Gtablet Web Browser Wars 3 - G Tablet General

GUIMark 2.0
Latest GUIMark takes advantage for Flash 10 and HTML 5, even better you don't need Flash to render results so I was able to add Firefox 4 to the mix.

Viewsonic G Tablet browser:
HTML5 | Flash scores are fps
Skyfire 1.68 | 11.1
xScope 1.69 | 13.22
Dolphin 1.68 | 13.57
Miren 1.72 | 13.98
Browser 1.74 | 13.67
Firefox 3.04 | wnr
Opera 8.13 | 11.26
Again Opera takes a title, if Firefox gets Flash working it will start contending better. All other browsers tied on HTML5. Flash 10 shows 3 similar scores on the top end and lower end. Browser looking good on Flash 10.
Motorola Droid X Froyo
Miren 1.41 | 6.7
Dolphin 1.64 | 6.94
Browser 1.62 | 8.62
Skyfire 1.68 | 12.71
xScope 1.67 | 13.37
Firefox 2.68 | wnr
Opera 3.78 | 11.88
Conclusive evidence that gaming Flash 10 on G tablet is the way to go. Dual core Nvidia Tegra Rocks at a blister 13.5 fps on half the web browsers.

Great info! Thanks

Interesting info. I like the small size of Opera but find it does some weird behavior on certain sites.
Dolphin is currently my "default" but Opera is much more clean UI.

I've noticed the same thing, Opera can be pretty finicky on the web. I want to make it my default browser, its a great desktop browser, full support for major platforms, great set of features. Just has to get bugs figured out. It was the default browser on my Nokia 770 back from 2005, one of the first great tablets.
I'm stuck between
Opera Mobile
Dolphin HD
Browser
but really want Firefox to mature and join the club of Flash supported mobile browsers. Long overdue.

Have fun!
Edit:
Strange Version though, no flash support -.- But the interface is really fast!
It's pretty big! Even with the build in A2SD it's 14MB or so, but pretty cool all the same. Thanks!
I dig its speed, but I do not dig its rendering lag when using pinch to zoom.
Preciate you!good look. Downloaded it just in case they decide to pull it down

Works pretty well. Rendering is noticeably better than the mini version.
Gosh, it's quick and stable for a beta. However, the rendered images are a bit compressed. Why is that?

Pinch to zoom is working for you? It is not for me
Actually, I will be frank. The pitch to zoom works really well, and the rendering lag on my Hero is less than 2 seconds. So I don't feel much punch anyway.
Was rendering the BBC News UK Site.
It's in the market know

What is the difference between mini and this one?
Thanks for the heads up. Downloading from the market now.

Downloaded from Market on my Galaxy Tab (20 MB install !!).
Crashes instantly on startup, despite being on Droid Wall WIFI whitelist. Oh well....I'm happy with Dolphin HD and xScope anyways
EDIT: ah, apparently it doesn't crash in landscape mode !! See link below:

finally =D
this could probably be the point why i change to android now.
the opera mobile browser was always the best i found, not only fast in browsing, its even fast to handle, i mean, tab switching is so easy and fast, so much faster than on standard android browser, and i dont need pinch to zoom, cause opera mobile on winmo got so awsome one tap, double tab zoom...
i hope the android version will be like that too ))
gonna use it today..
Bad
stock browser is faster, renders better, supports flash, and DOES display non-latin fonts.
this one feels like the firefox beta... unstable and not for everyday use. hope the final is better i had huge expectation from the GPU acceleration support in opera.
Its way too huge. hopefully they shrink it down like firefox.
It doesn't work on GT540 Eclair.
wow am disappointed.
Was looking forward to this since I like syncing my desktop links with my mobile rowser and the availability of organizing bookmarks into folders.
But on first pass, this thing is VERY beta. Images would not load, pages loaded slower than the stock browser and it just felt buggy overall. Feels more like an alpha release than beta. Hope they can improve it.

It was opera "mini"
To be honest, I find it a bit lame and slow. The only plus side for most users will be that it does have pinch to zoom. But aside that it might be pretty it really is not a step up from stock. Try the muiu browser it is a bit faster but more intuitive.
Loving it
I find this version is a bit slow on loading, but when the page is fully loaded there is no equal for panning around and reflowing text. However, this is the first beta and functionality can only increase from here! I'm just glad to have my Opera Link back! The functionality is better than stock imo, but the Desire Browser is still the best experience I've had on the Nexus. Although I'm trying out Cyanogen 6.1-RC1 and will be using Opera from now on
I've tried to install it but if failed (because of low memory) and now 5MB disappeared... and even after 5 reboots and deliting few caches i still can't return them
I really like it!
It fast, and beautiful.

The miui browser can't block ads. I can add a urlfilter.ini file to Opera Mobile the same way I can with Opera on my desktop and ads are blocked.
Working on getting it to use a custom style to reflow the page so that blocked ad space is used and not just a bunch of empty negative space. That part isn't working so well

Android version is still 7. 8. 0. 95 not 8.
Drunk texted from my CM7 Bolt.
Just got it from else where ... can't find any kind of link to v 8 beta anywhere on their site.
Anyway, installed it and subsequently installed Gnote. Gnote asked for permissions and I opted for this new UC browser. Guess what ... it took me to a page for Grant / Deny access with an email id already filled in!!!

@ abhishekkjain care to explain?

Yeah. 8 is on the market now, but not as an update. It's a separate download.

Browser Performance in Sunspider (wow, Firefox really sucks)

Throught I would try out Opera, Firefox and the stock Gingerbread browser.
Shocked at how bad Firefox is. It's 5x slower than the other two...
Opera came out in top (unsurprisingly, it it always feels the fastest and smoothest), followed by stock, followed by Firefox ALONG way back (5x slower).
I didn't bother with Dolphin, as it will benchmark the same as stock, as it uses stock browser under the covers.
Tested on Xperia Arc S.

Opera has experience in mobile devices, they were always the best browser on Windows Mobile. Back in those days devices has a lot less powerful hardware.
Heres what I got on my Droid 3:
Dolphin HD 3755.3ms
Browser 2.3.4 3675.3ms
Opera Mobile 1979.0ms
Firefox 1955.8ms
I'm not sure why Firefox is so slow on your phone. It does take a bit more RAM than the others.
I would like to see ICS with Chrome and the Stock, they've come quite a ways. Maybe later I'll try it on my Touchpad, but I think something with stock ICS like the Gnex may give better results.
Here is what i got on my Touchpad running cm9.
Chrome 2915.1 ms
Firefox 2454.2 ms
Stock 4.0.3 2844.5 ms
Stock 4.0.3 2784.6ms
Chrome beta 0.16 2776.5ms
Opera 11.5.5 3135.4ms

opera12 1619
firefox 1650
dolphin 1940
Stock 4441.4 ms
Maxthon 3584.4ms
Opera Mobile 2827.5ms
tested on my Desire HD with Android Revolution HD 7.0.2, kernel 2.6.35.14-LorDmodNCT-5.0-CFS+.
Side note, I get 4000 ms on IE 8 32-bit at work.
