Stock recovery - T-Mobile LG G2x

So in my many attempts to flash with no USB cord to get nvflash and no SD card
I stumbled across the stock recovery
from what I've heard, when the phone is off and u press vol - and power it factory resets u. But no recovery
....
But
If you go to settings, SD and phone storage, and then u unmount phone storage
Then go to rom manager and click reboot to recovery
U reboot into stock recovery
I can't seem to actually make selections there...
And I was trying to find the folder in root explorer where the ota update would go so I could push a rom as a fake ota update
May be ridiculous and stupid of me but I was bored and I'm impatient as hell...
Blah fml not having my sdcard aand USB cord

[Q] help phone wont boot

i bought my phone from a shop called cex here in the uk i enjoyed my nexus i9020 till the power button stopped working i got it exchanged for a i9023 but the phone does not boot up and is stuck on the google part of the boot up where the lock is if your unlock the bootloader. normally i have to boot it though adb which is a hassle is there anyway to fix this ?
I donot know how to fix it completely but it is probably because you don't have any software or system on the phone which is whta happened to my brother's phone. I recommend getting help tto install an android system update manually (google search) and install it using recovery, install from sd card and choose the android system file zip.
Good Luck!

Try entering the fastboot mode by pressing and holding both Vol up and power button once there .. scroll down to recovery with volume down and press the power button on recovery ... once u see the triangle with exclamation mark in center... press but not hold power and volume up (might take a few tries)...once in recovery see if the phone has a Restore on it... if it does.. you are one lucky S.O.B lol

Since he can't boot Android there's only one (two if you count Odin) option.
unlock bootloader via fastboot.
flash cwm recovery from bootloader menu with adb.
format everything with cwm recovery.
download any rom for your device, eg the stock one from the sticky in general section.
mount usb storage (remember to mount /sdcard first).
copy rom onto storage, unmount storage, install zip from sdcard. done.

He doesn't have to flash cwm. He could just flash the stock rom via fastboot.

[Q] Totally bricked phone HELP

LG G2x totally bricked. I can not even access the USB drivers to put anything on the phone. All I can get to is Clock Work. I do not have any roms listed though to fix it. I do not have an external card as my roms were internal. What do I do? Is there any hope? Do I need just to get a new phone?
There should be a thread in the Dev section that'll hopefully resolve your problem just do a little bit of searching
i get as far as a lg logo with a blue background then nothing
Can you boot into download mode? If so, you can use multiple methods (heimdal, Odin, sbf) to flash a firmware, and recover your device. As long as I can boot into recovery or download mode, I consider it a soft brick, versus a hard brick (which won't allow your device to boot at all). There's still hope! Check the threads for a way to get your phone into download mode, and you'll be good to go in no time!

Your phone is not "totally bricked." In fact, it is not bricked at all. It is just borked a bit (think of it as a cell phone coma, not death). It sounds like you have an old version of CWM installed. Use the One Click flasher to flash CWM 5.0.2.0 and then you can flash from a physical micro SD card (put roms on sd card and then insert into your phone). After flashing CWM 5.0.2.0 format the system, flash the rom and then do a factory reset for good measure. After that your beloved G2X should be back to life.
Also, with older versions of CWM you can mount the internal sd card and then adb push the roms to it. When CWM is running, it is running a very trimmed down, rooted version of Android and ADB is available in CWM recovery. After mounting internal sd and pushing files, make sure you unmount it before attempting to flash a rom from it or reboot the device.
If what jboxer posted above me don't work first, check out "rom for recovery" thread in Dev section that will fix your phone.

[Q] I have a blank device need some help

So in clockworkmod I formatted boot, cache, system, and data. Sometimes I do this when having problems changing roms. Well this time I have a problem, the one and only rom on my phone is Bionix and it will not install. Now my phone will not connect to my computer. If I restart the phone it goes straight to the bootloader and says no boot or recovery image. I can scroll down to recovery and it will go to CWM 5 but I have no roms in there to flash other than Bionix. The computer will not recognize the phone in either fastboot or recovery so I have no idea what the heck to do to get this thing running again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
you can try going into CWM go to scroll to advanced then mounts and storage..then mount sd...connect phone to pc...n transfer rom to phone...u should b able to flash the rom then

Tried that. I'm going to pick up a new usb cord tonight at Best Buy and maybe that will get it.
maybe u can try reflashing recovery via fastboot then use mounts and storage and see if that will work..
If you can go in CWM then you're far from bricked, haha.
As neo_x22000 said
1) Go to Clockworkmod Recovery
2) Mounts and storage menu
3) Mount /sdcard
4) Mount USB storage
5) Plug phone to computer
6) ????
7) PROFIT!!!!
Got it working. The problem was the USB cord. Now running ICS! Thanks for all the help.

Rooted and updated firware of Sensation but ???

Task:
Trying install Virtous Inquisiton ICS Rom.
I rooted and update the firmware of my htc sensation.
I installed the virtuous inquistion rom but now have this annoying pop ups that I continually force close but they never go away.
(see attachments)
Then when I try to get back into Recovery mode to point to another rom, I can't as I'm stuck with this screen ?
(see attachments)
All it does it update successfully but then after I reboot it I get the above mentioned errors.
I say no, and it simply reboots.
Where do I go from here ?
What can I do next ?
Thanks for your help
EDIT: :what: woah I just realized your bootloader is still locked, did you s off using revolutionary? Follow the steps below to get into recovery but don't do anything else from there. You need to s off. I don't know enough about this phone yet to really figure out the mess you made, anyone wanna jump in?
Hi,
Delete the firmware update that you installed from your ad card by:
1. Take out sd
2. Boot into bootloader (phone completely off then hold power + volume down)
3. Select recovery
4. Once booting into recovery insert sd then mount to computer and delete from there
You should be able to normally boot into recovery now to flash whatever you need

1. Take SD card out
2. Boot into Hboot
3. Let Hboot stop looking for PG58IMG.zip (You know all the stuff you see pop up and then go away)
4. Put SD card back in device
5. Select recovery
6. Select Mounts ad storage
7. Select USB

Do you have a card reader or another phone with a microSD slot? If so just hook that up to your computer and delete the firmware file
Let me know how it goes!

Ok basically all you have to do is find a way to delete the PG4*8.IMG then boot into recovery and flash a different rom, don't forget to wipe

Hmm, you should try to flahs it back to official firmware, or try to get to enable storage via cmw menu, if that doesnt work, just flash it back

You need to flash the boot.img of the ROM that is why the device will not boot into the OS. You can either use fastboot commands or flash 4 EXT Recovery and use the Smart Flash in it. Download this PG58IMG.zip and place it on the root of your SD card, you can put his SD card in your Sensation and download the file to the SD card. Jusgt make sure you move it to the root of the SD card. Then put the SD card in his Sensation and power the device on holding the volume down button down. When Hboot comes up it will detect the file and ask you if you want to flash it, press the volume up button and let it flash. Then take the SD card out of the device and press the power button to reboot the device. Next put the SD card with the ROM in the device and select recovery. When 4 EXT Recovery boots up select tools and then enable Smart Flash and then go back to the main menu and select install from sdcard thenn select choose zip fromsdcard and then select the ROM. Press yes and let the ROM flash and then reboot the device. It will flash the boot.img when it reboots and then reboot again and you should have a working device again.
I dont have a rom on the phone...that I know of...where can i get the stock one at?...really confused here, also i did the above file Pg58img and it said cid incorrect..update fail...where can i get the 4ext recovery?..ty so much!!!!!
I did some searching and found that the 4ext is an apk...cant use that as I have no useable phone....
