[Q] Can't reinstall Clockwork Recovery. - HTC Sensation

I put the PG58IMG on my root SD card and run the update, reboot and it is just android recovery. I tried to reinstall revolution but it says my device isn't supported. Why won't Clockwork install?

Don't bother with that anymore.
Download Rom manager from the market and flash from there. It now supports Sensation and is much easier.

didn't work

What does the bootloader screen lock like?
Has revolutionary really put your device S-OFF??
(cause once it worked it should not come back with "device not supported")
Where have you downloaded PG58IMG and which version should it be?

Go to settings, apps and clear data of SU. I had the same. SU app was screwed and it seemed I had no root access.
Then run Rom manager and install latest recovery.

Put the zip file on the root of your sdcard power the phone off hold volume down and power it will boot to bootloader then it will search for the file once it finds it it should ask you to hit up I think to apply and once its done reboot it....bootloader and recovery are different

I had the same problem at first try to use a different sd card. Make sure its a blank card and format it using the phone or your computer, then put the file on the card and try to load it in the bootloader.

Your going to lol when you figure out why you can't flash the zip. Recovery doesn't like spaces in your path(s). */ruu image/*
You need to remove the space. Example: */ruuimage/* or */ruu_image/* or */ruu-image/*
Something to this effect will fix the issue

I also forgot and it should have been listed I think you have to be on a sense rom in order for bootloader to load the file it should only be nammed pc06img.zip on the root of your sd card and bootloader should automatically do its thing, newkidds ruu don't get "flashed"

steps
1. rename zip to PC06IMG.zip
2. put on ROOT of sdcard (not in any folder)
3. power off phone
4. power on phone while holding vol. down
5. Once bootloader comes up (white screen with green/black/red text) it will initialize the sequence and automatically flash the zip. YOU DO NOT FLASH THIS ZIP IN RECOVERY
it says model id incorrect and when all of the image names pops up when it reads the sd card all of them say PG not PC so i switch it and when try and load it thats what it says?
is the image wrong ?
does anyone have the right image?
thanks again

I turned phone off and the orange LED is normal just like before S-OFF
NEW clockwork v4.0.1.5 IS in the Sensation S-off guide, you can download pg58img.zip from there
reboot into botloader, let it flash and it wil auto install the new recovery for you.
OP maybe you could put that in post 1 too

If I were you I would make sure I am running a custom ROM (this will be rooted properly). If you already are, backup up all your files, do a super wipe, and try installing another custom ROM.
Also make sure your WiFi is turned on whenever using ROM manager.

Thanks for the thread. I just went into RM and asked to flash the current recovery and that prompted me to choose the phone to flash and only the HTC Sensation was listed so that was easy peasy. I hit that, let RM flash the current recovery and during that the SU asked for root permission which I granted of course (this with the window to choose the phone was still up). When I noticed the background bar on top was done, I hit HTC Sensation in the pop up window again and it gave me a successful message.
I am now backing up my current ROM now (CoreDroid).

[Q] ICS 4.0.3 ROM Manager Problem

I followed the guide on General forum to flash ICS 4.0.3 stock but my ROM Manager Premium isn't working properly.
Flash ClockworkMod, Reboot into Recovery works fine. It seems like everything else works too........
BUT Fix Permission. When I try to run it, it says 'An error occured while attemping to run privileged commands!'
Titanium Back Pro has green check marks on everything including Root access.
SuperUser and other apps that needs root access seems to work fine.
I downloaded Root Checker Basic and it says that my Nexus S is rooted.
Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper has all check marked as well.
Fix permission works fine on CWM recovery and I see CWM recovery when I reboot in recovery, not stock recovery.
Could anyone help me out with this problem... Thank you!
Just tried and same thing....not sure rom manager might need to be updated

Which phone are u using? Did u obtain root? Do you have recovery installed?
If you do, I recommend you to use recovery to flash the rom.
I am using the droid 3 and yes I have root access. And im not sure about the. Recovery I am new to this stuff. I do have something called clockwork recovery. I even tried using rom toolbox an rom manager. But for some reason after I download a rom from either app it will ask if I want to boot into recovery I will push ok but it just reboots my phone shouldn't it boot me into recover?
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App
If you have Clockwork, then you have recovery installed.
I've never use rom manager, instead, I BOOT into recovery and flash everything from there.
If you don't know how to boot into it, download this app:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.siriusapplications.quickboot&hl=en
Then choose recovery. You MUST put the rom in the root of your SD card to flash it, not inside a folder.
What does that mean root of your sd card I haven't read about what that is or how to do that?
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App
The issue is your using a recovery that doesn't allow for non official signed roms to be flashed.

New too custom time on sensation. Bit of help please

Right 1st off I have been looking into this for a few weeks now and have searched but I just want to be sure before I do actually do anything and potentially damage my phone. Also I did used to flash custom rims on my desire so I'm not completely new to this but am by no means a pro at it.
I have s-off using revolutionary but that's as far as I've gone and I didn't install custom recovery due to wanting to install the official ics update which is what I'm running now.
1st question is are there any preferred recoveries? I know on my desire there were a few to choose from which could affect being able to install certain Roms and also are there any issues using recovery now that I've update to ics?
2nd how would I go about flashing it? I read about downloading it to root of sd and flashing from stock recovery.
3rd I've seen that I apparently don't need root as a custom Rom comes pre rooted?
4th will the whole flashin a Rom proceedure be the same as what I'm used to e.g. boot into recovery backup current rom, wipe when needs then flash Rom and reboot. Also I've read about a super wipe what is this?
I think ill he ok with all this but I love this phone and don't want to cause any damage to it.
Any help would be appreciated. Thankyou

1. CWM or 4ext. Many prefer 4ext for the touch interface and additional options. You can download an updater for this from market, it will install it for you.
2. CWM Recovery can be flashed via the boot loader, it's exactly like updating the boot loader on your desire. You will also use this method to update your firmware - this is different to desire, it updates various parts including radio.
3&4 yes the same!

I would suggest 4EXT touch for recovery over ClockworkMod. There has been numerous reported cases in XDA threads with ROM installation issues using CWM. I myself have had issues with CWM and only recently changed to 4EXT recovery.
As for superwipe, have a look at this link.

Thank for all your help guys. Ok so looks like ext4 is the way to go but how do I go about installing it? I am not not rooted yet only have s-off.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda premium
You cannot root if you don't install a custom recovery first.
You can download 4EXT recovery in PG58IMG from Here
Rename it only PG58IMG and put on the root of your sd card.
Reboot to bootloader (volume down + power button), at prompt if you want to update, say yes by pushing volume up.
let do its things and when finished push power button to reboot.
Delete PG58IMG from sd card when done (or each time you reboot bootloader it will ask to update).
Once installed, flash this zip from 4EXT recovery.
Then download from the market superuser and busybox to get root.
Hope it helps. Hit thanks if it did
thanks again for your help. just follwed as you said but when i go into bootloader it checks for file then say model id incorrect press power to reboot?

What is your model id?
you can dowload terminal emulator from market and give this command "getprop ro.mid" (without quotes). This will give your model id. Inside the PG58IMG that you downloaded ther is android-info file and there you can change the mid accordingly.
think i might of sorted it. model i.d. walk pg5813001.
just wainting on it rebooting now, delete the file then boot recovery check its worked. make a backup and flash the su file. hopefully.
yup all sorted ext4 on there now (what a great recovery)
sounds really stupid but how do you thank users on here? sorted it i wasnt signed in
