[Q] Voodoo applications help please! - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Hi, I just recently rooted my phone and am seeing a lot of talk on Voodoo applications that enhance many different features to the SGS4g. I'm pretty new to the android world and I need some help getting it to work.
I downloaded Voodoo Control from the Marketplace, but I don't know how to get it to work with the kernels and such. I did see multiple threads on this but it was pretty confusing, anyone have any clear cut instructions on how to get the lagfix/sound/color/display to be improved using Voodoo?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You need the pro app on the sgs4g, since it only has stock kernel.

[Q] Q: Rom compatability to vibrant gerations

Hello,
I greatly respect the devs for all of their hard work in fixing these issues t-mobile and samsung massively neglected. I have a quick noob question after reading and searching for about 20 hours on this massively helpful site of which I seem to be overlooking.
Which roms go to what phone? (SGH-t959 vs i9000)
I installed Bionix Frost on my SGH-t959 and it runs decent (few minor bugs). I'm just not sure if it is the one I'm supposed to have. Having the i9000 out there makes it very confusing for me as I soft bricked it the first time I tried a different OS. Anything is better than the stock froyo so far but I want to make sure I have the right one.
I'd greatly appreciate any advice with many 'Thank you(s)' bestowed upon thee!
bump
please....i have the same question the only different is i have the vibrant 4g

Rooted and have some questions

Let me start off by saying I am not in any way new to Android or rooting (I don't know why I felt like adding that, but I did).
Anyway, today I rooted and installed the Voodoo Lag Fix. Are there any NOTICEABLE changes? Everything seems to be just as slow or fast (however you want to describe it), and the colors seem to be the same (I read that it enhances colors).
Also, I want to keep my phone running quick, so I want as few apps installed as possible, but I also didn't root for nothing. SO: if I remove bloat that's safe to remove, will I have any problems taking the Gingerbread OTA when it comes out? I remember the DROID X used to check for all bloatware or else the update would fail. Also, are there any good root apps to check out? I know about most of them, but anything specifically recommended for the Charge? I've never overclocked because I read it can overheat the phone, but I guess if it IS a better experience, I should give it a go, right? What's the recommended overclock setting?
And finally, should I accept the GB OTA when it comes to us? Will the rooting method be the same, just with different files?
I know it's a lot but I'd really like some answers. Thanks in advance!
Lots of questions in one paragraph.
I would suggest taking a look at flashing with the Gummy or Humble Rom, they both have bloatware stripped.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146103
I have used both, and they both work very well.
No idea when GB OTA will be released but I'm sure if you do it OTA you will get extra bloatware. It is safe to OC the charge to 1300mhz.

Because it seems like this phone is kind of different from the other Androids I've had (X, OG, and Incredible 2).
Also, like I said, I want the best for my phone to keep it up and running as fast as possible haha. Metaphorically, it's my baby.
Also, I'm about to install this theme on stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1127382
Why are you installing a theme before you root it? I'm starting to doubt your 1337 r00ting skills.

[Q] IS THERE a key logger on our phones???

i dont know if you all have been following this, but here are two links you should read and be aware of, this is something ive always known but it still bothers me greatly, alot of us use different custom ROMS the reason ive posted this here, is because i want to know if our phones are running anything from Carrier IQ? do any of you have any info on this regarding our phones and our different roms? thanks
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/11/30/smartphone_spying_app/
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/12/01/apple_sprint_carrier_iq/
EDIT: I found this link explaining how to remove this from android phones, but if your like me and using an ASOP rom like CM7 or NINJA well then you dont have this problem and can go about business as usual
http://lifehacker.com/5863895/carrier-iq-how-the-widespread-rootkit-can-track-everything-on-your-phone-and-how-to-remove-it?popular=true&autoplay
I'm sure the new boast of the ROM devs will be "Carrier IQ removed"
I've dug through 3 different stock units and none of them have CIQ.
Most devs remove it when they are cooking

what are the "must haves" for the tf101?

Hey guys I have never owned a tablet before, and finally picked up a tf101 with keyboard for a sweet price on CL.. and I want to give this tablet thing a real fair shot. That being said, I have tinkered around with android cellphones for a while, Im not a 100% noob but not as clever as most of you guys.
anyways I want to cut down on the amount of reading to do and boy there is a bunch , its the same song for every device/vehicle I buy, Purchase product, then spend the next couple months reading your brains off on a forum related to the product. (need to cut down on the reading... gf always on my case lol)
What are the most popular mods, accessories , settings (I will check into all the various kernals and Roms myself) apps. What are some life changing functions I can perform with the tf101 that would make me wish I got into tablets a lot sooner?
pretty much, I like the device and it looks real sleek and cool... just not sure what to do with it now , lol.
thanks in advance
Must have for me - Root - install custom rom - install kernel.
My PERI tool makes this a one-click from latest stock. I highly recommend you skip all the issues people have with stock and go straight to a great rom like ARHD, AOKP, or Megatron. :]
Other - counterstrike mobile, yes
This can be tough to answer because Android, unlike granny smith, has many things to read about and tinker with. I have had the tab for a while and tried numerous different roms and kernels. Each have slightly different responses and it depends on your tinkering desire.
I push my tab to the limits and try to do everything it wasn't originally designed for. Unfortunately....a lot of reading.
At any rate, my life changing functions were very quick access to RDP and VNC to home computers. I can also view my home security video cameras from the tab.
SSH to my phone is another plus for me.
I'm still contemplating attempting to install Linux on the tab as well.

I have it installed in an image loop and up and running fine on my B80 SBK2. It is slow and doesn't have any sound and I can't figure out what to do next in terms of getting a decent speed from it because there is pretty much no information out there other than getting it running. I know decent speed is possible because I had a WebTop phone.

Tell me more on your tether issue. I tether the tf to my phone using built in tether function through the aopk rom. The tablet picks it up just fine. There is a lot of confusion between adhoc and infrastructure mode also but there are a lot of articles on the subject.
Define what you want to do and what way you want the data to flow would help out for a better answer I think.

hey tom, I think I have solved my problem, I applied the suplicant fix that was in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1438297
and it has been working since, I havnt used it too much yet but so far so good
was that what you were going to suggest to me?
My phone is a rooted tmobile vibrant running tmobile web , I dont have a native tether app on this rom and I didnt want to mess with my phone much either. (been over a year since I installed a rom or even wiped, its getting too old for me to want to invest time into it)

I have heard this option many times but for quite some time ago when I was using Wifi tether for root users on the phone I had to select galaxy nexus cdma and netd master so the tablet would recognize.
Now things are becoming different such as the aopk rom and I use them on both the tf and my samsung fascinate. I stopped using the separate tether app since the built in function did all the same things.
I personally suggest a rom like this to make sure your phone and tablet can all peform the same functions.
Glad it worked for you though.

[Q] Galaxy MOD Verizon Galaxy 3

Can anyone help me to better understand why AC!D MOD is showing up as a virus when I am running a check on my phone. And to be more specific not just a virus but a Trojan. Also there is another one that is showing up with the rom called com.acquariusoft.updateme] and it is a trojan as well. I have searched many forums and still can not find anything about an answer as to of why this would occur. I would greatly appreciate any help. I am sure that it could just be some sort of error being a custom rom and all but I have noticed that ACID mod is consistently coming up as a trojan on multiple ROMS.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. I also would like to say that Galaxy Mod is by far the best ROM I have flashed along with the custom Binary V6 settings and the battery life is amazing as well. I am not trying to knock the developer because the rom is bad ass, I just want to figure out what is goiing on
Questions Answered Thanks Pure Motive
I am posting the answer from the developer below in case anyone else has had the same questions.
"AC!D probably shows up as a Trojan because it is not properly signed. I'm not certain on that one. The aquarius soft one is because the app needs to push and pull data from an external server so to your anti virus software out looks as though it's stealing your secure information, which it's not. The aquarius soft app is the updater which I use to push new features."
