hello sirs/madams, i am a current O1 user, and im looking at this beast, or the nexus S. i was on our sister subfourm (2X) and noticed i posted in the wrong one :/. does this phone have the exact same issues with BSOD, and black lockscreens?
some people have it not all... either way how much in a rush of getting this phone are you? Basically would you be willing to wait a couple months for the Galaxy Nexus.

No big rush, just don't want to pay out the ass for it.

The wind version of the same as the T-Mobile one but doesn't have any of the issues. Except very minor screen bleed. You probably remember me from the u8100. I would recommend this phone to you unless you want to wait for the galaxy nexus.

I'm no pro compared to Faux123 and morfic and cm_arcee over here. They have God-like skills compared to me.

I just picked up a g2x in near mint condition (one nick near the charging port) for $200.
Coming from a galaxy s 4g the only thing I miss is the super amoled screen.
Every nexus s I ever messed with failed to impress me, they all seemed slow and laggy, so I would say you made a good choice.

Nexus S.
ICS can be easily ported to the NS. With the G2x you have the risk of an ICS not working properly because NVIDIA doesn't release drivers.
I've never used the Nexus but I'll give you my thoughts on the G2X.
I'm a wind customer, and I only twice in about 2.5months now had the phone randomly shut down on me.
However, the stock Android kind of sucked. It's great at the beginning but as you install some more apps and start using it more and more it would start to lag and lag. Turning on WiFi would always give a slow down for some reason. Using youtube was a pain, videos would always be choppy.
2 days ago I decided I couldn't take it anymore so I installed Cyanmogen and the phone has been fantastic. No slowdowns even when doing more demanding stuff.
It's great!

im not to worried about ICS, just that this phone is really fast. atm, my 2 deal breakers between the 2 is:
-nfc (nexus s
-amoled(nexus s)
-hdmi(G2x)
-dual core(G2x)
i just want fast, and snappy. is the tegra 2 worth it? or is the nexus s nothing compared to the G2x?

I've seen the 2 screens side by side and the p999 is brighter on full than the nexus. The darks are slightly darker on the nexus but the whites are better on the p999. NFC isn't that big of a deal right now and I don't think many people or companies would use it in Canada for some time. The p999 is snappy ask the time, unless you are doing some really intense stuff. Battery lasts quite a bit for the usage compared to the u8100. I can't keep myself from using my phone. It is a joy to use.

Only time phone lag is when phone installs apps from the market( not when downloading) And only happened on stock roms sometimes.
Also don't forget to let us know your final decision.

Nice if you need anything pm me.
My g2x flies even with 650+ apps installed using link2sd. Im on phoenixblood rom with fauxs latest .0.4.8 ds kernel. Even tho that rom has been updated i dont see a need to flash the newer version because its been such a smooth great performing experience, especially with the stress i put my phone thru i dont see any lag. Glad to hear your loving your g2x see you around the forums.

NVidia is not very big on supporting their Tegra 2 platform and LG is terrible at supporting their phones. Screen bleeding issues seem common, I have a bleeding screen. I get the black screen of death occasionally. The black screen of death seems to be an issue with the OS and not the hardware.
If you don't mind third party support and likely a little screen bleed, this phone is worth every penny. Keep in mind that not every phone has screen bleed and that LG never said that the G2x will get an official ICS release, they just said that the Optimus 2X will. Many people think that includes G2x, but there really is no telling if that is true.
That said, once the Optimus 2X gets ICS (Q2 of 2012), a third party port for the G2x will probably come along whether LG releases ICS for the G2x or not.

All that really matters is that cm9 will be released for g2x and i doubt LG can do a better job then that!

What were the topics on the G2X that stood out for you in 2011?
Mine were laughing at another battery post..
Mine would have to be a mix between the battery posts, the early screen issue posts, and the more recent ICS rumors. The ICS ones were funny mostly because everyone was saying that LG announced ICS or the G2x when all LG said was that is was coming to the P990 (O2x).
Do I need to wipe? A question asked far too much.

Ya, 4, 5, and 7 have pretty much ruined my first smartphone experience. I waited for this phone when I decided to make my first purchase and I got hosed. My next purchase will definitely be after something has been out for a couple of months.. I went against my only rule on new tech... Watch the boards, then if necessary, wait for the 2nd manufacturing run.. LG and Nvidia have lost all of my future smartphone purchases.

I'm in the market for a new phone and I've been looking at these two phones and I am really torn between them. They both have good battery life and I like the feel of both of them. The only down side about the moto x for me is that I can't use the moto maker option for Verizon which is depressing. So I basically just want to hear from people who have had hands-on with these devices and would be will on giving me input to help me out. Anything would be appreciated thanks!

actually if want to buy mobile phone for like development purpose i never suggest Samsung coz they know nothing about making high end phones
though nexus 5 and lg g2 are manufactured by the same company lg g2 will be better the main reason is that the lg g2 is having IR blaster but the nexus hasn't so i personally suggest LG G2!!!!
sorry for my English..
Thanks for the input I decided to get the L2 G2

It's been about a year since my Infuse has been decommissioned and even after the hours of trying to fix it from a temporary brick I still miss it. I miss all the familiar faces, especially you Andros.. I now have an Sprint LG Optimus G with some of the most devoted and amazing developers I've ever seen and I'm so happy to have this device. Good bye Infuse.
