How do I add custom Notification sounds to the Inspire?
I've been able to add all my custom ringtones by creating a file on the sdcard called ringtones. Doesn't seem to work with a folder called notifications.
I was able to do this by creating a notifications folder on my external SD card. Are you rooted/ROMed? Or maybe you are running a ROM that doesn't support it?

I've got one there also.
Maybe revolution doesn't support it, or maybe its looking for another directory.
I could be wrong, but I think it has to he a capital N for Notifications folder. Worth a try anyway.

Got a folder there also.
Still no joy.
Ok. Found out one thing. You can't have any spaces in the file name. Now it's working.

All of my custom notification sounds are in a folder named "Notifications" in the root directory of my SD card. All of them have spaces in the file name.

I am a semi noob. I have a lot of flashing pretty much down pat. I have a question about the external sdcard. I know that pictures and such will not save to it unless you convert it over. My question is instead of downloading mods and such to invert the two couldn't one just rename the two sdcards so that external sdcard becomes internal and vice versa? Just a thought and if not maybe someone could clarify what I need to do to make it happen.

you can change the default save location so pictures will save to ext. the only reason the card would need converted to fat32 is so cwm can see it.

you should be able to open the camera app/settings/ scroll down to storage location. it should have the option phone or memory card.
Its not giving me that option

Oh ok Im on Beans Touchwiz right now and the camera app has those options...couldnt remember if aosp camera did or not. One other thing you can try is reformatting the sd fat32 and moving the camera/dcim folder to external from internal sd.
If Paranoid Android is anything like CM10 you're stuck using the internal for now unless you find a camera app that will change it to external. Renaming the cards like that, if it would even work to fool the camera, would mess up everything else that uses the internal card.
I have been having similar issues. If I were you, I would flash to a different rom until they get the camera and sd card issues fixed. I love that rom also, but I can't even get wifi to work on it in hybrid mode. Give it a little while and I'm sure the devs will come up with a fix
Thanks guys for the speedy responses
I'm trying to root and I'm following the guide posted for the BLK3 firmware (I'm on stock OTA Jellybean); I have two problems and am hoping someone can help: the first is that I don't know which folder is my SD card. Is it the SCH-I535 folder that appears when I plug in my phone that says "phone storage" and has several folders like: "DCIM, Alarms, etc," or is it the folder titled: "CD: G" that has a couple of Verizon apps on it? Also, when I tried to drag the SuperSU file and the Bootloader file into the SCH folder it wouldn't allow that--there was a black circle that popped up over the folder. I have USB debugging checked, btw. Of course, I also have MTP checked. Could that be a problem? If so, how do I uncheck it? It won't allow me to.
If you cant transfer the file to your phone just browse to the post on ur phone and download via your phone. Im to lazy to plug my phone into my computer personally so I just use dropbox to transfer anything I want to my phone, or airdroid if its a bigger file.
If I download them will they save to internal or external? That's my problem

So how do I get it into external? I don't see SD card 1 with file explorer (I can only see 0). Don't you need Root to see the other areas of the phone with root explorer? Also, I'm trying to do the root process, but I get stuck at the "Flash custom recovery" step. I've done it three times now, but no matter how many times I flash it (Odin says recovery imagine nand write start, RQT_Closem RES_OK, etc," and once I go back into Odin mode I don't see the custom recovery. :l

I tried going to mnt > extSdcard > move file and it wouldn't allow that. .it's effectively locked down. >.< Should I try something other than ES file explorer?
Turns out it didn't have an SD card in. So I just put the one from my Rezound in--we should be good now. O:
It says "custom binary download: 4 counts;" which I know is because I've attempted to flash my custom recovery four times--but every time I reboot after doing that it still gives me the Samsung recovery. What to do?
I don't know if this will work for everybody, but I was able to get my screenshot working with a pretty quick and easy fix. So using ROM Toolbox Pro (this DID NOT work using just Root Browser or Total Commander), I went into the Root Browser within RTP, went to my sdcard (internal) and added a new folder "Pictures" . Inside "Pictures" I created a new folder "Screenshots". Backed out of RTP, took a screenshot, and success! No guarantee it'll work for all, but give it a try.

Just to clarify, the 'screenshots' folder needs to be created in any of these locations.
Code:
/sdcard/Pictures/
/storage/sdcard0/Pictures/
Or
/mnt/sdcard/Pictures/
They are all linked, so it only needs to be created on one of the locations, whichever is easier to get to for y'all.. I think it is the same on all the 4.3 roms.
'sdcard0' is the internal sd, 'sdcard1' is external SD card. If pictures is already there only the screenshot folder needs to be created.

Some of you have likely figured this out, but after spending a few minutes poking around ES File Explorer Pro and being unable to locate my 64GB SD card, I finally found the location.
From the root of Device Storage, go to /storage/. Your name will likely vary, but mine was found as /storage/6D31-DA1D.
Having an SD card in my work S5, it was much easier and just required looking for ExtSDCard under /mnt/.

Just to add, the same applies to a SD card attached using an OTG adapter as well. Not as much need to use OTG now except for those times when you just want to transfer something over quickly.

6D31-DA1D looks like the assigned serial number after the card is formatted. If that is true, then everyone will have to look for a different hex number for their card.
BTW is ES File Explorer allowed write access the SD card without root?

First time you try to write to the SD card, you get prompted to follow some steps. From there on, it can write to the card without error. Created a test folder and file on the root to verify.

So I gather that Marshmallow didn't inherit the Lollipop "Apps can't write to SD card" rule. That's good news. I prefer to transfer files from my PC to the phone via WiFi. Never made sense to have to use two file managers to copy files to the SD card.

They are restricted by default, but you can grant them access if they've been updated to know how to properly request it. Google made that change awhile ago, but most apps or OEMs never implemented it.
Root Explorer force closes on me upon tapping "select" to write to my SD card. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

This happened to me after running Package Disabler, also complete inability to write to SD card with ES, MI, or any other file explorer. Turns out Package Disabler flags External Storage(com.android.externalstorage) as bloatware and I had to make sure I unchecked and enabled it again.

I don't think Root Explorer is the issue because no file manager app I've tried allows me to write to the sd card.
Every time I try to save something to my sd card, it gives me an error. The path is correct. Did Marshmallow change how things were saved to the sd card or something?
Bump
Usually when you want to save/delete something from the sdcard it should ask you to grant it permission, then you have to choose the root dir of the sdcard and that should be that.

As far as I know this is not possible. Are your trying to save files from within an app or are you using a file explorer? If you are using an app (like office), can you try to save to the app-specific folder in Android/data/... ?

I tried slide, it seems like its an app issue, i'd contact the developer. After choosing the save location it should ask you to grant it permission to save to the sdcard but it doesn't.
