Everytime I open Rom Manager it tells me there is an udate available for ClockworkMod Recovery. It shows in market that I have latest version of Rom Manager.
Any Ideas ???

Rom manager is different than the actual recovery part. Rom manager is the app interface to clockwork recovery.
The two are separate but related.

Open ROM Mgr and at the top of it where it lists CWM and its version, touch there to update.

I put the PG58IMG on my root SD card and run the update, reboot and it is just android recovery. I tried to reinstall revolution but it says my device isn't supported. Why won't Clockwork install?

Don't bother with that anymore.
Download Rom manager from the market and flash from there. It now supports Sensation and is much easier.
didn't work

What does the bootloader screen lock like?
Has revolutionary really put your device S-OFF??
(cause once it worked it should not come back with "device not supported")
Where have you downloaded PG58IMG and which version should it be?

Go to settings, apps and clear data of SU. I had the same. SU app was screwed and it seemed I had no root access.
Then run Rom manager and install latest recovery.
I've noticed people mentioning running CWM Recovery 5.5.0.x on their i9023, however the CWM website lists 5.0.2.0 as the latest available recovery for i9023.
Where do I get these newer versions and how do I flash them?

Download from (get the crespo image for the Nexus S) and flash it with fastboot.
Start your phone in bootloader mode, connect it to your pc and run
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.2-crespo.img
for instance.
Or you can use ROM Manager and donate for the Touch-version. Then you can just flash it from there.

So... 5.0.2.0 is the latest non-touch recovery available for the nexus s?

Yes. And you can always update those with ROM Manager; even the free version.

That I know. However I have the premium version of Rom Manager but it won't let me flash the touch recovery. It says "error while downloading from server" and that I might not have an internet connection and/or sufficient space on my SD card.

Indeed, they want you to pay again to be able to use the Touch Recovery with ROM Manager, although you can install it manually with fastboot for free. I'm wondering if that will change in the future, because it seems logical to me that the development of the regular CWM will end in a while, and the Touch Recovery will become the default.
Maybe the licenses for ROM Manager Premium will increase in price; we'll see.

I was running Clockworkmod 5.x.x.x under ICS and everything was great. I have since moved up to JellyBean 4.1.1 on my Nexus S 4G and the Rom image included Clockworkmod 6.x.x.x. Whenever i use Rom Manager to create a backup and it goes to recovery Clockworkmod 6 has errors and stops. I can still run the Backup while in recovery but not from Rom Manager. The error says something about E: not available.......etc..
So the question is: Is it Rom Manager or ClockworkMod or JellyBean causing the issues?
Is it possible to go back to clockworkmod 5? If so how?
Thanks

The biggest thing I like is the ability to name the backup before it starts. Doing it through recovery means I have to rename it after its done. Too picky I guess.
Rom Manager just did an update and now everything is working again under JellyBean 4.1.1 and ClockworkMod 6.0.1.0
I have 2 Recovery on my S3 and I don't know how that happen, I thought when you flash a recovery it would replace the existing one, this is the first time I see 2 Recovery on an Android phone.
I rooted my S3 using CASUAL 1-click method, is it possible that CASUAL flashed 2 recoveries? Anyway, I can use ROM Manager to switch the default recovery but I would really to have just 1 Recovery on the phone. How dow I remove one of them?
Thanks
You don't have 2. Its impossible. When you tell it to reboot to recovery, which none comes up?

That is what I thought, maybe I have the wrong intepretation of this ROM Manager tool then. In the attached screenshot it says I have both CWM and TWAP already installed... What does it actually mean?
BTW, as of what recovery comes up when I reboot it to recovery, it depends on what I default it to in ROM Manager.
My guess would be that you have TWRP as the actual recovery, but also have the CWM app installed. If so, uninstall it. I would also download goo manager and have it install the latest TWRP

It depends on which recovery it's set as default before I uninstall ROM Manager. If it's set to twrp before I uninstall the app, it would boot to twrp and vice versa.

The ROM manager is overwriting the recovery when you tell it to reboot into recovery. That's why you can boot to which ever one you want. You definitely don't have 2 different recoveries on you recovery partition. Hope that makes sense.

When I looked in ROM Manager it did state Twrp was the recovery but stil booted in to CWM - now I have removed ROM Manager I cant check :/
I have also just checked for CWM APP, and that is NOT installed
Can anyone help please - thanks

Head to your phone's respective forum (carrier or international) and post a question in the Q/A section. You have a popular device so someone undoubtedly will help you there and provide you whatever file you may need.

Rom Manager is not saying you have both installed. That is a configuration screen. It is saying, do you want to install CWM OR do you have CWM or TWRP already installed?

You do know that you can flash CM11 in TWRP so long as you have TWRP 2.6.3.1, right?

Now I can install the CM11 with TWRP 2.6.3.3 but with 2.6.3.2 but simply failed. Thank you!
Anyway, why is it so hard to uninstall TWRP?

The Verizon S3 does not have TWRP 2.6.3.2 (or 2.6.3.3), which device are you on? The way to uninstall TWRP is to install the latest CWM via Rom Manager or by downloading the img and flashing it in something like Flashify.

Hey guys it' sbeen a while since I've updated my CWM Touch. I am on v6.0.2.3 and would like to v6.0.4.3. I tried using Rom Manager but I keep getting the server error. I downloaded the IMG file from ClockworkMods website, but do not know how to install/flash it to the phone.

You can use the EZ Recovery app https://play.google.com/store/apps...oogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=ez+recovery and then use the custom option to browse for your downloaded recovery image. Let me know if you still have questions.

Or just pick up the zip file and flash it via your current custom recovery. I go between CWM and TWRP all the time.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I didn't even know there were apps on the market to do this. I ended up going with Flashify and it worked perfectly!
