The Sensation looks like a grat phone .
A few questions remain :
Is it maybe plausible to have custom ROM on it ?
Is the screen (glass) durable ?
Isn't Sense eating away a bit amount of RAM ?
Why is this phone better than the Nexus S ?
No ROOT = No warez APKs ?
thanx for the help in advance
Custom roms, no not yet. Need bootloader hack
Glass, very durable. Has gorilla glass confirmed
Better than Nexus s cause it has dual core processor, more ram, newer (not sure if better yet) video chip
Dunno about sense and ram yet. As it is new 3.0 sense, no one done extensive testing yet
No root does mean no warez apps, but you should give credit where due for developers. Apps are usually only $1. Are you trying to tell me you can afford a new top shelf android phone but can't afford $1 for an app
Root won't be far away after its actually released. You do know its not out yet

Omgwarez is still attainable without root, not that im promoting it. As long as sideloading is enabled, any apk is installable. I beta test apps on a non rooted mytouch. Apks install with no prob.
Again, not promoting it.

Ehm.. This can't be serious , can it ?
Means that the nexus s has no durability
Is it maybe plausible to have custom ROM on it ? Not yet, but it will probably will be in the future.
Is the screen (glass) durable ? The glass surface is curved at boundry's so that it won't touch the underground when you lay it down and won't scratch. Besides that it's made from gorilla glass.
Isn't Sense eating away a bit amount of RAM ? Yes a bit, but you get a lot of nice features in return. eg the new lock screen.
Why is this phone better than the Nexus S ? it's dual core!
No ROOT = No warez APKs ? You can install apps even if it's not rooted when you check the box Onbekende bronnen

It's not with the final product. The software is running on the Pyramid version, which is beta and doesn't make use of both cores.

thats looks like a vid from pre release Pyramid rom
from what i remember quandrant wasnt and i think still isnt optimized
for both cores, so im guessing that score is running on only one core. at very least
the pyramid rom not optimized for both cores
plus those benchmarks arent the end all tell of performance, people put too much faith in benchmarks.
wait for final release, real world performance before you write it off. thats when ill make my decision

Simple as the title says, i'm just curious is there any point now to get one.
My intentions are simply to just have a fun, i don't want to activate the phone.
I'm currently a Samsung Epic 4G user, is it worth me to buy this phone?
I found one off craigslist for 100$ and it has bad esn.
Would there be any use for me to get this phone?
Thanks in Advance please don't flame.

A bunch of people will likely say you should wait for the new fancy quad core around that illusive corner or you should get that shiny new joint with the bells, whistles, and whurlies. and to all that I just say, ask yourself these questions:
1. Who has the best development community?
2. Who's been running ics for 5 months now?
3. Who has best mix of functionality and performance?
The answer, my friend, is we do. I learned long ago that hardware is just a hardwired piece of crap without development. And our development, in my opinion, is among the best. And our hardware is nothing to play with either. In fact, I don't think the software is at a level to really use the new hardware. It's like running windows 98 on a quad core machine... Why would anyone do that?
I should add, all this is considering you plan on rooting and flashing. If not, get something else.
You without me is like Harold Melvin without the Blue Notes...

Well of course I'm going to root and flash lol I'm no noob at all just wondering why is it that it has boot loader? And funny thing is the epic has all of the same specs except has a KB, Sd Card Slot, And Soft keys actually light up brighter haha. But ill have to give this a thought, BTW is it really hard to root it? I remember for the Epic was simple and easy.

If you just want to have fun then heck yeah buy it! Haha, there's a bunch of ROMS to flash and probably the most ICS ROMS that are stable besides the GSM NS or the G Nex. You can make it your dedicated mp3 player to lol, I've heard that our NS's have some of the best audio hardware around coupled with voodoo sound And yes it is SUPER easy to root!

unlocking the boot loader is as simple as "fastboot oem unlock" rooting is also really easy, you can turn it into a massacre machine or make it to last a week without charging, a great gallery of modification have come to beeing that give you even more freedom and.. well a lot more. well for 100$ i'd definitely buy it...again

How would it last a week on a small battery? I have the same phone pretty much and had the oem 1500 mAh and on CM7 usuing VR (Scheduler) and Conservative (Governor Clearly lol) and was heavy UV as well and can barely break 15 Hours. Now I have a hyperion 3500 mAh And most I've gotten is 2 days with about 2 Hrs of actual screen on time. I hopped on netflix other day and straight watched it no interuptions except after movie wifi went out and turned it back got 6 Hrs on battery and about 5 Hrs and 30Mins of actual screen on time. Phone was awake the whole time pretty much. I can post screenies but a lil later busy right now. If it can last you a week what are you doing? Are you actually using the phone haha? Thanks for the input guys considering buying it.
Edit: not to mention I use Juice defender as well to help it out and trust me it lasts longer I've tested it you just have to use correct settings to your usage.

This and the Samsung Galaxy S (aka Epic Touch 4G) are practically the same phone with a different case. Looking at features alone the Galaxy has a microsd card slot and FM radio which the Nexus doesn't. I wouldn't bother buying the Nexus if you keep the Touch unless you're dying for an awesome dev community.

It looks really good. I have held off on getting a new phone since my contract expired as there is nothing out there that does everything I want, but this might just be the phone for me.
Quad-Core, large screen (+ high resolution), Add-on Micro SD-Card slot, looks like removable battery as well, so can upgrade to the 3000mAh one for longer life.
There has to be a catch somewhere ...

Hate to say it but this phone will not get a big following anywhere outside of china for many reasons. Some being that these types of china knock offs tend not to have the hardware that is advertised, no real warranty outside of china, and normally don't run official android builds, nor have access to the market due to Google and china issues.
Might not be bad if they could get their act together but I don't see iit happening

Well china does have copyright laws. It's either just not enforced at all or it favors companies in the country.
Also as a reply to your previous post, this company is supported by Qualcomm directly (or at least so I read on Engadget). And since it is running MIUI, it also has full access to the Play Store and will get updates since it just updates whenever MIUI gets updated. Warranty probably won't work but I tend to try to not damage my products and keep them safe. If there are manufacturing issues, well that's my fault for not researching the product more before I bought it.
Sent from my Incredible S using Tapatalk 2
Just because it has MIUI (which is not something I would brag about lol) doesn't mean it will have the market. If it looks good to you then by all means give it a shot. Good luck just don't expect it to find a home here.

*sigh, you definitely haven't used MIUI, or any product by Xiaomi. They are TRUSTED. Go ask those who uses the Mi-One, they are the most satisfied bunch of all smartphone Enthusiasts. Why? They don't get updates not every six months, but every Friday! And trust me, they DID NOT make up the hardware specs. Its either that you're racists towards Chinese companies, or just a unlucky customer who bought a fake product.
Xxx oops! accidentally beamed from my awesome NEXUS S! xxX
First off I am not racist to anything at all. I give everyone a fair shake. As for MIUI your right I have never used it and never will. I don't support what they did.
As for the hardware specs I am not aging they made them up. Just stating what many have seen with buying knock off devices. If this device hardware is legit cool and I am sure people will be happy with it.

Xiaomi MI-2 - kind of future for Android Smartphones- ...
All the hardware of the Xiaomi MI-2 is surprising, especially for the 1999 Yuan chinese price...
For sure, the lack of a memory card slot is annoying, but it is the choice of Google too, inside all the Nexus models.
Now if people could write an authentic JB ROM in order to replace the miui "iOS like" ROM, and if the international price could be really low, I would be inclined to replace my Nexus
Xiaomi 2
Xiaomi 2 is nice between my and my girl we have the last two previous models....her service provider in china will give the phone free when she signs a new contract and I will be trading her a JM phone for it.

Nexus 4 is more expensive than one s.
The S3 (c2) isnt THAT bad. Its nothing wrong with it performance-wise.
But the custom rom scene is terrible for it, and its **** compared to the One S S4.
Try to get a hold of an S4 device, its so much better than S3. But if theres no way for you to get an S4, the S3 is still a good device if you can live without a bunch of custom roms etc.

Check out HTC's website for pictures, and make sure the phone you buy looks just like the pictures. I am not sure what color you would get, but the design of the device should be the same. If you can remove the back and access the battery, than its a knock-off.

The IMEI can be checked from system settings<about phone<status. If you are trying to determine is this phone has been reported stolen or something like that, you would probably have to contact the carrier and give them the IMEI number and ask them if the phone is been reported stolen. Of course I don't know if this is even possible with a Romania carrier, thats something you would have to call them about.

Yeah, Nexus 4 price in Romania (in retail stores) is around 500+ euros, but still I've got my One S (Ville, S4) with ~400$, you can get S4 in Romania, you just have to search a bit. There are new ones (online stores) ~500$ and SH ones around 350-400$ with s4 processor. Just keep looking, you'll find a bunch of them

There will be quite a difference when playing games, multitasking etc.
like usaff22 said, there's quite a difference when using CPU intensive apps, IMHO S4 is the fastest processor available when comparing core to core performance and keeping in mind that ville and ville c2 have the same price, i would say: keep looking. But if you're not that mad about processor power, s3 will do just fine.

You probably wont notice much of a big difference, unless you got both an S3 and S4 in hand - then the differences become clear, and it is a rather big difference.
So, as long as you stay away from S4 the S3 will seem very fast, but once you compare it to an S4, the S3 will seem extremely slow and you will curse yourself for not getting an S4
Is there a way to get all 8 cores running at the same time,

If it was using all 8 cores at once that would be a reason not to buy it not the other way around that would be a massive battery hog along with very little performance benefit as no apps use that many threads only way u might benefit is in multi-tasking and even then if your handling enough apps that 4 a15s can't handle then your ram is probably packed so there won't even be room to store any extra processes so the a7s can kick in
So count your blessings

No it's not. Buy a sensation if you care about build quality or gs2 if you don't because it has official CM support.

What do you mean by build quality? Is it flimsy? And the sensation is a bit big and i dont really like samsung phones.

Gs2 is builds of plastic. I wouldn't buy DS because it's single core and it shows. It also has this weird screen issues. Sensation is dual+ newer SoC. But if you want best devs support Gs2 is the one to go with. What's you budget?

Yes I know. I just don't think u will feel that much of a more punch. Still I think DS is better than dc

Well it's hard for me to say because I don't live in UK. I mean the price isn't bad it's just that personally I would rather go dual-core at least.

Well the DS might be what you're looking for. Just consider orginal galaxy again for CM/dev support or our sister Desire HD.

I almost got galaxy s but when i tried to flash a rom onto my friends ace i couldnt get any to boot and i dont want to risk having to stay on stock rom  and the hd screen is too big for me. Max 4". not trying to be picky but i like my phone to be able to fit in my pocket
One problem is, you can't guarantee that any up-to-date jb (CM10.1) roms will boot on the device, take a look at the non-sony panel guide in the general section...

Thankyou for that information. If that is the case maybe ill ask the ebay shop and if they dont know ill buy and if its a hitachi i might return it as there is a 14 day return policy and so id be able to return it. But even if it is hitachi does auto brightness work?

Sense roms are fully functional on both panel types. Old versions of cm10/10.1 can be booted with a special kernel, but, if I remember correctly, the brightness is stuck and can't be changed.

In my personal opinion, this device is amazing: perfect size (3.7" screen), and an amazing android development: I've recently installed CM10.1 and the phone is incredibly fast (without OC).
But if you are not interested in custom ROMS you can also buy "non-branded" android devices: they are much cheaper.
-S-
well with that budget Desire S is a perfect device
may i suggest you to buy even this (only 20 dollar and u have a NEW device)
there are even other part if u find something broker New cover
or maybe a Orange one

If its software im going to be flashing a custom rom anyway

i think is hardware...and the LCD replacement for the sensation costs about costs 70 euro.. i think is not affordable for your budget :S
maybe in this case the Desire S is better
