Am I missing something or does this phone not have a recovery on the straight stock from T-Mobile version? I know you can overwright clockwork but is there no stock recovery at all? Ive only had this phone less than a day so sorry if I missed something.

My little brother has a Cincinnati Bell Blaze or Commtiva Blaze or any other of the 10 names this phone has... He flashed CM6.1 to the phone and now the phone is barely functional and shuts down 10-20 times a day at random. He has ClockworkMod Recovery on it which I'm very famailiar with as I use it on my Vibrant. He didn't make a backup of the original firmware first but I've located the original OS which is an img.tar.gz file. Is there a way to convert this to a clockwork recovery zip? And if not what would I use to flash this original Rom to the phone?

I got a Nexus S I9023 GRI54 with ClockWork Recovery flashed accidently (I just want a temporary CR).
Where can I find the stock recovery?
Coz I just want to root for Ad Block...
I don't want to make my whole phone to stock and that would take a long time to reinstall everything.
I want OTA as well that's why I just want to flash the stock recovery.
I've read through the forum but there are only stock roms, no stand alone stock recovery.
Can anyone point me some directions?
i can get into recovery mode on my phone but im not rooted and on stock 2.2
can i do anything with this since i have access to it? or can every one access it??

That's just the stock recovery, not much you can do from it and yes everyone can access it unless they are rooted and have a custom recovery.
I thought from there you could flash cwm or a rom? Read somewhere you would have to rename the file as update for it to work.
@blue300 i think that only works with official roms like stock samsung i believe i tried that with my epic and it would not boot but when i did it via stock it booted up fine...
Hi guys still a neewbi here I have a Motorola Photon Q 4g lte it has boot loader unlock and rooted Im trying to do a update to software 77.8.14 xt897 it keeps failing ........I dont have any custom roms install .......I also seem that I cant boot back to recovery mod ....help.thanks
Did you have a custom recovery installed...? Or were you stock completely?
You said you had the bootloader unlocked and it rooted, so I'm going to assume you were on CWM or TWRP... so did you put stock recovery back on before updating? You can't take system updates if you're on custom recovery.. you have to put the stock recovery back on, then update, then re-do recovery & root.

Well, here's a good guide from the last update. Probably still applies for this update.

Hi all im new to this and i am trying to back up my current stock ROM incase i ever want to go back to it. and so im in clockwork mod recovery trying to flash the newest one available and i selected my device then i selected flash recovery, then it downloaded then it started flashing and is now stuck at 100% not sure what to do. it's not frozen, just stuck at 100% flashing.what should i do?
Any help would be appreciated!
