Does any one have an idea when we can psychically buy a transformer in a store?
I have loose reports that Best Buy is getting a "full tablet assortment" in May. (By loose reports I mean hearsay from a Best Buy Mobile manager.) My best guess would be next week or the one after.

I actually got my Transformer yesterday from a physical store in CA -- Frys Electronics.
I got mine from a B&M Frys store yesterday too, but I don't think it's gonna help since as far as I know the stores that had them only have *ONE* each.
I was there at 8:20 and when I was at the counter getting the papers printed, someone else was asking for it.

Surprisingly I picked up mine today at the Tempe, AZ Fry's store. Just saw it online around noon and ordered it for an in-store pickup.
Then I was nervous for the next few hours I had to stay at work hoping it wasn't a mistake or they wouldn't accidentally give it to someone else. But I got to Fry's and held my breath at the counter and it felt like it took her forever to retrieve it, but she finally came back with it in hand.
I thought for sure I was screwed and might be waiting weeks for this thing to come in stock since I'm not the type of person to spam F5 on NewEgg at 3 oclock in the morning or get in a line at a retail store (like the Apple folks do). Think I just got really lucky this time I guess. It was the last one at the store.

I was excited.
I've been to bb today and the guy who couldn't tell me specific details buy he did say they are changing the desktop space for tablets and in may they will definitely have all tablets... I think it's true they are pushing the playbook hard so they probably have to give it a exclusive launch schedule till may... gonna be a hot summer!

I've been trying to get a date out of my two local Best Buy shops and the best I have been able to get is a single sales girl who said they got an email yesterday morning that said BBY would not receive them until mid May. That's these two stores at least.
I'm still going to bug the crap out of them though until I get one because without a date in their system it can still arrive tomorrow.

Maybe, but the Samsung screen is gorgeous and that's coming from an iPhone 4 user. I know the sensation has a qhd screen, but the super amoled plus is impressive.
I just want to get my hands on a sensation. Am soooo impatient!

That's what I am hoping too. Also I believe that if anything goes wrong with the handset you can just take it back to the store rather than sending it back?

I think with orange you have to send the handset back if you get it online. O2 told me that after the first 30 days I can go instore. Not sure about the other networks.

Well after several great months with the 4G, I have to move on. Thanks to all of you that helped. And I hope that I was able to help a few people along the way also. I am now the proud owner of a HTC Sensation, hope to see some of you in those forums!

Wal-Mart has been screwing up and selling them early, funny thing is I told them No upgrade, no contract, full retail... I still got it for $148.88... Pure luck, so far this phone is a lot of fun, will be even better once the bootloader is unlocked and a stable CM7 is made for it!

I believe it was an honest screw-up. At first the guy didn't want to sell it to me, but I convinced him.

I have read random reports of this happening at various Wal-Mart's around the country. I guess it depends on whether or not the rep is paying attention, or knows what they are doing.
I got an upgrade through retentions, unfortunately it had to be done through them so no $150 Walmart deal here. However it finally showed up in Tmo's systems today so I called a little while ago and ordered it through them. $250 with $50 MIR. This week is gonna drag ass while I wait for UPS...

Only real issues
The only issues I have found are incompatibility with some widgets, (Battery Life, Mobile Signal Widget) and programs like Mr. Number Caller ID... Otherwise, this is a great phone...

I got mine at Wal-Mart last Wednesday. They are selling it for $600 off-contract, but I printed out an article online that showed T-Mobile will be selling it for $549.99, and they matched it!
Seeing as how I just ordered 3 new batteries for 3.95 and an otterbox for 22.00 i think I'll probably be here for awhile

On the email TMO sent me, it said shipping method was overnight, today I check the UPS tracking number, it says its been shipped out via ground.

Ground shipping is usually pretty damn quick. A shipping label was created Monday night and it shipped this morning and UPS says it will be here day after tomorrow. I know its the day after release but I am still pretty pleased.

I am in the same dilemma. Extended 3500ma batteries and covers for P900/999 are available on eBay for around 11-15, so I am going to go that way I guess.
Hard to believe the regular covers are so scarce.

I finally recieved the email from the company that had them on backorder. Not only have they clarified that these are only for wholesale customers, but the price went up to $30. from about $12.
I've got two now, so don't need one anymore. Just a heads up.

Really? Normally you get it early if you get it shipped to your home. Stores are generally prohibited from giving you the phone before the release.
EDIT:Yeah, store pickup is the 6th.

Just got done placing the order in store (white model). I was worried they wouldn't honor the free upgrade fee that I usually get from the website (they did honor it). I did however find out that my $15 (200MB) data plan was no longer available and I would have to go up to the $20 (300MB) plan. Even then they were pressuring me hard to go with the bigger data plan. Told the guy to look at my current usage on the account...which was 20MB so far. Didn't seem to matter to him. Told me he uses 200MB before making it to work in the morning. This is why I like doing everything online. Still, $212 after tax and everything feels about right for this phone. Used it for the first time in the store and loved it!
The manager told me that as soon as the phone arrives at the store he will give me a call and I can get it that day which should be Friday the 4th at the very latest, but expects it much earlier than that.

I got black. While the white looks sexy (my friend has the international version), I prefer the black.
I was debating whether to wait t see what sammy has to offer on the third, however:
1) my HTC Aria is really starting to show its age
2) while the phone may be announced on the third, they may not even mention when it will be coming to the US; and I'm not about to wait around for six months unsure if it will even come to AT&T.
3) there is no guarantee that the SIII will be available at the steal of a price that the One X will is
4) If by chance that all of these factors fall in favor of the SIII, one can always return the One X, fight the re-stocking fee and pick up the SIII
P.S. I just ordered these two items from Amazon. This phone needs to be protected incredibly well because when I ride my motorcycle, the phone goes in the jacket pocket with all of my other belongings...

Did anyone order a case and/or a screen protector in advance? I'd like to know what the options are! I personally am a favor of TPU. Keeps the bulk down, yet does the job.

Im not much in to preordering but I plan on getting this phone, I went to my local store a couple hours ago and they dont have any on display, hell they barely even knew what I was talking about lol which is weird since they did announce it being preordered.

Was told the same thing, minus others asking about it when I went to check.
I called my local Best Buy. The lady stated that her computer said it will be in stock on 22nd - 23rd of July. So hopefully only another week!

That fondue pot's looking pretty good XD. I didn't see it this morning, it's there now. I ordered over the phone and the expected delivery date is the 19th-24th.
EDIT: Anyone notice that the dock is $160 at Best Buy?
EDIT2: A side note...they offered a warranty of some sort (I didn't really listen, I just wanted to get the thing ordered already), some Geek Squad warranty against physical damage like drops and breaks, it even covered water damage. Anyone think that would be worth it? I don't think I'll be taking my tablet to the shower with me anytime soon, but it might be helpful if it's actually a good service and I do happen to break it.
