For those of you who own the Ideos u8150:
Have you noticed that the text from widgets such as Minimalist Text and SiMi Clock look bad displayed on your screen? I have tested these widgets using many launchers (default, Zeam, Launcher Pro) and the only one that these widgets look good on is ADW.Launcher. Other launchers show a pixelated dark shadow around the text which looks bad on transparent background. Anyone know why this happens?
My guess is that the widgets were designed for 320x480 screens and the launcher app is having to re-size them to fit the 240x320 u8150 screen. ADW Launcher seems to handle the resizing great while the other launchers don't. Was hoping someone out there knew of a fix that will allow these widgets to look great with other launchers.
My current ROM is FusionIdeos 1.98. This may be the root of the problem but I doubt it.
See my examples:
The first pic is how SiMi Clock looks with default, Zeam, and Launcher Pro launchers. Notice the dark color around the white text. The second picture is SiMi Clock with ADW.Launcher. It looks great with it. No dark pixelated color around white text.

Never noticed this myself, but from your pics the difference can be seen. I think your theory about screen size is correct.
PS. Plz share the wall paper, thnx

I saw the pics from GSM Arena review of the HTC Trophy (a WP7 with Sense!)
The icons used for the Weather/clock app are huge and better than the old good Desire ones
I am wondering how hard will it be to port those weather icons into the Desire Roms for N1?
First thing first could someone ripe them from the Trophy's rom??
I could try to replace the png(s) in the framework file and see if it will work but what about the animations?
You can replace the icons but they will get re-sized as the Fancy Widget (the widget in question) is a 4x2 widget and allots a specific amount of room for the images.
The right xml's need to be edited to make it 4x3 and make extra room for the large weather animations in addition to placing them on the left hand side.
Fancy Widget?
I am talking about the stock Sense weather/clock widget that comes in EvilD and MM roms, you can resize Beatifull Widgets and surelly Fancy widget using ADW launcher, but anyway we still need those splendid weather icons from a WP7 rom
The HTC Sense clock/weather widget is called the Fancy Widget (not to be confused with a new Fancy Widget in the market).
When you re-size a widget in LP or ADW, it simply re-sizes the widget background. The Icons are not re-sized.
This maybe a strange request, because everyone wants exactly the oppisite. I really like the minimalistic look of the standard Launcher Pro dockbar. This isn't only due to the icons, but also because it hasn't a background, the icons just float. However, for certain reasons I can't use Launcher Pro, but I would really like that dockbar on a different launcher, like ADW or Go Launcher Ex or something.
Basically, what I want is this: the looks of Launcher Pro (because the dockbar is the main look of a homescreen replacement), but without using Launcher Pro. So if there's a launcher that just copies Launcher Pro, that's OK too.
By the way, does anyone know which icons are used in the following lockscreen (ignore the other homescreens)?

}
You could replicate the "floating" look by either using the "no dock" setting in ADWex or Go launcher. If there isn't such a setting you could simply create a transparent dock much in the way people create transparent Icons.
Nice! By the way, I see know that Go Launcher Ex uses something very similar (or the same) as Launcher Pro as its standard dockbar. I just searched with Google Images, but I suppose it showed me customized dockbars...
I really like this, because I think Go Launcher is even better than Launcher Pro.
Someone know something about the icons in the lockscreen?
In my quest in finding a 4x1 battery widget wich looks cool on my phone and tablet, i could'nt find any.
So i've developed a beautifull 4x1 battery widget wich has a nice and adjustable gradient.
The app comes in two flavours: The free version only includes one widget where the (not so expensive) payed version includes alot more...even a full working binary widget.
The widget runs from android 1.5 up to 3.2 so its very suitable for Tablets too

Great app! But would love to know what launcher and theme u are using?
My theme is not really what makes that homescreen
I'm using ADWlauncherEX with a custom dock image at the bottom.
All teksticons are created with "TextIconCreator for ADW" (you'll find it on the market by that name).
The clock is from "beautifull widgets" and the toggles below the battery are from "Widgetsoid".
all together you can build this kind of screen regardless of wich theme you are using.
Check out Battery XL Pro
DiamondJinx what clock/date widget is that? It is awesome!!
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using XDA Premium HD app
Its called "WP Clock 2.0" I love it
Hey, do you plan to include other widgets or the ability to add my own widget? I love the battery, but would want to try other graphics.
Another one, can you add a third color for the gradient? I have things in mind like moving from black through green to white or something like this.
Cheers
Oggy
I've looked around the forums here and haven't really found anything, and even did some Googling, but the only things coming up as far as tablet widgets were for 3.0+. IDK about you guys but I'm holding out on going up to ICS until the video problem gets worked out, so in the meantime I was wondering if anyone had any good widgets (useful and/or good looking) widgets to share for those of us on CM7 or stock w/ replacement launcher. I've been searching to no avail really, either they are all 3.0+ or just don't look right on the KF's screen.
HD Widgets, I heard it works well on the fire.
idono if it's just me but i installed hd widgets and all i can choose is weather widgets.
For transparent widgets on CM7 in ADW, I'm using Widgetsoid, Glass Widgets (news, calendar/clock, weather), and Free space. If you run GO launcher, you can use the GO Widgets in addition to the many widgets that will work on most launchers. The GO Widgets can be themed using installable theme packs (including transparent themes).

Is there Android launcher with soft shadows under the icons on homescreen(s) - like on this ipad:

"lightbox_next": "Next",

It seams the latest iOS doesn't have those shadows any more...
Icons with (soft) shadows
"It seams the latest iOS doesn't have those shadows any more... "
... which is the main reason why iOS looks like crap nowadays.
... and why Samsung's TouchWiz on S3, S4 and S6 look so nice
... and why TouchWiz on the S5 looks so bad
It strikes me that 1) no one has noticed this and 2) that none o/t 3rd party launchers has soft-shadows under their icons (although I've noticed that it has been requested many times on e.g. Nova and Apex. Even the TW-look-a-likes don't have soft-shadows
Weird, isn't it?
Their are a few icon packs with (crude) shadows e.g.
Naxos Round Icon Pack (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobilegeek.naxosflatround) also available in a rectangular version
Shadow theme (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ray.shadow.free)
Simplex Icons (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mac.simplexicons)
Of which the last one (Simplex) has IMHO the best drawn shadows though I don't like the white rounded rectangles.
Simple (but detailed) kitkat, JB or Holo icons with soft shadows (and none of that ugly flat stuff)... come on guys. Who can do it?

Didn't install it but as far as I can see, there are no shadows under icons. Maybe you didn't understand - I don't want launcher like iOS launcher, I just want normal Android launcher but with shadows under icons.
