[Q] Bluetooth Control Pads with Tegra Games - T-Mobile LG G2x

Anybody tried the bluetooth control pads with Tegra games? I'm thinking about picking up the classic wiimote controller just for the emulators, but it would be great if it controls the awesome games coming out for the G2X, like Asphalt6HD.

eh I don't know if they use custom controls. Usually games only come with a preset number of options. If a game supports mapping buttons, then it will work.
Some games like Quake 3 and stuff I think have the ability to map buttons but I haven't seen that many.

Asphalt was a bad example. I was thinking more of Modern Combat 2. FPS' are really hard to control with the touchscreen. I loaded that game and I see you can't map buttons in it, so I guess that is one I'll just have to tolerate.

play xperia optimized games on normal android phone with bluetooth keyboard?

I saw NOVA 2 for xperia play and you can play using xperia play gamepad... question is there a way (maybe needs development) to play it on normal android phone e.g. htc desire and map some buttons on physical keys like on a bluetooth keyboard or even desire's physical keys!?? Would be useful for non fully multitouch phones like desire, x10, hd2, etc...
sounds like this needs dev to achieve... just putting up the idea.. you think it wud be possible? that would be awesome imo
great idea^^ If it would work with keyboard mode it would also work with special Gamepads like the iControlPad for example. Thats a fully working bluetooth gamepad that has all the buttons an xperia play has.
It is definitely possible but I'm not sure if anyone has done it yet. I'll look into it, sounds like a great idea.
i think it's possible too.. i have tried "i must run" and "soccer superstars", both games optimized for xperia play.. and i can use the optical trackpad to move and jump in "i must run") and pass in "soccer superstars".. so i think with a gamepad i should be possible to use the gamepad buttons but probably analog will not work...
i am on htc sense, i can't test my wiimote.. if someone can test soccer superstars with a wiimote on desire, it would be great
ok lol as noone seems to be willing to try with a wiimote, i flashed a cyanogenmod 7 rom on my desire. I have tried only with one game: soccer superstars and i can confirm that i can play the whole game with wiimote. I can move with wiimote's d-pad and use the three keys A(pass), B(shoot) and S (super shoot) by mapping the keys properly on the wiimote. Might try other games but not much time atm

[Q] Gaming using the QWERTY keyboard dock?

this topic androidguys.com/2011/10/24/turn-your-galaxy-nexus-into-a-pocket-console-with-ice-cream-sandwich/ made me think about gamign on the transformer, using the qwerty keyboard - is it possible to use the WASD keys similar to gaming on the PC? do I need a special app for capturing the key presses and "translating" them into something most android games can use?
well, no, however, most games don't use the keyboard anyway. Most emulators will support the keyboard right off the bat. If you're talking about flash games then, yes, it will work perfectly for those however, don't expect good mouse control in flash games. So, it really depends on the game because, to most apps, the dock is just like an attached keyboard and will treat it as such. Also, you CAN use a wii, ps3, or wired xbox 360 controller for games, it that's your thing (mario kart plays really well with the wii and nunchuck controller, just sayin)

Racing game custom controls

After being pretty disappointed in NFS Shift and Hot Pursuit (glad I got them while they were free), largely because I can't actually customise the controls and create my own button mapping, I thought maybe some people here may know if there are any decent racing games available that actually allow you to create your own button maps.
For example, I want R and L to be accelerate and brake. I want gear up/down and handbrake to be mapped to face buttons. So far no racing game I've tried has let me do this.
Anyone know of any?

+1 on the shoulder gas and break. I can't believe neither shift nor hot persuit allow custom mapping. Its absurd. Not to mention that they have no congruency in controls between the two games.

[Q] Modern Combat 3 - keyboard + mice on multiplayer mode

Hello
Ive been playing some games on TF for some time now, especialy Modern Combat 3. Its preety hard to get used to touchscreen controls and as i've been thinking if only we could use our keyboards and connect a mice to it and play a game like PC game? It would be much easier and playable
but when I connect mice, there is a pointer (mouse pointer, like on homescreen when using touchpad) that acts like my finger so its no use from it. Is it possible to set it up and run the game like PC shooters? (moving arround with mouse, shooting when the left button and so on?)

I do this with an xbox controller with gamepad mapping to touch, but I think it'd be really hard to do with a mouse Dx you'd have to mod the apk
Ok, now you have a video game. Just buy a PS3 bluetooth controller and plug it on the HDMI 52" Television with Home teather.
Or, play with the keyboard and mouse and think that it is a full computer graphics game, like CoD or MW3

A plea for more gamepad-supported games.

I am writing this in the hopes that game developers will see this. There is a golden opportunity out there for any game developer willing to take on the challenge - Gamepads are coming out every day for Android, and everyone wants to use them. MOGA, nVidia Shield, and PS3 Gameklip are just a few of the most popular ones out there.
I personally just plug a USB xbox gamepad into my Android, and it works great, except there just aren't any gamepad-supported games. In the past few months, I have read countless threads listing gamepad games, I have downloaded and tried them all. There's even an app for Android that helps you find gamepad games.
So far, there are only TWO games that I would count as FULLY supporting ALL gamepads, and they're both made by the same company, (Madfinger Games) Dead Trigger and Shadowgun. They are the only ones that have a "gamepad controls" menu in the options that lets you go through each function and assign it a button or an axis. This is crucial. This is a huge opportunity for game developers! Why? Well have you ever been to a game expo, to the mobile gaming section, where people like MOGA demo their Android gamepads? There's dozens of different gamepad developers wanting to sell you their wares, but they are ALL playing the SAME game on their demo unit: Dead Trigger. Every where you look, it's "Look how good THIS gamepad can play Dead Trigger!" - Why? Because it's the only one that bothered to fully implement gamepad controls. Imagine how much of a free advertisement it would be if yours was the first game to break that trend, to be the only game in that expo that WASNT Dead Trigger!
While there are dozens of games out there that support MOGA, they only support MOGA, and often only one specific particular MOGA model. They don't let you change controls, and if you don't like how they're set up, you're screwed. Same goes for SHIELD. Most games that claim gamepad support only go so far as to support MOGA and Shield, and stop right there. They leave the rest of us in the dust.
There isn't a single racing game out there that supports HID gamepads like Xbox or PS3. Asphalt 8 supports them, in the way that a miser supports his mistress - secretly, hidden in some back corner. You don't get to change the controls, you are forced to use the A/B buttons for gas/brake instead of triggers, and the analog steering suffers from the "digital effect". That is to say it isn't really analog steering, it's either FULL left, or FULL right, with nothing in between. Same goes for every other big racing game out there, from GT Racing 2 to Real Racing 3.
So PLEASE devs, make us a real gamepad game! Make us lots! Make them racing, or shooters, or space sims, or sports games, whatever, and we will buy them! You will support the gamepad industry and make it thrive, like Dead Trigger is reluctantly doing right now, and in turn when they grow, they will support you. Get in on the ground floor, and there's money to be made. Get known for being THE company where EVERY game supports EVERY gamepad, and you could become the next Madfinger or Gameloft.
