lol dude a petition isn't needed... give it time. they'll make one for the phone.

Trident will be coming out with an Aegis case for the G2X 1st week of June. That's according to the email I got from their customer service ([email protected]).
I have the Red Aegis case for the myTouch 4G as well as the Commuter case. But I like the Aegis more.

Aegis case looks sweet...

I would definetly get an otterbox case. I like the rugged look plus if they came out with a water proof one I would pay upwards of 59.99 for one.

I just sent in an email
Hope is counts.

ordered an otterbox commuter for my wife's mytouch 4g... i'm definitely a lil envious.. that case is sweet. sending an email.

I bought the Trident and OTTERBOX for my vibrant and it interfered with the sliding motiong on the right side. It wrapped around the edge way to much. I then ordered Seidio and loved it. So when my wife grabbed the g2x I told her to wait for the Seidio to be released. I'll never buy an otterbox again.

Otterbox customer service sent me a survey link to recommend the new product. I filled it out suggesting the commuter case for the g2x.

looks like it fell on faceo down on the screen tho... i don't think any case protects the screen. If I'm wrong then hey.. it is what it is.. but looking at that pattern it kinda looks like it fell face down or something.. NO case could protect from that (given that they don't cover the screen).

I forgot to ask what case he had???
Was it the one that covers the screen?
Or was it ?
With cover removed for the picture.

Candyshell fits great and protects well, don't need an Otterbox.

I actually offered to send them my g2x to use for designing purposes. I never heard back...

I wish it was a defender series though... much better protection than the commuter series. Hopefully they will release a defender for it soon.

I don't know if they can make one for this phone. Aren't the only phones that get those "one piece" phones?

at first look, this $35 otterbox looks very similar to the cheapo $5 ones that's selling everywhere. i'm sure the quality is much better but is it $35 better as the protection is still 2 piece? im curious to see feedback from those who ordered
Its quality over plastic.

Damn, it didn't upload in HD.
I had a very bad hang over while recording.
How is the grip on the commuter series? I'm always afraid that it will slip out of my hands.

Just got mine in. Looks great will post some pics tomorrow.
This is only the second otterbox I have had. The first was a defender for the 3gs. This commuter case is well built and feels and looks great. The only problem I ran into was the first silicone layer was getting pinched at the corner when I was trying to put the outter cover snapped in place. After a few attempts finally got it on and so far so good. Def worth the wait and money.

The back is mostly hard plastic. The only silicone will be at the headphone jack, power button, charging port, and the largest part is volume rocker. The plastic has a great design/look to it. You wont be disappointed. Should be getting some pics up a little later.

Cheapest & Best case(s)

I just bought a Speck Candyshell case for a little over $20.
It was a site called wirelessground (I don't know how reputable they are).
It is rubbery on the inside & hard on the outside. It was $34 on t-mobile's site and amazon.
Google:
Code:
T-Mobile G2x Speck CandyShell
There are only 2 sites with this case including amazon.
The coupon code is
Code:
15off
I am not affiliated with wirelessground or amazon but this is one of the few cases available and I saved almost $15!
I went with the bodyguardz transparent film...no added bulk and protects the phone and screen well. I had it on my last phone and it held up great for 2 years.

Agreed brother. No Screen protectors for me. Me and my buddy bought our cases in store on one receipt so we could get the "buy 2 get 20% off" deal. I went with the body glove snap-on case. The clip has a built in kickstand, that's what sold me.

Why do people cover there nice looking phones up with bulky rubber cases? Just buy a couple spare battery covers down the road and your set. Makes you wonder why the manufacturers don't just make rubber phones????

Lol. I never drop my phone, but other people do. I trust a well made case to save me the replacement cost.
Personal preference plays a role as well. I'm still rocking out with the out of the box screen film on my phone.

Is it just me or did we as consumers just completely breeze right past the day when cases went from 10 bucks to 35-50.
They are still the same damn case!
I know why. Phones are made thinner, lighter and more delicate......so they could sell us what they know we need.......something to make it BIGGER, THICKER and HARDER.
We are screwing ourselves........and paying someone to do it.

LMFAO, Slappy! You are too funny!
I, for one, am willing to pay a bit more for a good quality case. 18 months ago, I bought a very cheap silicone flappy-case for my very-soon-to-be-replaced Samsung Eternity (UPS is dropping my Infuse TODAY - woo hoo!). I remember taking off the silicone case after about one month of use to give the device a good ol' wipedown. I was super bummed to see that the sides of the phone were all scratched up FROM BEING IN THE CASE! This POS case had actually trapped dirt/dust between itself and the phone and proceeded to chafe itself silly!
So anyway, I'm going to get a solid, snug, and well made case for my new Infuse.
Having said that, any suggestions on brand and/or model? I am thinking Otterbox Commuter, but am open to anything...
I'm liking the casemate pop case.

Infuse Case
I went with a rubberized hard case, no name with screen protector included for $7 shipped on eBay. It looks quite similar to the CaseMate.
That should tide me over until the OtterBox commuter comes out.
I bought the CM Pop when I bought my phone. I just didnt like the feel and size so I exchanged it for the Body Glove case and I am very happy.

Uh the Body Glove Mirage case is black with diagonal lines. In my eyes/opinion it does not resemble actual (or imitation) carbon fiber in any way.

I paid 50 for the 'defender' ordered at at&t retail store. Great case. Of course it makes device a bit larger, but thats what u should be looking for if seeking max protect. I had dell streak b4 and after cracking a screen from just being in my pocket; due to board/screen flexing, i will go for extra girth for safety.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA App
I have the Impact silicon one and can't stand it. It's a constant battle getting it out of my pocket because its so grippy. Also easily gets little particles of dirt underneath and is already scratching up from it moving around with the dirt in it.
Would be nice if they would release the commuter series. That what I wanted, but got the impact because it was the only thing available on release day.

Kudos to Otterbox

Just wanted to give props to Otterbox. I have the Defender case and I wear it everyday on my belt to work as an IT Support Engineer. Today I was getting into the CEO's Jaguar and the belt clip caught on his leather seat and busted. I was not pleased but I called Otterbox and they said no problem we will send you a couple of spare belt clips no problem!!! Now that is customer service and I am glad I bought the Defender even though it cost a fortune.

Huge Otterbox fan, had them on all of my iPhones. Was going to get one for my Skyrocket but got a Sedio Active case thrown in for free. Otterbox quality is fantastic though.
Dropped my Otterbox Defender cased phone on almost ANY surface you can imagine and I've yet to have a phone even scratched. The case may look like hell, but the phone always survives so I've always been sold.
BTW: I used Otterbox cases back before they started making phone cases. They made weather resistant cases for field data equipment that were always the gold standard so they've got 10+ years experience with their stuff! :good:
I've got a Defender on my Skyrocket. Bought it from Amazon to keep the price reasonable (~$35 incl. shipping), and it's taken plenty of hits without the phone being damaged at all. By far the best phone case I've had, even if it is on the bulky side.
I have the otter box "impact".. I like it better than the defender due to small size... and my phone bounces

I have a Defender for my Skyrocket, and it's saved me a couple of cracked screens for sure! I've had a Defender for my Blackberry Bold, iPhone, Atrix, and Defender. I won't buy a phone until I know there's going to be a Defender for it
Their customer service is top notch. Had to get a few replacement belt clips from them in the past, always prompt and free
I do have one question though, has anybody gotten either of the other series (impact or commuter) for their Skyrocket? I need a case for the weekends that I can put in my pocket and not have to worry about looking like a retard when I TRY to pull my phone out of my pocket.
Impact is a pita in the pocket. Rubber case is high friction.

I love otterbox. They always send me replacements and are so nice about it.
I also like ballistic cases. They send parts too. Sent me a new case in a different color when I had mine come apart from too many battery pulls.
I have two otterbox defenders for the infuse and two ballistic hc's for the infuse.
Otterbox defender on the way this week for this skyrocket. Two color, can't wait to get it. Working as a glazier (glass guy) I really depend on a good case with belt holster / clip.
