i know it doesnt pertain to us with the thunderbolt now, but skyraider 4.0 was released today and it signals the first time ive truely missed my Dinc. I know that cm7 will eventually make its way to us and be better but skyraider came from a great dev that is did not make the jump to this phone. oh well.
Still have my DINC sitting here, might have to flash it and check out the new rom. Hopefully it will distract me from the CM7 thread for my T Bolt.
yeah my brother got mine so im s.o.l
Yea I rocked skyraider when I had the incredible, a great rom is Perfect Storm. The only thing I found comparable to sky.

Droid, Milestone, Eris, Moment, Spica, even the Hero, all have had their Eclair, one way or another. G1 and myTouch 3G? Not so much. But don't worry, Android early adopters, because Cyanogen's got your back. Most all the bells, whistles and hardware-accelerated graphics of Android 2.1 are coming to the HTC Dream, Magic and Sapphire in CyanogenMod 5.0.7, and you can see a video of a T-Mobile G1 running the new build after the break. Twitter buzz indicates the ROM will be out any minute now; the dev himself tweeted that it's ready to go and just needs G1-friendly bite size packaging.
There is video also.

Update: Don't stay up all night waiting -- Cyanogen says he's got "two more bugs to kill" and is "hoping for a test1 public beta tomorrow night."
Sweet this is really gonna annoy my bro xD he's been banging on about his nexus and how much it cost and how great 2.1 is
what about 32A?
this looks great!!!!...cannot wait for this to come out. I have tried some other various ports of the 2.1 they all seemed very choopy and needed alot more work... I am a very busy guy that needs stuff to work when I tap the screen to make it work, Cant wait around for things to happen....Cyanogen's build looks very smooth and responds very well....when will we know when it gets released?
For the latest news, including the release (which should be tonight according to cyanogen) you can keep an eye on twitter(DOT)com/cyanogen
I haven't really looked forward to the release of a ROM in a while. If what Cyanogen is saying in his Twitter is all correct (everything working with 2.1), then this one is the one.

I totally agree with you on this one.....I was having a hard time putting the latest super D rom back onto my G1 after flashing one of the other 2.1 ports...so I am now currently running [ROM]TheOfficial DONUT TMO, ADP & AOSP (dream/magic)(EBI0/EBI1) [3/17/2010] -- v2.6.3 (which is also found here btw) with the Buuf theme...it is an alright ROM but this 2.1 port that Mr. Cyanogen released with help with other various "modders"....it looks great...flashin it as I am typing (YAY)
THANX TO ALL MODDERS INVOLVED WITH THIS BUILD
just a quick thought....i just finished flashing this rom to my G1 and I was thinking that it would be cool to add the nexus "X" boot screen that would cross over into the cyanogen symbol....would try to make it myself but I do not have the slightest clue on how to do that!!
Just to let everyone know the rom is up and running great. I got it on my mt3g 32B. Only thing is that the LED notification light is purple. Could anyone please tell me how to change it. thanks.
Does this work with the mytouch 1.2 with 3.5 jack? I am new to this and hoping to get some help. I just want to make sure I got this right.
1. Backup my phone. What do I use to do this?
2. Root my phone.
3. Flash phone with new rom.
If anyone could point me in the right direction on how to flash a phone I would appreciate it. Thanks

yes i know that I am quoting one of my previous posts but....THIS ROM IS F-IN AWESOME
GREAT JOB MODDERS!!!!!
To keep things short and simple-I'm new to the smart phone world. Up until last Monday I had a LG Rumor for the past two years(Very simple Qwerty texting phone) I just upgraded to an EVO and since then I have:
-Rooted using both UnrEVOked and toasts method(brothers phone and my phone)
-Flashed CM6 w/snap7.6&Turbo
-Flashed Myns Warm TwoPointTwo w/Kings CF 11
The possibilities are honestly overwhelming, but I guess ultimately, I want a ROM/theme/launcher/kernel that is pretty flashy looking that performs well and is pretty snappy. Something that is simple yet elegant.
I was checking out some of the home screens on the "post your home screens" thread and some of those are awesome looking.
Can someone recommend something for me?
Or just a good way to spice my CM6 ROM up that I currrently have to fit my criteria.
Just a few recommendations guys?
My story is simular too yours except I had a rant...I have no idea what cmd means or which one I have but I know I rooted with unrEVOked...

I also just rooted. CM6 was a little too...finicky I guess for me. Cyanogen is a beast, but I felt like the ROM was more for developers who wanted to do their own thing with it (on top of the fact that because of the nightlies, it never really felt complete). I've also tried DamageControl and Fresh which were both VERY customzable, yet ended up with Warm TwoPointTwo...And I don't think I'm going back (it's by far the most functional on top of the fact that my battery life is borderline ridiculous...)
Check out MattedBlues for CM6: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768848
Try Ziggy's kernel (10/25 build?)...I'm super impressed with it. Stared at the battery while it sat at 77% through two quadrant benchmarks and browsing....and texting.
I've had the G1, MyTouch 3G, Incredible, Droid X, Nexus S, G2, Thunderbolt, and now the Charge --- and by far, the Charge has the ugliest built-in theme (brown/orange) I have ever seen on any phone and not to mention the tons of Verizon/Samsung bloatware, though the latter can be fixed by rooting it.
Don't get me wrong - I love my DC for a ton of reasons and am holding on to it, but I am desperately hoping there will be some form Gingerbread (preferably CM7) that remains as close as possible to stock anytime soon. Anyone know if something like this is in the works?

while anything is possible...and im not saying this to be a jerk, just a realist...its extremely unlikely the charge will ever see an extremely functional cm7 or aosp
its taken months for the fascinate to have anything resembling working aosp and even now there are issues (mms, camcorder) that may never be worked out due to samsungs incomplete/lousy source
through lte/cdma hybrid ril in there, and the lack of devs who worked on aosp for the fasciante...and thats just a death sentence really for aosp
now im pretty certain this phone will get gingerbread from samsung/verizon...i mean 1. its in the droid line which means something and 2. its brand new now and id find it hard to see it not get it
when that is? who knows...but theres that to look forward to at some point
I see your point and you're exactly right, especially when the GS2 may be here in about 2~4 months. Well what ever the dev can work out for us I'll welcome it. All I need is a super clean ROM and voodoo on the Charge lol
Hey I can dream right?

it looks like imnuts is getting closer to his goal to buy a charge....so im sure you ll have ext4 kernels, and clean roms soon enough
Just got a Charge for my daughter. Nice phone. May finally upgrade my CM7 OG Droid, but haven't made up my mind. Still kinda waiting on SGS2. I would love to be able to put a stock ROM on her phone though. The bloat is amazing.
Hello Evo users. I've gotten my hands on an Evo and I want to port my Thunderbolt themes over as I know there has been a lot of people wanting them. However, I don't track the Evo ROM's as I've had no reason to. What I need to know is what's the best, most stable Sense based ROM's to build of off. I need Froyo and Gingerbread ones. I want to get a feel of what the most popular ones are so I can use that as a starting point.
If you are unfamiliar with my themes, click on the links in my sig to see them.
Thanks.

use anything by myn(warm2.2(froyo),synergy(gb 2.1+3.0)
deleted
double post
Synergy is currently RC2, release candidates are not exactly stable by definition.
Synergy and MikG. Both roms are extremely stable and both have a pretty large user base. My only problem with MikG is that there are hardly any decent themes for it. Synergy has themes like PlurStarAlpha which is absolutely beautiful, but it would be nice to have more options
Evokings kingdom is a bad ass ROM
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Synergy is the way to go
I curious to which rom you use?
I tried synergy rc1.
The burst, plur star alpha is gorgeous.
I kept running out of internal memory, until the phone crawled to a halt.
I m currently using MikG 2.3
200mb after install Eventually I got curious and jealous that synergy seemed to get all the good mods and themes.
The burst plural alpha star theme does work for mikG..2.3.
mikmik did say to delete the .dex from the synergy burst theme apk...
I wasn't to sure how to do this so I installed anyways
The only thing that didn't work was the stock internet browser.
So I have been trying miren and maxthon.
4G,
Wi fi
Txt
mms
Gmail
Gps
Market
All work
Battery life is the same
No slow down, or quirks yet.
If you decide to try the burst theme on mikG, nandroid , wipe cache, and dalvic.
Good luck.

You have missed the point of this thread, lol. I don't use any ROM's on the Evo. In fact, I haven't even rooted the phone yet. And I won't be using any themes that are already posted as I'm porting over my own themes from the Thunderbolt. The purpose of this thread is to solicit ROM referrals to build my themes on.
Ive tried the top 2 that most mention and i use MikG 2.2
MikG is solid as it comes...
Hey ZHP it's great to have you in the Evo threads now! For Gingerbread I suggest you use Synergy regardless of the RC status, it's still stable as hell! As far as the Froyo goes... don't waste your time. We have Gingerbread OTAs so I don't THINK anyone still uses them :/
O yeah and PLEASE do the Sense Squared theme first! I have been following Team BAMF on the TB threads for a while and fell in love with that theme.
Im thinking about trading my Droid incredible 2 for a charge, and i'm only looking in the development threads right now. Are there any new ROMs on the horizon? Or any latest news i can be informed of?

Well gummycharged 2.0 is currently in the works and from the previews we've seen it looks pretty good. I don't know much about the other froyo ROMs and I haven't messed with GB yet. But development is still going strong for the charge.
The developer community for the Charge is likely smaller, so the number of available ROMs is lower compared to the Inc2. However, what is available is pretty good for being all based on the stock software. AOSP based ROMs will come in due time, but again, given the small developer community, it may take some time.
Darkslide charged is suppose to be coming soon! it will be GB.
Appreciate guys. I almost assumed it was a smaller Dev. community but that doesnt make it any less good to everyone, Everyone on the DINC2 forums were great, and im hoping to join this. Im no Dev, but i still would like to give something back to help anyone out there as best as i can

OMFGB/OMGB & CM7 are coming to the Charge but it's rumored to be a long ways away. Gummycharged 2.0 is looking great and Team Gummycharged keeps growing. As of now the best ROMs out are Gummy/Humble/Eclipse, my personal favorite being Eclipse.
If u have lte its probably worth the trade...otherwise.

Yeah, 4G Area over here
Once you go 4g you don't go back.
I thought that was black...
anyways
Yeah the gummycharged roms are very solid. 2.0 will be amazing. 1.9rc2.3 is a gingy build and is already rock solid.
AOSP will be great once we get it. I heard it is partially samsung's fault for making their phones so hard to port from one to another or we would have had it a long time ago with the dev community on the fascinate.
As long as kejar doesn't go anywhere, we will be good lol. He is a mastermind.
