Did you really create that kernel with BFS 300 and the 10MB hack? If not, you should really give credit where it is due.

How is asking him if he created the kernel criticizing him? If he did, I will give him tons of respect. There are maybe half a dozen people on this forum that have the knowledge to do that without using someone elses work. Quit looking for drama.

I welcome it too. I just wanted to make sure it was "new" development and not someone recycling other peoples work. Like I said I will give him the benefit of the doubt and load it up.

If I'm not mistaken, there's no portrait mode support in any Hero ROM.

Frequest Flasher... for the last 2 weeks I think I flashed my phone at LEAST once a day... and just wanted to say.. and give a HUGE thanks to Justanothercrowd, Drizzy and anyone else who helped create JacHero.. This latest 2.6.3 version runs by far the best out of all the releases I have tried. It is stable, pretty quick.. has the least amount of lag.. and is overall a GREAT release..
I would have just left a compliment in your release thread.. but It is growing so large, I feel a compliments thread is appropriate and leave the official thread for ?'s and ROM specific talk..

well keep a good eye on the hero releases! because soon enough (if you've been watching them anyway) they'll be fixing the bluetooth! its been a huge bugger since the beginning with all of the hero builds, same with the LED lights. so far they can turn on BT via terminal! so thats pretty close!

I like this thread, I want to say thanks but not blow up the dev thread (however this is questionable because this is still the dev sub category in the forum). So to all the developers a big thanks from Seattle/Tacoma Washington! Great work and because of this sort of community and tinkering I will never own an iPhone. I have to agree as well. The latest build is working great even on my class 2 memory card. A bit of lag never hurt anyone. The devs have been working tirelessly to give us a build that it stable enough for day-to-day use. I'm sure they still have a few tricks up their sleeves and can't wait to see what's coming down the pipeline.

Ok so as some of u may already know we were currently trying to get user "JockyW" to create an unlocker for the device..BUT due to his busy schedule it seems as if he has given up on the project. I mean i could be completely wrong, but im assuming thats what the issue is since there is no communcation.
So with that being said and with the suggestion of another user, i then took it upon myself to reach out to user "Cmonex" and see what he can offer us. Well after speaking with him and running some tests, he will be taking on the job, which to me is very awesome, especially since we all know that he is part of the very busy "EliteTeam" in the Diamond/TouchPro forums. I also asked for an ETA on the project and he said 1-2 weeks MAX!
NOW with all that being said all that i ask is that we send this guy a few bucks. I know i asked the same for JockyW but here i am confident and sure that we will have something shortly.
Remember its a donation so it can be as little or as much as you want it to be. ( and let me tell u this is no easy task..he was directing me the whole way and man what a process!! )
Thats all i got for now..i will keep everyone posted as we go along.

Hey jocky, thanks for checking in. I'm sure socal didn't mean anything negative. The snap/maple community isn't large, but I'm sure many of us are anxious to begin hacking our phones. jockyW and I are still working hard on this. The distance and time is an issue but we work around it. Nights for me, days for him, etc. We did more testing this morning (PST) and will continue some tonight (PST) after JockyW gets some sleep. We all need sleep.
We are closer than most think. I will keep you guys abreast of our progress. Custom cooks are right around the corner.

I asked ookba, but the unlocker and 6.5 roms are intertangabe on all Maples, or will there need to be different ones for different models? (ie an unlocker/ROM for the Dash3G, Ozone, and Snap [and different models of Snap {S521, S511, etc}])...?

I could be wrong but I'm guessing that since the Maples all have GSM and CDMA radios that they should be able to use the same program. It's not like there is completely different models like the touch pro 2.

Ok yea, so after 6-7 tough hours last night and 5000 miles of seperation, we got somewhere. Gotta love technology. Jockyw2001 is a machine and WOW does he know his stuff! I will be testing it today and if my results are accceptable, Jockyw2001 will release JumpSPL and HardSPL tomorrow! So far so good!

JF popped a lot of our root-cherries. I'm not sure what the "he will be missed" messages are all about. He didn't die. He'll still be around, just not working on ROMs.
He was the godfather of root. He helped pave the way for what we have now.

First off, I take absolutely no credit for making this ROM, this is a hybrid of JAC's latest ROM and Drizzy's BLUR port. There wasn't too much time put into this, but it works surprisingly well.
What you need:
Same stuff as pretty much as every other Hero ROM,
but I recommend around 90mb for linux-swap, that makes it run
pretty smooth, and I only have a 2gb card.
Known Bug:
Sometimes when you reboot, it freezes on the HTC screen, just pull out the battery
and it will boot just fine.
FYI, I am not a dev so I will not be fixing any problems, I just threw this together:

Edit: Sorry forgot to put absolutely no SMS issue, except any that are available in any HERO ROM.

Kind of, it looks half BLUR (animations, redish scheme, but you can see 3g icons and EDGE icon) and then JACHEROSKI for the rest of the scheme.

You dont have to be a dev to put together a signed package with tested files....it doesnt take a genius to do the sh**t I do. I would be a developers i just lack the time. Now I thought that I would do the community a favor by putting this together so 'n00bs' could just flash it instead of manually pushing all the files in this. And I wont be fixing anything because this rom is pretty damn stable if u must know, y dont u try it instead of bashing it?
so why make a rom u dont really wanna be a part of(meaning u wont update if something is wrong)...why waste the time.. im wasting my time replying to this.

The only reason I made this is because the BLUR animations are awesome, and I wanted to use the ROM but I like being able to send txt's...That was the whole point. So i cooked a ROM that has all the animations that is stable and has the ability to send SMS.
And I agree, let the haters hate.

One thing that I did notice was the predictive auto correct wasn't working either. Is that something you didn't like? I've tried installing the HTC_IME from different roms but it never gives me the predictive part of it. Just wondering.. everything else looks good. Agreed blur looks good.
i understand that but as we all kno problem do occur sometimes with hero...but u saying u wont fix any problems or issues it seems that it has issues and u choose not to fix them...thats what turned me off...not hating i just wanted to state how i felt..

Um, Drizzy hasn't ported BLUR. He has a partial dump he pulled a few visuals from, but it is far from ported. Other than that though, nice work. I'm sure a few people will find it useful if they don't feel like waiting for him to fix sms. Couldn't you have just done it as a theme rather than a whole rom that you don't plan to support?

What you will need
BRAIN
Partitioned SD card class doesnt matter im running on class 2 and 4
Swap needs to be 64mb or higher
How to flash
wipe
wipe cache
wipe ext
repair ext
flash and its running
I would love some feedback telling me how it runs! Will add screen shots later. If anybody wants to help please post screen shots for me ill appreciate it!

more details will probably get you more publicity. junior member with 5 posts posting a rom. it's no offense to you at all, but most people will go for the more widely known devs.

Hey! we're a community guys, a lot of the veteran dev's you see around here started out like this fellow, so please, just keep an open mind and give him a chance would ya?
I think you should just start out with the regular ROM thread format.
List which hero dump each of your ROM's are based on, what works, what doesn't. What is required. Anything you've added in, what you've taken out. Recommendations on swap if it's supported etc. Link or no link, it's a start.
Maybe you'd like to name your roms, or something and change the thread title as well

Bluetooth?
If it doesn't have working bluetooth, you can keep it. No offense, but I'm about sick of all the "fast" hero rom's and still no working bluetooth for the tmo g1/htc dream.

Ahh now thats what i like to hear, i dont care if he has 100000 post or 1 if he has a even faster hero then let him upp that bad boi for us to use.

Second the above statement. The only hero rom I have used to date with working bluetooth for 32B devices is the one in my signature. It is by no means the fastest but it is stable enough with working bluetooth.
Tmack23 should have the ROM's posted within an hour.
is bt actually working?
I'm down to flash. I will give it a shot. I like giving people benefit of the doubt. If they take the time to post a rom, why not take the time to try it out. Right? I'm excited to hear that you have working bluetooth. I hope this works on my mt3g.

i'm with you up to an extent. some people (i am most definitely not pointing the finger at anyone. i'm just saying in general) will just throw together something to say they're a dev and play everything up.
on a lighter note, i'm VERY interested in hearing whether or not bt is working. i can't flash at the moment, but i'll probly try it out later tonight.

Well in the OP he mention that BT should be working because is working on his G1.....can't flash at the moment.....sigh....
