market will not open - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

market error. will not open Please help. I was wondering if there is a way to reload the market app..
For some reason the data was deleted. Now each time I load the market i get an error reading,
Error retrieving information from server.
Once I click OK the market closes. Please help. Thanks in advance

Not sure what you mean by the data was deleted? What data?
You can try going to settings > applications > Manage applications then go to ALL and for Market, Clear Data then reboot.
Are you rooted?

Android Market on Xoom not working please help!!

My market allows me to download and delete apps, However whenever i go to the section "my apps" the market always force closes. When it does that it says: "The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Ive turned mt Xoom off numerous times and still have this problem. Has this happen to anyone else? Does Anyone know how to fix this?
My Xoom is stock. Wifi
Go to settings , applications , manage applications , and finally , click on all . Scroll down to market and select it , clear data , cache , and force stop . When you reopen the market accept the terms and you should be good to go .

I've tried that multiple times and still it does the same thing. Ive done it and restarted the Xoom. Ive done it without restarting. Nothing is working. Any other ideas?
Not really a lot more you can do, you've already cleared the Market settings. next step from here would be a factory reset I think... unless someone else has any ideas?

i really dont wanna reset. Ive got over 70 apps installed. I dont wanna go through the process again. Im gonna keep searching for some kind of way around it. Can i uninstall the market and then re-install the apk?
Go to dataviz and download the documents to go directly from the site and it will fix the fc's.

first i thought u were crazy or just trying to advertise that app, however i went and tried to manually update that app and it force closed, then i went and uninstalled it and now my market is back to normal. Thanx Sir. Cutos to you!!!!

[Q] Titanium Backup Restore Question

So when I went to restore my apps on Titanium Backup, there is 1 app that would not restore (8sms). So eventually, I gave up and decided to install it from the google play store. Only problem is, every time I try to download it, I get "Unknown error code during application install '-505' "
I am guessing this has to do with Titanium Backup trying to restore it. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Go to data/app or data/app-lib and delete the folder of 8sms app then return to the play store.
Well, I'm actually getting the same error while trying to install Pure Calendar Widget. I'm trying to debug this error with my friend, the always helpful Francois Deslandes, its developer. The thing is, could it be related to the app trying to install to app-private?

An app doesn't have native rights to be installed into the system partition.

CMBackup sent an Email .

CM Backup will discontinue service on 2017/10/01.
From 2017/07/01, we will stop uploading service and only provide retrieval service.

I got the same message too... I am surised as Cm comany is not small company and offer many services which me & many others use several of them including cm backup,cm keyboard,......so they shouldnt have any problem to continue such good service...i still dont know which alternative i should turn to...
Yes it is closing. I had seen someone on another website post a screenshot from his phone saying the same thing while on the app.

The message was that CM backup was being closed , then On CM CLoud , there is a picture downloader software to back up down to PC.
Hello-- I just decided to use the quickpic cm could service and it seemed to back everything up 'someplace' but now I have no idea where...and for some reason it also removed all of the images from my phone...I tried to access from my gmail account and there is nothing at all. Their site sent me an email that my account was activated but nothing is there.

You can go the website : cloud.cmcm.com and login with your account. This website contains all photos backed up from Quickpic and CM backup.

The email said you wouldnt be able to get your pics back after the first of October. So your pictures are history. This is the risk you run when you store them on someone else's server.
I understand, quite a bit too late, that I my photos are gone, but I still had a ton a storage space left that I had purchased. How can I still access that? Any help appreciated.

From the sounds of it. It's all gone. You would t be able to access anything. That is just what I am getting from the email.
I have several CM accounts, never got any message for any of them, and the primary account just closed down while the others are still allowing uploads. Fact that it is run by Cheetah and their login page is in Chinese should tell you everything you need to know! Lesson learned
I just had the same email - does it only refer to the Cloud storage? If so, I don't use it (I don't use any cloud storage) so presumably I'm OK. It's the best app IMO and I don't want to lose my 1000s of pics from my phone!!!

You have done exact this step, like its mentioned on the link (下载快图备份的照片 / How to download photos from Quickpic) on the Top of the site after you are successfully logged in ? And you do it from a windows pc?

I need help please! PICTURES INSIDE.

So I can't install from Google play, I keep getting error code - 504. I've done a ton of research on the topic. I've done the entire factory reset. I've also done the whole clear data and cache to Android play and removed my account and added it back.... Literally nothing is working.. And I can't install the apps that I paid for..... Here is some pictures of the apps that I want to install and cant. Help me please.

Amazon apps will not work after restoring nandroid backup

Like the title says, none of my Amazon apps will work since I restored my nandroid backup. IMDB will open but won't allow me to sign in. They will all open actually, but the store app has the "Uh Oh" error and then the music app says I need to update Chrome, which isn't the case. Has anybody else had this issue? They were working fine before I had to restore the system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can try to wipe app data and enter login information again.

Yeah, tried that. My HTC was the only one with the problem at first, then my Huawei tablet had the same issue. Both with LOS ROM's. Magisk Hide worked on the tablet, but not on the phone. What's strange is after rebooting, the apps will work on the phone for about 5 to 10 minutes. The same issue with all Adobe apps, I have found out as well.
