How do we do the master reset when the phone is turned off with the volume and power key to make it go to the selection screen?
I want to be able to wipe it 100% so all the apps are gone.
I think i'm doing it but when I run through the setup my apps that i installed are STILL there, so i don't think it's doing a full wipe...

I installed the clear status bar with metamorph after rooting my epic 4g and it worked and all. Well i decided to switch to the the black one. Well after metamorph rebooted my phone...it went to the samsung mobile startup, the the 4g startup, then the galaxy s. The galaxy s startup took longer than usual and when it was done all i had was a blank screen with my home button, menu button, back button and search button lit up. Also the charing LED notification was stay lit up. Can someone pleasseeeeeee help me out. I can't access anything in my phone...

Looks like you are gonna have to come back to stock. Look at the Fix Brick Thread.

Reboot
Restore with titanium

okay so i did the cache reset and im still getting the blnk screen with the red LED and lit menu buttons.

yeah if i knew how with this black screen...im following the "odin" program now from the brick fix thread, we'll see if this works.
didn't work. anyone suggestions or is there a way i can do a factory reset with a blank screen? i tried the volume, camera and power button then factory reset and when it reboots...same problem.
Anyone figure out how to Hard-Reset or Soft-Reset the phone?
the old DangerOS Sidekicks use a 3-key combo for a soft-reset and a pin-hole+power button combo for a hard reset (especially helpful on older phones without a removable battery)
Only way I can figure out how to un-stick a phone that has frozen up is to physically remove the battery.

I can no longer turn off my phone using the power button because the power off menu doesn't come up when I hold down the power button. This is after the update to 2.10.401.4. Is there any solutions to this?

Factory reset helps for a while. Somebody suspects facebook. Me too.

Does anyone know how to perform a HARD reset on Samsung Galaxy S 2 Skyrocket? I know how to do a soft reset, but need assistance with HARD reset.
I also know that it will probably require the pressing of volume up/down and power, etc. but just do not know the combination.
Any help will be appreciated.
Power off phone. Pull battery (not necessary but wth)
Put battery in
hold volume up and down at same time while pressing power button.
When phone vibrates release power button.
There should be an option in the recovery menu.
My understanding of a soft reset is simply power cycling the phone.
You can also hard reset in the phones menu
Menu.settings.privacy.factory reset

I need an app that can turn on the screen with a shake. To prevent pressing the power button every time. I tested this app but it interferes with my data connection, when i turn on screen with shake my data does not work , every time after turning on the screen i have to restart data.

I've been searching for something similar for the past few days, and this is what i found that might help you:
Shake - Screen Off -> app that turns screen off on shake
Awesome On Off - Smart Screen -> turns the screen on when tilting up the phone (the downside is that it seems to drain a lot a battery power)
Wake All -> You can use any physical button to turn on device (volume keys for me)
These should be easy to find in the Play Store. Hope it helps.
