G2X only $99? ??? - T-Mobile LG G2x

Why is the G2X only $99 now? Feel like jumping on one but no other high-end phone has dropped that fast. Makes me hesitate to get this phone. Anyone have any thoughts?

Just go buy it, with Gingerbread it can only get better.

This doesn't surprise me. Actually, after the Sensation comes out in five weeks I expect the G2X to be T-Mobile's "value" higher-end phone. The majority of people (not the tech-savvy group here on XDA) like Sense, TouchWiz, and MotoBlur. If you look at the T-Mobile forums there are a lot of threads about "where's my stuff;" meaning the clock, calendar, etc.
The big supposed selling point of the G2X was its close to "pure Google" experience. The G2 was close to a pure Google phone. HTC obviously started with stock Android and went from there. The T-Mobile apps were discreet and didn't effect anything if you didn't use them. The G2X is LG's s/w with the UI removed and tons of T-Mobile crapware embedded in to the OS. So it doesn't appeal to people who like pretty interfaces and it fails as a "pure Google" phone. That leaves it appealing to the less than what I'm guessing as the 10% of people who look at their phone as a hobby and see the biggest feature as CM7 committing to it.
HTC is going to throw T-Mobile tons of marketing money to promote the Sensation; especially since they have the US exclusive. In six weeks the G2X will be a niche afterthought. If the Gingerbread update makes the phone stable I may keep it for a while but my long term plan is to get the Sensation or SGS2 (I'm leaning toward the Sensation because of the qHD screen). Both Samsung and HTC seem to have their software act together much better than LG who delivered the O2X with bugs and followed that up with an even buggier G2X.

And I love my g2x. Why would an online sale change that?

Other than CM7 support and that it's easier to mod, what would make you pick the G2X over the Sensation if they were both the same price? Or, if the Sensation was just as easy to mod what features does the G2X have that would make you still pick it? Just curious not questioning your feelings toward the phone.

$199.99 on two year contract. Just went to here: http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/Phones/cell-phone-detail.aspx?cell-phone=T-Mobile-G2x-with-Google

This phone feels great in my hand, I personally like a 4 inch screen, stock-ish android experience is easy for developers to work on, and the Tegra 2 is proven compared to the dual core chip coming on the Sensation. Coming from a vibrant, I like this screen better for some reason and gps works great. I'm happy.
As a side note, samsungs "touch wiz" ui interface sucked and sabotaged a lot of development that could have happened. I fear the same for sense roms (htc).
There you go, my 2 cents. I know you said "other than easier to mod", but that's a serious factor for me!

The radio shack is just for today and you need to add another line or get new service, afaik. Also I've heard bad things about wirefly and trying to return/exchange phones.

Wtf I just got mine for the standard price 2 days ago. Think I could return it and get the lower price?

Im just hoping its not a push to clear stock before a better/fixed updated phone comes out?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App

From what I've heard Radio Shack is very disappointed with their T-Mobile sales. This is probably the only way the can compete. Wirefly is probably the same way. If you look at their online product pages it looks like the are the same company. The page design is nearly identical.
Honestly $100 off regular price is about the minimum it would take for me to use them. The advantage of being able to take my phone back to a T-Mobile store for an exchange if necessary is worth the extra $100.

Great information, thanks everyone.

Mytouch 4g or nexus s

Hi, I currently have a rooted mytouch 4g running android 2.3 that I bought used off of craigslist. I got an offer to trade my mytouch 4g plus cash for a nexus s brand new. Now I don't necessarily love Samsung but the deal seems like it could be beneficial to me. Some background:
I have a mytouch with a 'bad screen'
I have absolutely none of the original packaging or accessories.
The phone is a bit scuffed up and it is purple.
Now I was hoping you guys could give me your opinion, if you were in my shoes, would you trade or keep the phone?

I wouldn't....
too many bad things about the nexus s, and far too many fones that will be released in the next few months that will outdate "kill" the nexus S while the mt4g even with a bad screen STANDS STRONG, i also have a bad screen and this is far better processor, plus you can contact htc through tmoble to possibly exchange now for the scuffs u can spend 11bucks at ur local mall and get watever color gel case u want and.u now have ur fave color mt4g in ur hands
just my opinion do sum reading thru here there are lots of negatives to the nexus s, our (mt4g) gingerbread runs wayyy better
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I honestly do not see why not... If I was in your shoes I would do it, if you don't you will probably be asking yourself what if? Plus you should factor in the following which is are you able to fully utilize hspa+ where you are.... Ultimately it also comes down to whether you have patience for Nexus S development to pick up and moreover if the mytouch better suits what you need... The Nexus S in my honest opinion is currently a better offering hardware wise and potentially (support google/dev scene) software wise with the largest omission being hspa+...
Apparently very debatable

I got the NS for 1 week and I went back to the MT4G. Maybe you like the NS, so try it and if not you can trade it again. I had a thread about my experience with the NS and compared it a bit to the MT4G.

I'm returning my Nexus S tomorrow. Picked up the my touch yesterday. So far I think this version of Sense is terrible. That, however can be fixed. Really there are a number off things I don't like about the my touch yet I will still return the Nexus. GPS, accelerometer, and compass all function much better on the my touch. Huge difference. If I'm going to spend 500 bucks on a phone I expect the features that make it more than just a phone to work well. Updates from Google are important but I would rather have well functioning hardware. If the my touch never receives another ota it's still a pretty good phone. The Nexus will probably never have a stable compass or gps. That's my take at least. There were some other hardware issues such as phantom button presses that put me over the edge with the Nexus, but that may have been cured with an exchange.

I went from the G1, which I loved, to the Vibrant, which I loved to hate. The developers did the best they could but the phone was still sitting with no official froyo six months after release, so I got fed up and sold it.
I got a Nexus S after the hype, went through two replacements before I got one that functioned properly. In the end, I still couldn't come to terms with the fact I was essentially buying another Samsung phone. I did some comparison shopping. Turned my S back for a refund and got a MT4G.
I did have to exchange the MT4G one time to get one with a good display, so I wasn't too happy at first, but now I'm much happier than I was with the Nexus S. It's got a more solid build, the camera is better, the buttons are responsive (big problem with the Nexus), the GPS locks quickly, I trust an HTC device 100x more than a Samsung device, and considering that we are getting Cyan 7 nightlies that are already fairly stable, I know I've made the right choice.

Thats what I would do... Make a post, selling a Nexus S you haven't traded for yet, and see how many hits you get... if you get some legit hits.. I would trade the MT4G for the NS and sell the NS, then buy a MT4G or wait for some of these next-gen phones to come out. I LOVE the MT4G....it is amazing...think the NS fails in comparision...and anyone that would pick a NS over the MT4G is prolly just doing so because they are google fanboys, or they don't want to admit to themselves they paid 500 dollars for a phone that is basically the iphone with bugs....I honestly don't think anyone looking at the matchup objectively would pick the NS over the MT4G. Good Luck with your decision making, hope it works out.
You really want to get some unbiased answers post this same question in the Nexus S forms... Btw, I agree with the poster above if your heart is set on a mytouch 4g turn around and sell the Nexus S you acquire and obtain a mytouch 4g with the better built screen and possibly a better exterior color, like black

LOL now now lets not be that harsh, NS can still beat down the iPanzy 4 with its eye closed. But NS does not compare against MT4G as we know TMo Project: Emerald was successful IMO they created a monster muahaha and even its brother DHD can't beat MT4G in speed yet they share similar spec. NS could have been good but its crippled by Samsung due to their inferior management and other marketing factors.
If I am not mistaken doesn't the hummingbird processor take advantage of gingerbread in ways any generation of the snapdragon processor cannot? Or was this a myth?

Originally I wanted the nexus s but my parents got me the mytouch.
To me 2.3 was a huge bonus for the nexus s but now the mytouch has 2.3 so its all good. The next advantage was the better screen for the nexus but now that super amoled two displays are coming out the nexus screen will be obsolete soon enough.although if I was you I would just wait for the phones announced at ces to come out.

Yeah, you're pretty much going to get biased opinons, but I think the myTouch has a better chance of anything at this point. We got the CM7 nightys coming along nicely, and we even have a cleaned up version of the stock rom which runs like fire (Iced Glacier) and overall it supports TMobile's 4G network.
MyTouch all the way. You really don't need the NFC for another couple of years cause they're just starting to put some use to it.
MyTouch all the way, and plus read some of the stuff about the Nexus, it's having lagging issues, random reboots and such. And plus it's a Samsung device, that doesn't mean it won't get the next version of Android quick, but the fact that it's just a samsung device and that it feels like ****. The Mytouch (at least mine) feels solid.
ATM its just a myth as Hummingbird S5PC110 does not stand a chance with Snapdragon MSM8255 was only factor with 1st gen Snapdragon. But however at the same time credit must be given to SGX 540 as its slightly better than Adreno 205. Then again this is where Samsung can only excel huh in graphic and SAMOLED display. Also don't let the whole NS using ext4 BS get to you as we are still not in dualcore world fully but ext4 does have its benefits. Overall MT4G beats NS with its face down in the gutter where Samsung belongs. This device is not any type of flagship but it does have potentials as lineup device, only thing I see holding it back is Samsung lol and then again they tend to do that.
I've had both but ultimately chose the MyTouch because having 4g speeds made a huge difference in the entire experience. On the NS I was always having to run wifi. Also the NS just never felt complete. Running CM7 makes the MT4g a complete phone.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using Tapatalk
Dont, Nexus S isnt really a that good of phone plus u have gingerbread etc and Nexus S is samsung made. Cheap quality. MT4g kicks its ass in CPU and Some GPU stuff ( shader performance and more) so i say keep it
If you have 2.3 on your mt4g there is no point. That's the only thing the nexus s has over mt4g out of the box. Plus the mt4g has 4g and HTC is better than Samsung by a long shot...

might take my mytouch 4g back

and get the galaxy s 4g,been seeing the problems with this phone but that dang screen is very nice and i have just a few days to return it so good or bad move?
Good move! I did the exact same thing. Luckily my 14 days with the mytouch ended a day after the Galaxy S 4G came out. I love the nicer screen, faster data, and lighter weight / more comfortable feel. But I will admit this, i'm just using it for something to get me by until the pyramid or galaxy s 2 come out. If I was looking to keep it for a long time I would take into consideration that the MyTouch 4G will have much more support from the hacker community. CyanogenMod for example(my favorite rom that I used on my NexusOne) already has great support out for the Mytouch 4G while there is just now support coming for the Vibrant and you won't know if it will support HSPA+. So I guess My answer is that if you want the best option that's out right now, get the Galaxy S 4G. But if you have aspirations to hack and rom your device right now, you'll probably be happier with the MyTouch 4G.
And in case you're wondering, I have got noticeably higher data speeds with the GS4G. But I can tell that the MyTouch performs better when it comes to processing speeds.
I came from a mt4g.. I had I for about 3 months. Galaxy is the way to go.. it's just an all around joy to use

I have a question for you guys, my gf got the gs4g a couple days ago we live live in CA. And lets say the GS 2 come out how dose the return thing go
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I believe California has a 30 day return window. I highly doubt the GS2 will come out in that window but if it does you can return the GS4G, pay a restock fee and get the GS2.
Oh and if it dosnt is there a way to get out of the contract?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Nope. You want to make sure you have the phone you want within the buyers remorse period. I am not positive about CA policies but most places in the US the contact kicks in after 14 days. In CA I believe you can exchange phones within 30 days but you can't return it out right and get out of your contact after 14 days. You may want to check with your local store or call customer care for CA specific terms and conditions.
Thanks for your help, I realy apperciate it, so on the safe side if it within the first week it possiable to get out of the contract?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Should be fine. You return your phone and they revert you back to your original contact if you had one and reset your upgrade eligibility. You may have to pay a restock fee if they are applicable in CA.
Oh but I beleave she opened up her contract with this phone
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Then you should have 14 days to cancel your contact and service. You would just pay a prorated amount for how long you used your phone. Unfortunately it means you will have to cancel your service too and then just start fresh when a phone comes out you want. Just remember you can end up waiting forever for the "perfect" device. There is always going to be a better device on the horizon. The Vibrant and the GS4G are both good devices with active developers out there making ROMs and modifications for them.
i want it but dang if i could get by with it feeling so cheap.

I don't think there will be as many as there are for the Vibrant but the good news is the major developers have already committed to providing support. Team Whiskey already has some ROMs ready to go, right now we are just waiting for CWR to work with the GS4G and then the ROMs will be coming. Since the phone is so similar to the Vibrant development will be a lot easier and some mods and ROMs can just be ported over. For example The Team Whiskey Frost ROM for the Vibrant is actually built on the GS4G ROM. They have already been working with this phone. So there should be decent support.

I actually have not dug too deeply into the GS2's specs but from what I have been hearing it is supposed to launch a little closer to late spring, earlysummer time frame. But who knows!?

TMO didn't want my G2x ?

alright well now that i have both this and the sensation i figure i'd post this. i arranged with a tmo rep to exchange the my g2x for the sensation around 4 weeks ago. after 3 or so follow up calls from the rep the last time (after already having arranged an exchange) I was told that I would get the sensation rush delivered, free, and at no cost (nicest thing tmo has done for me in years ). BUT, I was also informed during that call that I would not have to return my g2x to them but would be able to keep it (swwweeeeetness!!!). Totally surprised me.
so the reason im posting this is to pose a question. Why would they not want my phone back when they are supposedly out of stock due to back order and also raised the price? mine has no screen bleed and is the best ive seen so far (ive had 5 total, this is the only one that doesnt have it). so would they actually be dropping the G2x or maybe changing something on it?
I don't think they would myself. its a good phone. actually its better than my sensation which is chilling off in the box due to locked bootloader and also the g2x has nvidia chip and all the games i want that the sensation won't play (at least not all of them) yet.
just seems weird that they wouldnt want the phone back, if not just to make up for revenue for giving me the phone free. i'm not complaining or anything, im very happy. it was a pain in the ass to return the phone so many times and deal with annoyed reps for a month. they messed up many times in a row including the previous phone i was supposed to receive before i hard heard of the g2x (SGS4G). anyways it just caught me off guard as sweet as it is.
You must not have read my part regarding this very same scenario. They did the same thing for me. I don't know how you purchased your G2X but I purchased mine at full retail so T mobile not only sent me a Sensation and let me keep my G2X, they also let me remain out of contact. T mobile rep told me there is nothing they can do with the G2X since LG won't take them back after 30 days.
Glad everything worked out for you and like you said, we just got to wait for HTC to unlock this sucker and see what it can really do. I have noticed that some games like Angry Birds and Home Run Battle 3D run smoother in the Sensation but other games like Fruit Slice run better on the G2X. I think its mainly sure to not being optimized for the 3rd gen Snapdragon and the higher resolution. I have found that most of my apps load faster and interact faster on the Sensation like Google Maps for instance. It loads almost twice as fast than it does on my G2X. I also have a hard time looking at the G2X after looking at the Sensation for a week. Now all words and icons look blurry as **** on the G2X which is something I never noticed before. Good luck.

Why ask why? Just keep the damn phone, it probably costs them a penny, besides they know you will go back to the g2x, so they want to save you the shame of you calling them back begging for the g2x.

Well I was guessing the cost as I saw how much they pay for the Sensation which is $339. You do realize that carriers don't make much on the phone and most of there profit comes from selling talk, text and data plans. By the way the G2X is no beast over the Sensation. The only thing out does better is play some games smoother and the UI is a little quicker. Once the Sensation drops sense it will be just as fast in the UI. I know this because I use both devices everyday. I still play Tegra games on my G2X like Riptide GP but I rarely user out for anything else. Most apps load quicker on my Sensation (Google Maps loads in half the time) and after looking at QHD, everything else looks fuzzy. So there you have it. The only 2 categories the G2X wind its UI speed and optimized gaming.

Actually just their Customer Service Department. I finally got a great Rep. but I have success usually with their Loyalty Department (but you have to be very convincing that youre ready to pay the cancellation fee and bounce). Just kept a level head and was calm and nice and reminded them that I had taken time off work to return the 4 previous faulty devices and that they had messed up my previous shipment (and that i was paying for 3g on my vibrant for 8 months before i discovered i was only getting 2g because of their sim card. that they should have told all their customers with a network wide text message to come in and get a new one in my opinion) which was a service I had been paying for and had not been receiving at no fault of mine.
T-mobile wouldnt let this happen
I called retention and loyalty and they would not let me exchange this and i have been a customer for 11 years. Please help me do this
hey dolphinwigs,
I got my g2x with a new 2 year contract in april, and it's way past the exchange date for me. is there any way still for me to exchange for a sensation? thanks
id just call them. i had some past history with them messing up so im sure that is what helped. that and i did get a very understanding customer service rep. there isnt really a trick its just up to them. i only posted because i felt it was interesting they didn't want the g2x back, and because at the time there were a lot of posts speculating lg and tmobile discontinuing the g2x. figured maybe that could perhaps have been an indication of that. anyways im just sharing the info. also i had 4 g2x phones that had major issues before the last which only had a few. so they were just being cool im sure.

Yes, I will be going after the Hercules providing it doesn't have a Quallcom or Tegra 2. Samsung is innovating more than any other Android manufacturer right now and I will give my money to them for it. At this point their making some of the best displays, best mobile memory and best CPU's. They have also been updating like crazy lately.
Oh, and by the way. Your thread should be getting closed any minute now. There is a certain mod here who doesn't like when people talk about getting rid of his favorite phone.

Stop crying, no one gives a f*ck. Many people are here for information and have more than enough money to buy numerous phones without selling the last one. What's funny is the fact that you're still in this forum trying to justify selling your phone. And you get mad when no one gives a f*ck.
Hopefully that certain mod is around.
Yeah why is that dude still here? Go to the sensation forum man....

Yup, going to def get it. Can't wait, counting down the days. I got 5 lines so I got plenty of upgrades available, lol.
I'm gonna have to get use to the 4.5" screen, but o'well.
Other than that everything else looks good.
....
me, i'll be getting it for sure. probably sell my g2x to use towards it. and.....this will most likely be my last smartphone. i'm 43, have a wife,2 teenage daughters and a 2 year old boy. my $160 unlimited everything on 2 lines could be better spent elsewhere. i think i reached the point where i'm done paying these insane prices. hell, i rarely even make phone calls. and the only time i REALLY use the internet on my cell is to stream music while at work. i've come to this decision over the last few days. i thought the g2x would be my last major phone. but....mmmmm....hercules! lol. i'm not too concerned about the processor. like i said, last phone. and when att takes over, i'll probably just get a tracfone,or,......a jitterbug lol. i've had every other brand smartphone, except a sammy. so i can't leave the scene until i add that to my years of smartphones.

I'm always looking for the next greatest, but I think I'll stick with my G2X until the nexus 3 launches. This LG nonsense has taught me to stick with pure google cause manufacturers can be counted on for ignoring you after the sale.
Knowing about the AT&T take over, my plan was to buy a G2x outright and then use my upgrade within a year to lock me in to a price point.
I don't know about the Hercules. Sure it is a nice phone but a side step mostly. Kinda like the Nexus one to the nexus S. Both the G2x and SGS2 are great phones but neither warrant an upgrade over the other.... at least not worth paying money for. As a free upgrade I'd take one but not for another $200 or so.
I'll probably wait until after the new year and see what becomes available. My G2x is a beast of a phone and I have zero issues with it.

Hell to the yes. Although I bought the Sensation right out of the gate and was so underwhelmed, I might give it a couple weeks to see if there are any major issues. But I've been having creamy dreams about the herc since I first heard the rumors of it.

What am I crying about? What does having money or selling phones have anything to do with what I said? If that comment was meant towards myself, I held onto my G2X months after getting my Sensation and I still have my Nexus One. I sell my old phones after realizing I have no real use for them.
Thanks for proving my point though. I knew someone would. And by the way. I still have my G2X since the only jack ass who bid on the phone was a user with zero feedback and still hasn't paid. Looks like nobody even wanted it for $280. I may have overpriced it! At this point Ill probably just hold onto it if nobody here wants it. What's the point of selling it when I'm going to take a $300 hit. If that's the case, ill just keep it so I can still play the Nvidia games.

Wrong thread dude...
But no, I will not be purchasing the Hercules. I'm gonna wait for the next Nexus Phone.
I don't understand why people think the Hercules is the new gs2 that surfaced yesterday. Why would they call the phone "Hercules" when its clearly inscribed on the back "galaxy s II".
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Well the vibrant has galaxy s in the back and was called vibrant so Mayb the same thing is happening with Hercules ..........
And yeah ima try to get it too but ima wait month or two before i buy it just to see everything gets worked out first .....

Here in the house ill be struggling with this personally. I came from the iPhone then captivate(swore last purchase EVER from Sammy) then nexus one then mytouch4g then nexus s then s4g then g2x. Now that being said. I still use the g2x my wife uses my nexus s and I kept the s4g around as a spare. Oh I forgot the HTC hd2. I have a real issue going to Samsung again. The captivate reallllly soured me and the nexus s was not a.large upgrade IMO over current market phones when it arrives. Its value was Google.
The debate for me is Hercules power or nexus 3 which is very likely to be Samsung produced as well but will at least be Google updated.

After reading the specs on that beast unfortunately I will be leaving my g2x behind and giving the hercules a try. I'm feeling that 4.5 inch display and samoled + if it truly looks as sexy as the Nexus s did thats a plus as well may even be my last phone.......until a quadcore comes around
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Yes as soon as it releases I will trade in g2x for it
Sent from my Galaxy Tab 7in.
Meh, the extra RAM doesn't mean much to me and I couldn't care less about storage space. As for screens, the G2X's is perfectly fine.
My next phone is probably going to be around the time when ICS comes out. I'm thinking 1.5 GHz dual core, maybe something in quad-core. And 1.5 GB ram, maybe 2. A significant jump is really what I'm aiming at here.

Want to upgrade but willing to wait

So they convinced me to get out of flexpay and reset my upgrade a year earlier than it was supposed to be. Looking at the sgs2 but not liking its Samsung. What do you guys think or what have you heard? Are there any HTC phones that are a drastic improvement from the mt4g coming out?

Not that I've heard. I'm waiting until until T-Mobile gets something with a S4 (4th gen Snapdragon) and over 1 GB of RAM. I got the MT4G right after launch and it was worth it then because it was the first phone in the U.S. with a S2 and 768MB of RAM. I'd milk the MT4G a few more months...it's still a fast phone with more than adequate performance.

I say wait as long as you can.. the sgs2 is a nice phone but I read the sgs3 is coming out, the specs are great. As for HTC the edge seem to be a new phone with great promise as well. As for the Mt4g it's still a great phone for atleast the next 2yrs.

If I was replacing my MT4G, I'd probably aim for an Amaze 4G or try to stick it out until the next generation of phones hit.

I agree to stick with your MT4G and wait a while...the HTC Edge does look like an awesome device
HTC Sensation, Sensation XL, or Amaze 4G in my opinion.
Just wait. At the rate phones come out, roms come out as well. Xda has your back! Unless it breaks, hold off on the upgrade.

Depending on what carrier(s) it's available for, the Asus Padfone is looking pretty sweet
I would wait a bit, especially with the tegra 3 chip in the horizon
Every time I want a new phone, I flash a new ROM. Best way to get your current phone to act like a new phone. Left MIUI for Febs ICS beta recently. It's so amazing It will save you a lot of money comparatively too.
I have an HTC HD2 (T-Mobile version unlocked, on AT&T) and I am looking at getting a T-Mobile plan. My HD2 had Android 2.3.7 (AmeriCan Android). It runs the SD card, so I can still use WM6.5.
So, when I go to T-Mobile, the free phones they have (at Costco) lists the MT4G, which looks like the best free one.
But, when I compare what Costco / T-Mobile and PhoneScoop.com say are the specs, they don't match.
I'm wondering if going from the HD2 with Android to the MT4G is worth it. I know I can keep the HD2 and if I don't like the TM4G as much I can switch back (or even back and forth), but I was wondering what MT4G users think of their phones.
Also, does anyone change to a newer version of Android before the warranty runs out?
I love my mt4g. no the specs should all be the same. I get over a day running cm7 overclocked to 1.5ghz with normal use. Was going to use the phone as a present to control a Logitech harmony base but. Have decided to wait till HTC makes there next big one not really liking sgs2 after using one.

Oh dear god PLEASE DON'T BUY THE "LG MYTOUCH 4G"....it's not the real mt4g and you wont get any rom support
Oh yeah I forgot about that phone yeah stay away from LG at all costs!

Honestly wait... I had the mt4g from launch up to about 2 weeks ago... tmo offered me a sensation as a warranty replacement.. don't get me wrong, it's a nice device, but the mt4g dev section makes me miss my old phone. Unless it's free (aka me getting the sensation didn't effect my bill, upgrade date or contract..) , I'd stick with the mt4g.

I will watch out for the LG version to avoid it, but I was looking at T-Mobile from Costco. They have the T-Mobile® myTouch™ 4G Black, and in the pictured you can see "HTC" on the back.
The reason I was looking at this was it is $0.01 from Costco, and it seems to be pretty good compared to my HTC HD2, and I'm running Android, like the mt4g, so I thought that would be a good step.
Thanks!

The development of this ROM is amazing. I got lucky and didn't realize that before I bought the phone, but the MT4G is a fantastic phone for $0.01 on contract.
Either way though, I may suggest a dualcore if it ever goes on a sale. Quite sure there was a time when the SGS2 was like $0.01 during Christmas for T-mobile. Try and look for deals like that.

The SGS2 deal was something like $200 down, with $200 mail in rebate, and $20 per month for 20 months! Not quite the deal I was looking for.
Not sure if I should wait for a better deal toward the end of the month, or take the plunge now!
Anyone know if any T-Mobile deals are coming soon?
You are only going to get a great deal on T-mobile if you aren't a current customer (just my opinion). Otherwise, wait until you are eligible for phone upgrades.
