I have the sleep of death issue. Slow GPS lock up. Wifi freeze. Its annoying but I got my phone mailed to me and don't want to do the back and forth thing with T-Mobile if I don't have to. Is this a hardware problem and the phone needs to be returned? Or will this all get fixed with an update? I'm kinda guessing its hardware related cause some people have perfect working phones...
I also have a galaxy s 4g sitting next to me. If it was a little faster and didn't use that Samsung overlay I would just use that. Having a hard time deciding wish this g2x didn't have the issues.

LG is issuing an update to the O2x because of these issues. I would assume the update for us should fix the same issues.
That being said, I'm on my second replacement and so far it hasn't froze/rebooted in 1 day and 8 minutes.
I like the phone a lot. If they will fix the problems I would like to keep it. Its just funny that we all have the exact same hardware and yet only some of us have problems and they say it's software. Seems like had components to me...

I would like to go back to ginger bread has anyone who hasn't switched bricked recently?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
When I first read about the bricks I switched back to froyo, I stayed on it for less than 72 hours before I switched back to gb. So far my experience has been great not a single random reboot and everything works as it should. I'm more hesitant of messing with system files as I normally would be but I think I can hold off tweeking if the trade off is a complete gb sense experience.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
I don't see any problem with switching back, since the intiial bricks (3-5 people?), I haven't heard of anyone else bricking.
Just be sure to wear your tinfoil hat when flashing.
I don't think there have been many (or any) bricks since the announcement
I'm running CM7 gingerbread just to be safe. Ill switch back when the dev who originally posted the warning says we are good to go back.

Yes. Call volume is a tad bit low (not a problem for me but may be for some people who are hard of hearing, or work/live in a noisy area). Absolutely no problems with 3G and 4G works by just switching from 4G to 3G, getting a strong signal, then switching back.

It works plenty well enough to use daily. The battery life wasn't great for me. since being on Das Bamf 2.0-5 I've really started to like the new Sense bits so I couldn't go back to CM7. Plus the battery seems to last forever on 2.0-5. If my phone takes a dump I guess I'll at least be able contribute a broken phone to the crew trying to figure out the problem.

From what I've read, you'd lose 4G, which is a deal-breaker for me.
I'm waiting for the next leak of Gingerbread before going back.

You don't lose 4G. I have had a constant 4G connection for almost 42 hours. The only time you may "Lose" it is when rebooting but all you have to do is switch to 3G and back.

CM7 is fine. 4G handoffs are fine, everything works fine so far. Haven't found any issues yet. Only small annoyance is after I get off a phone call, the screen wont respond to anything unless I lock the phone and unlock it again. But that only seems to happen if the other person hangs up first.

weird as usually a launch day phone would be a 1 not a 2. it was the same on the evo4g. why did you go through soo many phones?
Settings/about phone/hardware. In here I see mac id's for WiFi and Bluetooth, hardware version is 0002. I assume this is the revision you speak of? Anyway, I bought the phone May 6th and the store had just received a batch that morning, I've run both froyo and gb radios and roms, never experienced any issues other than a few reboots a month ago.

I get random signal drops on the stock T-Mobile 2.3.4 rom. I have updated to the March Baseband using the LG updater tool. I just got this phone 2 days ago and I was wondering if there are any fixes for this?
Sometimes I jump from 4g > 2g.

See if you can bring yourself back to the July baseband. You may have to go without 2.3.4, but you could get yourself a better functioning phone instead. Lol.
Once on that, maybe try a stock 2.3.3, OR a custom rom.
I'd suggest flashing cwm and trying qwes 2.3.4 .. then use titanium backup to freeze the bloat or remove it. Prolly wont help, but its worth a shot before downgrading the BB.
I had hella issues with 2.3.3 which led me to xboarders modified stock without bloat and most of my issues went away...
Then I went to cm7 and had no issues at all. (Unfortunately the new bb doesn't work with cm yet)

The only time I have had that issue was with arcee's selfkangs of ics/CM9. But once I switched to aokp, I didn't have any issues with signal dropping.

Try Hellfire Phoenix.
I know you said you don't want to do custom ROMs, and I'm guessing you'd rather avoid rooting (since you said it wasn't currently rooted), but honestly...you're not going to have a good experience w/your G2X unless you do.
I bought my G2X, when they first came out, and haven't been happy with any of the Tmo/LG updates/releases. Including the 2.3.4. I have noticed better GPS lock w/the 2.3.4 release, but I'm also getting random signal drops, and having issues with wifi calling...even on kwes ROM. (I should mention that kwes 2.3.4 is far more stable than the LG release)
The best experience I had, was with WeaponG2X (2.3.3/July bb). It was stable as hell, and had lots of nice extras. I may end up going back to that. However, I have also noticed, through my years w/Tmo, that I will get signal drops off and on for awhile, then they stop. So, it could be that Tmo is messing with their towers or equipment, and it's not actually our phones. If my issues persist, I may give up the better GPS lock, and go back to Weapon & the older bb. For now, I'm going to wait it out a bit.
Good luck w/your G2X.

Well, I really don't want to flash any custom roms unless it's ICS. I have AOKP on my Hp Touchpad and I love it; however, on all ICS builds the camera isn't working (namely AOKP, which is the rom of my choice). Since the camera isn't working on CM9/ICS builds I won't flash them since I use the camera regularly.
Now about CWM, I just flashed using NVFlash the experimental touchscreen version and I rooted my phone using SuperOneClick. I'm now in the process of removing tmobile bloatware (ex. WIFI Calling, Mobile apps, etc).
Anyway, I'll report back with the results.

I leave for work about 130 and when I get off at 11 I would have about 60 to 65% battery left. On breaks and lunch I use the piss outta the phone.
With 2.3.3 I would get about 7 hours and it would die..
With 2.3.4 I have about 50% left at the end of work.
I can't wait till the new baseband is compadible with aokp, I've got really high expections for the battery life.
With cm9 kangs (i hate to even call aokp a kang, but it is in the name) the free app videocam illusion ( I think that's the name) allows video recording but the quality isn't best, but it works. The native camera apps will take pics, but forces closes on video.
Id run aokp see how that does. Then if its all good, try fauxs kernals. Keep in mind before flashing a kernal, backup ur rom. Just in case fauxs kernal has issue.. ( I can run faux kernals with stock voltage, when I do the undervolt, I have issues... some phones can handle it, others can't).
Hope my rambling helps.

Deleting bloatware on stock kernal didn't help, so I switched to AOKP. So now I'm testing that out to see if I still get the random signal drops. If a custom rom doesn't help I'm going to try a new SIM card, maybe the one I'm using sucks.

Ive been on verizon for years and made the switch over to at&t to get the one x and have to say Im loving it. At&t has really made big improvements to there network as far as everywhere around my area goes.
Here is whats going on though:
Every now and then I can pull my phone out and turn the screen on to see it show full bars E then 5 seconds later it will change to full bars G then another 5 or so seconds full bars 4G. Its not a big deal but just wondering is it normal?
Another thing Ive noticed is when I leave my driveway of my house and get out of range of my wifi it will go to no service then to 4g. Its fairly quick but I dont remember it with any other phone Ive owned.
Could be signal issues with your towers or a sim card issue .
