My wildfire with cynaogenmod 7.02 runs great, but after around 2 days, I notice certain shortcuts to settings tend to lag.
I have a shortcut to accounts & sync, but after a while is simply hangs when I use it. If I goto settings > accounts & sync, i can see everything fine, but the shortcut itself does not work.
Same with beautiful widgets, if I goto the weather widget then settings, it hangs. If I goto applications > beautiful widgets > settings, it works fine.
Both these issues disappear after a reboot. What could be causing them?
Bump. Yadda yadda 10 chars.

I want to stop Gmail and my Calender and Picassa pictures from syncing with the gtablet. But i still want my contacts to sync. In other roms I just go to settings and accounts and just stop it there for each individual thing. How do I do that in this rom?

The workaround I found was to use launcherpro to create a shortcut.
Long press home > shortcuts > Activities > Account and Sync Settings > Then pick the top option which should be "com.android.settings.ManageAccountSettings" > tap OK > tap icon to launch the settings.

Nice! That worked great. Thanks
Dude - thanks so much for this. I don't need to worry about configuring what the original poster was interested in, but I've been hunting down a way to turn on the lock pattern with TNT-Lite.
Turns out, if you use this same approach but go to Settings and then "com.android.settings.ChooseLockGeneric" you can go in and set up a lock pattern.
Been wanting this for a while. Thanks again.
Do this and it should work. I was having the same problem and it worked for me.
First backup your contacts, from people application using Export to SD card option!!!
go to:
settings > developer options > background process limit (set "No background processes")
then go to:
settings > apps > all > contacts storage > ("clear data")
Then go back to:
settings > developer options > background process limit (set Standard limit)
You might need to restart your phone.
Then select your gmail account and check contacts and then reboot.
Wait 5-10 min and you'll see the contacts start to appear.
Do not do Clear Data before backing up your contacts.
Unfortunatelly I think it only works one way from Google to Phone.

I'm guessing this is a bug with the Samsung calendar. I've been using the Google calendar since I've had an Epic Touch (S2) and had this issue on that phone also. After installing the Google calendar, I disable the Samsung calendar by going to Settings -> Set alerts & notifications -> Off. The problem with this is that every time I reboot, the setting resets to "Status bar notification". Because of this I end up with double notifications. Is there any way to make this setting stick? I'm thinking I probably need to uninstall the Samsung calendar or have a script run at boot (Tasker?).

You can go into settings - application manager - then disable calendar
or
just use root browser and change the touchwiz calendar SJFKDL.bak
I knew it had to be something simple. Didn't even think to look in the application manager. There is a check box for Show Notifications. Unchecked it and no more double notifications. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
This isn't a permanent fix unfortunately! I'm having the same trouble and every morning or throughout the day I have to repeat that process and it doesn't stay disabled. Please advise ASAP
Hi,
Just got HTC One X today and immediately updated to JB. After installing my apps and setting it up, I noticed that certain widgets would disappear from my home screen (Nova Launcher) and from lock screen (WidgetLocker). Only certain widgets - Battery Widget Reborn, Power Toggles, Smooth Calendar. After a reboot, they show up as grey boxes and I would have to tap and setup the widget again. Also noticed that SwiftKey would no longer be set as default keyboard and I would have to disable/re-enable to be able to choose it again.
Messed around and it's the same behavior with the stock launcher but with that, they the widgets just disappear altogether.
I did a system erase and pretty much nothing installed, same behavior. I've played with every setting to see if that had an effect but no different.
Has anyone encountered this or have any ideas on what's going on?
Thanks in advance.
Jeff
I just got the Oreo update C636 and Emui 8.0.0.366. All fine so far, except that an annoying icon comes up in the top-left corner. When I pull it down, it complains about an application "running in the background". How can I get rid of this icon ?
The application in question is World Clock Widget 2018. If I stop it altogether, the icon disappears, but the clock widget stops updating itself. I understand the motivation for the icon: background apps consume power. But this is just a clock, so I'm happy to let it run in the background. Battery life is great, 48+ hours.
I attach two screen dumps.
BTW, I can't access this Xda Forum from Chrome any more. The page opens normally, but then a second later a blank overlay comes up. I'm writing this from MS-Edge (yukk!)
You can use an app on the Play Store. This is the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iboalali.sysnotifsnooze
thanks, it works. Apparently, the issue affects other Androids as well, not just Emui.
Settings > Apps & Notifications > Apps > More > Show system processes > Android System > Notifications > Apps running in background > switch off.
