Samsung Focus - NoDo installed downgrade how to ? - Focus Windows Phone 7 Development

Hi there i have seen many has problem with downgrade, from NoDo
i just wanna open this, thread to see if we can contribute to fine a solution.
hope anyone is interested to fine a way.
sorry for my bad English
im @rom 7.0.7392

Read the thread I started.
After you've updated, connect to Zune, click Phone-> Settings -> Update. There you will have the option to restore
You have to do that on the very machine you upgraded.

i did that, but after i have upgrade to 7.0.7392 i don't have the restore option anymore.

It means either Zune deleted the old restore after the new update or something else happened and your backup got deleted. Check in the folder, do you still have the files? Don't just look for it, also check the size of the whole folder.

didnt find it, but i got a vmware, with the old update i did restore it back and install the .cer and udpate to nodo work fine now thanks

restoring backup help
Need a bit of help guys. I need to revert my focus to the original rom. I updated to nodo thinking I could unlock and sideload afterwards, but of course.. I couldn't. I've reformatted my pc since then and don't have my old restore point. I'm downloading a 7008 backup from a user here on XDA (thanks munkeyphyst!!!)
but I don't know how to get Zune to see it as an old restore point. Can anyone tell me where I need to put the files?
I have XP SP3.
thanks in advanced.

I think a lot of people need to check the thread PavelX1 started

^What he said. Original Focus ROM available now. But as a side note, you can not use another persons backup files on your phone. We tried that, but it doesn't work. Install the ROM or wait for the new Chevron unlocker to come out

There's a new chevron unlocked coming out? I thought they weren't going to develop anymore after that meeting with Microsoft

Yes, as you can read on their blog.
As announced on the Windows Phone Dev Podcast, we will soon be launching an approved Windows Phone unlocking service as part of ChevronWP7 Labs. This will be available to developers across all skill levels and all regions.
The service will require a small fee — currently via PayPal — to offset costs but we assure you it will be more affordable than the App Hub. Those who wish to write and immediately publish apps are recommended to sign up to the App Hub instead.

[Q] Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 problems

Hey guys,
I just used a flashtool to upgrade to android 2.1 today since the official upgrade isn't available yet. Everything is working well, except i'm not able to use 3g. Is there anyone out there who might be able to help me remedy this problem, or at least tell me what I probably did wrong? I'd really appreciate it.
The official upgrade is out there. Plug your phone into your computer and update from the se software
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I have the X10a. and whenever I plug it in to use the PC companion for upgrade it said my phone was up to date even with android 1.6. Was I missing something?
Alright i figured it out. I just needed to add the att apn infornation to the phone. Aftet that it worked like a charm
Helllp!
I have been trying to root my x10a. I managed to get to the point where superuser is on the phone but it does nothing. I tried to update the superuser as the message went something about 'bin v su' and update but the update failed. I tried to use superone click and got it to state that root files are in the phone now, but I tried to use titanium backup and it says must be rooted. I spent the last few days forum hopping to find a solution, downloaded SDK setup and all platforms and tried to manually put in code from the cmd.exe and it gives me something about adb is not recognized as a command. I googled the error and tried some of the recommended fixes at sxeveral sites, but I have had no luck with instituting superuser to full function. I am sure I am doing something wrong but I know I'm close. HEY YOU GUYS! (electric company on PBS)

The official upgrade is not out there in all markets. SE is setting a record for the time frame required to diseminate an upgrade globally. Comical.
You have to input the APN Settings for your carrier manually.
I do not understand and I intend upon putting 2.1 in it after its rooted, but it tells me that I need to flash into recovery for SU, but I can't back up the phone without proper root...or can I? Please more info. I generally do not ask for help, but I am in up to my nostrils with this and I want to succeed. I have tried superone click, I downloaded androot, but i CAN'T EVEN GET THAT TO RUN. Several others and manual. So do I flash from here? with no back up? and if so, how to flash to recovery, please. thanks.

If you are on 1.6, then SuperOneClick will not work. You need to be up to 2.1 for SuperOneClick to work. I do not know Androot though.
Thanks I will search how to input the APN and check in from here.
OK, I am trying to root my X10 and this is the first time that I have tried to do something like this. I am on step 2 of a guide which is to enable USB debugging and run 2_root_system, but every time I try to do it, it says "Error: Device not found" please help as I did the flash downgrade to start the process and my phone is really basic right now.
Thats very similar to the issue I'm having. Its related to the USB driver. However, I can't seem to find the USB driver to talk to the phone so that the root can be sideloaded to the phone.
im from india, i hav an unlocked at&t grey market piece. It shows on my PC companion dat d latest software is installed on d fone. how do i g8 it from 1.6 to 2.1 o betta?

I could not find any application that were able to do the task, I will continue searching and waiting until somebody, release the solution.
I am a newbie and I do not have yet the ability to do this.
Regards.
Does anybody has achived to unlock the nuvifone, or has found an application that can do it?.
Well after several months trying to find I solutions for unlocked my nuvifone, I decide to pay for get the unlock code.
I only have a question, I read on the pages that offer the unlock codes that if the phone is rooted, the code will not work, Does any one know if this is true?
It sounds weird to me, but better ask to make a mistake.
Best Regards.
hi i'm having some difficulty too. i downloaded the superone click app and went through the stages ie unmount the sd card etc, and at the end of installation a message came up that said i have been successfull in rooting my phone ( garmin a50 ). so the superuser icon appeared in the app draw and all looked good. i then downloaded and installed root uninstaller as well as set cpu. i managed to delete system apps and use the set cpu to adjust my speeds. but that's all, every other app that requires root access does not work and they all state that my device is not rooted. and busy box wont install. i also downloaded root checker and tested it and it also said my phone was not rooted.
z4root works just fine on the A50 (aka: Garminfone)
Root uninstaller will NOT remove most apps.
You can remove them manually.
Facebook, twitter, visual voice mail etc. can reside in a few different spots and will come back if not removed from all of them.
/Carrier/persist-app
/data/app
/system/app
and
/system/carrier/persist-app
You may find some of these files across different locations. facebook is in at least 2 or 3 of them.
those are the locations to manually go in and remove the bloatware from. Careful: it is immediate. only remove the bloatware, leave everything else or you can brick the phone and have to recover using the D-pad left to Wipe UserData trick to restore it.

HTC HD7

Hey guys so I just got an HTC HD7, I'm new to window phones this is my first one and I was looking for advice as far as customizing and getting the best experience out of my phone possible. Thanks in advance.
Well, if you want full control and don't mind getting your hands just a little dirty, you can install a custom ROM that will give you access to pretty much everything. The first step is to downgrade the bootloader using GoldCard; there are instructions on the Dev&Hacking sub-forum. The next step is ton install HSPL (probably you want the v3 for gen1 HTC phones version), which is the unlocked bootloader. Same forum. After that, you can install a custom ROM, which will generally all be posted under the HD7-specific forums.
If you want lots of control but want to stick with a stock ROM, things get a little trickier. You'll need two things: a firmware version of *.*.4XXXX.* or below, and a developer unlock. The first will probably require flashing a stock ROM, and then not immediately letting the phone update again. The second can be done a few either by buying an AppHub account from Microsoft, or by using DreamSpark to get a free one if you're a student. There is a third way, the original ChevronWP7 Unlocker, but it's a real pain in the ass to make it work now (it only worked on very old versions of the OS). Once you've got the compatible firmware version and your dev-unlock, install HTC Interop Unlock from Heathcliff74 and follow its instructions. Once interop-unlocked, install WP7 Root Tools (also by Heathcliff74) and follow its instructions. Both are on the dev&hacking subforum here. You now have "rooted" your phone and may mark apps as able to run with full permissions, plus you have full access to your phone's filesystem and registry.
As for apps, poke around the Dev&hacking, General, and Software Development subforums here. One good place to start is Bazaar, an alternate Marketplace app for WP7 that supports discovering, installing, and updating homebrew apps.

[Q] Can I install ICS WWE RUU stock?

My desire S is on Android 2.3 Gingerbread(official HTC). I would like to upgrade to the official ICS by HTC. I am from India. Can I update using the WWE RUU? Also, how can I backup my phone's data?
Thanks.

You can back up contacts, sms, etc with various apps from the Play Store.
To completely backup your system, you need to have Root access.
If you are going to install the ICS upgrade, I recommend you take some time to read the tutorials listed under the INDEX in "Android Development" forums. It will save you a lot of time, even if you spend several hours reading and getting to understand them.
Once you have that clear, you can root your phone, backup your system, create a goldcard and install the RUU.
If not convinced, just wait untill you get an OTA update, which shouldn't be long if your phone was unbranded!
- You can, as it is WW Edition
- To backup, you can use Titanium if you have rooted your phone
- Or you can make a backup from custom recovery

I am new to android 'hacking' so please forgive me for being extra cautious. I did search the threads here but I just wanted to confirm if the WW release can be used here in India because the downloaded file had 'Europe' in it's name.

Ah thank you. I have backed up all my data thanks to 'my databackup'. Every thing is in order. But before I take the final plunge, I would like to know what are my options if I am not satisfied with ICS and want to revert back to gingerbread? (I've heard about nandroid. Do I have other options?)
My Desire S is not currently rooted but I have no qualms doing it.
And the OTA will not be available for Desire S as confirmed by HTC. So no point of waiting any longer.

1. That EUROPE version release can be used as WWE (I think it stands for World Wide Edition or something). If it don't work, you can always use a GoldCard. Research about it.
2. You can always downgrade. There are numerous methods out there. Don't ask how to. Research again.
Bottom line:

Just updated. Everything is fine after update.
It would have required quite some research on the various aspects of backing up among others. I couldn't hold back anymore.

Rooting problem

Hi folks,
There was this wonderful guide on how to root a phone. Well, I'm stupid. I admit it.
I have NO idea what flashing means or what ROMing does...
regardless, my sole aim & purpose here was to figure out a way HOW to get my phone in a state, where i can delete ANY APPLICATION tmobile puts on my bloody phone that i don't want or need. much like getting a new HP laptop...i buy my own OS and delete everything and start from scratch...
so first i got my unlock code from tmobile...so my phone is unlocked...but i still can't delete any app
so guy next to me who i know and writes apps for android says i should root my phone
well i think i'm rooted...but can't confirm...
regardless, going through this process of rooting...it cleared out phone contents...which i knew it would...you know SD data, sim card data...photos, etc etc...
lol...well now i forgot what gmail ID i used to store all my phone contacts that sucks for me...
So HOW do i get my phone to a state where i can delete anything i want on my phone?!! Thx
Unlock bootloader, flash recovery e.g twrp (v 2.3.3 recommended, higher versions have problems) flash super user then download system tuner and delete the bloat or stuff u don't want under system tab

This guide makes it pretty easy.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24478083
Follow the steps to unlock bootloader, get a new recovery, and a custom Rom.
Customs Roms don't come with all that tmobile bloat. If you like Sense, try Viper One S.
Goodluck and enjoy the wonderful world of xda.

I don't know what a ROM is
But yes, I don't like ANY of the Tmobile bloated software...my INTENTION is to delete all the apps it puts on and just put my own on.
I also don't know what new recovery means.
I'm a guy that pretty much has used Win7 for ages & ages..this is my "realistically" first smartphone, because the "actual 1st" had a broken screen and didn't play with it much. All of this Android stuff is pretty new.
So yeah, I just like clean slates...I pretty much just want my phone to play the music I add on it, my Pandora & watch a few TV shows that I add to the phone via USB from my PC.
As a side question, is it OKAY to ask about "cracked" apps...meaning finding apps that are free but are normally billable..thanks.
Earlier this morning I did go to one of the threads here to start "rooting" but I don't know if I'm done or not...how do I know?
get to know xda, not just these threads--ck out the wiki
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Main_Page
i read and searched everything when i started
you cannot discuss cracked apps as the are illegal
if you are rooted you can dl and use apps like titanium backup and root explorer from market
all this takes time but effort like everything else we do
enjoy the advantages of being rooted
and once you are make a backup (nandroid) asap and a copy of your sdcard. put both on pc also
