J decided yesterday to run the update and all was working spectacularly. I had everything I needed and all my apps came back. However, I was feeling good about myself and decided that I wanted to do the overclocking as well. So I flashed that part of the update, the XOOM rebooted (partially) - it never left the big red M screen. I have tried to SBF (which isn't working - the process fails before it even starts). I can get to fastboot, but once there, there isn't anything that I can do to bring the XOOM back to life. It looks like I'll be paying Verizon a visit unless some supergenius dev has a 're-animation' method that I have not yet considered. I'm currently going through very painful withdrawal symptoms and would really appeciate the help of anyone else who has been through this.
Many many thanks in advance.
If all you did was flash a new kernel, then you should be able to flash the stock kernel from fastboot and that should get you fixed. If you're still on 3.0, then you can get the stock images from Motorola (I don't have the link handy). If you're on 3.1 then I'm sure someone can get you a copy of the stock boot image.

At the time this all happened, I had just successfully upgraded to 3.1. However, when I tried to use RSD Lite 4.9 and the HR139 image to perform the normal SBF procedure, it kept failing out with a message referring to the fact that it cannot find some type of initialization in the INI file. I'm totally lost and feeling somewhat depressed and stupid.
If you can get to Red M you should be able to get into get into bootloader by powering on by holding power and volume down. Then as long as adb recognizes device follow this.
http://www.xoomforums.com/forum/mot...s/2788-how-restore-3g-4g-system-boot-img.html
It just pushes stock images with adb and not rsd
Edit; in your case hold power + volume up to reboot device, then immediately hold volume down until Rsd protocol words come up then hook xoom to computer. Don't follow first step in guide because you are already in bootloader.

As far as I know, there are no overclock kernels that work with 3.1, which is why you had the trouble you had. You'll either have to flash back to completely stock 3.0 or you'll need the boot img out of the 3.1 update.
Help
I tried overclocking my xoom with this link h t t p://w w w.dkszone.net/overclock-motorola-xoom-1.5ghz-detailed-guide[/url]. I did step 3 and it got stuck in "starting RSD mode 3". adb wont recognize my device. Please help.
I just bought a Xoom wifi version, but the xoom is lock with pattern lock.
I'm trying to do a hard reset but when i turn on the xoom wait 2 seconds and press the volume down it goes straight to ''starting fastboot protocol support''
The tablet turn on fine but is lock with a password, and the owner doesnt remember the code.
Can someone help me how to get to recovery to do a master reset??
Thanks
Is it stock? If it has cwm recovery you can boot into that easy enough by pushing vol down then vol up on the Moto logo when it restarts. If you can get into custom recovery and flash BRD's rom it should wipe it. If it's stock you can use RSDlite to flash the stock firmware. It will wipe it all out but you will get in.
You should be able to get around it by using the owners google account info but I assume you knew that before posting.
Is stock xoom.
To use RSDlite i need to boot into bootloader?
How i can do that in the xoom?
Thanks
You have done it already. When it said fastboot protocol it's in fastboot mode. I have never used RSD on my Xoom only on phones but I think that the computer should see it once it's booted into fastboot. I'm sorry but I don't know if you need your bootloader to be unlocked or not.
Do you have the SBF files already?
Is it US wifi version?
yes is USA version wifi only.
I need the sbf file for wifi only.
Thanks
This should be the download link for the US wifi only version.
You will need to register with MOTODEV to download the images, but it will only take a minute and that way you know the files are legit.
This isn't the SBF files but the actual images that you can use fastboot to flash. the instructions are on this page here.
If you get stuck this guy has a really good walk through you can follow. It's used for un-rooting but it's the same process.

Good luck
Thanks Man for the information.
I'll get back to you as soon I try it.
another question?

I downloaded the sbf file for xoom and I start running with RSDlite and now is stock at the Moto logo, I was thinking that it work for wifi but not, is for 3G version.
Now I'm screw.....
What i can do now.

Thanks
now im downloading the stock image.
I got it!!!
I bootup manually then unlock the bootloader and flash the stock image
and is working perfect.......
Thanks Man....
That's great that it worked out for you. I've never actually had to use those files to go back to stock but I have them handy in case I ever do. Just think you now know something that you didn't. Be sure to pass it on and don't be afraid to hit that thanks button .
Hi Guy,
I need you to help me out here, in the morning today i decided to upgrade my motodefy with cm7 i followed everything mentioned here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054447 , but as i rebooted after installing zips from sdcard my phone went into bootloader everytime. So i used an sbf file and used rsd lite 4.9 to flash. I have tried using so many different sbf but no luck. Now my phone wont power on, not even with vol + - keys. when i plug it to my pc the white led would glow and when i try to flash it using rsd it will show on my phone "sw update in progress" once done rsd will reboot my phone and say that it has passed but nothing happens on the phone.
PLEASE HELP!!
got my phone back using JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_179-002_DEBLUR_SIGN_SIGNED_UCAJRDNEMARAB1B80AA03A.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNFRYORTCEE_P016_A016_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf

Hi I accidently deleted my system 1 partition in BMM, then it failed on me and since then It wont boot, I still see the motorolla logo when I turn my phone on then it goes to a lit up gray screen forever. I tried finding the stock FXZ for AT&T but cannot find it, and RSDLite 6.0 wont recognize my device for some reason. Any help would be appreciated thank you

Hey there, allow me to point you in the right direction that should hopefully get you back up and running. Here's the link to the working SBF site for the AT&T fxz: Droid Devs SBF, if you had AT&T ICS before bricking then download the InlineFlashing_Edison_67.21.125_CFC_P3_APBP.xml zip file.
As for what to use to actually flash it with, RSD lite is notorious for giving many issues when trying to return to stock so what I personally use is this fast-boot script. It was made long ago by @alteredlikeness specifically for ICS, that will do the same thing with much less hassle. Here's the thread post with instructions on how to use it and the script download itself: FXZ Script. That should do it as long as you can get your phone into fastboot mode AND ensure your battery is charged enough or it will get stuck during the process (or not start if too low). Best of luck!:good:
