I got htc sensation (swisscom) branded and it is unlocked. I can see only swisscom logo but i can use every simcard. i want get to know when htc sends any updates in coming future, will my sensation receive updates with non-branded devices or I have to wait till swisscom send any updates? thanks

Im aalso thinking about switching from the g2x to the sensation but I'm gonna wait until the bootloader is fully unlocked and cyanogenmod official starts supporting it

Probably the smart move..but I love my HTC phones. I like the look of the Sensation 100 times more than the G2X.
And honestly, the LG is just too much of a hassle right now..

I agree. The sensation is one sexy phone. What I hate about HTC phones is their screen. Even though is qhd a super lcd will never show better colors than an ips panel. I love the screen on the g2x. The screens on my evo and g2 were pretty bad

Ive had the G2x since day one, and Im thinking ... goodbye LG and hello HTC
I cant believe I got fooled into buying a phone by LG.. They spend zero time QAing their code, and we have to pay for that. I should of known better. Ive never had such issues with any other phone (and Ive had plenty of androids), as I do with the stock G2x.
This is when I decided that its time to go back to my beloved HTC and forget about the rest. At least they know how to make phones!
It would be nice to crack up the bootloader and be able to put custom roms, but all I need right now is a dependable phone, and the LG just aint it.
Plus Im sure the bootloader issue wont be an issue soon, looking at all the devs that are working on that phone...
And just to add one more thing - I cant believe that MDJ is working on ROMs for this phone... I remember back in the Hd2 times - that was the best ROM, and I bet its still that way!

Happy to hear im not the only one with a G2X getting ready to sell it on ebay. All the problems this phone have given me are just not tolerable, the constant restarts, loss of signal are nothelping, Given htc might leave this bootloader locked for a while and i do understand why aince htc watch allows you to buy movies which people can then distribute. Anyhow i hope this is released soon or let alone allow preorders.

had a g2x for 3 days LOL coming from a Nexus S (people were complaining about reboots on that at first as well) it was no where nearr as bad as the G2X ..LG build quality was horrible how can you release a phone and have it wait 4 months still waiting for the gingerbread update(that is suppost to ""fix all""") haha

Yes, don't you love those announcements? "BY the 15th". So for all we know it could be tomorrow (which would be smashing but won't happen. I hope they don't sell out. It's what sucks about relying on others to get the phone for you

Maybe the extra week is to unlock the bootloaders on them? Still disappointed, though. Ugh.

Well, it's been fun MT4G

After multiple exchanges, T-Mobile has offered to swap me out for a new device. They offered me the MT4G Slide or the Sensation. The sensation has a lot more ROM options, so I went with that.
I'm actually kind of sad, I loved this phone! But alas, the run as come to an end!

Man, and ics just went crazy here. Oh well. Drop by once in awhile. Enjoy your new toy.

I'm running IceColdSandwhich on this until my sensation gets here. I love it! ICS seems to be blowing up over there too! I'll always love this phone though!

What makes you say that?
The last time I called CS, they said one more issue and they'd swap me out. I traveled (drove) to Vegas last week for spring break, and couldn't use navigation and charge my phone at the same time. It flat out wouldn't charge while navigation was in use. Called them up tonight, they said they'd swap me out.

im getting the sensation XE soon.. the only thing ill miss is the physical buttons.. everythings all touch now and i hate it

When did you get the phone? My 1 year warranty has already expired, so I'm SOL if there's anything wrong with my phone.

If it's true - awesome! And if it's not, it's just Dylan (don't know the guy - no offence to him) getting his rocks off at the cost of others. The initial reaction to any news that sounds exceptionally good is a mixed bag - some are ecstatic, and believe anything, while the more skeptical start flaming it. Then there are those that don't bother much - because one way or the other it's gonna make its way over to XDA anyway. It'll happen when it happens, and without concrete evidence, like screenshots or even better, pictures of a DS running stock ICS, it's asking for too much faith. Maybe if Dylan or his mom would be so kind as to click a pic or two??

My fingers are crossed too but I have a feeling If I asked for a photo he would say that he's not allowed to leak pictures! Who knows. If there is anything you'd think xda would get a leak first! Who knows we'll just have to see

My friend who has a Sensation got the ICS update 2 weeks ago.
It's so funny how he doesn't give a flying crap about the update at all, and I've been drooling over the release since February!
I asked him what's new about it, and all he could tell me was the new dock bar, and a slight speed improvement...
I felt like crying
I suspect the update will hut by the end April/ start May. XL users are already receiving it!

once the update comes won't they be able to use the new kernel to make an also perfect port of the Primo s rom? I like sense 4 and I'd rather have that then sense 3.6 Because its really fast

OK, thanks for the news. I highly doubt that carrier locked phones would get the update first, which either means that it's not true, or unlocked phones will get updates even before the 2 week period It does seem to fall perfectly on the "early May" ETAs given by everyone.
@Bruce Olee - My friend has a Galaxy S II. When i told him that an ICS update is about to arrive, he asked me why he should upgrade. I told him every single feature, but nothing could convince him to upgrade except one which he considers very "useful" - Face Unlock. Now he can't wait for it

Well actually I believe orange uk were the first to get the sense 3.0 update

Agree... I believe HTC will deliver the update to carrier branded sets first, and only then deploy it for retail handsets. Read about this somewhere recently, but can't quote source offhand. Even I believe the network unlocked phones will receive the update in the later waves...

Hello Jamie, sorry to disappoint you but her phone is actually running 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0. I hadn't previously taken a look and my mother thought it had ICS because of the ring on the lock screen. She clearly doesn't know the difference between OS and UI just yet as she's not had the phone long. Again, sorry to disappoint, I sincerely apologize to you and XDA. I did however overhear at O2 that the Desire S was going to get its long-awaited update within the next few weeks, so stand by on that.

Dude its not possible at all.....O2 uk customers are still waiting for ics to come on their xe and if this update is suppose to come I would be notified about this...anyways will try to dig some infor on this....

Just cancelled my pre-order. If and when they ever get around to giving us an unlock or the devs here crack it, I might reconsider. Until then, AT&T can kiss my ass.

Yeah this is just speculation based on something from htcs end. We haven't heard anything from att officially yet
Edit: obviously this is being done by att, by who is to say they won't unlock it after a month or so

I'm pretty sure they said the same thing regarding the Vivid at first. It eventually got unlocked.

I think its still too early to totally freak out of this. All we have is one very generic quote from HTC and nothing from ATT yet. I think it will get done soon enough, if not... well then we can freak out.

You're always welcome back on the "real X" side. HTC UK said on the 2nd the graphics issues were identifed and an update specifically for them (not 1.29) was due soon.
It's kind of an interesting position people find themselves in. With the X you get: funky Nvidia related crap, 32GB of memory, ****ty battery life and an unlocked bootloader. With the XL you get a better SoC, 16GB of memory, LTE, better battery life, tons of AT&T "enhancements," and potentially no way to remove them if the bootloader stays locked. Pick your poison.

Yup. I agree that it's still possible we'll get an unlock (like the Vivid), but no amount of pressure is ever too much. The more we press AT&T and HTC, the better.
They don't really care about our community or our protests. But, like a little pest, they want us out of their hair. If we continue to be pests, they will get frustrated and cede to us.

Huawei myTouch?

I saw this another website (can't link you to it, against XDA rules, sorry!) and it looked interesting. Give me your opinions, thoughts.

In no way do I have any solid information from T-Mobile regarding the new MyTouch line, I am simply posting based on information from tmonews.com, and other sites.
According to sources (and a very convincing video posted by the guys over at engadget), the newest Manufacturer to add the MyTouch to their resume will be Huawei. It is said to be a mid range phone, however testers have stated that potential buyers should not be concerned about the device being mid range, stating that it is very solid, and smooth in testing.
My only experience with Huawei has been very low end entry devices, so I am curious what other's thoughts on this might be. Give me your opinions in the comments!

Compared to a pantech or a huawei, maybe.

I heard the Huawei is gonna be pretty good. All they've made is entry level, so obviously the experience won't be up to par. They introduced some new high end stuff at ctia or whatever just passed lately. Give em a chance, at least read a review first

i just got the new myTouch last week when it was released. I had the one from HTC as that was my replacement to my G2 from Asurion. Have the say the HTC one was a piece of garbage. Worst phone i ever had, thank god it broke a week after i got it and i was forced to get the new myTouch. This device is everything that the G2 was but better. Sure the HTC cam was a really nice piece of hardware, but only the stock OS could run it and that just wasn't worth running.
I'm hoping to root this device tonight!

Sure the HTC cam was a really nice piece of hardware, but only the stock OS could run it and that just wasn't worth running.

and what was so great about the HTC myTouch4g if you think i'm wrong? The 3 roms for it were barely stable. Had to remove my battery more than ever. Stock rom was loaded with so much bloat that the phone was virtually useless. Even when they were removed, you still have to choose Maps every time you wanted to navigate someplace as it wanted to use TMo's subscription app.

Seriously man... stop hating. We have enough going on here. We don't need anyone going on about how some phone was better than the slide or the glacier on the GLACIER forum. Whatever phone you have go to that one and talk about how superior it is.

How sad we are thinking Huawei "stepped their game up". Its still got GB on it troll. The simple fact that Hawaii (or whatever the eff they are called, lol) is behind it automatically makes it a paper weight. Why dont you go "upgrade" to that and I'm sure in no time you'll be trolling here again because there wont be jack for dev. over there. Now kick rocks.

Do you have eyes and the ability to process images? Then have I got the challenge for you! Look at our dev section and look at all thoses roms and happy users, count them, if the rom count is under 3. I'll give you $400

you guys are right, i didn't confuse it, i've got the slide version. my fingers are way to big to use just a touch screen.
you kids need to calm down though, all this troll talk and stuff, is there a bridge that i have to cross? am i looking for a holy grail? geese...
