hey i have Netarchy kernel on my stock 2.3.3
but now thing come to question.
is it needed to reflash my stock kernel back on?
or could i wait until Netarchy has a 2.3.4 kernel and than update to 2.3.4?
how did this go with the previews updates?
When 2.3.4 comes out, you'll have to manually flash it. It'll be fine, then when the 2.3.4 kernel is released just flash it over.

I've been wondering if I am supposed to just disable voodoo5 before update to official froyo release coming? Or should I be flashing just the stock kernel?
My instincts tell me to just disable, but I would appreciate some reassurance from some well seasoned devs/users.
Also can I make a nandroid backup with voodoo5 kernel just disabled?
Thank you all for your time and efforts

Just curious... I have revolution hd 3.1.0 with faux 0.1.2, but its randomly restarting for me. Is this because of the ROM? And if it is, and if I flash with cm7 rom do I have to remove faux kernel 0.1.2?

When you flash CM7 it should replace the faux kernel with the CM7 kernel. CM recommends sticking with their kernel for the CM7 rom as well.
Thanks, the cm7 thread is developing and someone just pointed it out.
Exciting day... I hope cm7 will kick butt..

I downloaded and flashed it the minute Kmobs announced it and provided the DL link.... and it's amazing!

I'm getting bad download speeds with cm7 alpha are you? I normally get 9mbps down on beast rom but with the cm7 alpha I'm only getting 2mbps

Which version of 0.1.2? If you opted for the higher clock speed version, your phone may just not be able to handle it.
If you flash CM7, it will replace the faux kernel with CM7's.
But if you flash CM7 I would recommend Faux's kernel for that as well. It's smokin' fast! I didn't have any shutdowns on the 1.78GHz, but I still went back down to the middle speed (1.67GHz iirc) just to prevent a lockup when the system is really stressed. Who knows, CM might have a better kernel than Faux after it's all said and done, but it's fun to play with as it all develops
This is my 1st time on this forum!! be gentle!
I have stock rom and trinity kernel, can i get OTA working?
you won't be able to install it regularly because you changed the kernel, but you can always flash a full 2.3.6 rom through cwm. i'm pretty sure you'll be put back on stock kernel though

I'm running the latest stock rooted firmware from Asus and have been trying to find a o/c able kernel that works well with the latest ics rom. Anyone know of one? Or how I can change the current kernel to allow to o/c?

please search before you post. this has been asked multiple times. Asus has not released the kernel source so there are no custom kernels
Can I flash the Infusion Kernel 1.8 onto Emancipation A: 1? For all intensive purposes I'm asking if the kernel can be flashed onto any rom.
I don't want to ask a stupid or noob question but, I haven't been able to find my answer anywhere. When I first started the rooting/flashing a rom process I was gonna go with Zeus Z-TR which I believe has voltage control built into it. After a bit of reading I settled on Emancipation but, I still wanna be able 2 OC/UV.
Also, I'm wondering about the beats audio that is built into the Z-TR rom. Is that because it comes with 1.8 kernel?
So, if someone can answer that question I would really appreciate it a lot.
I'd just flash the new synthesis kernel and as long as you're on gingerbread, you can flash another GB kernel you wish

I'm thinking Infusion is Froyo and Emancipation is GB. If those facts are correct, then NO, you can not

Thanks for the answers. After looking into it some more its safe to say I'm stuck without OC/UV since its GB.
If youre on gb, flash the synthesis kernel. Its oc/uv with working mhl on gb.

I'll not familiar with synthesis.....must be new within the last year.
There are several kennels named infusion. The one you (op) mentioned was Froyo.
But developer/member Zen has two GB kernels named Infusion that allow overclock...Zen's Infusion A and Zen's Infusion B. 1600 for A and 1400 for B
