chinese keyboard - Touch Pro, Fuze General

I just bought a Touch Pro in China and it came from Taiwan. The keyboard is Chinese. It differs from the English one mainly in that the SMS button (next to Fn) is desinated as a Chinese/English IME toggle. Because I wanted an English OS, they reflashed it with English and then added Chinese entry method (Chinese Star). So I still want to be bale to enter Chinese and having a hard-wired toggle woule be great. But since it is English ROM now when I push the toggle key, it fires up SMS instead.
Is there a way to change the keyboard so when I push that button it switched the entry method in Chinese Star from Chinese to English and vice versa? I installed PQzII but could not see how to make that work. I am a newbie when it comes to WM as I just switched from Palm.
Thanks for your help.

I don't know if PQzII will work for toggling Chinese IME since was originally designed for Japanese IME. But you can give it a shot:
1) Download and run PQz_Check: http://www.nicque.com/PQz/PQz_CHECK.htm (make sure PQzII isn't running while you use PQz_Check)
2) Press the key you want to use as the toggle, and make a note of the key code (it should be something like 0xE6)
3) Close PQz_Check, then open up PQzII_Setup. Scroll over to the IME tab at the bottom, then type in the key code into the IME option.
You should be able to press the button to toggle the IME. If it doesn't work, you'll either have to try other key combinations in PQzII, or try to find a different program.

Slide out keyboard language.Help needed...

HI,
I've recently installed russian rom from i-mate on my wizard. However, I have a problem with the sliding keyboard. The problem is that when I start typing using the slide out keyboard it types in latin letters (English). However, once I press the dot key (key used for changing to symbol typing) it starts typing using cyrilic letters (russian). And then there is no way to change it back. Only the soft reset can change it back to latin(english). But after pressing the dot key the problem occurs again.
Is there any way to be able to change the language back to english? Or remove the russian language at all so that I could always use latin letters.
Thanks

Japanese QVGA IME - Help!!

Hi All,
I have been trying to get japanese input working on my Raphael, and have run into some problems. Here's what I have done:
1. Installed LesJapanNo6 - all working/tested no problems
soft reset
2. Installed IME_31J_QVGA_F file
soft reset
-> manila.exe error, device.exe error, and another exe error (can't remember now - think it was TouchFlo3d related). Hardware keys dead.
3. Made the registry edit to get hardware keys working
soft reset (note, regional settings still Japanese)
After that, every time I would try and input something, or change the input method, I get ongoing crashes in device.exe (until I closed the kayboard).
I then decided to change the regional setting back to English (UK), and then soft reset. Now it starts with no errors, but input is stuck on hiragana and the keyboard icon has disappeared so no standard romaji input.
I think I now have to install the enable_ime_2 and/or enable_ime_3 cabs, but am paranoid I have already done something wrong (crashes etc from step 2). Can anyone more experienced hint at the final steps to get this all working?
Thanks,
Raj
The steps you have above should work fine, but use the VGA version:
http://rapidshare.com/files/159514259/IME_31J_F.cab.html
You might need to go ahead and hard reset before you try again.
Just for reference, I have LetsJapanNo6 and IME_31J_F on my Raphael 1.90.405.1 WWE (UK stock ROM), with the following reg tweaks applied:
Code:
[HKCU\Keyboard Layout\Preload]
default = "E0010411"
[HKCU\Keyboard Layout\Preload\1]
default = "E0010411"
[HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\IMEJP\3.1\MSIME]
Option3 = "D"
[HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e0010411]
Keyboard Layout = "00000409"
Word of caution: when you go to edit the reg values, highlight the text and write over it; don't use the backspace key, because for some reason it inserts a lot of garbled text. Once you've saved the reg edits and soft-reset, the backspace key functions as normal again.
Also consider using PQzII to map keycode 0xE6 to IME; this will allow you to press the SYM key on the hardware keyboard to toggle between ascii (A→a) and kana (A→あ) input.
Other known issues: JP IME breaks T9/word suggestion, some other minor oddities.
SoftBank is releasing its version of the Raphael, so be on the lookout for a native JP ROM (which will have everything set up correctly) in the future.
Working perfectly now, fantastic!!!
Thanks!!!
I tried to map the SYM button to IME. But there is no way for me to specify 0xE6 in the IME menu.
is the new Raphael PQzII different?

I typed it in.
I'm using 008e1, but the latest e2 should be fine.
I have had this working for about a month now but was wondering how to get a keyboard shortcut to switch the kana/romanji input. This works perfect.. thanks!!!
thanks!!!
just a shot question:
as I use the hw-kb of my xperia for inputting text, it would be cool to have the tegaki-kb as standard one. Whenever I set it in Windows Mobile-Settings, it gets switched back to romaji-kb on restart.
is there a reg-hack for this?
would greatly appreciate your help!!!

It might be a problem with Xperia Panels resetting it to romaji-kb (TouchFlo3D does the same thing on the Touch Pro).
If you use PQzII, you can configure it to override the default input panel. You can even specify different default panels for portrait and landscape. Just open up the setup program (PQzII_Setup) and the settings is on the first page.
nevermind, got everything working!
thanks!

Keyboard Problem after ROM update

Hi,
I just updated my ROM, from original Dutch stock ROM to ROMeOS v1.22 (ENG).
Everything is working just fine. Only when I want to write a SMS I cannot use my shift button to use the icons above the numbers. I can only use them with the FN key, and is not that functional. Is there a way to enable the shift button to use the number incons like [email protected]#?
I'm having the same problem after updating to EnergyROM 2.0 41609
My keyboard has always worked like that and I've always assumed that behaviour to be normal. Also, the symbols above the numbers are in green, suggesting that the Fn button is supposed to be used.
Advanced config or keymap issue
Have you tried installing the keymap for your phone or using the advanced config to change the keyboard layout?
AAA now I mean by why the longer lasting members want you to search lol. Go into total commander (or any other registry editor) go into HKLM->HARDWARE->DEVICEMAP->KEYBD->CWSLayout. The value for the stock Touch Pro keyboard is 0, for the AT&T Fuze is 1. I'm not sure about other carriers (if they do change the keyboard). If its different than the stock TP keyboard find the value for your keyboard.

Automatically toggle dictionary/input method

Does anybody know of a tweak/hack or program that will allow the following:
When entering text I typically use the phone keypad with XT9 enabled. When I get to a word that isn’t recognised, I’d like to be able to automatically (or with one toggle) convert the keyboard to QWERTY with XT9 disabled.
For example the current button that switches between XT9 and ABC could automatically switch to phonekeypad when ‘XT9’ is selected and full QWERTY when ‘ABC’ is selected. Similarly, when you get to an unrecognised word and hit the + sign to enter a new word in the dictionary, it would be far more user friendly if QWERYT automatically opened when inputting the word, and switched back to phone keypad XT9 once you fnished.
I realise that this may seem particularly lazy, but I really think it would help the ergonomics. It’s quite hard to switch to no dictionary and then hit that small arrow with your fingernail to bring up the change the input method options.
Any ideas?

How to disable auto-complete, word suggestions and XT9 on Topaz

Hi everybody!
I'm actually using Dutty's HolyGrail R1 Rom for topaz, and for a long time (since original rom) I've been looking for a way to get rid of all the autocomplete and xT9 services on my TD2. The only thing I want is to freely type whatever I want without any kind of suggestions or corrections . I've tried the Advanced Configuration Tools to tweak this unsuccessfully. Does anyone knows how to do it?
Why not pressing the little XT9/ABC button on your device's keyboard and put the device in ABC mode? In that mode the topaz displays exactly whatever you type..
yea but this does not disable button, i want to disable button that it will be always in ABC mode, even if i press that button again, something like keyboard look when you type "To:" field (XT9 ABC) button is disabled...
Hi there
Have you tried using the Text Input Settings that you can find if you touch the Up arrow next to the Text Input Selector available whenever you can input text, ie, SMS or email entry?
You get a pop up menu which has Text Input Settings as an option. If you select that you get an options dialog that has a heading 'XT9 Settings' one of which is 'Word Completion (XT9)' with an On/Off slider button. Toggle this to Off and you should find that when the keyboard is presented you are now set in ABC mode with no option to toggle into XT9 mod.
Should point out that I am running a standard ROM with Manila 2.1.
Hope that helps?
