[How-To]Using Ninja Morph to Change Your Status Icons - Droid Incredible Themes and Apps

A couple people have asked me for a instructions on using Ninja Morph, so here you go. Since my main computer crashed I am forced to write this using my wifes laptop. This also means that I lost the 4G icons that I had already made. So I will be showing you how to change the signal bars instead. They are contained in the same folder so you can change them on your own once you are done with this. I downloaded a nice simple looking tower with signal waves that will work for what we need. I edited these in Paint to get the colors I wanted and clean them up a bit so they look good at actual size.
NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE YOU START WITH THESE STEPS. I HAVE PUT MY PHONE IN A BOOT LOOP ONCE WHEN DOING THIS. NOTHING THAT A RESTORE DIDNT FIX THOUGH.
1. Download the attached file containing the set of signal bars you will need. For future reference when you make your own they need to be saved in .png format. Save these pictures somewhere on your SD card you will remember.
2. Download Ninja Morph (refered to from here on as NM) from the market.
3. Open NM and allow it to run it's start up checks.
4. Select New Project at the bottom left of the screen.
5. Scroll down and select System folder
6. Select app folder
7. Scroll down until you find the SystemUI.apk and select that
8. After NM has extracted all the files, select the res folder
9. Now select the drawable-hdpi folder (this is where the icons are that we are looking for)
10. Now scroll waaaaay down until you start seeing the 3G icons. A little ways after that is where the signal icons are located.
11. Find and select the .png file that is labeled stat_sys_signal_0
12. Now navigate to the folder where you saved the filed you downloaded earlier.
13. Select the file labeled Tower0.
14. Select yes when it asks you if you want to replace the original file with the new one (don't worry, it will rename your new file to what it needs to be when you save it)
15. Now you are back in the SystemUI.apk
16. Select navigate through res/drawable-hdpi and scroll down to the bars again.
17. You should now see the new icon labeled as stat_sys_signal_0.png.
18. Now select the next icon labeled stat_sys_signal_0_full.png
19. Again we are going to replace it with the Tower0.png (I know this seems weird, but stay with me)
20. Say yes to replacing the file and navigate back through res/drawable-hdpi and locate the signal png's again.
21. From now on it should be easy to change all the files without my help, but here is a list of which file replaces which:
stat_sys_signal_1.png replaced by Tower1.png
stat_sys_signal_1_fully.png replaced by Towerfull1.png
stat_sys_signal_2.png replaced by Tower2.png
stat_sys_signal_2_fully.png replaced by Towerfull2.png
stat_sys_signal_3.png replaced by Tower3.png
stat_sys_signal_3_fully.png replaced by Towerfull3.png
stat_sys_signal_4.png replaced by Tower4.png
stat_sys_signal_4_fully.png replaced by Towerfull4.png
22. When you have finished replacing all the icons navigate to the main screen of NM and select Finish Project from the bottom right corner.
23. When it has finished extracting the files it will ask if you want to proceed. Select yes.
24. The next box asks if you want to zip align the apk. Select NO. Zip aligning seems to cause problems when doing this. Select No when it asks if you want to delete the project.
25. When NM has confirmed that the process has been completed you should see you status bar disapear. At this point you need to reboot your phone.
26. Once your phone has rebooted, you should see your new tower icons in your status bar.
Congratulations, you have just completed a custom modification of your phone. Don't worry, if these aren't icons that you like, or you want to change the color, simply upload a new set of icons to your phone and perform the process again from the top except select existing project instead of new project. So far I have successfully changed my 3G to 4G icons, signal bars to tower bars, and once my battery goes down to 10% it turns into a check engine light. So it seems that anything is possible. If you can find where the icon is located, you can change it to what you want.
Good luck and let me know if you need any help.
Edit: here is a shot of what my current mods look like.

Just got done working on a friends Droid X. His 3G icons were located in system/framework/framework-res.apk. So if you candidates find them in where I suggested in my previous post, try that. I also have a custom set of WiFi icons if anyone is interested.
Here are some shots of my wifi, GPS, and airplane mode icons.
*It's IncREDible*

I have played with Ninja Morph a lot, and am blown away that more people don't seem to use it for some DIY theming. I'd be very interested in getting more of a discussion started on where different theme elements are in different ROMs (I've done a lot with CM7 and stock sense). Thanks for the good initial write up on this!

only thing that bugs me about ninja morph is the Zipalign or Zip at the end of it. most custom roms are Zipalign to save space and to use less RAM. you will have to use it Ninja morph a lot before you will remember which one to select at the end. i wish it would remember if the APK was Zipalign or not before it rebuilds it so you dont have to do a trial and error on it. I just gave up on it and now use 7zip.
Great right up though. I like it.

hello and thank you for this program. I am just starting in this aspect. I have an Acer a100 that only uses Wi-Fi so I would like thouse icons if thats OK. if so where can I find a link to them. I already found where the icons are located on my tablet.

How to change the app(not just pic) to match your theme

I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THIS LOOK FOR IT UNDER G1 THEMES AND APPS I DON'T KNOW IF THE LINKS WILL WORK SINCE I'M USING XDA APP so here's the post go look it up
I've never started a thread here, as I rarely have a unique idea - but this time I've decided to bite the bullet and share my experience.
It has been discussed on these forums about editing the APKs for non-stock apps in order to make the icon match the theme throughout the OS (as opposed to using Bettercut or similar to just change the homescreen icon). It has also been discussed elsewhere, but I can't find the link.
My problem was very similar, yet different, so I figured I'd play around and see what I could come up with.
I use the unbelievably sexy GlossSuite theme by Moonsspoon which uses this cool little icon in the notification bar to alert you to having a new SMS (and maybe MMS, not sure...).

I also use the app from the market called SMS Popup. If you dont know what it is, check it out - very handy. One of my favorite features of the app is that you can use it for your SMS notifications, and it allows you to set a custom vibe pattern and it will flash the LED the color of your choice - both very helpful to let you know that it's an SMS you're getting instead of a call or whatever...
You need to turn off the native SMS app's notifications when you use this feature of SMS Popup so that you dont get 2 alerts every time you get a message. The drawback to this, while using a theme like GlossSuite, is that the notification icon for messages that SMS Popup uses is the stock icon:
This is only a problem if you're OCD like myself.
I had already gotten the png icon extracted from the GlossSuite theme in hopes that I could just swap it out with the icon inside the SMS Popup apk (if I could find it, that is).
So I decided to crack open the APK for SMS Popup and see if I could find the icon used and what I could do to make it use the icon from the GlossSuite theme.
Inside the APK in the /res/drawable folder there are 2 images: The app's icon, and the icon used in the notification bar. And to make it even easier, the file name was exactly the same as the file used by the GlossSuite theme! Easy enough!
I used 7zip (WinRAR should work just fine too) to:
1. Open the APK
2. Navigate to the /res/drawable folder
3. Delete the stat_notify_sms.png
4. Drag and drop the png I extracted from the theme into it's spot
5. Delete the META-INF folder inside the SMS Popup APK
-- I got this info from the previously mentioned thread about swapping non-stock icons. It is so that when you resign the APK in the next step, the keys don't conflict with what the APK dev has used (or something like that - I admittedly don't know anything about keys and signing and all that jazz)
6. Close your archiving application.
I then used this auto-signing tool posted by "Dave Da illest 1" to resign the APK using the testkeys. It had to be edited slightly to sign APKs instead of ZIP files. If you want to download my edited version of the auto-signing tool, click here.
Uninstalled the previous version of the app, copied the APK over to my SDcard and then used AppManager to install the APK, and now:
(yes, I know there are typos...)
It works!
I'm sure most of your brainiacs here at XDA have figured this out on your own, but I couldnt find any solid information on it so I figured I'd share what little knowledge I had on the subject.
If you want to try this for yourself and want the icon from the GlossSuite theme, it is here.
And if you just happen to have GlossSuite installed and are using SMS Popup and would like my already edited version of the APK, click here.
[DISCLAIMER: If my sharing of this APK goes against any rules of the forum, please excuse my ignorance. If I find out this is the case, and a mod hasn't beat me to the punch, I'll gladly remove this link!]
So - with all that being said, I should clarify that I haven't done any theme creation (although I have edited a few pngs here and there, but nothing major), so obviously this bit of information is probably well below most of you... But if it can help anyone, then yay for my first real contribution to this community.

really if you are using 7zip pull out the png you want to edit and make sure the one you are replacing it with is the same dimensions (i.e. if the original is 20pixels by 20pixels then the replacement should be the same 20x20) and have the new one named exactly the same (i.e. original named awesome.png then the new one you name awesome.png case sensitive) and drag the new .png back to where you got the original from inside the apk there is no need to resign. so leave the Meta-Inf alone and adb push the .apk file back onto your phone where you got it from.
... so what i'm getting at is no need to delete the meta-inf and resign if you are replacing the .png with a .png of same dimensions and name.
unless i'm missing something which i don't believe i am. (then again i don't use a file manager to reinstall the .apk i just push it to the phone.)

How to Make the Notification Backdrop Background Semitransparent (or just change it)

There a few good ROMs out there for the Epic, but if you are like me, you like to tweak them a little bit so that they are more personalized. I like when the dropdown background of the notification bar is semitransparent. I looked around on XDA and other some other sites and couldn’t find a tutorial on how to do it FOR THE EPIC 4G. SOOOOOO……I figured it out all by myself. Since I feel like sharing today, here is a tutorial on how to do that. You can also use an image that has 100% opacity (in other words, not transparent).
Before you continue, you
1) need have a rooted phone,
2) need have SDK/ADB setup for you Epic,
3) you have WinRAR or 7-Zip (I will be using this), and
4) have Gimp installed on your PC.
There are various threads on rooting and ADB here on XDA if you haven’t done that yet. As far as 7-Zip and Gimp are concerned, just be a tad resourceful and Google them and you’ll find the files can be downloaded.
Also, I am using a Windows machine, I don’t have a Mac (see the proof in my wallpaper in the screenshot below) or use Ubuntu so don’t ask!
ALWAYS CREATE A BACKUP BEFORE SWAPPING SYSTEM FILES!!!!!!! ALWAYS!!!!!
First off, here is what my Epic is sporting…today.

}
Step 1 - Get an Image
Find an image you want to you use. Just Google some images or backgrounds and find one, download it, and then save it to your desktop.
Step 2 (this one is not as easy as Step 1) – Make the Image Semitransparent
Now if you don’t want the image to have any transparency or aren’t feeling adventurous today, skip ahead to step 3.
Open up Gimp and window will pop up that has the Gimp mascot watermarked in the background. Drag your image from your desktop into the window. The image will now appear in the Gimp Window. From the menu at the top of the window select Windows-->Dockable Dialogs-->Layers (or press Ctrl + L, whatever floats your boat).
A new, smaller Window should have opened up. In this Window there is a slider control labeled “Opacity”. Remember that word from the beginning of this post? Well right now it should say 100%. Click the slider then drag it to the left until the desired opacity level. I am using 85% on mine. Personally, anything under 50% I find unpleasant, but heck, to each his own.
When you are done making your image slightly, or highly, transparent, go back to the Window with your image in it and select File-->Save as (or press Shift + Ctrl + S, to keep your boat afloat). A few confirmation pop ups will appear;
first one is the Save Image confirmation – click Save,
second is the Do you want to replace it? confirmation – click Replace,
and the third is the Save as PNG confirmation – click Save.
Success!!!! Your image is now transparent. It may not look like it on your desktop, but trust me, it is.
Step 3 – Extract twframework-res.apk
Go to your tools directory in the location you have your Android SDK saved. For me its “C:\Program Files (x86)\AndroidSDK\tools” and I am sure yours will be different, just make sure you are in the tools folder.
Once in the tools folder, make sure a file in the folder is not selected the press shift on your keyboard and right click your mouse. Select “Open command window here” from the context menu.
A command prompt window will open and type in “adb pull system/framework/twframework-res.apk”. Then click the Enter button on your keyboard.
Go back to the tools folder and you will have a file called twframework-res.apk. If you have never done this before, CONGRATULATIONS! You have extracted your first system file from your phone.
Step 4 – Replace status_bar_background.9.png
Return to your image on your desktop and rename it “status_bar_background.9.png”. Windows may fuss about changing the file type or something of the sort, just click Yes or OK. If Windows doesn’t fuss, then your PC must like you more than mine likes me (actually it’s just because your image was already saved as a PNG file type).
Next you need to open up your twframework-res.apk file. This can be done by attempting to open it and selecting the extractor of your choice as the default program, or by remaining it to include a “.zip” at the end of it. That would make it “twframework-res.apk.zip”. Once open navigate your way to \res\drawable-hdpi\. In this folder there you will find the status_bar_background.9.png that is currently being used, you can drag it to your desktop if you want to save it for later use or just in case you don’t like your new setup. Now drag the status_bar_background.9.png image from your desktop into the drawable-hdpi folder. Press OK on any popups that show up.
If you renamed your twframework-res.apk file change it back to twframework-res.apk, NO EXCEPTIONS! Now your twframework-res.apk contains the image of your choice.
Step 5 – Push twframework-res.apk Back to Your Phone (Phew! Last step, all…most…there…)
Go back to your command prompt and enter the following 6 commands. Tip: ignore the $ and # signs, if your phone is properly rooted you won’t have any issues.
adb push twframework-res.apk sdcard/twframework-res.apk
adb shell
su
remount rw
cat sdcard/twframework-res.apk > system/framework/twframework-res.apk
reboot
Your phone will now reboot.
Ladies and gentlemen, hopefully mostly ladies, you are now done and your phone now has a touch of you.

Yes, it will only change the backdrop. To get it to look like the screen shot you need to change a few more files in a couple different places.
I could tell you which files need to be changed and give you the correct images. PM me if you would like to know.

jprocha, have you discovered what any of the other images in the framework archive are for? I am considering experimenting to see what effects can be acheived, so any headstart is appreciated
It will probably take some time, but a full guide for skinning the interface could be useful...
Side note - has anyone tried setting their wallpaper to an image that has parts at 100% transparency? The system doesn't write anything to the screen for transparent pixels, so it leaves a sort of afterimage when you slide from one screen to another
Awesome job, I tried to figure this out when I first got my epic, and failed miserably. Now I am sure I can do it! Thanks again!

i don't have immediate plans of creating a full guide. But the easiest way to find out what images are being used on the screen is to compare the images in the stock rom to the ones in a custom rom that looks very different from stock ie emotionless beast. Just notice what is different and you should be able to figure it out.
Let me know if you are having any trouble finding a specific image and I'll try to help.

GlossyNotificationsIcons – installed with tiwili - take it, work it, leave it

Hi everyone,
this notification symbols are what you will get with this demonstration:

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
(all changed icons and all changed apks visible in tiwili_png.zip)
(this charging text exists only for demonstration reasons, completely useless)
but mainly I want to show my new way of installation. Didn´t find anything in this way. It´s a kind of metamorph on PC.
From the beginning of my experiences with android files I complained about the fact that different mods concerning same system.apk “kill” each other, because always complete apks are installed. In other words: last in – first out.
Other disadvantages I see:
Merging apks only with knowledge of changed files inside
Difficult after updating & reflashing
Download & upload size
Nobody sees how a modification works
Same pngs-names on other devices, but e.g. battery-mods don’t work, have to be recoded
So I´ve searched a lot and find nothing, start trying a lot and that´s the result.
Now it´s possible to:
transfer modifications to other builts or hardware
control modifications. Using WinMerge you can compare existing and updating files
have smaller files
can easily be used after flashing new ROM
There are two versions:
tiwili-png:
It´s just for changing pngs inside folders that can be extracted by packaging tools as well. No signing needed. Script deals with existing system-apks on phone, pulls them, using zip-command-line-tool, update files and finally pushes them back to phone. Easy to use and very useful after flashing a new ROM.
All by one click!
BUT: For battery-mods a basic framework-res.apk is needed with the corresponding xml-files within that define number and matter of displaying icons, the rest is just organizing folder with pngs! I added my framework-res.apk from Android Revolution ROM 3.0.
Installation:
Download tiwili_png.zip & extract it
If you like Dinik´s style you´re free to download framework-res.apk and copy it into tiwili_png folder (for update-size demonstration I wanted to keep “real” download size as small as possible)
Open folder & Run backup.bat
Run IfYouWantMyFrameworkres.bat (if point 2 answered with “yes”, it´s 2.3.4)
Wait for ready phone
Run tiwili_png.bat
That´s all
tiwili-png I did first, but afterwards I thought it´s better to be able to mod every file within an apk by this method. So this came out:
tiwili-wholestory:
Every modification accepted. Works with system- and other apks. Signing included. Pulls dependencies from phone, pulls specified apk(s), compiles, changes, decompiles, signs and pushes back. It takes more time than tiwili_png but it´s more powerful. Placing just pngs in system-apps will do the same like other script.
All by one click!
Installation:
Download tiwili_wholestory.zip & extract it
Open folder & Run tiwili_ws.bat (Backups of original files are later in originalAPK folder)
Wait for ready phone
That´s all (demonstrated text modification on English only!)
As always: I´m not responsible for any damage etc. If you want to go back run recovery.bat.
Tiwili-wholestory is just for demonstrating. I´m not very skilled in modding but didn´t want to stop at tiwili-png. I simply use it to mod a widget-clock-app from market with clock-mods from HD2 forum. (market apps must be signed)
But any developer may use it to publish his mods. Modification is easy, ReadMe inside zip-files.

Who has ideas for better possibilities: talk about it

Quick question
Is it possible to just get the application background (like how the internet app looks on the homescreen) and not the notifications?
I tried this on coredroid 2.2 the other day and all that got changed was the battery icon. The rest were all the same. Was hoping to get some dinik on my phone.

Get rid of GPS "crosshairs" in notification bar

Hi guys,
This should work on a rooted phone using stock rom.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So I didn't even notice that this icon just sits there for no real apparent reason and found it to be a nuisance, seeing as how the information it intends to show is pretty useless.
So I changed SystemUI to look like this (this is a screenshot in landscape mode). No more GPS crosshairs:
It's cut off in the image, but the last two toggles will be "Mobile data" and "Sync" on the far right.
100% credit goes to MAD Industries and the packages that he uploaded to this thread. It was one of the first mods I even tried when I first rooted. Killing the gps crosshairs was on his to-do list and was sad to see that there weren't any further updates on it.
Rather than completely delete those crosshair images from the SystemUI package, I just edited the opacity of those images in Gimp so you just don't see them.
Just drop systemui.apk into /system/app
SystemUI will start freaking out and force close repeatedly. Just reboot the phone and you're good to go.
I know this is a ridiculously minor mod, but I was thinking if I had been searching for it, then maybe I might be able to save someone else out there some time. I'm one of those folks that hasn't yet jumped to a stock rom like CleanRom, Synergy, etc.
Thanks.
Nice!:good:
If you don't mind deleting the icon (or saving it elsewhere), here's a writeup:
Disclaimer: Do not attempt this if you don't have a nandroid backup and/or are not comfortable flashing your phone if you brick it. This method alters and replaces crtical system apk files. If you've never used ninjamorph, well then you need to go read. I'll try to answer questions and help.
In ninjamorph:
open a project with systemui.apk, then exit ninjamorph
In a file browser:
go to sdcard\AndroidThemes\workspace\SystemUIapk\res\drawable-hdpi\
delete stat_sys_location_on_2.png and stat_sys_location_e911_2.png
Edit: I just figured out that you can delete files within ninjamorph. So the steps where you delete files from within the file browser, well you can just do it all in ninjamorph and save time.
In ninjamorph:
finish the systemui project
Once it is done, immediately hit power and reboot the phone. If you don't do this quickly before something uses systemui.apk, then the phone will freeze and you'll have to battery pull. After the reboot, you should be AOK and without those annoying GPS icons.

Thank you so much. I was looking for this. Works great.
Very glad that I could be of some help.
DUDE! Thank you so much for that write up! Been dying to get rid of that icon!
This also added a wifi on/off button in the notification bar which I wanted. The downside is that the data button is now at the end of the right side but not a big problem.
Deleting the file gets rid of the Icon but the space in the noti bar cannot be filled by another icon. So you cant see it but the space is still filled. Any way to fix this?

I notice that too, but I only notice it when the 'smart stay' icon pops up.
What other icons are there to the left of the gps-crosshairs/location icons?
As far as I know, MAD mentioned that completely editing out that area of the status bar takes a lot of work, smali edits, etc.
The other alternative may be to resize the .png files to a 1x1 pixel image and see if that helps, but I don't have much time to give that a try today.
Just tried shrinking the png files to 1 pixel in width. Doesn't work. The space is still reserved but again, I only notice it when the smart stay icon pops up. I drive myself crazy over a lot of things but not going to with this lol.
It would be nice to just turn this "feature" off and reclaim a little screen real estate.

When I was on stock I was able to delete it without any ill effects like the space not being filled again. I used ninjamorph.
Notification menu gone
I dragged and dropped the apk into system/app, rebooted the phone and now I have no notification menu. Anyone else get this?
ready to give this a shot, m-cat did you fix your issue with the notification menu? if so have any idea what caused it?

I had the same thing happen to me. Thankfully, had an old copy SystemUI backed up by TiB. Until I restored the old file and deleted the modded SystemUI from system/app, reboots did not restore the notification bar and SystemUI kept crashing.

No I didn't find a fix, I restored and have been living with it the crosshairs.

[Guide] Make a transparent pulldown background from your phone!

DISCLAIMER: This guide involves the use of a paid app!!!
In this guide I will attempt to teach you how to make your own transparent pull down background without the use of a computer. It is very simple and once you get the hang of it, it only takes a few minutes to do.
Things you will need
Photoshop touch for phones
transparent base (linked at the bottom of this guide)
pic you want transparent
That's it
First you will need to download the app "Photoshop touch for phones" (from here on out known as PS Touch), it is a paid app on the playstore and is well worth the money, the only thing that limits this app is your imagination! Then you'll need to download the transparent base linked at the bottom of this guide. Once you have your picture and everything else you need you're ready to start editing!
Open the app PS Touch, if the picture you have isn't sized correctly or you want to touch it up and make it your own you'll want to edit that first, press new project and then choose photo library. This will open up your gallery, choose the photo you want to edit/resize from there. To resize you'll click the & icon at the top and choose resize, you want the size at 720x1280 (when the resizer pops up hit the link so the numbers aren't linked together so you can get the correct dimensions)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
now you can edit the pic as you please. And then press done and then save. Once you press done it will bring you to this page, you will need to save it again from here so it shows up on your gallery (the first time you saved it only saved it to your projects). To save again press the box with the arrow, then select your pic. Save as PNG
after you save it and confirm it shows up in your gallery you can delete it from your projects, or not, your choice
Now is when that transparent base comes into play, start a new project again, selecting photo library again. Now find where you put your transparent base (I put mine in a folder named transparent base to make it easier to find since it doesn't really show up in the gallery, it is there though, once you're in your folder with it press the top left to select it).
If you selected it, your screen will look like this
Now you'll want to add a layer, the layer being your photo you edited before (select photo layer, then navigate to Adobe photoshop touch folder, it'll be in there)
. Once selected you should get this
Press the check mark to set it....
Now comes the part where you make it transparent! Press the button on the bottom right that looks like 2 papers with a + sign (the same button you pressed to add a layer), then instead of adding a layer, press the other 2 paper button that pops up
Now, just mess with the slider for opacity
. I think anywhere from 30-35 is just about perfect, but you can set it wherever, the lower the slider, the more transparent the pic will be.
Once you have the opacity where you want it you will need to merge the two pics. To do that you will press the button that has the arrow pointing down. (it's under the opacity slider) click merge visible, you'll now notice you don't have two layers anymore, which means you're done and ready to save!
press done and save it the same way you did before.
Now you're ready to rename it and throw it in a flashable and flash! (I've only done this on wicked and tpr for sprint, but it should work on all tw ROMs that utilize morphology, for tpr it needs to be named pulldown.png and for wicked it's tw_custom_bg.png, just make sure to name the png to whatever your rom has for the pulldown or it won't show up) Since I don't know what the pulldown background is named for you over here in Verizon land, you'll need to make sure you name it correctly for your rom. The image is found in system/app/systemui.apk/res/drawable-xhdpi...
AS ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP!!!
Thank you @kennyglass123 for confirming it was OK to make this thread, also thank you to @bigpappags3 for your help figuring this out!
transparent base pic
Some examples of what it looks like when it's done.
This one by @bigpappags3, not sure how he got it like this yet, but I'm sure he will let me know or wrote up a guide for it so I can have Kenny stick it in post 2
