if your location doesn't use the same radio frequencies that AT&T does you'll never connect to anything but edge
Check settings>wireless networks > mobile networks > network mode. Try different options...goodluck
I recommend you to go here and check that your carrier has the same frequency bands that AT&T.

Boss i checked the gsm baseband frequency in my country. and its showing gsm900/1800 mhz.
wht i hv to do..?????

yes.. the net frequency of my carrier is :GSM 900/1800, W-CDMA 2100
and its vodafone qatar
That WCDMA band refers to 3G (or 4G / H+ as AT&T calls it). The Inspire uses 850 or 1900 MHz frequencies for 3G. It uses the 850/900/1800/1900 MHz frequencies for 2G or EDGE (GSM) which is why you're seeing EDGE connections with the phone. T-Mobile is the major US carrier using the 2100 MHz frequency for 3G. The Inspire simply isn't capable.

Hi folks, I using SNS form 4 months. I am not able to see any option related 3G data option in "Mobile Network Settings" screen.
I am in India.
Android Version 2.3.3
My network provider operates GSM Tri-band (GSM 900/1800/1900) or Quad-band (GSM 850/900/1800/1900).
Any additional information also appreciative.
the original model i9020 only works on 1700/2100 for 3G
and quad band for voice
possibly that's why you are unable to get 3G
you might want to sell it and get the AT&T version of SNS that operates on the 850/1900 for 3G
mine is i9020 but it will support for quad band 900 and my network provider is operating at Quad 900. If I am wrong correct me please.

the AT&T version is the I9020A and should work on the proper frequencies. Keep in mind that voice and data use separate bands.
well true

it does suppose to work on 900 for 3G
did you configure the APN settings for your cell phone provider?
By default APN's are configured by network provider. I am getting only EDGE connection. I have tried with *#*#4636#*#* and tried to change preferred network type to "WCDMA only" and "WCDMA Preferred" where default network type is "GSM/CDMA auto". But everything is in vain.
My network provider is Airtel. Any suggestions?
"My network provider operates GSM Tri-band (GSM 900/1800/1900) or Quad-band (GSM 850/900/1800/1900)."
You have given us only the network's GSM bands. Not the 3G ones.
If it DOES support 3G, then check those bands. If it doesn't support 3G, then, well... it's pretty obvious why it doesn't work.
So yesterday I flashed this phone to ICS, its great, thanks guys!
However, I have a question about radio (I'm a software guy not a hardware guy).
Apparently, this phone supports Triple band UMTS 1700 1900 2100 MHz.
Rogers Wireless in Canada 'operates on the frequencies of 850/1900 MHz'
So, why can't I connect to Rogers Wireless with 3G speeds on the 1900mhz band? Does the phone require both 850 and 1900 MHz UMTS to operate 3G on a 850/1900MHz network?
The best connection I can get is EDGE and it's painfully slow...I bought this phone before I had a data plan with Rogers, so I never quite realized this issue...I guess I could just switch to WIND I just want to understand why it cant operate 3G over the 1900MHz band
3g needs 2 bands, one for upload and one for download. And that's why most phones, for example, bringing to the T-mo network you won't get 3g/ 4g speeds since it would need both the 1700/2100 bands and not a whole lot of non T-mo phones have these bands. So in your case a phone to run on Rogers with 3g would need both the 850 and 1900 bands.
the hardware should be able to operate at those frequencies but its software locked to 1700/2100 or 2100 mhz, so if you want 3g/hspa you must be on an operator which uses one of those 2 frequencies

how do i software unlock it? Does cid uunlocking do this?
Although I haven't use it, I often see 4G Rogers data connection when I'm in Wind's "away" zone. Assuming there are no other models of MT4GS (with different radios) I'm rather sure this phone can use Rogers 3G network.
Hi,
i am planning to buy this mobile
https://negrielectronics.com/htc-sensation-xe-unlocked-white.html
i can see that this is a Australian model.
Network band : GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900,HSPA 900/AWS/2100
I am kinda of sure that indian networks use 2100MHZ for 3g and my T mobile HD2 worked perfectly with 3g
Does this mean this Sensation XE will also work because it does support 2100MHZ?
Also what is the difference between HSPA and HSDPA?
And this AWS is something to be concerned ?

HSDPA : High Speed Downlink Packet Access
HSDPA is basically 3G at higher speeds and often called 3G+ or 3.5G
HsDPA is to 3G as Edge is to GPRS
Now as for your other question, yes, to the best of my knowledge, most frequencies are supported on the XE.
I get my ATT Skyrocket from a friend last year.Phone is unlocked in Germany.I am facing a problems with signal after i install CyanogenMod 10.2,he is losing from time to time, people who calling me get message that i am unvailable, and i dont get every SMS message.I live in Bosnia and Herzegovina and a wonder is there any solutions for my problem.I am reading that can be phones radio/modem problem.Do i need to change phones baseband or radio/modem,does it supports CM 10.2 KitKat,is that causing my problems...Sorry on my bad english.Grateful.
Skyrocket has the following frequency bands:
2G NetworkGSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G NetworkHSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
4G NetworkLTE 700 MHz Class 17 / 1700 / 2100
After some searches I found 900/1800 MHz bands work for Bosnia so you're out of luck as far as your 3G or LTE.
You should lock the phone on 2G network and that should give you solid/uninterrupted signal.
Go to settings -> mobile networks -> Network operators
It will scan for a while keep the screen on until it finishes scanning the local networks. Choose your carrier from the list. Once it is accepted go back to Network Modes and change it to GSM.
Good luck
Please no PM's !

LTE with Vodafone in Spain
Hi,
I am traying to use my Skyrocket from ATT in Spain. I have it unlock and it is rooted. I am in a 4G LTE area and I only get 4G and not LTE. My spped is around 10 mg. My sister has a Galaxy s4 and she gets full LTE around 40 mg. Any help would be appreciate it.
Thanks

So i just bought a LG G PRO 2 checked it everything seemed to work fine
But then i realized the network connection drops every few mins and reconnects only to a G signal (2G)
so upon further investigation i discover that the band frequency on this model is CDMA eg. USA + Canada
To say im P*&^ed off is an understatement clearly the person who sold me this is aware and is now ignoring any contact i try to make with him
I have contacted LG to see if i can possible purchase a motherboard for model D837 or D838 as i see this is my only option to get the device working
Unless anyone here can advise otherwise
Once i go into the band selection screen and disable CDMA bands it seems to sustain a stable connection but only to a 2G network haven't been into a 4G area as of yet to test but it is completely incapable of connection to a 3G frequency within the uk which i will be connected to 80% of the time
not 100% with the F350 but the frequencies for it should be:
2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz
3G: UMTS 2100 MHz
4G: LTE 850 / 1800 MHz
2G is fine, as UK uses 900/1800.
3G: all UK networks at 2100.
4G: only EE/3 use the 1800MHz frequency. no-one uses 850 in UK.
look around the forum for the secret menu and see if you need to enable 3G/4G manually. or do a manual firmware update.
,My Wife has an F320S (G2)and she can enable all Bands in the Hidden Menu and works fine in Europe in Austria.Network Operator is Three (HG3).
I think the F350S is the same.
Go to Dialer and tipe 5457#*350#
in Modem Settings can you aktivate all Bands what you need
I hope this works for you.
Thanks for the reply guys
There's loads of settings in the hidden menu
I cant see how changing anything in here will help as it is a CDMA device which means it physically does not have the necessary hardware to connect to a 3G network in the UK
As it uses a totally different technology than UMTS
Ive discovered at WCDMA is actually UMTS so i cant see why it doesn't work ?

Those are the default settings that the device is on so no joy with that thanks anyway
using my EE sim signal drops frequently using my daughters O2 sim it seems to sustain a connection but again only to 2G network
Clearly the problem is the WCDMA bands on the device are 850 / 1900 / 2100 while 2100 is used here 900 is the more widely available and thus incompatible with device
I think my only option is to sell it on but to who its no use to anyone in the UK really
