I've been looking around for a good, fast, MIUI theme that doesn't leave anything out and looks nearly exactly like MIUI. I've decided that since there isn't one I'd give up searching, and make one myself. Then I encountered this problem. UOT for some damn reason doesn't like working with me and now I'm left to do this from the basics.
If someone would tell me how to use UOT because every time I've tried I get a Status 0 error, I've tried every way possible of fixing it.
I'm hoping if I get the UOT to work I will release a CM7 Theme and zip file, also with a list of apps I use to make my phone look like MIUI but maintain optimal speed.
I'll start with a list of apps I use to make my heroc look like it has MIUI.
MIUI Weather or GO Weather
MIUI Camera
MIUI Music
GO Contacts/Dailer
GO SMS Pro
GO Launcher EX (Although I like theming Launcher Pro Plus more than this because it is faster)
My desired end result is something like this....

It should be achievable via a themed Framework.apk, MMS.apk, Dailers.apk, Contacts.apk, Keyboard, and some lockscreen/homescreen themes. For homescreen I think the most true to MIUI Look is GO Launcher, and for Lockscreen it could be anything, but I believe Widget Locker is the best bet as it has extensive theme support. UOT Would be good for editing the Pulldown Bar and some other aspects including boot animation, transitions, Status Bar, Battery, and possibly more.
very good theme, congratulation!
Do you mean when flashing in recovery you get a status 0 error? If so that's usually because the mount command in your update/updater script is wrong. Also, have you tried the theme chooser theme miui apk that jasonevil made? It looks pretty nice.

I just wish the battery meter was more like the ones as seen in the OP. Or if it was black, also seen in the OP (or like the MinimalBread theme that's sadly HDPI only... gah).

Ahah it's not my theme, that’s my goal If you want to congratulate those who created MIUI, thatd be correct, because it’s their theme (ROM)

Yeah, In recovery I get status 0. I have tried imputting my own Frameworks into the theme kitchen, Going about it via theme chooser with UOT, imputting my own files like instructed into the .zip from UOT like instructed if I get status 0, but still no dice, maybe I'm really stupid and dont see something im doing wrong here or what?
Also Im not sure if I've tried his MIUI Theme, I've tried one called Orion or something along those lines. Im not really looking for custom Icons nearly as much as a custom pulldown bar and MIUI's Battery. I like the GO Apps, but it'd be amazing If I were able to correctly get MIUIs Dailer, Web, and MMS Apps themed into stock ones, because GO Apps are somewhat laggy for me sometimes.

orion already uses all the MIUI images for the most part minus the status bar and custom battery...from a design sense, it didn't make sense to have a semi transparent black bar with white pull down lol, that's my opinion
i'm in the process of theming all the apps to match as close as possible....

Yeah I found out about this project http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858935 yesterday and saw all the MIUI Apks have been ported to MDPI which is great. If an MIUI rom actually comes out that'd be more than my brain can handle.
Also, as for the MIUI MDPI Apps, would I be able to install them? should I just replace the stock apps via root explorer?

i know the music apk will install, you have to push it to /system/app or make a flashable, but the 9 png's are screwed up in them....i've been having to use the hdpi 9's as reference and recreating them in PS using the mdpi stock 9's...hence why it is taking awhile.
but then again, i took some artistic license with some to make it more unique and not a straight image port of MIUI

Like I said you need to use a zip that works, status 0 means either the mount command you used is wrong, or it's for another device and busybox isn't translating it correctly. Just make a new zip using the same folders, only use the mount script (either amend or edify) from a known good zip you have already. If you're just trying to flash frameworkres.apk and SystemUI.apk you can push them with adb - no flashing needed.

I want to make it flashable so I can make it available to all of you guys here on XDA. Maybe I can just get the framework and system UI out of the UOTs zip and post em here, hopefully someone will teach me then how to create flashable zips (im guessing its fairly easy), or they can do it for me
Also I'm on CWM3 so I'm using Edify and I know that for a fact.

And now, v.2.1 for SkyRaider!
First of all thanks to the Unrevoked Team for everything they have contributed to the Incredible, as well as many other Android Decices, development community. Thanks to Koush and the CyanogenMod team for their awesome work and roms. Thanks to CVPCS for their Crystal Clear roms and contributions. Thanks to ihtfp69 for his SkyRaider rom. Thanks to invisiblek for the Droid 2 keyboard port (theme includes themed Droid 2 Multi-Touch Keyboard Port) and any other Developers I have forgotten to or should have mentioned.
Warning: Flash at your own risk... If this bricks or damages your phone in any way, I am not responsible.
Installation
Always Nandroid Backup First!!!
Simply flash the corresponding update.zip file from sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery over your current CM6 or Ruby rom. Reboot phone and allow to load up. For CM, go into ADW Settings/Drawer Settings/ and change Drawer Background Color to: #77FFFFFF. Enjoy...
Keep in mind this is a pre version 1 of the theme and still have quite a bit of work to do on the theme. The SkyRaider version is only a quick port and not quite up to par with the other versions. Any comments would be appreciated as well as suggestions as long as they are constructive. Thank you.

Once I am satisfied with the theme, I will release v1 for CM, Ruby, SkyRaider, Stock Sense Froyo Release, and possibly others. But while I'm progressing I will only have pre-version 1 for CM and Ruby.
dunno what happened but i tried applying this to the CM rom and was thrown into a boot loop, weird..
oh and id still like that font used in the 3G icon por favor

quick question..is the font in a flashable zip?
Theme is coming along great, just curious if you have themed the market and/or dialer or if that will be in the future?

I've themed the Dialer, I will post a screen shot. As far as the market, I've only themed some notifications so far but will be doing so more.
Sounds good and looking forward to what you have in store. As you progress will updates be able to just replace the existing theme and will this be something added to ROM manager or just have to download and update in recovery? I am def thinking about switching to possibly Ruby to use this from skyraider only issue is Ruby seems to do a lot of rebooting at least according to the thread even though I know it's not across the board.

As for the pre version 1 updates, they will only be on this forum. Once I'm ready to release v1 across the board, I will get with Koush and see if he wants to add them to Rom Manager. The updates I will post, you will be able to just apply over current/previous version themes using recovery.
As far as using Ruby, try using an alternate kernel. I know I've had issues with waking up the phone with stock kernel, but had better luck using Adrynalyne's alternate CM/Ruby kernel as well as KingxKernel's AOSP OC kernel. So give that a try, if not then just try to stick it out until I release v1 for SkyRaider. Just make sure to Nandroid and if you have issues, just flash back to your SkyRaider Nandroid. Let me know if you have any other questions. By the way, are you running SkyRaider Sense or Vanilla?

I might just stick it out since I have no issues with Skyraider and having the 3G hotspot and being able to have portions of sense are nice. I am using Vanilla with the theme from TouchPro Gray sky v0.3 as it has a lot of things themed. If you need/want a tester for when the time comes for skyraider def let me know and I appreciate you getting back and answering my ?'s.
please make it for sense ?????
After figuring out which rom-kernal combo works best for me, I finally find a theme that I really like. I have gone from colorful but busy looking themes to simple black and white. Thank you and congrats for such fine work. BTW, funny how a white notification bar can look less busy/crowded looking even though you have everything going on using full icons.
I am using Ruby 1.1.1 and King's ASOP Kernal. I am coming from Ruby 1.1.1, King's ASOP. I have two issues that are new since flashing this theme. (Forgive me if this is in the wrong thread) I did a complete wipe of EVERYTHING and clean installed Ruby and Gapps prior to flashing....in the right order:
1) Ruby users, as of now, cannot have the transparent drawer. Is that correct?
2) The keyboard force closes. There seems to be two different keyboards. The FC's happens when the keyboard has the voice input button-all apps that use that keyboard. When using Gmail, the keyboard doesn't have voice input. When long pressing on a text window to display input method(s), two "Android Keyboard" choices appear. This is the first time I have had keyboard issues so pardon me if I am missing something or sound like a noob, etc
Lastly a real noob question. What is that flip clock widget called? I haven't used a Sense rom in so long, I don't know where to start looking for the one you are using in the screen shots.

To answer your first question, I don't know if the Laucher2 apk is compatible with transparent app drawer. I've only themed ADW launcher on CM but haven't themed Launcher2 in Ruby.
As far as the keyboards, I didn't test both keyboards until now. The themed multi-touch keyboard works perfectly with voice input as well. The Android/Google keyboard does force close when typing, but voice input does work properly for me. I will look into it. I might have to make a separate optional update for the themed keyboard that will remove the other keyboard. Thanks for letting me know.
Lastly, the actual HTC clock widget will not work in a non Sense rom. The app I am using in my screen shots is Beautiful Widgets, which you can purchase from Android Market.
@motempo Thx! Ah, Beautiful Widgets...I keep forgetting about BW. Anyway, thanks again. Look forward to using your theme and following this thread. Screen shot of keyboard FC. I have determined the FC is not caused by any letter combo or multi touch(ing). No worries as I just close window and repeat what I was typing, from the first letter of the word, however. Voice input works as you said. Again, the Gmail keyboard works as it should.

I was able to reproduce that exact FC. Try using the multi-touch keyboard. Hold your finger down inside a textbox and select multi-touch keyboard. Haven't had any FC's with that one. If you don't like the multi-touch let me know and I'll whip up a quick update to fix your android keyboard and remove multi-touch.

Updated now with SkyRaider Beta Version, as per your request.
I like multi touch......you might have to hold my hand a little on this one....
I see the multi touch settings in settings>language &keyboard>muliti-touch keyboard so I assume it is installed. When I long press on a text field, I only have "Android Keyboard" as the choices...it shows two different choices, both labeled the same. I have clicked on both but it doesn't change the keyboard. I don't mind re-installing, etc. The only thing I have changed since flashing is that I use Launcher Pro. With Launcher Pro uninstalled and with ADW, I still have the keyboard in question and can't get muli touch to appear
Edit: to be clear, I'd rather use multi touch but an Android Keyboard fix is no problem. Most important is knowing what I did wrong
A few social apps themed in this version and is in Fission ROM Manager for Droid X and Droid 2. Don't for get to check out new live wallpapers and all new UI sounds and bootanimation is included agian and removes itself if you switch to a new theme or ROM. I am not RESPONSIBLE if your phone malfunctions or is corrupted in any way shape or form. This is also ONLY for Droid X and Droid 2 at the moment but I hope to make my way to other phones Fission supports as well....
Instructions have changed... You no longer need to mount or unmout system when in recovery. I have edited the install script to make it faster and easier to apply this theme over Fission as well as it being available on Fission ROM Manager and the Lite version as well... New instructions are as follows:
**After downloading the theme file place on root of your sdcard
**Reboot into clockwork recovery using Rom Manager or Bootstrap
** select: install zip from sdcard> choose zip from sdcard> Galaxy_S_Theme_x.x.zip
**Select "Yes - Install Galaxy_S_Theme_x.x.zip
**Navigate back to main menu and select "reboot system now"
There you go, that wasn't so bad. This theme is now up on Fission ROM Manager and Fission ROM Manager Lite, this will make it a lot easier by making it pretty much one click theme update...
Follow me on Twitter and tweet if you tried my theme, thank guys!
@StuntinX
Future add-ons for next update:
**I want to hear your thoughts on what
you would like to see in this theme and
and I will take it under consideration
ONLY for DROID X and DROID 2. Will be ported to as many phones says people want just let me know. Also don't be afraid to voice your opinion, I would like to here what you think and might want changed.Themed Facebook and Twitter applications have be added as a update.zip and you may just flash it as normal.

It's called "Signal Strength Widget" and you can download for free in the market. I use it cause when I use go launcher I hide the status bar, just for looks. Idk I like it. I also hope to clean up the install script so I can shorten the number of steps.
Thanks @kdkinc I put quite a bit of time into it and I hope to get it cleaned up a bit.

@tttuning the power control in the notification drop down has had a lot of people work on it that are way better than me and still have not accomplished this, so sorry it won't be on this theme unless it is ported by someone else. I think I will have that up in the next version. Thanks for the suggestions, keep 'em coming.

Whats different between this and the Gala S version that Joe has been doing? Only differences I noticed was the % in batt, the date was left black, and unthemed apps?
im on stock 2.2.1 w/ root.
is there a way to add the reboot/silent options to my phone like in the above screen shots?
ive always wondered how to add reboot/reboot into recovery/silent and so to the power button menu.
There were quite a few differences but it is hard for me to recall them right now because I only had a brief moment to play around on his but this what I know for sure. This is only my first release and I already have a huge update coming with over 400 images altered, themed apps, TouchWiz launcher as option, Galaxy S boot ainmation (already in the link above) progress bars to match, themes icons, Gingerbread keyboard as option, clean up lock screen puzzle .pngs, and more I'm probably forgetting.
I am not claiming that my is better but if not with my first release then for sure with my second that my theme has more packed I to it.

love the boot animation so far coming from lucid to urs for a break lol
Boot Animation
What is the easiest way to get rid of the boot animation? I switched to this theme to try it out, but the Galaxy S tagging is a bit much on my Droid X. I flashed back to Gingerbread them, but the animation stayed. I also flashed the Droid X animation from Fission Rom Manager, but your animation is still there. I also tried SBF, but the animation remains.
any way to push the lockscreen without using the whole rom? if so does anyone know the adb commands?
I took this rom off having messaging problems sending and receiving. Other than that great rom just wished the dialer want that ugly green with all that blue in it, went back to stock fission 2.4.2 til lucid gets his up, love the lock screen tho

I'm not running away just waiting, ya, I rebooted. I like the call connection and graphics in lucid just not the battery too plain on his. I just kept having texts not send I just went back to vanilla fission til the developers get a chance to tinker with 2.4.2 I would love to learn how to theme myself and out out my own theme for droid x under fission love the rom

I just installed it, looks great! One thing: I added a couple folders to my home screen and when I open them, they look really stretched, as if the resolution is all off. Also, the name of the folder shows up way too the left of the top bar of the opened folder.

I have used all of the ROM's available for the Atrix 2, here's my review on each
RebelROM
This was the first ROM I tried out so it's the bar, so to speak, for all A2 roms. First installed it when beta 2 was the current version...lovely ROM! I loved how fast and smooth it was, the minimal theming was perfect and it was very easy to install (CWM flash). I didn't care for the stock dialer and the MiFiles app UI was a nice change but it only supports pics/video/music, can't use it like a full fledged file explorer so it was a waste of space to me. It's an incredibly pared down ROM with smooth operation and subtle theming mods. I did encounter issues with Calendar sync (wouldn't sync) and the GPS didn't work either. Calendar sync was resolved by doing a factory reset..GPS was resolved by removing CWM on boot, which also removed the OC. Reflashing the rom after this (without wiping data) restored the OC and preserved GPS, although it was incredibly inaccurate....as in off by 2+ blocks. Also, turn by turn navigation didn't work....it would give me the directions but the actual turn by turn never kicked it, always said "finding gps". Was never able to work that out.
All in all, great ROM! Beta 3 added some nice theming and some more stuff under the hood but it too is incomplete. Was able to fix the major issue with Beta 3 by flashing one of JWM 28's 1% battery mods.
SCv5
This ROM I think is the fastest and smoothest of them all but my big issue with this one is some of the apps are carryovers from the Atrix 4g, like the text messaging and Blur setup one's. That being said, when I restored by apps and app data I lost out on all my text/sms messg's since the app used in this rom is not the same one used in RebelROM. This was a deal breaker as I despised the look and feel of the Atrix 4g software. If that wasn't enough, the settings menu interface also had the look of the Atrix 4g. I just could not get used to this new look and these apps. Speaking of apps, the Market app is the old one, and wouldn't update for me like it should. I ended up installing the new apk myself, minor inconvenience. And Google maps wasn't included. I did like the animations and UI aside from the portions of it described above, but it just wasn't for me.
AtrixBlaze
This one didn't last long on my phone. I first flashed v2, immediately got rid of it. The font was hard to read (too small, type of font didn't help either). The minimalistic text launcher icons weren't my cup of tea, the theme was over the top and the boot animation was low quality. No reboot option in the power menu. But everything else worked and in speed and smoothness there's no complaint. Ended up giving v3 a shot for the past 4 days or so, wanted to give this version a fair shake as the issues described above for the most part can be customized. This version the dev stepped up his game and came out with what looks like a complete graphical overhaul complete with beautiful ICS animations. The font was much better....but the theming was just way too much for my taste. The icons for the drop down toggles were kind of hard to see/figure out what they were for mainly due to their small size. The notification bar icons were cool, but some were just too small...like the usb one. Nice icons but due to the tiny size up there it just wasn't a good fit, IMO. And unless you stick with a neon blue theme, the bar will stick out like a sore thumb. It's got 2 dialers, one regular one modded like crazy and one in-call dialer....I much prefer the in-call dialer. On the regular dialer if you have big fingers like me you could be a little unsure if you pressed the right number since the whole button doesn't light up, the horizontal dividers and light up animations just didn't sit well with me either. The settings menu icons were nice but just added to the graphical overkill. No problems functionally with this ROM but the over the top theme is just too much.
VictoryROM
A minimalists' dream! Simple and to the point with some very classy mods that fit perfectly. Going into settings and clicking any subsection, the UI looks perfectly stock aside from the tastefully small, ICS blue boxes next to the optional selections...when selected, a tastefully small, ICS blue checkmark populates said box. Very nice! The dialer looks stock, and is for the most part...the mod he did to it doesn't jump out and slap you in the face, it's very subtle and clean looking. The in-call screen is similarly modded. My only qualms about this ROM is that it doesn't have the 1% battery mod nor a reboot option in the power menu...but the icons and text in said menu are clean and crisp. No OC, although that's a good thing as far as battery life is concerned. And the battery icon has no numerical charge indicator. Other than that, an absolutely perfect, classy, tastefully done ROM that works fully right out the box. The theming that has been done to it is not only minimal but complete and consistent throughout the ROM. I'm not sure if JWM 28's 1% battery mods will work on this ROM but i'm going to find out shortly Definitely some room for improvement under the hood, would love to see an optional OC version with the ICS animations and the 1% battery mod as well as reboot in the power menu but other than these small things this ROM absolute perfection!
Disclaimer:
The opinions stated above are those of mine and mine alone, are not intended to be rude, disrespectful or otherwise negative towards the developers of said ROM's. I appreciate the hard work they have put forth on these things and that they allow us to use their creations free of charge, I am simply giving my personal opinion of their ROM's since I have tried them all with the goal of providing an objective review for those who haven't.
Nice re-cap / review of our ROMs. I pretty much agree with your views. Only thing I would change is the note on install method for RebelRom. Its an install zip through bootstrap/CWM recovery. Not a "restore" file.
I'd like to see the options you mention in Victory ROM too. Especially the reboot in power menu option.

Really though, just wanted to spark some conversation, give a little insight to people who may be leaning one way or the other.
Good reviews, 916, thanks for putting that together..
This is not really a review, but kind of a tangent to the subject.. and I thought this would be a good place for it.
Ok. I've been mussing around with themes and whatnot, and I guess it turns out i'm like a rom scavenger or something..
I was running the Atrix Blaze rom for a while (great rom also), and actually i've tried all available roms/psuedo-roms and there were always a few things that I liked/disliked about each.. sooo, I researched a bit and learned a lot about what's where in terms of the system workings for the A2 (and androids in general), and started to change things myself..
That being said, I am currently on a modded version of VictoryROM (i performed a bunch of these mods to Atrix Blaze first, but decided to wipe data (3x) and go with the minimalistic V-rom and start over)...
I changed the fonts, dropdown items, status bar items, lockscreen, dockbar (hotseat), check/toggle buttons, etc.---> (For fun, see if you can spot where I got everything from! Big props and credit goes to those from which I borrowed!! ) I also tweaked out the build.prop and installed milestone overclock (still at stock 1000, but will probably go up to 1100), so I can fine tune the speed.
Not through tweaking and experimenting yet, but so far I'm calling it the altROM (not really - i'm not a rom baker, so it's kind of a joke..)

The SystemUI.apk has the quickpanel (dropdown) stuff, and the status bar icons, etc.
Not sure yet about all the settings menus yet, i'll get back to you on that. But i'm pretty sure that they are .9.png files, so it's best not to try and edit unless you are familiar with the process. You can usually just swap - copy over - the exixting .9.png files from different roms with no problem. I'll look into it more and let you know (if you don't figure it out yourself first)
Cool. I just used the icon changer in ROM Toolbox to swap the battery icon. Notice the reboot icon/script I have on my screenshot. That came from RTbox as well. Kinda cheating. But I have changed out some .apks (not really all the difucult either using RTbox.
I have a Linux box so my methods will be a little different than most here using Windows apps. Thanks.

What files did u change for the wifi color I've also been wanting to change my 4g icon
Sent from my MB865 using xda premium
Thanks for your review !
IMO, difference between these ROMs is themes, no more.
Speed, smooth ... are same; bugs, lag and something that locked by Moto are same of course!
Simple reason : all of them based on stock 2.3.5/2.3.6 of Moto for Edison.
Things that I hate on based stock Rom for Atrix 2, have not been fixed yet in all available "cook" Rom now :
- Lock screen
- Light sensor problem
- Lag touching when use virtual keyboard (tried many keyboard apps)
- Freeze when slide to answer (same as Milestone 3 yrs ago)
- Hidden functions/options in Setting menu
- True mobile Hotspot (no needed for sign-in AT&T account)
- Free-call apps compatibility like Viber, Skype, Yahoo Messenger (video call)
- Better camera quality (color, saturation, exposure...)
...
So, change will come if :
- Motorola releases new Rom for A2 (or at least fix all bugs that I listed above)
- Bootloader unlocked for flashing AOSP or any full/ported Android ROM.
Because it's AT&T version so I'm sure Moto still locks things that they think it should be or AT&T want special Rom for them like this way.
Hope and wait now !

There are nine or so .png files in SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-hdpi called stat_sys_wifi_signal_(something)
I think the 4g icons are also in there.. under zz_moto_stat_sys_data_(something)
You can just swap out those .png files with the ones you want. PM me or search if you want a detailed explanation as to how..
@vinamilk
That's one way to look at it. Anothèr is despite motorola/at&t's efforts to keep the phone locked down, development is underway. The community is working it out. Its a testament to how good this handset really is and the potential here. Is the glass half empty or half full? ;-) in the end, our accomplishments will be all the sweeter for having to go the extra mile.

KEB64, if Google gives you full ROM (AOSP), it's more easier for you to re-build, "cook" or tweak yourself. But Rom that based on stock which locked/deleted functions for special request from Carrier agent is hard to tweak more.
I appreciate the effort of all Devs here but we have to admit a lot of limitation when cooking Rom from locked stock Rom.
Understood.

For the most part, ICS/JB is a user interface change. Pleasant looking menus with a cool blue color. There are quite a few options out there to give your G2X the look/feel of ICS/JB but I had my eye on efficiency.
The Ice10 Theme and Holo apps are easy on the battery and use little additional CPU. Of course, if you increase cache sizes and use fancy transitions YMMV. But I'm quite happy with my ICS/JB themed phone.
1. Start with the latest CM7 Nightly. I don't know if this works with other ROMs, but it should. GB7.2 is recommended.
2. DO A NANDROID BACKUP
3. Install the ICE10 Theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2003484
. . This gives you some of the ICS/JB look/feel.
. . Put the Ice10.apk on your SD Card, click to install. Then start the Theme Chooser app, select Ice10 and click Apply.
. . If you get a theme error that you are missing assets for your screen size, just click Apply Anyway. Reboot phone.
4. Install Holo Launcher: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobint.hololauncher
. .Holo Launcher on XDA
. .Holo Launcher is a brilliant app that gives you the ICS app drawer, screens, and menus. The screenshots don't
. .do it justice, it looks even better than that!
5. Install Holo Locker: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobint.locker
. .Holo Locker on XDA
. .This gives you the ICS lock screen!
For the Ice10 Theme, the G2X resolution is already 240DPI so no changes are needed.
I paid for Holo Launcher Plus because the full ICS/JB experience is well worth the $1.99. It includes additional transitions and improvements. Holo Launcher is insanely customizable! The dock is scrollable and can have up to 10 icons. The Desktop and Drawer each have settings for the "scrolling cache", which is none, Low quality, Normal quality, and High quality. All this really means is the higher the quality, the more RAM it uses to make the transitions faster and smoother You can also change the desktop and app drawer grid size so you can fit a hell of a lot more apps on your screen.
For both Holo apps, I recommend going into the Settings and disabling Auto check for Updates and Auto Report. I don't like my apps checking for updates in the background, uses battery and CPU.
The Ice10 theme XDA thread contains wonderful info on final mods you can make to truly have the complete and total ICS/JB look/feel. Keep in mind that isn't a G2X thread so some of the mods, like the final Menu mods, are phone and ROM specific, so someone would have to make those additional mods specific for the G2X and specific ROM.
The below screenshots are for my CM7 Nightly ROM. Notice how Holo Launcher gives you a dramatic difference in the Settings. The Menu button is also different and the menu options are completely customizable.
Sorry for the lo-res Starship Enterprise wallpaper but it was a camera photo taken of the TV screen some days ago. Zooming in lost lots of resolution.
This is really a fantastic mod. I have all the user interface benefits of ICS/JB while having a totally operational phone with HW acceleration. I really don't need or don't care about using any other ROM at this point, although I'm waiting for Mazout's next kernel.
Thanks to EricTheLuminant for pointing me in this direction.
Remember to THANK ME if you appreciate this!
Thanks I'll probably try the theme later tonight.
Two quick questions: what does your notification center look like? And can you pull down the notification center from the lock screen?
That makes it really easy to check my texts if its in my shirt pocket.

Yes, you can pull down the notification bar from the lock screen. I just tested it on my phone, I didn't even know ICS could do that!
With the above mods notification bar looks like a cross between ICS and GB. It can be modded to look exactly like ICS/JB.
I see you are enterprising on the theme and guide I mentioned earlier! This is good, but you are missing some vital elements that can make CM7 even more ICS/JB like.
Using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363239, you'll find many more options. If you are experienced enough or willing to read instructions carefully, you can also use the ACpatcher software to custom mod several apps and the framework to increase the experience. It's very technical, and I don't have the willpower to walk through each and every step.
However, I have made some patches already based on the 2013-03-01 cm7 nightly. I'll see if I can upload them for you guys to give it a whirl. They add ics style notifications, transitions, and phone. See the screenshots attached.

I took a quick look. My focus is on stability and performance, and some of the mod apps mentioned in that thread have huge RAM usage, crash often, and/or have more negative than positive reviews, including the status bar apps.
The Holo Locker lock screen is much better than the GB lock screen. It's easier to use. The only thing I miss is being able to change from ring to vibrate to silent from the lock screen.
Holo Launcher makes the entire experience much more pleasant. It only uses 38MB of RAM.
The Ice10 theme from what I can see uses minimal RAM.
Oh of course. I'm not talking about the RAM using apps, nor do I use any of them...I'm talking about themeing and replacing the framework and phone app to better suit ICS/JB style. That status bar image is completely stock, as is the phone.
These don't affect battery, merely the look.
Download the patches I have made from my dropbox and put them on your sd card.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/d8g2bdll7i2jn3a/jv85IfKLeG
These patches were made based on the 2013-03-01 CM7.2 Nightly, and I do not know if they will work for older versions or other roms. They are made specifically to work with the Ice10 theme. It is important that these are flashed in the correct order.
1. In CM recovery, make a nandroid backup (although you can also flash the undo.zip files in case of failure. They will restore the original unmodified apps, and you should only need to flash the update-cwm-All-in-1 ICS v11-undo.zip)
2. Select mounts and storage
3. Select mount /system
4. First Flash update-cwm-All-in-1 ICS v11-patch.zip
5. Second Flash update-cwm-JBPhone-pach.zip
6. Last Flash update-Full.ICS.Fonts-with.Clock.Font.zip
7. Wipe cache and dalvik
8. Fix permissions
9. Reboot (will take a few more minutes than usual to rebuild the cache)
Afterwards, you should notice a few things. Your status bar, notifications, font, phone, etc. will be themed more properly to ICS/JB. Good luck!
thanks

Install Holo Launcher and you'll think your phone came from heaven.
.
Eric, you are going to have to tell us EXACTLY what your patches include. I don't install anything blind.
That would help wouldn't it?
Inside update-cwm-All-in-1 ICS v11-patch.zip:
You'll find theme modifications to the system apps bluetooth.apk, deskclock.apk, downloadprovider.apk, music.apk, phone.apk, systemUI.apk. These will further theme the system apps to the color and style of ICS/JB.
framework-res.apk is also modified to add ICS/JB transition animations, as well as ICS/JB themed notifications and status bar.
If you look at the images I posted earlier, you'll notice that the status bar notifications have that little square on the left, in the manner of ICS.
Inside update-cwm-JBPhone-patch.zip,
you'll find another phone.apk, framework-res.apk. This must be flashed after the first patch, as it will overwrite the the previous ones. This will give your phone app a more ICS/JB style look as well. See screenshots from earlier.
The last patch, update-Full.ICS.Fonts-with.Clock.Font.zip, merely adds the ICS roboto font across your device.
The undo-patches simply return the themed apps back to the original CM7 stock ones. Is it imperative that the theme patches are flashed correctly in the instructions mentioned previously if you wish to use them.
Will the patches work with Hellfire rom?
Wow. Very very cool, Eric.
What if I only want the settings mod?

Also, I don't know if these patches work with Hellfire. You could give it a go and let us know!
As you say sire.

Got it! IT WORKS!
However, the headings ("Wireless and Networks", "Interface", etc) aren't the nice cool blue color. How do I get that?
BTW, if anyone is having problems copying settings.apk into system/root using ES file Explorer, after you click "Mount File System (mount /system as writable)", you need to close ES, then restart.
It has to do with the parameters set by the Ice10 theme. This is probably out of our control, unless someone edits the theme file itself to change the codes and such. Way out of my ability, anyways.

It's just a theme change. You shouldn't lose anything. Why, is there some tweak needed to play that game?

BLACKED OUT SYSTEM APPS FOR OC7
Major Update. V 2.7 1/26/16
Hello everyone. I have found new love for this device after the OC7 update but I could not stand the overall white backgrounds and ugly touchwiz pastel colors. So I set to theming all the stock apps to be easier on the eyes and I thought I would share them with the community. I will upload a set of flashable zips and some screenshots. Just give me a few to get the thread setup. This is my first thread so be easy on me if things arent perfect but I feel confident in the work Ive done enough to share it with you all. This thread can also be used for learning how to theme our device. I have a wealth of knowledge on xml and smali file locations for most systems apps at the moment. If you want to start creating your own themes I would be glad to help you.
ATTENTION EVERYONE.... I have updated the theme to be more uniform and fixed quite a few little things since the first release. This time around I will be uploading an whole theme package instead of individual zips. I will still put some individual zips for download upon request. Hope you guys like it. There has been a ton of work into making this theme. Feel free to post bugs or color issues if you notice any I will keep updating as long as needed. Thanks for everyones patience while I got the bugs sorted out.

Nice! I Can't wait. One reason why I'm still using the s5 conversion rooted kitkat is bc of the ugly TouchWiz theme on Lollipop.

Thanks I've been going through and perfecting everything. It's going to be much more uniform than the present screenshots. I'll start uploading more individual flashable zips and a link to a complete theme on afh. Also I got permission to upload some of the other layers Ive ported so there will be a lot more apps themed. For eg. Flashfire, adaway, kernel audiator, nova and more. It will be ready soon!

Both. The max upload size on xda is too small for them entire theme so I will post a link to android file host. Thats why Ive been piecing it out in zips. Also If you want just a certain themed app you can grab just that.
Ive been debating on whether to use layers to save size or just release a whole rom. I think I will do both in time. This way the rom can have mods built in. For example having the advanced reboot built in, disabling the cover popups, DVFS and a bunch more. It wont be long Im refining everything in the theme at the moment.
Layer for flashfire
Layer for FlashFire.... Being updated please wait.
Update Coming Soon
Updated the Main Theme to V2. There are alot of theme fixes The in the system ui the dropdown outline now is around toggles and added a slight gradient to the background of pulldown menu. Also slight rounding to notifications
Thank you @Rick1684. This is, quite simply put, excellent work. I'll post a more detailed review when I get the chance, but suffice it to say I'm very happy. I just got the chance to flash the main theme v2, calc and music themes. I'm most pleased. I don't even use the stock music app anymore (I pulled the CM and use that lol) but it looks nice. And I love how all the system stuff is black now, looks great. Keep up the good work :good:
Edit: It makes the Google messages app conversations view black, but not the individual conversations. Again, not complaining, it's really cool

Thank you. Its probally due to the primaryTextColor in colors xml. Give me a few and ill see about fixing it. I dont use that app so I will have to make some changes
Hey @thisisapoorusernamechoice . Let me know what bugs you find. I have no problem making custom changes for our little group here. I looked into the messenger app. Are you talking about the black floating back on top of the actual back? I will have to make a custom version of messenger for you to fix this if so. I would make the floating back dark grey similar to the flashfire layer.
P.S. Im uploading a new version tonight with a few bug fixes. eg. highlighted text white on white fix, added gradient to popups, added outline to bottom popup menu, and more. Also going to start uploading all my custom tw apps soon. Ive got them to a point where Im comfortable sharing.
I will upload a lot of random things Ive themed here soon. eg. package installer, clipboard, documentsui, task manager, mms, and other misc things. I also have layers for a few third party apps that I use I will post them too. eg. adaway, es file explorer, google now, kernel auidtor, nova, layers manager, gmail, etc. Also I have been working on a ported SecSettings from the note. It gives more settings options and the ability to switch grid, list, and tab views on the fly. Its up and working and themed, Im just having an issue with force close on opening battery usage. I have to track down the lib file for the new apk. I might put it on android file host to if anyone wants to try it let me know. Most everything works if you can live with a few bugs until I get them sorted out.
Another project Im working on is creating a customsettings.apk that can change the main theme color. Basically everything thats blue in my theme will be able to be changed on the fly hopefully. Im still in the early stages of development and to be honest. So be patient please. I want to have it setup with a color picker so the theme can be changed to everyones taste. Along with other mods I found here on xda.
We can also use this thread to get everyones input on what they want in a rom. Im already working on integrating most of the mods you can do with the wanam xposed module. My goal is to use xposed for as little as possible. Try to bake in as much as possible. Please dont be shy if you have an idea, or can help with the development of this rom. Seeing as this is going to be our last update I say we take what we have and make the best of it.
Hi there, new to rooting and this kind of thing so maybe this isn't a bug and just be being dumb. I installed the v2 theme first and when I tried to install the rest of it on flashfire the menu went totally black and I can't see what I'm mounting for the rest of the parts, any ideas?
Edit: I see what I did wrong. I wasn't sure what a layer was but I've got it all figured out now, sorry for wasting your time, love the theme so far!
Edit 2: I can't see what I'm doing in the Layers Manager but I think I got it, still others might have an issue if they cant see like me.
Hopefully last edit: Not sure if it was intended or not but on the volume sliders the "Media" slider is still blue on the circle while the others are now white.

Hey Im sorry about the confusion. Whats happening with layers manager is that they pull their text color from the framework guessing that the main text color is black. But its set to white in the theme. I really wish they and alot of other app devs wouldnt rely on framework for colors they can easily add them in their app. Anyway this is fixed easily by installing a dark layer for layers manager. You can use any of them from the playstore or ill link mine to this post. As far as the volume slider thats still a work in progress. I have to track down whats turning it blue. There is an xml somewhere for the allow high volumes popup. It turns the slider blue and red. Ill try to get that in the next update. Try the 2.3 I just uploaded, I themed the volume slider background.

Hey I just realized that Im using messenger app from teamblackout not the stock one. So If you want google measenger themed you can get it from their thread. I will make a layer for it in time. I think thats the best way seeing as it gets updated alot. Thats one if the really nice things about layers.

No worries man, still a solid theme and everything seems to be in order. I found a fix via the playe store on an app that changes color of the system's fonts (Color Fonts #1) so it looks good on most apps (since like you said most app devs use the framework font instead of their own) and it fixes most issues with a white font on white background. Also the 2.3 update looks good so keep up the good work! Totally stoked to be customizing my phone now and am looking forward to the final version.
