This maybe a strange request, because everyone wants exactly the oppisite. I really like the minimalistic look of the standard Launcher Pro dockbar. This isn't only due to the icons, but also because it hasn't a background, the icons just float. However, for certain reasons I can't use Launcher Pro, but I would really like that dockbar on a different launcher, like ADW or Go Launcher Ex or something.
Basically, what I want is this: the looks of Launcher Pro (because the dockbar is the main look of a homescreen replacement), but without using Launcher Pro. So if there's a launcher that just copies Launcher Pro, that's OK too.
By the way, does anyone know which icons are used in the following lockscreen (ignore the other homescreens)?
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

}
You could replicate the "floating" look by either using the "no dock" setting in ADWex or Go launcher. If there isn't such a setting you could simply create a transparent dock much in the way people create transparent Icons.
Nice! By the way, I see know that Go Launcher Ex uses something very similar (or the same) as Launcher Pro as its standard dockbar. I just searched with Google Images, but I suppose it showed me customized dockbars...
I really like this, because I think Go Launcher is even better than Launcher Pro.
Someone know something about the icons in the lockscreen?

For those of you who own the Ideos u8150:
Have you noticed that the text from widgets such as Minimalist Text and SiMi Clock look bad displayed on your screen? I have tested these widgets using many launchers (default, Zeam, Launcher Pro) and the only one that these widgets look good on is ADW.Launcher. Other launchers show a pixelated dark shadow around the text which looks bad on transparent background. Anyone know why this happens?
My guess is that the widgets were designed for 320x480 screens and the launcher app is having to re-size them to fit the 240x320 u8150 screen. ADW Launcher seems to handle the resizing great while the other launchers don't. Was hoping someone out there knew of a fix that will allow these widgets to look great with other launchers.
My current ROM is FusionIdeos 1.98. This may be the root of the problem but I doubt it.
See my examples:
The first pic is how SiMi Clock looks with default, Zeam, and Launcher Pro launchers. Notice the dark color around the white text. The second picture is SiMi Clock with ADW.Launcher. It looks great with it. No dark pixelated color around white text.

Never noticed this myself, but from your pics the difference can be seen. I think your theory about screen size is correct.
PS. Plz share the wall paper, thnx
This came out kinda kool I guess.
Not able to run sony home on custom rom or whatever & wishing you had the the look of the new home stage?
Why not make it part of the wallpaper, problem solved....kinda. Until you wana change papers anyway. lol - eb

X10a UL BL - FXP CM9/7.2
W FXP CM9 & Apex Launcher
On FeraVolt ROM this homescreen, along with all the other colours, is available to use and they look real nice
With the Home Stage flattened into the image???
Please read before you post. eb
Home stage? whats that
Really? Are you being sarcastic?
I'm not sure how else to explain it, dock maybe?
Just to clarify, the screenshots above (top) are the actual wallpapers themselves and not just a shot from a device of an empty home screen. The dock is part of the wallpaper and not removable.
Stock based users probably would never have much need for something like this as Sony Home is usually present.
This would be more for custom use with launchers like ADW or more particularly ICS type launchers where it may be hard to customize or change the dock. In the bottom shot the launcher dock settings are set to "hidden" which is usually the case anyway w ICS-style launchers.
Its really just a simple illusion I through together in photoshop.
Anyone still not sure what it is should probably just download and look at them. What is that they say, a pictures worth a thousand words?
Hope this helps, wasn't trying to confuse anyone. eb
I am liking the app so far but I have one problem. I can't seem to find the default widget for weather with the clock when I try to add the widget in apex launcher. Is there a way I can get it or is or disable or something.

I assume you mean this widget:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

}
That clock and weather widget is part of the Touchwiz launcher, and can only be used when using the Touchwiz home launcher, unfortunately Apex can't access it because that clock and weather widget relies on the Touchwiz framework to work which only the Touchwiz home launcher can access.
im not the OP but yes, thats is the one i cant find in widget list once on apex launcher...which makes me sad, all the other touchwiz are there but not the sexy weather one
If you are looking for a good alternative, Beautiful Widgets and Fancy Widgets are both available for a small fee on the Play store.
Word Weather Clock Widget or UCCW are good alternatives.
Thanks for all the suggestions

agreed Beautiful Widgets has something similar
These are some good suggestions for widgets, I've been looking for some good ones to use on CM10. :good:
Also check out HD Widgets it offers great customization options and is optimized for both phones and tablets.

As you can see in the screenshot, after modifying the DPI to something more realistic and not comedic, the UI adjusted perfect except it didn't center the all apps icon above the home button. I'm wondering how this could be fixed through maybe a mod or something.
I do not want a new launcher that doesn't have Google Search built in. Its not the same stock experience. Any idea what I should do?

Depends what you are trying to do. Are you trying to get more docked icons at the bottom, or the main grid on the launcher. Basically, what I did is I changed my DPI to 439 (wanted 445, but notifications get cut off in the pulldown bar). This is ideal for me and gives me an app drawer grid of 5x6. However, the launcher grid stayed the same, so I used the Launcher Tweaks settings in Gravity Box to customize the launcher grid to 5x5. Now, I still only have 4 apps in the dock tray on the bottom (plus the app drawer icon in the middle), but I do have a 5x5 grid on the homescreen. It looks like it came from the factory this way.
There's certainly enough screen real estate for at least one more row. And if they weren't spaced 25 miles apart there would be plenty of room for another column as well...
Use another, third party launcher besides the stock or Google Launcher and you can set as many rows or columns you need depending on their limits. Atom, Nova and several other launchers come to mind. I think MIUI lets you change it too.
Also just as an FYI, stick with the Q & A forum for questions as some people will remind you later om.

Are you talking about the home screen? If so, you can change the layout from 4x4 to 4x5 or 5x5

Thanks, but I'm talking about folders, like this:

I tried Nova when I first got the phone but some of the widgets looked really crappy compared to stock, so I went back to Touchwiz. I'm not sure which is the lesser of evils between the limited folders or crappy widgets! I haven't heard of Atom launcher. I'll check it out.
Thanks!
