on the kb only show up when it is plugged into mains ?
I am using latest firmware in UK

At the moment the tablet only shows it's own charge, even when docked. And yes, until they add the battery meter for the dock in a future firmware, I think the only way to see the docks charge at the moment is by plugging it in and looking at that led.
It's definitely not holding any charge after fw update, and of course not charging the tablet Just called Asus, provided no help at all, said I should contact retailer for help Damn!

Hey guys,
I'm reading through the dock threads and I see a lot of issues with the battery, but I didn't see anyone with the same problem as me. Maybe it's not a problem, but I figured I'd put it out there just to make sure.
Sometimes my dock will read at 0% battery, then suddenly spike up to the proper battery percentage. It usually happens after it's asleep, then wakes up. Last night I had charged the dock to 100%, then unplugged and plugged into the tablet a short while later. It was reporting 0% and had a flashing orange light. I then charged it today and it held the charge, but still doing the strange 0% to "real" percent thing.
I have both a B60 dock and B60 tablet and I am using Prime 1.7 ROM.
Has anyone heard of this? Is my dock bad? I can still RMA it as it's brand new.
Thanks!
I did a test last night by fully charging the keyboard then plugging it into my tab at 17% battery. When I woke up, the dock had 3% and the tab had 76%. This seems pretty on par with what I'd expect. I just don't want to charge the tab and have it not hold a charge at all.
How do you even know how much your dock is charged?
I use a couple of the dual battery widgets (still haven't decided on one). I sent my dock in for repair on the drainage issue a couple weeks ago. Since getting it back I have noticed that when I wake the tablet up, it can take a long time (Sometimes up to ~5-10 minutes for the dock battery to show the correct voltage). I had upgraded to 3.2 while the dock was out for repair, so don't know if its something with the new dock hardware, or a 3.2 issue.
The other day had the dock reading 0 and even after an hour of use, never did show it had a charge. Thought I was screwed because I had read several threads that said if you ran the dock down to 0, they couldn't ever get it to charge again. Plugged it in overnight and let it set, fired it up the next morning and both were at 95+%.

Would also like to know - is there a setting on the transformer that allows me to view the docks battery status?
Thanks

When you click the notification bar, it says "Docking Connected" and then the dock battery percentage to the right. I'm assuming that is the dock battery percentage... I'm not sure if it's part of the rom, but I think I remember it being there when I was stock.

Thanks for chiming in. I'm thinking this might just be a software issue and not a dock issue then. I'll see how things go over the next few weeks.
OK... i know that the issue of the dock battery remaining at zero has been discussed before, but i am bringing it up again due to the fact that this was only caused by the latest update a couple days ago. Basically my dock battery will remain at zero and bounce up to 100 and then drop down to zero (all this according to the dual battery widget). The dock light remains a flashing orange as long as it is charging no matter what the widget says. When unplugged, the widget still states that it is charging, and the light switches to the fast orange flash. I'll post a screenshot below of the battery graph so ya'll can see what the battery looks like. Hard reboots (vol down+power) do nothing to fix the issue. Hopefully I dont need an RMA, but chances are this is warranty covered, right? Any ideas on fixes? I am NOT rooted.
EDIT: so now the widget shows that the dock is still at 0 and charging, though the docks light is green. When unplugged, the light is back to a quick orange flash. Dock widget software issue or dock battery hardware issue?
Hi all,
I just noticed a problem today.
When I plugged my charger cable into the Asus TF300T Keyboard Dock as I normally do, instead of just glowing a solid orange, I'm getting a flashing orange light.
I tried to look in the documentation to see what a flashing light means and I can't find anything.
I tested plugging in the charger directly into the tablet itself and that LED glows a solid orange as it should.
Does anyone know what the flashing orange means?
Thanks
Rob
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk 2!
UPDATE: Seem search did not find anything before I posted this thread. I ended up finding a post where someone said the cable might be bad. I wiggled the cable and now it went back to a solid orange. Maybe I should call Asus and have then replace the cable?
Yeah I have gotten a flashing orange light a few times now. The light flashes when the dock battery is low. The dock is designed to drain itself before the tablets battery. I have used it docked for over two hours with the light flashing. When I plug it into the wall it will continue to flash till the battery is charged to a certain percent. I haven't seen it on any websites or manuals however if you have a laptop and the battery gets to a critical level they it will also flash. Keep it plugged in and charge it up and it should go back to solid.
I think that is normal... I have an Asus netbook that also flashes the battery led when it is lower than 10%. I think it is there just to warn you that the battery is over.
Still, this shouldn't happen on a dock, since you can use it without battery, and it gets pretty annoying...
It's a 2-step charging process. If the dock is used it will go to 0% by transferring charge to the tablet. Plugging the cable into the dock starts to charge it but at the same time it discharges into the tablet. The flashing light is just a low power warning on the dock, nothing to worry about.
My led is flashing RED, 2 seconds interval, I suspect a fully depleted or dead battery, anybody seen a RED light instead of orange please? Thank you.

Never seen a red flashing light on mine. Does it respond to charging?
My battery is on 0% and not charging, maybe dead, I think this is the sign, a 2 sec red color on/off pulse.
I think is red only when battery is heavily depleted.
Hi guys,
Anyone can tell me with the latest WW stock if I should see 2 battery icons ( one built-in, one docks ) in the bottom right corner widget ?
Also, the led on the dock next to the charger connector blinks .. and blinks red .. and blinks ( when connected to the charger )
How am I supposed to know when the dock battery is charged ? or/when/if used ? :/
Thanks in advance.
not sure about the firmware as i havent been on stock for a long time
For the led if it is blinking super quickly that means that the batters is 3% or lower, blinking but not as quick means less than 15%, solid red/orange means it is charging and over 15%, Solid green means fully charged
Mine's been @ charge for the past 10 hours and it's still blinking red slowly ( not very fast ) .. haven't seen it orange or green...
what's the S/N on the dock? and did you make it drain completely at one point?

Mine does that too (dock doesn't charge)
cant find S/N on dock.
I have to return it to Asus, right?
ya i drained my first dock 100% and it stopped charging. You need to return it or flip a little switch inside the dock which you need to take it apart to get too.

Download the dual battery widget from the play store. it will shows how much charge the dock and transformer has and if the docks charging or not. it also gives a battery icon in the status bar. (which I think it should have at stock anyway.)

I'd tried drain the dock completely but it never go lower than 3%. And waiting is not my best passion.. I charge it anyway.. How did you actually managed to drained to completely??

Wait... a Long time. Lol
Yes, the dual battery widget shows up 0% .. I didn't drain it. The guy before me seems it did. Can ya' guys please provide more info about the little switch stuff ?
I'm willing to open it up and make it work if it can be solved.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry I don't know anything about the switch but it certainly sounds like the problem , I've never seen my dock below 3% and I've ran the tablet battery dry while on the dock a few times. I'm quite interested how you got it to go below 3% lol

I had a look on the transformer forums and the most common suggestion was to trickle charge the dock from a pc for 2-4 hours. (apparently wakes the battery up) might me something to try.
Found the switch .. will try to keep it 4 hours with it open .. one with it off .. see how this goes...
For anyone still wondering how i managed to completely drain it was the first day i got it and it hadn't charged completely so the calibration was off in combination with the fact that the old dock firmware was bugged and didn't stop it from draining
Well, nothing happened with the switch .. I'll try to trickle charge it from my laptop ( on a usb3 port ) ... just the dock ( without the tablet ) altough .. I don't see the led pop-ing up ..

Any success with this? I have been facing the same problem for about a week. I can get a little charge into the dock from time to time (once got it all the way to 18%) but then it stops charging and gradually discharges. Have tried trickle charging from my laptop and desktop PCs, updated the firmware and went back to stock Android, tried with and without the "Mobile Dock Battery saving mode" box checked in settings and nothing seems to work consistently.
I would contact ASUS but I bought this off ebay a couple months ago and am sure it is long out of warranty...
After updating to KatshMallow #26 I noticed my dock battery was never charging above 92%. I plugged the dock in alone overnight and the next morning it only shwed 87%. So I connect the tablet and ran it down until it shut off. Prior to shutting down the dock battery indicator never changed from 92%. I also didn't see any indication that the tablet was drawing from the dock battery. I plugged in the dock with the tablet attached and once I saw the green light on the tablet I powered it up. Dock battery = 87%, Tablet battery 100%. I left it plugged in with the tablet attached overnight and nothing changed. Same indications the next morning. Dock never moves from 87% no matter what I do. I installed Dual Battery widget and it only shows one battery. ???
Not sure what happened, and I don't think the update has anything to do with the issue. The dock battery has probably been going south for a while but I didn't notice it until I updated to #26. I have searched numerous threads looking for comparable issues but nothing matches. Even so I tried some of the different apps suggested with no luck. It is puzzling that Dual Battery Widget only shows 1 battery when the Asus indicators show 2.
I have found a replacement battery for $29.00 but before I spend the loot and risk trashing my dock I would like to be certain that it truly is a bad battery and not some flukey software issue that I can fix. Also, all other features on the dock work fine.
Any suggestions?
UPDATE: After leaving the tablet and dock combo unplugged for most of the morning, the orange power light on the dock began to flash. Once I plugged it in, it immediately went solid orange. My understanding is that the light flashes when the battery level gets below 10%. So is it working properly except the screen indicator is lying to me?
