I only heard that they were planning on it to be as innovative and ground breaking as WM 6 , 6.1 and 6.5.
Stop being so mean people, he's new. Jeez.
No, Windows Mobile 7 will not be released anytime soon. The problem is that 6.5 hasn't even been officially released, and what I mean by that is that they release phones with it included, so therefore, 7 will not be released soon.

+ he's not new been around since dec 08, that's not far off me so am i a noob?
"That is 4-5 months is not long?"
Please search before creating a new thread.
WM7 facts are far and few between but we know there will be no official 6.5 for the Kaiser, so don't expect anything offical WM7 wise.
When WM7 builds start leaking we'll start trying to get it working on the Kaiser for sure.
Til' then, I'll close this before the regulars start revolting (actually they are pretty revolting already )

Nice. I hit their Legal department last night with a strongly worded email and they replied this morning that they were going to post the source! Looks like they actually did! I must share a name with someone important, haha.
Thank god, I'm sick of tweeting to them something about releasing the kernel source for us lol.
This is great news though!
Awesome! Can't wait for the custom kernal guys to get their teeth into this

That's awesome...this is Good News
Bit of a newbie here with a simple question
What can we expect out of this ??
what kind of stuff can be done with this that hasn't already been done? Like transformer specific bug fixes and stuff? More stable OC kernels?
Either way its exciting because I've seen a lot of people looking forward to this so it can only mean good things for us users!! Thanks devs!

Hell ya! And to the people asking what can be done with this, real OC kernels can be made now, and possibly fix the error when using the dock and not showing that battery.
Very,very good news

Official ICS is coming!

Check it out!

Korean LG says ICS is in testing phase, that's awesome news for us!
Nice, thanks for posting
Finally (maybe) no more limping ICS builds here.
Ya, let's hope one of the devs are still around when it's released =P
This sounds too good to be true... Especially because I can't read Korean...
LG is having a laugh at their customers' expense. I've never seen a company SO inept at just giving a fscking "YES" or "NO" answer about a product.
Oh please oh please don't lie to us or we will just continue to beg you more!! write letters, social media, and petition. I meed a break from all this buddy

I posted this in another thread but our good friend Paul O'Brien's sources say it's "imminent" for the 2X
The will-it-wont-it saga over the Ice Cream Sandwich updates for LG devices has been rolling on for months, but now, thankfully, we've had word from our LG insider on what's REALLY happening!
The news is good. Ice Cream Sandwich updates are nearing completion and will be released imminently for the Optimus 2X, Optimus 3D and Optimus Black! Exact dates are still not forthcoming, but we'll keep you posted with more news as we get it.
I'm really happy for LG users that this is going to happen, the support so far has been pretty shocking and LG really could do with turning it around.

Well here's hoping the LG Insider is right. If he is that means fully supported ICS for the T-Mo G2X once the devs get their hands on it. Not that I am complaining at all about HFP but it would be nice to run a fully supported ICS on the G2X.
Seems I heard this a few times before. I'll believe it when I see... Wait. I got rid of my G2x.
But just for arguments sake that this is true. They are in a testing phase. Which means the earliest this would be release to T-Mobile is what, Jan-Feb. and then they have to test it. So what, the 2 year anniversary of the device? I got my G2x on pre-order. It's been dead. Sorry, but I can't see this being offered as an official update.
No place in the article does it mention an "official update" coming. Seems the articles writer is jumping the gun in this one.
It won't ever be official for TMobile..suppose to be just for Korean o2x correct? But that's when devs can try and port it for those of us remaining hopeless souls
Another article I have found on this: http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/14/lg-confirms-optimus-2x-ics-korea/

Just trying to be helpful If we can find a Korean O2x user...
We've got smart devs around here, it'll be done for sure. The code isn't going to be in Korean. The only issue is it'll be for the P990 variant...
They have had a working build with their own 3xxx kernel for months. Let us say i have a REALLY good source.

[Q] Why are there no fully-functional ICS ROMs if the source code has been released?

Why are there no fully-functional ICS ROMs if the source code has been released?
Sorry if this has been answered deep within another thread. I couldn't find it. Please make it easy and answer if you know. Thanks!
The source code was released for the SU660. while the SU660 is similar to the G2x, it is not identical. There is still a good bit of work involved in getting it functioning on our phone. The people who can make it work are diligently working on it, it just takes time.
Hope this clears it up

been crawling through the g2x forums. its as if all everything stalled for this phone at the end of Oct. I understand the source code for cm10 has been released for the su660 and that it will only be a matter of time until we get something. idk. G2x is now an "old" phone. how long do Devs really work on a phone before they get tired of it? seems to me that dev like to stay cutting edge....g2x is now the dull part of that cutting edge. I love my G2X. no doubt. and i hope that someone will keep dev for it. i may have to start teaching myself this stuff just so i can make custom roms after everyone else moves on lol.:fingers-crossed:
