Anyway to fix these by ediiting the prop build and anyway to adjust the red level in the screen.
These are killing me and driving me nuts!
browser lag is most likely Flash 10.1, install the latest flash or do what I did. Change flash to On-Demand in plugin settings for browser.
and I'm sure there is screen changing things you can do, but I don't do them so can't help ya.
It's not browser lag with flash its in scrolling text btw I have flash 10.2

I noticed the red tint today also when my friend was comparing my G2x to his Nexus S...
The page moves quicker if you just move your thumb top to bottom then if you try to fling the page that's what I'm talking about(
Just did browser tests on my galaxy s running team whiskey versus g2x and I am convinced that this browser is not using both cores of the processor

obviously since dual-core is not supported on the OS level, it's like having a dual-core processor on windows 95 machine
WHY are you using default browser??
Use xscope or miren browser! They work much better.
I'm not experiencing either of these issues. No red tint, and the stock browser is smooth as silk.

No.
I was just coming here to post about the browser lag. Noticeable lag, BTW.
I went into the T-Mobile store earlier today, factory reset the display G2X (I always do that now, since people like to say "phone prolly was runnign 20 apps from all the other people that played with it") and put Flash to On-Demand. Go to WMPowerUser.com (there are MANY others where this happens), open a blog post and scroll. It's choppy as ****. The Vibrant has the exact same issues (slightly worse). It happens on tons of sites, and I don't think Flash has anything to do with it.
I don't know what the issue is, but I'm about to start looking at the HTML coming to the browser (user agent spoofing on a desktop) to see if it is choking on on some specific elements.
I also noticed the data speeds were simply terrible, slower than my Vibrant (had both my Vibrant and HD7 on me).
Google needs to realize that the overall user experience matters more than how many milliseconds advantage your browser engine has over the competition...

Because there are applications/features that tie into the stock browser and using a third party browser just breaks the overall cohesiveness of the user experience.
I've never heard of XScope and didn't think Miren still existed, though, so thanks for that info.
Opera Mobile 11 is better than both of them, and supports Flash...
BOTH browsers are great. MIREN has an option to adjust brightness within the browser which I like to use at night. Xscope has a great developer and has nice features as well. Try both than pick one and un-install the other. Than when an app requires stock browser you will be prompt to select which browser you want to use as default, choose miren or xscope and its that easy!

The Samsung stock browser has independent browser controls, and does stuff like chrome to phone work with those third party browsers?
I already use opera as a secondary. The others are useless to me.
The constant pops to choose an app front every app with links is county. I like to avoid that situation.

Why the hell is scrolling in chrome sooooooo sloooooow???
Does anyone have any tips or tricks to improve this? I will settle for insight. My Tf101 had no problem with scrolling in chrome, so it's mind boggling that it is so bad on the tf700.
Also...I have tried it with both ICS and JB. No difference.
Well if your rooted then you can always try browser2 ram if not I suggest dolphin browser with the jet pack add on.
+1 browser2ram.
There is a difference between lag and slow scrolling though.
With lag sometimes the browser seems to freeze for a moment when attempting to scroll. Browser2ram fixes lag.
Slow scrolling, when a scroll up or down gesture moves a seemingly small amount of lines, is a difference between the stock browser and chrome. Browser2ram won't fix slow scrolling.
Also chrome does use GPU rendering I think

Exactly...it's the scrolling I am questioning. I just upgraded from a tf101 to the infinity, and really would prefer to use chrome...but the scrolling/swiping stinks.
When i scroll, sometimes the page doesn't start scrolling until my finger is almost off the device, as if it doesn't register my gesture immediately. Will browser2ram fix this?

As of Android 4 Google has changed the default Webrendering engine from the old AOSP one to the (bad) chromium engine. As a result my favorite Browser the stock AOSP isn't working properly anymore, here is a summery of the browsers I have tested and the problems I had with them:
Chrome: Slow, laggy and worst of all random font size changes within a website, no flash
AOSP Browser on 4.4: Double tap to zoom acting wierd, no textreflow, no browser history tab anymore, force closes, laggier then on Android 4.3 and no flash on 4.4
Dolphin Browser: Laggier compared to 4.3, pinch to zoom not working. No flash on 4.4.
Can you recommend any Browsers that work well with 4.4.

Have you all even tried Chrome? On my N5 there is no lag whatsoever, I am really impressed with the speed. At first I was so like "oh no" but gave it a try and I think Google did it right.
NEXT Browser kills the top of the page where the address bar lies over it, that is a no go.

I don't get why people dont just use chrome. I have been using it on many devices and I find it to consistently be the smoothest and fastest and best looking browser.
I'm satisfied with Chrome Beta.
I have to admit, I've always used the AOSP broswer but Chrome has been performing pretty well so far on my Nexus 5. the only thing I really miss right now is Flash support.
I've used Naked on my N7 for a year or so, and works just as fast (faster) on my N5.
Chrome definitely isn't as fluid on the N5 as could be. Which is a real shame because it seems almost out of place, everything else on the N5 is silky smooth, then you open the browser, scroll around and pinch zoom. It feels a little choppy, like everything else is operating at 60fps but the browser is at 15-20fps is the best example I could give.
For those who say it's smooth, go browse the web on an iPhone 5 with Safari or the stock browser on an LG G2. I've used many phones and those two stand out to me as being the absolute benchmark in smoothness.
I think Dophin with Jetpack will be the best browser for the N5 once it becomes fully compatible.
Next browser is also awesome but like someone already stated, the top part of web pages are hidden an cannot be accessed. Probably not fully Kit Kat compatible yet.

I agree even myself.
I have absolutely no issues with chrome.
It runs silky smooth at 60fps on my phone like any other browser.
Personally I don't use it though because It does not support flash player which is useful.

Chrome beta is usable..... The other one is crap and...in general any other browser is miles away from AOSP browser
I'm so disappointed by chrome , I've been using it for quite a while ,it was unusable on my galaxy nexus ,then it got almost OK on the nexus 4 and now I have my nexus 5 and the performance is still poor , the scrolling is not smooth , its choppy ,sometimes the websites stop responding , the app feels ... Heavy
Ive been using Firefox for a few months and although the scrolling is noticeably better than chrome's it still has its issues , sometimes the text looks blurry and until it fixes itself you can't click on links on the browser , I attached a picture so you guys can see , pay attention to the "next page"button (on the bottom with the rest background ) ,it became unclickable , Firefox crashes sometimes too .
To make things even worse the aosp browser which performance was light years ahead of Chrome's now shares Chrome's poor performance because Google made some changes and now it uses the chromium engine
I don't know what to do ,I become so upset when I use the browser on iOS /windows phone , I love kit Kat but seriously Google make chrome on android just as good as chrome on desktop :banghead:

I'm giving chrome beta a chance , maybe it's placebo effect but I feel it is a bit more responsive than the stable version , something I don't understand is why does the browser refreshes every time I switch to another app and then come back to the browser , it doesn't even remember my scrolling position ,very annoying , I don't understand 2 GB should be enough to keep the browser in memory :/
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Use Next browser, been using it since I got the Nexus, works really well and the start screen looks really professional, you can open it up and google search something straight away, really handy
Try Dolphin
I have tried various browsers including Chrome, Opera, Opera Mini, and Maxthon, but settled on Dolphin on my One S and, now that they've fixed some KitKat bugs, on the Nexus 5.
Dolphin is fast and smooth (ver. 10.2.1) although the UI is a bit awkward. Not as bad as Chrome's though. Unfortunately Dolphin doesn't even have a way to import bookmarks from other Dolphins on the same device. Nevertheless, it does seem very good, and much better than Chrome.

UPDATE: I take it all back; I accepted an update for Jetpack and now none of the Dolphin browsers I have--Dolphin, Dolphin Beta, Jetpack--will play html or flash videos. I am trying UC Browser which is really fast, even compared to Dolphin, but doesn't seem to respond automatically to links from other apps--e.g., google's gmail app or the google search app that came on the N5; you have to copy and paste the url manually into the browser. Obviously unacceptable.

Hi,
I've noticed that some apps run very smooth, but others can lag for no reason.
For example Play Store. When you open Play Store and start scrolling to the bottom of the home screen (lets say 3-4 rows of apps per swipe down) it lags a lot. It's nowhere close to being smooth. Even when you're at the bottom so everything has loaded, it still isn't smooth when scrolling up and down using normal scroll speed.
Reddit is Fun is also an app that has lots of lag / stutters for me.
Does anyone else experience this?

no. i haven't yet experienced any (major) lag in any app (have Play Store obviously and Reddit is Fun installed).. currently on 1.13.401.1.. also as some apps are smooth for you and others not, i would say blame the apps, but lag and smoothness are such subjective terms that I can only say I don't see any lag.

Thanks for your reply.
It's strange to me that the top of the line hardware can't even manage to make scrolling a default app like Play Store feel smooth. Even when viewing text comments within the Reddit is Fun app isn't always smooth. That's just scrolling text, not even loading images.
I guess I have to deal with it then. I expected more for this price range.
It's not the device. It's just poorly written apps. Compare for instance Facebook app and metal on older devices. They do the same thing but the experience is night and day. This a fairly new device so updates will come but playstore always stutters no matter the phone. It's been like that for years and I tried maaaaany devices
yes it has absolutely nothing to do with the hardware/device. like @mlodykaras said, it just poor coding.
Okay thanks for all your feedback guys!
Let's hope Google will learn how to write applications for Android correctly :silly:
Well to come back to this. The lag is just insane, there's no other way to put it. When I compare scrolling through the same text with my old Lenovo K3 Note, the U11 lags and stutters all the time while the Lenovo K3 Note doesn't stutter at all. That's just scrolling through text!
I've noticed that if you change the Interactive governor to Performance, the U11 doesn't lag anymore. But this isn't great for the CPU and for battery life of course.
Video 1 shows a 1080p 60fps Twitch stream. You can notice there are some spikes and overall it's close to the green line.
Video 2 shows the same 1080p 60fps Twitch stream. You can notice there are no spikes and overall it's not even close to the green line.
Video 3 shows the same comment thread in Reddit is Fun. I start by using the Performance governor and you can see me switch to the Interactive governor a little later. It's clear there are a ton of spikes using Interactive.
This really shouldn't be happening on such an expensive device.
I've even reverted back to stock using RUU, fresh install no restoring done. Same issues.
I have also noticed few apps other than play store. I am from India and some apps like BookMyShow & Inbox from Gmail stutters and there are always some frame drops. I tested BookMyShow in One plus 5, it runs very smoothly. Idk why it is like this and whether it'll be corrected or not.
My old debloated Galaxy S6 had smoother scrolling in apps in comparison with HTC10 and U11. HTC should adjust some kernel settings ot OS to fix this, it is very annoying. I really hope it will be fixed with Oreo update.

I don't think it would get fixed with oreo update as its not something that requires an overall new version of android.
Had it supposed to be changed, it would've changed by HTC in those 2-3 updates came out till now after the launch.
Problem with HTC is they do not take or even consider feedbacks unless there is some major major glitch.
For HTC this scrolling stutter and overblown of highlights and light sources in camera is just minor issues and they don't care about it.
On the other hand, there is google which takes every feedback seriously and tries to improve the Pixels on the software level as much as the software can.
