3g ON X7510 one place i see it work - Advantage X7510 General

I live in chicago and i have tmobile ..i read on how the x7500 and x7510 have different bands that dont work on tmobiles 3g band but here its working ..well in one spot i seen my x7510 work even video calling it may be a fluke but on jackson blue line stop under ground next to the stairs leading up to street i can see the triangle and i even tried video calling and it works odd very odd only this spot does it work

the X7510 will work on GSM phone network
it's just the 3G internet is that you might have problem with the 1700 band on Tmobile
as the phone operates on HSDPA/WCDMA:
2100 MHz for Europe and
850/1900 MHz for USA
http://www.htc.com/www/product/advantage/specification.html

your rite but
it may sound weird but here were i live in chicago on downtown on the subway tunnel out of all the places i can get 3g and the video calling feature maybe a fluke but only one spot odddddd

Which phones are capable of using Tmobile 3G network

As the title indicates I am curious if there exists any phones outside of those offered by Tmobile that are capable of using its 3G network (1700 & 2100 MHz). None of their 3G phones catch my eye and am curious if anyone can point me in the direction of some other possibilities.
Thanks for your time...
Jay
Att and tmobile use different bands for 3g.... so i know none of att's will work. (alltel i really doubt, but would have to look it up) Cell providers do it on purpose to lock there services to there own phones for good.... So you'll probably have to switch providers or settle for 2g speeds
I have not seen any devices outside of Tmob usa that have their strange 3g 1700/2100 combined bands...unfortunately!

ATT 2G mini tower forcing Edge

My office has an 850 abnd ATT mini cell installed in our server room. The tower was installed because we were getting bad blackberry coverage which are all Edge models. I happen to sit directly outside of the server room and am about 15 feet from the mini cell tower. My Fuze is insistent on using the 850 2G connection instead of getting a 3G signal. I am in downtown Chicago which has fairly decent 3G coverage. I am on the 50th floor of the ATT building but I can't get ATT 3G service! I can go down to lower floors and I have no problem getting 3G. I can only assume my phone is being told "hey, I have a killer 2G signal, lets use that!"
I am able to disable 3G by using com manager. Does something similar exist for disabling 2G? Is there something I can do when I am at work to not use the 850 band? Unfortunately, moving is not an option.
You can enable the 'band select' part of the phone options, and lock it to WCDMA
As I recall, the registry entry to do so is:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting]
"ShowUMTSBandPage"=dword:00000001
Att uses cdma?
I do believe Da_G just had a bad mental picture of the screen he's talking about.. The page in question is not page you'd tend to visit frequently
Top drop down: Auto, GSM, WCDMA
Bottom drop down: Band selection
I don't The exact options for whats in "Band selection" but it lets you force the phone to use only certain frequencies... The only problem I see is, I do believe AT&T uses the same frequencies for 2g and 3g... or at least depending on what area you're in, 3G might be on 850, or it might be on 1900.. so you travel a bit and your 'force 3g' doesn't work anymore... i'm too tired right now to figure out if your phone would still work in such a situation... I think so >.>
I already had the band select reg key applied. I changed the phone options from auto to WCDMA.
I am seeing an H instead of E but I am not seeing HSPDA speeds. It "feels" like I am on a 2G connection. One speed tst did show 483kbut/sec but I am use to seeing 1200-1500 when I have true 3G.
I know ATT uses different bands in Chicago for 2G and 3G. If they start using 850 for 3G like BG reported then my problem will dgo away.
I just want to stream Cubs games from my MEdiaCenter while im at work... is that so much to ask? Need at least 768 to get a decent picture.
Sounds like you need to enable the Advanced Network tool, and turn on HSUPA

Your typical "GSM" carrier uses Wideband CDMA (W-CDMA) technology for 3G.
The correct answer is NO att does not use cdma. lol
What kind of answer was that anyway? "typical?" hahahha
(ok work time! this 5e isnt gonna install itself
hi
just used bandswitch and change to UMTS then do a solf reset

[Q] 3G900 on O2 UK

I have not been able to find much information about this at all, and totally forgot about it.
My 3G coverage is absolutely **** at home, but 2G is pretty decent. According to the coverage map on O2's site, I should have good 2G and 3G indoors and outdoors, but as I said, I'm lucky to get even 1 bar inside.
My question is this, how do I know what spectrum the Desire S is using? I know it supports 900 MHz 3G, but how do I check if it's using it or not? Or is there any way to force it? Because I haven't seen any improvement since the 3G900 switched on, is there anything to do with the radio perhaps?
Bump !?!?!?!?!
It's a matter of checking what networks are appearing and working out from there which one is which frequency spectrum, for me I have a Telstra Mobile (GSM), Telstra Mobile 3G (850hz) and 3Telstra (2100hz).
Scan and see what networks appear, then even Google their individual names and see if you get any responses as to what spectrum they are.

I know that my network (O2 UK) recently activated their 3G/HSPA services on the 900 Mhz band (in addition to the 2100 Mhz), in order to extend coverage.
See this: http://blog.o2.co.uk/home/2011/05/superfast-900mhz-3g-explained.html
My question is that because I have seen no difference, even in the major city centres listed there, is there a way to find out if my phone is actually trying to use the 900 Mhz band for 3G or is it just staying on 2100 Mhz, how to check, any way to force?.. etc etc etc

4g inside versus outside

So I have ran into a problem, and wasnt sure what would be causing this, but its really pissing me off.
At work, and at home, I have 4g, if I am outside. As soon as I step inside, it changes to 3g. Why would my phone be doing that? I do not have any Airrave devices or anything like that.
Well I guess it depends on which network you're picking up...
As I understand it Sprint has 2 bands on LTE - 800mhz and 2500mhz. One is Clearwire, I think 2500mhz is Clearwire...
At any rate, 800mhz penetrates buildings and walls very well. 2500mhz, not so much... So if you're picking up LTE in that high band, you might not get it indoors.
Well thats dumb. Not your post but how that works. They should fix that crap!
Not to offend "arrrghhh", but he is wrong on the LTE. Sprint is deploying 4G LTE currently on the PCS G Block, or the 1900MHz spectrum. This the exact same frequency that Sprint has voice and 3G (well, its very close to it). The Motorola Photon Q ONLY has the capability for 1900MHz LTE. The 800 MHz LTE and 2500MHz LTE aren't deployed yet, and will not work on the Photon Q anyway.
I suspect that when you are outside, your phone is connecting to a 4G tower that is farther away, while a 3G only tower is closer. Once you step inside, your phone can't connect to the 4G tower as its farther away. But, the 3G tower only tower is closer, and the phone falls back to the second tower. The good news is that Sprint will get LTE on your closest tower, and you will get LTE at your home.
As for Sprint's bands, Sprint has two bands: 800 Mhz and 1900MHz. The 2500MHz spectrum is from Clearwire, and has not been deployed yet.
The Motorola Photon Q does not have the capability for 800 MHz LTE nor 2500MHz LTE.
Thanks for the replies guys.
I stand corrected.
Thank you.

[Q] Jiayu G3 Signal Confusion

I got a Jiayu G3 knowing it would be a gamble concerning whether or not it supported 3G on the AT&T network, which operates 3G on 850mhz and 1900mhz.
Naturally, I lost the gamble and was stuck with EDGE, or so I thought. I was driving around today, just 1-2 miles away from my home when I looked down at my phone and noticed the H over my cell signal. I ran a speed test and sure enough it confirmed HSPA due to the 4mb down and 1mb up speed. I even go to network provider search menu and it shows both AT&T 2G and 3G selections. Then as I went back home I noticed it was back to EDGE again. Now I have an old Samsung dumb phone that shows what band you are on in a developer menu, and I confirmed both 850mhz and 1900mhz bands have decent signals in my house, yet my Jiayu can't connect to it.
Can anyone help, this has really confused me.....

I think you missed the part that I actually get 3G in some areas, and it's definitely not on 2100MHz. It's 850 or 1900MHz.
