I remember there was an app like this for the HTC Touch, when the phone is idle the app will reduce the cpu speed thus save the battery - I noticed a huge increase in battery life with the touch back then and thought it was an essential app. Is there anything like this for the HD2? I think we all can save some battery life for our HD2's

Without an app to increase cpu speed and disable dynamic speed it already does this ...
LeoCpuSpeed3 will allow you to change the settings ...
first of all, the hd2 does run at 998Ghz at optimized speeds at heavy load, otherwise at idle its 700Ghz, unused. it already has this feature built in. increasing speeds arent safe especially where theres no coolant system or heatsink on these arm cpu. peeps can do whatever with their $500 dollar investment

True I would not recommend overclocking the phone, but many many people, including myself, use it locked at 998 with no problems, it gets warmer using wifi than it does at 998 ...
Also really I do not get much more battery life out of it set to dynamic ...
any app can reduce cpu below 700Mhz?

Guys, NetRipper created an app that provides all of this. It covers all your LEO CPU manipulation needs - underclocking/overclocking even static & dynamic speed setting. Conveniently, its called Leo CPU Speed! You really have NO EXCUSE for not finding it - just type the damn words in a search box "leo cpu speed".

Devs invest their precious time to create apps for you, give them intuitive names, write up tutorials, answer your questions .... it is not their job to run a search query for you - use the SEARCH box BEFORE you start hogging attention UNNECESSARILY; it'll take you less time finding it than posting up new questions!
It would be good if there was an app that reduces cpu speed to under 700mhz when the phone is locked and as soon as the phone is unlocked it takes it right back up to the full 998mhz.
Would save more battery than using autoscaling cause it would reduce it to less and you'd get full speed when the phone is unlocked since it would be at 998mhz. Something like that would be quite good providing it actually would save any battery

on my Leo - when locked - the battery current is around 4mA,
if its typical, then not much is to be gained by underclocking this particular state

yeah, mine is at 4mA as well..
isn't it like when in standby/locked the hd2 automatically underclocks to somewhat around 200mhz??
so, no need for an additional app.

You're actually right! Moreover, the instant you interact with the phone again the CPU will popup to 700+, and then if you push it a little, it'll go all the way to 998. All of this is OEM behaviour! So, these guys REALLY need to move on
I am loving my Android experience so far coming from and iPhone 4. I am running LeeDroid and have been playing around a lot with SetCPU. At this time, I am not concerned about battery as of yet. I am asking this question in regard to optimal, blazing fast performance with minimal hiccups.
I have done Quadrant testing at various min/max CPU levels. I had excellent results at 1804 high 904 min. However I had to yank the battery after not being able to unlock the device.
For profiles, real basic, again I am not concerned about battery charge life ATM. I have it set to revert to stock performace (1036/245) if the battery temp reaches 100F.
With the screen locked, I have it set to 499/245. All of my settings are using the "ondemand".
I would like to know what an ideal minimum is for PERFORMANCE as well as ideal max (1804? Highest might not always be fastest?). I got amazing results with Quadrant full benchmark with settings of 1804/499. This also caused a lockup when trying to unlock the device though. Maybe because there was a conflict with my lockscreen max setting? I would think the app would put priority to the lock profile though.
Also, does this phone have a built in CPU temperature sensor that I could utilize with a CPU temp widget?

Not all Processors are created equal and therefore some can OC to 1900+ and some cant overclock at all. Most will be in between. Sounds like you are over doing it. I clock mine to about 1400 when charging. I have had it to 1700 without an issue at all, but I don't find a need to be faster then 1400. When screen is off I actually tell it to go to 250MHz. Sometimes its alittle slow to "wake". But it saves mucho battery. When just on battery I am running at about 1250. Been this way for about 3 weeks. Not an issue.
I have never had to yank my battery and quite frankly if I did I would never run it that high again. You are going to burn it up running it at that speed. Nothing over 1500 for extended periods. 1800+ for showing off maybe? But that's kinda dumb too.
I have not read about any built in temp thing so can't really answer that.
I don't know what kind of power hungry apps you guys are running, but I run mine underclocked to 906MHz. Snappy as ever.
I'm currently running ShareDroid (4.4.2) on my on my One X and have noticed a serious issue with the battery temperature, particularly with running a particular app. When running normal apps I have noticed temperatures get up to between 95F and 100F depending on my usage. However, when IU am on the app Ingress, the battery easily can get to 120-125F+. That's when I'm usually shutting things down. I really would like to get a better handle of controlling these temperatures. Is this a situation of changing my OC and UV settings or could it be something else?

You can't really control the temperature of the battery on an app that's as resource intensive as Ingress.

I am having an issue with my Galaxy S6. The videos I have seen online show that S6 achieves scores more than 5000 on multicore on Geek Bench. However not even once have I been able to achieve that. My Geek bench is 64bit edition.
Not that my device is slow or anything but just that I have never been able to achieve that score. I get an average of 4500.
Please help.

Please no. You should keep yourself from doing that. Your device works fine.
Benchmark scores doesnt really scale well on day to day usage I guarantee that.
The main issue with low score in benchmark is DEVICE Temperature. The more heat it gets the lower the score.
Let me clear this thing up to you
You said that your device is not slowing down but got low scores in benchmark, that's because your normal usage of device doesnt push your hardware to its limits therefore you dont feel like it is crawling.
Benchmarking is different. It generally juices up your phone to its full capacity but thermal throttling comes into play, it is a safe-fail feature on device to prevent chips from getting fried. Its doing it by lowering the CPU/GPU clockspeed, the lower the speed, the lower the score you get.
But if you're desperate enough, you may achieve this thru cooling it first, mine gets 5.3k+ on multiscore at 23-25 airconditioned room. 4.5k average on room temperature, and a much lower score of 3K when I run it multiple times.
Oh okay. This is nothing to worry about right? Coz I read in one of the xda forums that this is coz there are some faulty units out there. And I voided my warranty with Unikernel. It was worth it. RAM issues and all.
Keeping it in a AC room I achieved scores beyond 5k.
See why worry if your device doesnt fail you at all hehe.

Haha yeah. Honestly if it wasn't for Unikernel I'd be pretty disappointed with this device. All lag and stutters gone and finally smooth scrolling. OK totally off topic questions.. Apparently this kernel has something called LED Fade. And I don't know how to make it work. Any help? My notification LED is still the same.
Hello everyone, I typically am a shadow user of XDA but Ive decided to start contributing and posting starting with a thermals thread.
As most people know the thermals in the RM3/RM3S were a big selling point for Nubia.
However, throughout my research Ive yet to find any definitive information on the thermals with the fan.
What id like is for this thread to detail how consistent the thermals between RM models are. The problem is I see people say their RM never reaches temperatures past 50c and theres videos showing it performing under 47c at max load.
My personal experience is on the Global Rom latest version on nubias website, I experienced temperatures between 40-48c at high loads and long gaming, however on the latest china rom I am consistently seeing cpu temperatures of 60+ even seeing 75-77c but was not able to push the phone to 80. These are cpu0 temps, throughout everything my battery never exceeded 48c, when at 75c i cut off the tests when the battery caught up to 48c point
THROTTLING NOTE:
Heres a big thing as well to take notice of, I have not been able to engage the thermal throttling on the V5.11 A11 Rom for the red magic 3s no matter what i do, and when checking the thermal engine file its empty, does this mean there is no throttling in place? Can someone check if this is consistent in their rom as well? I can engage thermal throttling fine on the red magic 3.
If your rom does have thermal throttling can you please copy paste your thermalengineconf for the thread?

Also just a side inquiry, is having temperatures of 60c-70c safe in the phone? Im aware cpus can handle 60-80c temperatures without issue except perhaps in the very very long term. However I am not sure the Snapdragon 855+ is capable of that? Can anyone educate me? Are the internals in the phone setup in such a way that the nand is as far as possible from the cpu? Anything over 45c is reaching extreme danger zones for ANY nand. If this question doesnt belong in the thread please let me know, this is my first post .
