HI,
I've recently installed russian rom from i-mate on my wizard. However, I have a problem with the sliding keyboard. The problem is that when I start typing using the slide out keyboard it types in latin letters (English). However, once I press the dot key (key used for changing to symbol typing) it starts typing using cyrilic letters (russian). And then there is no way to change it back. Only the soft reset can change it back to latin(english). But after pressing the dot key the problem occurs again.
Is there any way to be able to change the language back to english? Or remove the russian language at all so that I could always use latin letters.
Thanks
I thought I turned all T9 and word completion off everywhere I found, but still when writing SMS I see this bar at bottom of the screen echoing my typing. It also has + sign on right.
So this is T9 right? How the hell do I get rid of it?
Hi Taajuus,
I have a 'T9' printed on the SPACE key of the slide out keyboard, you can reach through the 'FN' key.
So in SMS typing mode with the slide out Keyboard, press FN - Space, a pop up menu appears where you can configure T9 settings.
Hope that helps
T.
There should be a slider on the actual on-screen keyboard itself to deselect T9. Give that a shot.
Yes! That did the trick, thank you!
Still there was no option to simple tick off T9, but i chose ABC and my problem was solved

Brilliant this has been annoying me too... as usual a simple answer to the most annoying problems...
I just bought a Touch Pro in China and it came from Taiwan. The keyboard is Chinese. It differs from the English one mainly in that the SMS button (next to Fn) is desinated as a Chinese/English IME toggle. Because I wanted an English OS, they reflashed it with English and then added Chinese entry method (Chinese Star). So I still want to be bale to enter Chinese and having a hard-wired toggle woule be great. But since it is English ROM now when I push the toggle key, it fires up SMS instead.
Is there a way to change the keyboard so when I push that button it switched the entry method in Chinese Star from Chinese to English and vice versa? I installed PQzII but could not see how to make that work. I am a newbie when it comes to WM as I just switched from Palm.
Thanks for your help.
I don't know if PQzII will work for toggling Chinese IME since was originally designed for Japanese IME. But you can give it a shot:
1) Download and run PQz_Check: http://www.nicque.com/PQz/PQz_CHECK.htm (make sure PQzII isn't running while you use PQz_Check)
2) Press the key you want to use as the toggle, and make a note of the key code (it should be something like 0xE6)
3) Close PQz_Check, then open up PQzII_Setup. Scroll over to the IME tab at the bottom, then type in the key code into the IME option.
You should be able to press the button to toggle the IME. If it doesn't work, you'll either have to try other key combinations in PQzII, or try to find a different program.
I have a problem. I have HTC G1 (dream) and writting in polish is pain in ass. Every time i want to put a polish sign in text i have to long press keyboard button (software and hardware keyoboard). I want to buy asus transformer, but there will be the same problem. I was thinking that maybe there is an app for changing ALT directions in android (g1 has a Alt button, bot for shortcuts and other symbols like "|" but not for polish signs (sic!)) but i found nothing on forum, and on market. Maybe you have some ideas?
Hey,
does anyone know how to disable the seperate key on the lollipop keyboard if you have more than one input language enabled? It used to be possible to disable it from keyboard settings, but i can not find that option anymore. But you can still switch languages with the space key, so it only takes up space.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
Anybody? I was looking for an answer to this too and ended up here. There's literally 3 ways to do this directly from the keyboard in L. There's the language switch button next to the space bar, the new soft key on the bottom right next to the multi tasking button, and there's long pressing the space bar itself. I'm all for some redundancy, but this is just wasteful and space consuming.
At the very least, bring the option back from kitkat to turn off the language switch key to the left of the space bar. I'd love that space freed up again.
I would really like to know as well, SwiftKey is lagging terribly so I am using Goggle keyboard for now, but holy crap that language switch button is annoying! I keep pressing it instead of comma because I need both English and danish when i type
Looking around but nothing found I was thinking to move to another keyb waitnig for an update.
Thats's very 'idiot' to propose three ways then also the switch by the space is easy to press by mistake
The added key by the multitaks is great
This is very annoying for me when using swiftkey. I accidently always swipe over this keyboard button. It would be really helpful to disable this button as it was in kitkat.

+1
Google please fix this
Im having the same annoying issue
I have a moto g and Im agree is stupid have 3 ways to change languages
I too ended up here while looking for ways to disable the annoying language switch button. I could understand its function if we didn't have the long-press option of the space bar to switch languages, but it's ridiculous to not have an option to hide the button.
So... Still no solution?
Maybe if someone is able to decompile the google keyboard.apk and disable it from there, I don't know. It's very funny that Google developers doesn't use 1+ languages in their tests, otherwise they'll know.
Language & input -> Current keyboard -> Choose Keyboards -> Turn off any enabled keyboards (you will not be able to disable Google Keyboard)

Not sure what you mean. We are talking about Google keyboard with multiple languages enabled because we want to use more than 1 language.
When you have multiple languages enabled, the "Switch keyboard" icon appears.
Your solution doesn't work, the language switched button still appears on the keyboard.
I had this same problem when i had the A.I. Type keyboard installed and the issue disappeared entirely when I uninstalled it.
