And now, v.2.1 for SkyRaider!
First of all thanks to the Unrevoked Team for everything they have contributed to the Incredible, as well as many other Android Decices, development community. Thanks to Koush and the CyanogenMod team for their awesome work and roms. Thanks to CVPCS for their Crystal Clear roms and contributions. Thanks to ihtfp69 for his SkyRaider rom. Thanks to invisiblek for the Droid 2 keyboard port (theme includes themed Droid 2 Multi-Touch Keyboard Port) and any other Developers I have forgotten to or should have mentioned.
Warning: Flash at your own risk... If this bricks or damages your phone in any way, I am not responsible.
Installation
Always Nandroid Backup First!!!
Simply flash the corresponding update.zip file from sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery over your current CM6 or Ruby rom. Reboot phone and allow to load up. For CM, go into ADW Settings/Drawer Settings/ and change Drawer Background Color to: #77FFFFFF. Enjoy...
Keep in mind this is a pre version 1 of the theme and still have quite a bit of work to do on the theme. The SkyRaider version is only a quick port and not quite up to par with the other versions. Any comments would be appreciated as well as suggestions as long as they are constructive. Thank you.

+1 on that!
ALSO O.P.
can u supply a flashable zip with the font used for the 3G icon? that ****s killer!

Once I am satisfied with the theme, I will release v1 for CM, Ruby, SkyRaider, Stock Sense Froyo Release, and possibly others. But while I'm progressing I will only have pre-version 1 for CM and Ruby.

dunno what happened but i tried applying this to the CM rom and was thrown into a boot loop, weird..
oh and id still like that font used in the 3G icon por favor

As far as the boot loop, don't know why, it was flashing fine for me... will check the updater script.

UPDATE: v.2
Update! Theme versions for CM and Ruby. Links are up!

THANK YOU!
for the reply
for the font
and for the update!
quick question..is the font in a flashable zip?

Theme is coming along great, just curious if you have themed the market and/or dialer or if that will be in the future?

No i just zipped the TTF file and uploaded it. Just unzip and place in your sdk/tools folder and use command: adb push PRISTINA.TTF /system/fonts/DroidSans.ttf

I've themed the Dialer, I will post a screen shot. As far as the market, I've only themed some notifications so far but will be doing so more.

Sounds good and looking forward to what you have in store. As you progress will updates be able to just replace the existing theme and will this be something added to ROM manager or just have to download and update in recovery? I am def thinking about switching to possibly Ruby to use this from skyraider only issue is Ruby seems to do a lot of rebooting at least according to the thread even though I know it's not across the board.

As for the pre version 1 updates, they will only be on this forum. Once I'm ready to release v1 across the board, I will get with Koush and see if he wants to add them to Rom Manager. The updates I will post, you will be able to just apply over current/previous version themes using recovery.
As far as using Ruby, try using an alternate kernel. I know I've had issues with waking up the phone with stock kernel, but had better luck using Adrynalyne's alternate CM/Ruby kernel as well as KingxKernel's AOSP OC kernel. So give that a try, if not then just try to stick it out until I release v1 for SkyRaider. Just make sure to Nandroid and if you have issues, just flash back to your SkyRaider Nandroid. Let me know if you have any other questions. By the way, are you running SkyRaider Sense or Vanilla?

I might just stick it out since I have no issues with Skyraider and having the 3G hotspot and being able to have portions of sense are nice. I am using Vanilla with the theme from TouchPro Gray sky v0.3 as it has a lot of things themed. If you need/want a tester for when the time comes for skyraider def let me know and I appreciate you getting back and answering my ?'s.

please make it for sense ?????

After figuring out which rom-kernal combo works best for me, I finally find a theme that I really like. I have gone from colorful but busy looking themes to simple black and white. Thank you and congrats for such fine work. BTW, funny how a white notification bar can look less busy/crowded looking even though you have everything going on using full icons.
I am using Ruby 1.1.1 and King's ASOP Kernal. I am coming from Ruby 1.1.1, King's ASOP. I have two issues that are new since flashing this theme. (Forgive me if this is in the wrong thread) I did a complete wipe of EVERYTHING and clean installed Ruby and Gapps prior to flashing....in the right order:
1) Ruby users, as of now, cannot have the transparent drawer. Is that correct?
2) The keyboard force closes. There seems to be two different keyboards. The FC's happens when the keyboard has the voice input button-all apps that use that keyboard. When using Gmail, the keyboard doesn't have voice input. When long pressing on a text window to display input method(s), two "Android Keyboard" choices appear. This is the first time I have had keyboard issues so pardon me if I am missing something or sound like a noob, etc
Lastly a real noob question. What is that flip clock widget called? I haven't used a Sense rom in so long, I don't know where to start looking for the one you are using in the screen shots.

To answer your first question, I don't know if the Laucher2 apk is compatible with transparent app drawer. I've only themed ADW launcher on CM but haven't themed Launcher2 in Ruby.
As far as the keyboards, I didn't test both keyboards until now. The themed multi-touch keyboard works perfectly with voice input as well. The Android/Google keyboard does force close when typing, but voice input does work properly for me. I will look into it. I might have to make a separate optional update for the themed keyboard that will remove the other keyboard. Thanks for letting me know.
Lastly, the actual HTC clock widget will not work in a non Sense rom. The app I am using in my screen shots is Beautiful Widgets, which you can purchase from Android Market.

@motempo Thx! Ah, Beautiful Widgets...I keep forgetting about BW. Anyway, thanks again. Look forward to using your theme and following this thread. Screen shot of keyboard FC. I have determined the FC is not caused by any letter combo or multi touch(ing). No worries as I just close window and repeat what I was typing, from the first letter of the word, however. Voice input works as you said. Again, the Gmail keyboard works as it should.

I was able to reproduce that exact FC. Try using the multi-touch keyboard. Hold your finger down inside a textbox and select multi-touch keyboard. Haven't had any FC's with that one. If you don't like the multi-touch let me know and I'll whip up a quick update to fix your android keyboard and remove multi-touch.

Updated now with SkyRaider Beta Version, as per your request.

I like multi touch......you might have to hold my hand a little on this one....
I see the multi touch settings in settings>language &keyboard>muliti-touch keyboard so I assume it is installed. When I long press on a text field, I only have "Android Keyboard" as the choices...it shows two different choices, both labeled the same. I have clicked on both but it doesn't change the keyboard. I don't mind re-installing, etc. The only thing I have changed since flashing is that I use Launcher Pro. With Launcher Pro uninstalled and with ADW, I still have the keyboard in question and can't get muli touch to appear
Edit: to be clear, I'd rather use multi touch but an Android Keyboard fix is no problem. Most important is knowing what I did wrong

[ROM]Blue Echo 2.1.8 Updated (8/7) Fully Themed,OC/UV, JIT ENABLED SENSE

Well this Rom came into existence from a theme i built a few months ago. I was redoing the theme and talking to some of the Devs here and Found out with as many things I had done to the theme that it was a better idea to just covert it into a Rom.

This Rom is a combination of many other Roms, themes, and mods from this forum, other forums, and many different phones, as well as my own creations and edits to go with them.
This is an OverClocked and UnderVolted with darchstars kernal set at 710 with free memkiller vUV2 version of Fresh 2.3.3 Hero Rom that has been deodexed and fully themed out.
This is a fully functinal Rom but due to the heavy themeing that I did to it there is bound to be an issue or two. This is my everyday Rom right now and works great and is fast. Any help and feedback would be great. This rom is huge (142 mb) but some of that is the removed apps from fresh that goes onto your sd card and also the a2sd should move some of the apps to your sd card and if u move dalvik cache it should run really fast. I have almost 100 mb of internal memory with this rom.

How to Flash
This version is based off the newest .6 version of the sprint ruu. A full wipe is required to get it to work correctly. Wipe Factory and dalvik and if u get a boot look u will have to wipe external and maybe even repartition.
Also on first boot it may pause completely this is normal and to fix just remove battery and put back then restart phone.
Also on first boot it may restart after it loads up for the first time. This is normal and should start back up no problem.
Fixes to Problems
data might not work on first start up. Either turn off and on the mobile networking or turn off the airplane mode then back on.

Looks great but when I tried downloading the file it keeps downloading one that is 5.61kb big, I'm not sure what's wrong but I've tried twice now and it keeps giving me that small .zip. I will try a third time to see if it works.

Hey boss, stellar work once again ... I've actually been on a flashing frenzy for the last few days, trying literally 10 different roms, and yours is the only one that both is stable and has everything I'm looking for. For a beta, so far this thing is dynamite.
Which brings me to a question though ... I cannot seem to access ASOP contacts/phone. I checked all the defaults for People and Phone, and there were none to reset, and theres no separate app listed for Contacts. Do you know how I could access it? I much prefer it over the HTC dialer and contacts interface.
Thanks again for the great work!

I'm looking into issue as well. Its working for me but i haven't done a full wipe and flash but know once I do it will be gone. I'm not sure if its just because its from the leak build of sprint or if I'm missing something

BTW, this issue was indeed the same as contacts, using framework resources for various views. I was able to override the defaults pulled from framework-res, to force the background to black after loading has completed.

Yeah, did the full wipe. Based on what you said, I just nandroided back to DC 2.08.1 and flashed over it. Flawless, everything smooth, no FCs, and ASOP dialer/contacts were back.
In addition, I did notice with my full wipe attempt that the Sense launcher was missing as well (Nexus was the only one available). I don't use Sense for anything (ADW), so I didn't really care, but figured I should mention it.
BTW, figured I should mention that after half-day of use, I'm impressed. I've tried every rom to come out in the last month looking for one with everything I want, and there have been problems with each one. In this one, Facebook contacts sync (Buufed didn't), JIT works with newest DConfig (never got it working with DC 2.09.1), overclock is smooth as butter (had problems flashing the toast kernel over other roms), and wifi-tether doesn't freeze the phone on stopping (something chronically problematic of the aforementioned kernel). Don't know how you did it, but kudos on what is the most stable, most complete, and best looking rom IMO.
Wow!!! I like it alot!!!! ....and I thought mine was themed to hell, you have me beat hands down brother!

Thanks for helping make
this theme better
I am not RESPONSIBLE if your phone malfunctions or is corrupted in any way shape or form. This is also ONLY for Droid X and Droid 2 at the moment but I hope to make my way to other phones Fission supports as well....
Instructions have changed... You no longer need to mount or unmout system when in recovery. I have edited the install script to make it faster and easier to apply this theme over Fission as well as it being available on Fission ROM Manager and the Lite version as well... New instructions are as follows:
**After downloading the theme file place on root of your sdcard
**Reboot into clockwork recovery using Rom Manager or Bootstrap
** select: install zip from sdcard> choose zip from sdcard> Galaxy_S_Theme_x.x.zip
**Select "Yes - Install Galaxy_S_Theme_x.x.zip
**Navigate back to main menu and select "reboot system now"
There you go, that wasn't so bad. This theme is now up on Fission ROM Manager and Fission ROM Manager Lite, this will make it a lot easier by making it pretty much one click theme update...
Follow me on Twitter and tweet if you tried my theme, thank guys!
@StuntinX
Future add-ons for next update:
**I want to hear your thoughts on what
you would like to see in this theme and
and I will take it under consideration
ONLY for DROID X and DROID 2. Will be ported to as many phones says people want just let me know. Also don't be afraid to voice your opinion, I would like to here what you think and might want changed.Themed Facebook and Twitter applications have be added as a update.zip and you may just flash it as normal.

It's called "Signal Strength Widget" and you can download for free in the market. I use it cause when I use go launcher I hide the status bar, just for looks. Idk I like it. I also hope to clean up the install script so I can shorten the number of steps.
Thanks @kdkinc I put quite a bit of time into it and I hope to get it cleaned up a bit.

Just wanted to let you know, I've done this theme already. For every version of fission. The one of FRM isn't the one in this thread.
Can you get the power toggle in the drop down of status bar like the fascinate?
also date on status bar is black....hard to see

If you flashed the Galaxy S theme that was posted in the morning then no it wasn't my theme, I double checked, since then AngDroid put my theme up there, again I double checked this. If there is anything more I would appreciate it if these were PMs, thanks.
@tttuning the power control in the notification drop down has had a lot of people work on it that are way better than me and still have not accomplished this, so sorry it won't be on this theme unless it is ported by someone else. I think I will have that up in the next version. Thanks for the suggestions, keep 'em coming.

Whats different between this and the Gala S version that Joe has been doing? Only differences I noticed was the % in batt, the date was left black, and unthemed apps?
im on stock 2.2.1 w/ root.
is there a way to add the reboot/silent options to my phone like in the above screen shots?
ive always wondered how to add reboot/reboot into recovery/silent and so to the power button menu.
There were quite a few differences but it is hard for me to recall them right now because I only had a brief moment to play around on his but this what I know for sure. This is only my first release and I already have a huge update coming with over 400 images altered, themed apps, TouchWiz launcher as option, Galaxy S boot ainmation (already in the link above) progress bars to match, themes icons, Gingerbread keyboard as option, clean up lock screen puzzle .pngs, and more I'm probably forgetting.
I am not claiming that my is better but if not with my first release then for sure with my second that my theme has more packed I to it.

love the boot animation so far coming from lucid to urs for a break lol
Boot Animation
What is the easiest way to get rid of the boot animation? I switched to this theme to try it out, but the Galaxy S tagging is a bit much on my Droid X. I flashed back to Gingerbread them, but the animation stayed. I also flashed the Droid X animation from Fission Rom Manager, but your animation is still there. I also tried SBF, but the animation remains.
any way to push the lockscreen without using the whole rom? if so does anyone know the adb commands?
I took this rom off having messaging problems sending and receiving. Other than that great rom just wished the dialer want that ugly green with all that blue in it, went back to stock fission 2.4.2 til lucid gets his up, love the lock screen tho

I just installed it, looks great! One thing: I added a couple folders to my home screen and when I open them, they look really stretched, as if the resolution is all off. Also, the name of the folder shows up way too the left of the top bar of the opened folder.

[ROM] dReWs-Ginger_FauxICS v.Beta2 (HTC Hero CDMA) **Updated 11/06/2011**

Ever since my laptop crashed with Vista, which also happened to bork my recovery, I've been running Linux (Ubuntu 10.10) on it. Since I was now running Linux natively on my laptop, I decided to try to cook a ROM just to do it. With that said, I'd like to introduce to you my very first attempt at cooking with Android... Ginger_FauxICS (v.Alpha3.1).
This ROM was built using kushdeck's gingerbread-hero-deck 1.3 as a base. The only thing I added was a Juwell's RAM optimization script which I had modified ever so slightly, ACS's ICSLauncher, and Pins Music Mod. From the Ice Cream Sandwich system dump, I also added the ICS bootanimation, font, and some icons. I also swapped out some pngs in the framework-res.
For that all around ICS look, you can also flash DameonAndMeagan's ICS Ring Lock Mod which you can grab from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312431
This was originaly a ROM that I baked for a friend of mine since my Hero is no longer activated. When I flashed it on my friend's phone, everything worked and it seems to be running pretty snappy.
Please note that I am in no way a developer of any kind. I'm just a dood that likes to tinker with electronics. All I did was piece together different elements created by the hardworking devs of our awesome community. All the credit goes to them.
Some features:
ICS themed CM7.1 (Launcher, Fonts, Icons, etc.)
Ram Optimization
Deodexed
Apps2Ext
and more...
Also here's a video of an older version of this ROM in action:

Installation Instructions:
- Download ROM from here:
http://sirthumpalot.blogspot.com/2011/10/rom-overview-drews-gingerfauxics.html
- Place ROM on the root of your sdcard
- Put phone into recovery
- Navigate to "Backup and Restore" and backup your current setup first (Optional but I always backup just in case"
- Once fully backed up, wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache twice. I wipe twice just because I'm OCD like that.
- Go to "Format and Mount" and format boot, cache, data, and system. (If you're curently running and ext4 partition on your sdcard already, you may also want to format the sdext as well)
- From there, flash the ROM (gapps with vvm already baked into the ROM)
- You're done.
**User TIPS**
Per InsaneHien
- ROM can be flashed using Darchstar's Amon RA recovery if you resign the zip using PPCGeeks Android APK & Zip Signer program
- Enabling 16-bit transparency in advanced settings speeds up homescreen scrolling
**Known Issues**
Per gidkid - "When you tap the soft home button on the launcher while on the main homescreen, when you return from the helicoptor view, the soft buttons and the app drawer button are gone. They return with a quick reboot of the launcher, or after some time using other apps..."
Solution: Another solution other than restarting the launcher is also simply pressing the back button. That worked for me anyway.
Also per gidkid - "...while scrolling the app drawer, there are some hangups..."
Solution: I'm not sure how to fix this as of yet as it may be an issue caused by how the launcher app reacts to our phone's device limitations. I'll see if I can work something out.
If you dig this ROM and would like to donate to this project, please donate to the Devs listed above instead (Their donation links should be listed in their corresponding URLs). They work hard to enhance the user experience we get from our devices and for that we owe them a debt of gratitude.
If you wish, you can also feel free to donate to the OccupyWallStreet Movement (http://occupywallst.org). Just like many others in this country, I've been struggling to find work and have lost my house to foreclosure. I believe the political and economic foundation of our great country no longer works for the people as it was originally intended, thus, we must work towards changing the overall state of affairs. We must hold onto what makes this country great. Work towards, once again, having a government of the people, for the people, by the people. We are the 99%. Thanks for reading.

Maybe I meant 3.x or whateverz. Basically it needs to support the newer scripting as opposed to the ones we've grown to know and love back in the Amon RA recovery days. Miss those days, man!

Looks amazing. Always good to see something new around this forum. Thanks! I'll try it out and report back soon. If everything runs well, this could be a great ROM.
Just flashed this, and it was kinda slow until I enabled 16-bit transparency in the advanced settings. Now the scrolling speed on home screen is fast.
Also, this works with Amon's RA recovery. The ROM just needs to be signed so that it'll flash.

Thanks for the tip on the scrolling speed. I'll add it to the original post.
In regards to getting it to flash with Amon RA, did you have to change the script type for it to work?
So far, I'm liking this ROM. It looks nice, and while it was a bit of a shock going back to AOSP/CM after a while with Sense, it was worth it for the ICS looks.
It's not slow, not by a long shot. It's not perfectly smooth, either, and, especially while scrolling the app drawer, there are some hangups, with or without 16 bit scrolling enabled.
The one little bug I found was that when you tap the soft home button on the launcher while on the main homescreen, when you return from the helicoptor view, the soft buttons and the app drawer button are gone. They return with a quick reboot of the launcher, or after some time using other apps, but it's slightly inconvenient while they're gone.
Other than that, great ROM, great contribution. I'll be running this as my daily pending GPS and other tests.

I appreciate the detailed feedback. I believe you can simply press the back button when the soft buttons and app drawer disappear. I'm not sure what causes that unfortunately and I may not be able to look into it anytime soon cuz I have about two weeks to pack up my entire house to move. I'll see what i can do. I'm glad ya dig it. Cheers!

CREDITS:
First and foremost, a huge thanks to the guys at Samfirmware for making this possible!
This rom incorporates the work of many AndroidCentral and XDA users.
Huge thanks to the development community.
This is Open Source!
Want to make or edit your own personal rom?
Take a look at my personal kitchen!
Known Issues:- If your sdcard does not have a folder called "clockworkmod", you must create it prior to installation. It should exist if you've ever made a Nandroid backup.
- 4G Toggle button exists in scroll-able toggle mod.
- 4G Toggle button is missing from the 9-lock mod, to enable 4g, have to go into Settings>Wireless and Network>4G Settings>4G (turn on 4g) or get a widget from the market
You've got questions, here's some answers!
Can't figure out how to make the battery percentage appear in 9-lock?
It's under Settings > Lockscreen Settings > Statusbar Settings
Want the battery icon, and not just the percentage?
Same deal as before, except you have to hide battery icon, and then un-hide it. Wait a moment.
I really miss my old transparent messaging app, can I have that back?
You can now! I've just released a few variations of transparent Gingerbread messaging!
How do I use my own ringtone, alarm, and notification mp3s?
Create a folder on your SD card called "media".
Inside of that create "audio".
Inside of that create:
"ringtones" for ringtones.
"alarms" for alarms.
"notifications" for notifications.
Ah, Swype.

Unfortunately, since the Froyo version that initially came on our phone, we've been employing the latest and greatest versions with better features. But all of them have still been betas, and apparently this particular one expired today. I do not know if, or how to modify it to avoid expiration. Nor do I currently know where to pickup the next available version. Instead, I recommend doing what I have just finished doing. Install the swype beta installer.
Here's how:
1. First, using a file explorer delete the following files:
- /system/app/Swype.apk
- /system/lib/libswypecorexxxxx.so [the x's stand in for the exact number]
2. Next, head here to download the installer.
3. The rest is pretty self explanatory.
You do have to sign up to be a tester if you're not already, I have been for some times. I assure you, it's a harmless process and won't flood your email account.
I wish I could make this easier, but for some time now, Swype has only been releasing beta versions and they will all expire at some point. If anyone has a newer working Swype I can use in the next version, I'll look into it.
As a bonus, if you follow my instructions, then your Swype personal dictionary will carry into the new Swype beta!
How Do I Use This ROM?
Regularly updated installation information available on the download page.
Random you mentioned in the other thread that Gtalk video works and it does but is that without being able to switch to front facing camera?
EDIT: I know I was supposed to thank you for this rom I assumed you knew I have been on EC05 Hawk. Also was I supposed to say "first"
Looks great RandomKing..
My time on the Epic 4g has passed but my wife still has hers and this is definitely a ROM I will be considering and trying out on her device since she's waiting for me to update her to GB and get off EC05...

I'm loving the ROM so far. I've already flashed a few others just to try out and Thunderhawk has been the winner for me so far. I do have a question though: is anyone else having any issues with wifi randomly turning off and on? I made sure that in the settings it is set to never turn off.

This... Not tryina nic-pic but that standard GB batter indicator just isn't cutting it.. I guess my question would be if there is a theme in the theme section of the forums that would work with this rom. I know we are waiting on the lockscreen mod from maddoggin but is there something I can use temporarily?
Also, Randomking, I saw in the other thread that you said it was the TH2.0 Rom that had the sexy black keyboard... How would I go about pulling the keyboard from 2.0 and installing it in 3.0.5? Yes... I'm a newb at all this stuff but thanks to you all, i'm learning quite quickly!

I'm not fully acquainted with framework-res modifying, so I generally wait until I find a suiting one and then modify it in-line with my own requirements. So... soon.
As far as the keyboard, open the .zip file, and under /System/App you'll find Swype.apk. Just drag it into the matching spot of the other .zip. I recommend using 7zip.

It has the AIO Hotspot, Volume, CRT, and Overscroll Glow features, but no Lockscreen mod yet.
When I can put in everything I require, I will remove the WIP tag from the title and fully modify the OP, until then, the screenshots are slightly inaccurate. Working on it. Version 3.1 will be the first full version.
been running this rom for a few hours now with no problem. My 3g speeds are faster on this rom for some reason (im on cricket not sprint). thanks for all your hard work.

Ok... So dont mess with the theming just yet... gotcha...
Now with the keyboard. I located the TH2.0 zip on my harddrive... Opened it, found the Swype.apk and moved it to my desktop...
Is there a way for me to copy the Swype apk to my SD card and push it in using ES File Explorer or will I have to actually drag and drop it into the TH3.0.5 Zip and then reflash?
**edit**
Just tried to push it using EX File Explorer and got mad force closes when I disabled Go KB and enabled Swype... Dragged and dropped Swype apk into the system/app folder of TH3.0.2 and i'm about to reflash... *crosses fingers*
**edit**
Still no go... Flashed using Clockwork and upon the first boot I got a Swype FC. I guess i'll stick with Go Keyboard for now...
I had to use root explorer es wouldnt work for some reason. just copy the file to root system/app
you might try going into settings, applications, manage, all, swype ... clear data.
So it isn't trying to use data saved by the other apk.
what is the best way way to flash this, I currently using ThunderHawk 2.3.4
thanks

I ended up using Root Explorer because when I tried to paste it in using ES, it would paste but Swype wouldn't show up in my list of keyboards.
Can you confirm that the keyboard from TH2.0 is the sexy black one? Is that the one you moved over?

you might try going into settings, applications, manage, all, swype ... clear data.
So it isn't trying to use data saved by the other apk.

I didn't even think of that, but I also dropped the Swype apk from the 2.0 rom into the system/apps folder of 3.0.5 and then just reflashed the rom and still got FC's as soon as the phone booted up.
I llooved this rom on EC05.
i can't wait for updates :]
i'm getting alright battery life so far. 75% 6h 12m. can't wait to see what you do with it :]

[ROM] StockMod [SENSE 2.1 | 2.3.4] [A2SD] [Custom Kernel Dodgekernel v1.6]

StockMod
Introducing StockMod. This is a super stable and great on battery life Gingerbread sense 2.1 ROM based of off Strapped365's Stock rooted OTA found here: It was born out of my desire to learn more about Android. As I continue to learn, I will update this.
I have two versions. One is a2sd and the other is not. Please do not flash the a2sd version unless you have a properly partitioned sd card. If you do not or don't know what I am referring too, please flash the ordinary ROM.
Disclaimer: Flash at your own risk!
*It is important to note that there may be additional issues I don't know about and as I am a truck driver, not a programmer I may or may not be able to fix things.
Everyone is encouraged to do what ever you like with anything I post.
ROM Features
Deodex
I have included some of my favorite free apps in this. If you find them useful please purchase the paid versions from the market to help support the developers. Its always nice to go to their threads and click "Thanks" too.
Native screen shot (Power+Home)
Several cool wall papers by Rosario34 in her thread here She and her friends have some amazing images to share. (I don't remember where I got the Angry Birds wall paper)
a2sdgui included in the a2sd version so there's no need for terminal.
Custom boot animation by thor6577 Check out his work here
Fonts and some changes made with permission from dropzeroc's Legendary ROM Thanks Drop!
Customized Metal, Slate, and Blackboard skins
This comes with Dodge's v1.6 kernel but it works very well with Straped365's and Drob311's kernels as well so feel free to change things up.
What works?
Everything including 4g
Problems?
The htc calculator widget is wonkey. Fixed!
I have noticed that the launcher (Rosie) tends to restart from time to time. I use Zeppelinrox--V6 Supercharger to make the launcher "Bulletproof" and that works great.
Change log:
9/22/2013 Minor update for the A2SD version. Updated many apps and fixed a SuperSU binary issue.
4/13/2013 Updated NON a2sd version to match the new a2sd version.
4/12/2013 Updated the a2sd version. Will do the NON a2sd version when I get some more time. Changed the Play Store to 4.0.25. Thanks to thronnos for making it available. Changed from SuperUser to SuperSU. Added roam only option in Settings/Wireless & networks/Mobile networks. Changed the Battery icon to blue with percentage of power left. Changed the signal bars blue. (I'm undecided if I like that or not) Change the Gallery icon to the one in Energy. Fixed the calculator widget and replaced the calculator back to the original. Put the Wood skin back in.
3/9/2013 Added native screenshot with parts from newSENSE. Thanks Dread7us!
Changed the progress bars from green to blue using parts from the BlueSky skin in sense 3.5 ROMs
Added Notify Me app. It needs to be set up by the user to work. Its pretty cool and works well on my Shift.
Added a patch so folks can add the native screen shot without having to flash a whole ROM.
2/28/2013 updated NON-A2SD version to match the A2SD version.
Put the Sense 2.1 lockscreen back in the NON-A2SD version and added a flashable zip to OP so folks can have the original Sense 2.1 lockscreen if they want it in older versions or in the A2SD version. (I changed three icons in the lockscreen from green to blue to match the rest of the ROM)
2/26/2013 Added extra options for the restart app and changed some minor things in the UI for the A2SD version. I'll update the NON-A2SD version when I get some more time.
1/31/2013 Changed the NON-A2sd version appearance (Menus and popups) to match the A2SD version.
1/22/2013 Put together an alternate a2sd version that has been themed with various parts from Energy, CoreDroid , Blue Edition for stock ROM and the Blue Sky skin available in Legendary-Infamous. I changed popups, menus, icons and the bootanimation. I can't find where I got the animation from so if anyone finds the original dev for the animation, please let me know so I can give proper credit.
1/14/2013 Made a small update for the a2sd version. Removed the original Sense 4.0 clock. Updated AdFree and some other apps. Added Rings Ddigital Weather clock widget.
12/26/2012 Fixed SuperUser issue in NON-a2sd version and updated AdFree apk
Instructions:
Basically:
DL to pc and move to the root of sd card
Do a full wipe (3x)
Flash
Enjoy
Note: This ROM takes a while to load (up to 5 minutes) so be patient and let it settle. Thanks.
Note 2: The a2sd version is set up so that the apps are already on the SD partition at first boot. That's why it takes so long the first time. Please make sure you have a properly partitioned SD card before flashing this version or it will have problems.

Beat you by a few mins with RemICS lol. Looking forward to trying it out, I need to update my prl anyway.
Edit: My DL won't start for A2SD version, just hangs for awhile then fails.
I've found that (at least with dev host) if I try to dl to my shift it messes up for some reason. I dled it to my pc ok this morning.
It is working now, yay.
Edit: Failed 4 times on wifi, worked first time with 3G lol
I got stuck on the splash screen with a2sd version... More than likely a bad DL since I had to use 3G. Will try on WiFi again later... dang, I was excited
Great work . Will flash later on, if I get a chance. Thank you

OK, I downloaded the a2sd version 3 times and it didn't get past the splash screen on all three DLs. So I DLed the Non-A2SD version, great work. Just a few things that may need brought to your attention: 1. SuperUser needs looked at, when you go to update the binary the current version is blank and it will not allow updating because the prompt didn't come up. No root.
2. A2SD-GUI is in the non-A2SD version?? I didn't make it any further cuz I need root. Other than that great work. Maybe its just me or my phone doesn't like this ROM, but that was my experience... Hope it helps.
Crap. I'll get it fixed. I haven't had any of these issues. Sorry!!!

If I'm the only one out there, I can fix it on my phone... Just some things you might wanna look into. I just haven't had much free time lately.
I was just thinking, You said you didn't get past the splash screen right? One thing about this ROM has been that it takes a long time to boot up the first time. If you would be willing, please try installing it again and this time wait at least 5 minutes before pulling the battery. Or maybe can you get me a logcat? I took the a2sdgui out of the NON-a2sd version here at home and will upload it in a bit but thats the only change in that. Do you think more changes are needed in that one? I feel stupid for having forgotten to remove it from the system/app file before release.

Yeah I can, like I said look at SuperUser, maybe sub it out for a different version. Download the latest and use root browser to copy the apk onto your SD then put it in the ROM... everything else is great.
If you think your in a bootloop reset the phone. It works on my EVO. If it takes longer then 5 minutes I restart it and then it boots into the Rom in under a minute. Might work for the shift as well

Updated op with new NON-a2sd version. I'm posting the link while using StockMod now. Sorry for the problems with this version! I still haven't had problems with the a2sd version...
Edit: Let StockMod sit and get settled before signing in to your Google account. There will be a few apps to update in the Play Store the first time but everything works out of the box. (At least it does for me on my Shift)

See I told you you would be cranking them out once you got the hang of it. Keep em coming.
Ok so I finally got around to flashing a2sd version again and it works perfectly, great work. Guess I was just being impatient. I'm going to direct you to a thread you started for a Sense 4 clock widget with working weather lol: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1890176
Yea I do really like that clock and was using it on this for a while. The problem is that on the Slate skin, the bar on the weather is the wrong color. It should be the same grey as the dock. Plus the whole point of my doing this was to learn how things are put together and how folks have reinvented the wheel or clock in this case. I'm glad you got it working and again I am sorry for not testing the NONa2sd version more.
