again not responsible for anything on your phone and thank you to all and any dev on xda or off your all great
Did you really create that kernel with BFS 300 and the 10MB hack? If not, you should really give credit where it is due.
Edit: Just to clarify for the haters, I meant no disrespect with that question. I'm going to load this up and see what it's got. I'm sure it's pretty fast with what you posted about it. And thanks for mentioning me in your list of thank you's.
Edit 2: I'm not going to respond to any more of the junior members who think they are tough guys.
Screenies please
Your critsizing him already? Way to help the community. Obviously this thread was rushed and just to get this rom out there. Cut the man some slack..christ. I don't exactly see where he took credit for anything other then putting out the room. Sounds good. Good work.

How is asking him if he created the kernel criticizing him? If he did, I will give him tons of respect. There are maybe half a dozen people on this forum that have the knowledge to do that without using someone elses work. Quit looking for drama.

lol, you guys are a trip...I welcome new development here on XDA..throw a copyright on your "thank to the devs" lol
Downloading and will flash in a few minutes. Wonder if i need Twisted's port to use this on my MT...most G1 roms seems to work anyhow
when he says ext3 i am assuming he means your ext. partition, so just clear that and it should boot up good

I welcome it too. I just wanted to make sure it was "new" development and not someone recycling other peoples work. Like I said I will give him the benefit of the doubt and load it up.

Yes it did, because people like me that ONLY check this forum for new hero roms wouldn't have known about it being on these forums. Kind of silly that the moment got it before the Hero.

[REQ]-giving credit in the 2.2 ROMs

I notice that noobnl, whosdaman, and Firon are getting uber credit for the leaked 2.2 beta.
I'm requesting that everyone also please give credit/honorable mention to "evilpeople" as well. Evilpeople gave the ROM up to noobnl originally and without this initial contribution, we may all be still waiting for some 2.2 goodness.
Just sayin'.. if we're gonna give credit, we should include the original source.
Ok..

.... ok +1, worthless thread. del3te!
Nah I actually second this.
Evil was put through alot of flaming and such just for releasing the beta he had to a trusted developer instead of the whole community for a good reason. (Involvement with his source and such) Its in a thread a couple pages back.
I think he deserves credit as well. He got flamed alot and fact is, without em, We wouldn't have the Froyo beta right now.
My apologies... since I uploaded my version rather than the general release version it got shut down, but I'm reposting and as soon as it uploads and will give credit to him/her as well...

Yea true noobnl and especially whosdaman did nothing.
Evilpeople should be the ONLY one getting credit... Maybe firon can get an honorable mention.

Whoa no no.. Thats wrong lol.
Noobnl and a few other dev's took the Beta that Evilpeople provided to Noobnl and made it actually usable to the state we have it in now.
The beta Evil gave him I believe wasn't very usable.
So they all deserve credit as well.

[DEV] HeroC ICS 4.0.1 Development

Re-purposing this thread for those who are engaged in porting ICS 4.0.1 to HeroC.
Please try to keep this thread clean and restrict posts to topics relevant to getting ICS ported to the HeroC. It will make it much easier to focus on the effort at hand if we can refrain from the usual "When will it be done"; "Yay!"; "I know this isn't the right place"; "10char / +1" and "Me too!" posts.
If you have a burning need to express your joy, dismay, ambivalence or random thoughts, consider sending a PM, which I will make a best effort attempt to respond to within 180 days, time and weather permitting.

Well I got the source synced and I moved some of the heroc stuff from cyanogenmod but still having some problems with lunch.
Code:
build/core/combo/TARGET_linux-arm.mk:39: *** Unknown ARM architecture version: armv6j. Stop.
Looks like it'll take a little more work before getting it to compile. I haven't had time to look at anything yet, took forever to get the source. But looks like we might have to port it to armv6 as google only worked on armv7 builds. I'll work on it more tonight, but I'm sure the real devs will have it compiling by then

Yeah, I'd be able to find a sound fix if I did.
How's the battery life compared to ics? I'm guessing its around the same because it has nearly the same kernel
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
Better on the battery, since wifi doesn't work.
Once wifi gets fixed, it should be about the same again.
Just a side note installing an ICS KERNEL like hefe will earn you a boot loop, so don't unless you like that sort of thing.

It's funny, because I started looking at a herring port last weekend, and then saw the dev thread erik started and stopped.

Its funny I remember the last time source code was not posted when promised devs got upset and there was a huge dog-pile.
Per the rules here at xda source code should be posted. When can links be expected? .
By posting your work on XDA-Developers, you are agreeing that it complies with relevant licensing conditions. As such, by posting a kernel or other work containing GPL code, you are confirming to us that you have made this source code available publicly under the GPL, and should highlight this in your thread with a link.

It's no secret you have a beef with Erik, but really, going to try and call out "no source link", for an alpha build, when he's said he will get source for everyone to work with. If you are going to be that much of a stickler, then you better go through the ROM thread and find EVERY ROM that doesn't have a source link in the thread.
Seriously, go through every single ROM and post in that thread your little XDA link and quote, because otherwise it's shows your being petty against Erik and you're mad because the mod's keep deleting your posts or closing threads every time you start something. I just looked and saw 10 ROM's without source linked without even looking at Erik's releases, so go report all them too and post your quote.
He is not referring to ROM'S and ports, rather the kernel and CM10. er1kmm is NOT keeping it from people for malicious reasons. To imply otherwise is childish. You don't see ANYONE from TFQ releasing ANYTHING CM10. Please stop asking for ETA's. Grow up and stop whining.
Sent from a hole in the time/space continuum.
Actually this is something that is suppose to be released when the thread is started. So this eta is a valid one. It would be nice to have this code available so other people can look to see if they can fix stuff. I dont care when I beta release is made, I just care to see the source code posted. That is not a unreasonable request. This is a pretty major release and I know others are chomping at the bit to get it to start trying to fix some things.

Maybe, just maybe, there is something going on in er1kmm's personal life. I honestly don't know. Real life comes before XDA. Be yourself, report it, have any and all threads regarding CM10 deleted (including bhundven's which has been proven false, and his is now an "any other thread").
Edit: Not false, just no longer relevant.
I am not defending or going against anyone here, but the reason that I am asking for source is because I feel that once we have source, we will be able to fix a ton of issues. The more devs/helpers, the better.
And I am quite sure, since erik has promised us source, it'll be here soon enough.
