[Q] How to disable scrolling friction in stock browser - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello.
I dislike the scrolling which slows down and stops much too early in the stock browser.
I wish I had the same scrolling behaviour as in my HTC Deside, i.e. with no friction.
Do you know how to change this ?
Thanks for your help.

I would like to know this as well. It makes web browsing frustrating.

This is a issue with all xooms best way to fix is overclock

[Q] How to speed up and smooth out scrolling in default browser?

The default browser works for most of my needs. Is there a way to control scrolling speed and to make it smoother when scrolling? I would think this phones hardware is more than capable. Scrolling looked better on my HD2 running andoid off the sd card. Any help would be great. Thanks.
Been using the stock browser, and I have been impressed with the smoothness and functionality. I don't see the shortcomings as you have described. I've toyed with loading up alternate browsers, but I find the default browser to be solid.

Mine looked good on the first phone, but it would not stay on (reboot of death). My second phone works great, but when scrolling it is slower and it appears choppy.
Anyone else notice any weirdness with the stock browser? Not really complaining, but just hoping to further improve.

[Q] Scrolling in chrome

Why the hell is scrolling in chrome sooooooo sloooooow???
Does anyone have any tips or tricks to improve this? I will settle for insight. My Tf101 had no problem with scrolling in chrome, so it's mind boggling that it is so bad on the tf700.
Also...I have tried it with both ICS and JB. No difference.
Well if your rooted then you can always try browser2 ram if not I suggest dolphin browser with the jet pack add on.
+1 browser2ram.
There is a difference between lag and slow scrolling though.
With lag sometimes the browser seems to freeze for a moment when attempting to scroll. Browser2ram fixes lag.
Slow scrolling, when a scroll up or down gesture moves a seemingly small amount of lines, is a difference between the stock browser and chrome. Browser2ram won't fix slow scrolling.
Also chrome does use GPU rendering I think

Exactly...it's the scrolling I am questioning. I just upgraded from a tf101 to the infinity, and really would prefer to use chrome...but the scrolling/swiping stinks.
When i scroll, sometimes the page doesn't start scrolling until my finger is almost off the device, as if it doesn't register my gesture immediately. Will browser2ram fix this?

If the tablet was busy writing something to the disk cache at that time, then yes. If it was due to some other reason, then no.

[Q] Chrome/FB scroll isn't smooth

Is this an issue or a feature? Since I started using the S6 I noticed that the scrolling down on big webpages feels stuck and laggy, it's not smooth as it was in the G2.
Have you noticed it too?
Facebook works kinda good for me...
But chrome work rly bad even after installing that support libary from the appstore
Anyway i have set up the default browser
And it works much much better then chrome
Alot faster and very easy/simple to use...
You should try it.
There's sometjing weird happening with the Java Script in Chrome I believe. IMO the stock Samsung Browser works way better.
changed to stock browser from chrome because of the lagg and poor loading times..stock s6 browser is way faster by a mile! and smooth as silk!!

google chrome slow and laggy

Is there any reason why my google chrome, after awhile, becomes really sluggish and laggy. Like sometimes when scrolling down, it just down right freezes there for a good minute before resuming control. Loading and changing pages causes really choppy and laggy performance. I have turned off the "merge tabs and apps" setting.
I know the simple solution would be to change browsers, but I do like this one. I would have assumed this browser is really good with the nexus 5 as they are both from google :/
Same here

Though it is a Chrome problem, you can fix it by using certain kernels. I am using Codeblue 938 and Sooplus latest for that matter.
It's so darn bloated. It stops scrolling on mine. I had enough. Took it out and put the new adaway /Firefox browser instead. Adaway is made by an xda Dev. It has a setting allowing fair advertising but gets rid of the intrusive. You can get rid of all advertising but I'm with adaway. Things have to be paid for in a reasonable way. Chrome is a mess and I'd advice you to junk it. It's still stuttering and sticking on 5.1.1
