I have noticed that when I leave the TF in standby for a while untouched (1day) when I do go to power it on, it boots with the Asus logo as if it was shut down? I know it wasn't because of the battery because when it powered on it was at 60%.
Is this normal behavior, some setting? Power saving feature?
Thanks,
Pete

Maybe it thinks 'OK i've been on standby for so many hours i better turn on power saving mode to save battery'
Yes, I was asking if others TF behaved the same way and this was normal ?
Mine has spontaneously rebooted once. I don't know why and it has never happened since.
Happened twice with mine today. Both occurred after FW update. Will keep an eye on it to see if it happens again.

I've been trying to reboot the phone to try to get into CWM so I can make a backup. But whenever I turn off the phone and then try to turn it on again it won't turn on. It eventually turns back on but after I pull the battery out and back again a few times.
Anyone else having a problem like this? And I'm sure the battery has had a charge before I powered off. Also is there anyway I can do a reboot or CWM with an app or something?
You know you have to hold the power button for a few seconds to turn it on, right? Not doubting you, just figured I'd put that out there just in case the solution to your problem could be that simple.
Sent from my N1. My G2x must be charging.
Haha yes, I've held it for much longer than a few seconds to no avail. I just keep removing and putting back in the battery and it eventually turns on. Could it be that I just have a bad battery?

Sounds much more like a bad power button to me. Do you have issues turning the screen on and off when your G2x is powered on?

My Transformer was working fine, battery fell below 9% so I put it to sleep and plugged it in...
Now the device will not turn on, back of unit is getting warm?
Well, the warmth will be the battery charging. No issue there.
See one of the half dozen threads about not turning back on.
It came back to life, after holding the power button still seemed dead, then i plugged in a HDMI cable and it turned on.
My power button is finicky... every thing else seems perfect...

Mine does this. You have to power off completely. To do that, you must hold the power button for more than 10 seconds to turn it off. Wait a bit, then power it back on by holding the power for 5 seconds.
I've searched around and people say it's the lock screen that causes the screen to blank. But I don't think that was it, I disabled it and it still does it.
Next someone says it has something to do with WiFi, I don't think this is right also because it has happened at times when I had the wifi OFF.

Are you saying before charging you power it off completely or always?

No I'm saying to do that when your screen is blank and can't turn on
hey guys i just got my transformer today. a couple of times i shut it off and when i try to turn it back on it wont work unless i plug it in, even though the battery is above 90%
I have a very similar issue.
I have the B40 model, when I shut down, I can't turn back on. I have been leaving my TF on all day then just shut down at night and when I come to turn on in the morning, iit is fine. Today I had to restart due to wifi constantly saying it was turning off for no reason, upon shutting down, it wouldn't power back up. I hav left it for approx 1 and a half hours, still nothing. Doesn't make any difference if it is plugged in or not. My battery is full.
Really could do with some help with this issue, as it is really spoiling what I regard as a brilliant device.

Once you plug it in and it come on, does it stay on when you take the charger off?
Once on and you hit the power button does it do anything?
You might have a faulty power button IMO.
I don't know about Krueger, but mine doesn't do anything when you plug it in. I have to wait a few hours. When I last shutdown, I was trying to restart, it just never did. I had full charge. I can't even get into APX mode. My TF is stock unrooted. Power button works just fine when tablet is on, does exactly as it should.

I've seen reports of peoples getting this "deep sleep" and not able to turn it on easily. Not sure if there's a definite fix or not. Some peoples say they have good luck turning of the lock screen, some say they fixed it by factory resetting the tablet.

Cheers m8.
I will give this a try when I can turn it back on again. Its been approx 6 hrs now since I tried to restart it. I will have to wait till morning I think. When it has done it previously, I have left it on charge all night, even though there was more than half in it each time, and it seems to start up after about 7 - 10 seconds of holding the power button in.
Thanks again

So I have spent 15 mins listening to the back of the device while trying toturn on. From what I can hear it sounds like a quiet jet engine firing up for approx 1-1 and a quarter seconds then sounds like the jet engine turning off (I know this sounds wierd, but best way I can describe). Its almost like there isnt enough power to fire it all the way up. There also other noises going on even when I dont try and turn it on, so I don't think it is fully turned of. Maybe a deep sleep issue. I did notice on this occassion, befor I tried to restart that I had no internet connection and when I went to check wifi settings it said Wifi is turning off. I leave it set to default.
Thanks

So I was in class just on Google chrome and when i went to turn my phone on from its sleep state to look up something else it was off. I figured it was probably a random shut down because i know nexus 5's have random restarts that is awaiting a fix in 4.4.3.....so basically my phone shut off in class on its own and wont turn back on. even when i threw it on a charger nothing happened. Anything i can do besides bring it to a store? Im NOT rooted by the way..
Thanks.

the n5 doesnt have a reboot problem. its some apps that people install that cause random reboots, as well as some dirty hacks. anyways, i bet it never powered off but experienced a sod instead. press and hold your power button for about 20-25 seconds. itll reboot or power down. of it powers down, press the power button to turn it back on.
Thanks...i thought i read the nexus 5 rebooted al ot randomly but i guess you would probably know more than myself....and i guess holding it for 20 seconds worked! thanks. kinda weird how it all happened and didn't think holding it 3 to 4 times the normal required amount would fix it

it was a sod then, "sleep of death". its when it goes to sleep and wont wake unless rebooted. some poorly written apps, undervolting, or randomness can cause it. no matter what, holding your power button down for 20 seconds will force your phone to reboot(its a safety, like a battery pull. because our phones battery isnt removable)
its probably bricked because of a app

lol, read, he got it working
I was watching a youtube video last night and then I turned on auto rotation to switch the side. Once I rotate the screen, phone got stucked but it kept playing the video because I heard sounds. Then I locked the screen but still I can hear the sounds but then I couldn't turn on the screen. I thought it will be okay when I take off the battery. Then I put the battery and turned on. It vibrates as usual when turning on but can't see logos or anything. I can't even go for download mode or anything. When I turned on and it vibrates, after about 5 minutes I called it but it says "Phone is switched off!". When I stare at the screen I can see that it's screen is dark brown colored! That's only thing I can see on screen. What seems to be the problem? Is there any solutions?
Try taking the battery out for a few min... And then do a hard restart. Update me on what happens.

I did that. Hard reset by you mean home+power+volume up together right? Can't even go to that mode!

I can only feel the vibration when it's turned on. There's nothing to see in it. Not even the Samsung logo.

I have not a clue what you did.
you might need to just take the battery out and wait a few hours. And then charge it for a day.
Try that. Otherwise, bring it in.
