XT720 vx SE X10

Hey guys I have SE X10 rooted 2.1, and so far didn't have any problems with it.
Last days I was thinking about trading my X10 for XT720, so I have few questions for you:
1. Does it worth to trade x10 for xt720?
2. How good is camera on it?
3. Can anyone compare xt720 camera with desire, or x10, or galaxy or whatever?
4. How much battery lasts on medium use?
Any advices are welcome thanks
1. Does it worth to trade x10 for xt720?
Yes, it is worth it
2. How good is camera on it?
Very good 8 MP with Xenon Flash and smooth HD recording. And it has a lot of options for a mobile camera, it almost feels like a real camera
3. Can anyone compare xt720 camera with desire, or x10, or galaxy or whatever?
Desire is a little bit faster with games (especially the loading time when starting a game), but normal use is equivalent. I have no experience with 2.1 on X10 (only 1.6 used a few times in the store) and Galaxy.
4. How much battery lasts on medium use?
Usually with medium use, my battery in my XT720 lasts 3-5 days
@Vistaus
+1 Thanks for response .
I've read some reviews, and I'm curious about that buggy night mode on camera?
Can you upload some pictures taken with xt720 please or send via mail or whatever?
I think the XT720 has better value compared to the X10. However, compared to other newer Android phones, the XT720 underperforms.

You're right but xt720 has same processor like Galaxy S, allthough underclocked, but at the other hand offers greater battery autonomy. Amount of RAM is concerning, 256mb is realy low.
Yeah. My XT720 also likes to randomly reboot at least twice per day. It's really annoying and it makes me wish I waited a few more weeks for the Desire Z. It also runs games really slow. Angry Birds, for example, is nowhere near as smooth as it is on an iPhone.
If you can pull off the trade, do it.
The Milestone's superior IPS screen and significantly better touch performance (true 2-finger multi-touch) make it a far better phone than the X10. Also, the Milestone has fast, customized ROMs too. Plus, the CPU can be overlocked and will perform quite well.
The X10 has the WORST touch performance that I've ever used on any Android. Its LCD is so awful that blacks are barely dark gray, and contrast is extremely low. The Acer Liquid E has a higher contrast LCD, with much better blacks, although the Milestone's is among the very best on any handheld LCD.
As of right now, the XT720 cannot have customized ROMs.

It can't have a custom kernel but like the Droid and the Milestone, customized Froyo ROMs based on signed kernels are possible.

Really considering going to inspire ...from atrix

I have atrix ...its been a week ....I seen a played with the inspire at at&t and I fell in love with the screen ....what are the pros and cons on this device?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
For what seems like the 10,326th time.
Inspire: larger screen, no locked bootloader full aluminum body.
Infinitely hackable. Better than the Atrix at this point.
Pros:
Mod-ability. It is so easy to mod this device. It is already up to 1.8GHz while running CM7 Gingerbread. What will happen with this device in the future boggles the mind.
Fast. Probably the fastest single-core phone on the market right now. Especially with the mods available, and more RAM than most others. It just GOES.
The Screen. The Super-LCD blows away the Atrix display in my opinion. For instance, it can actually display yellow correctly. No Pentile subpixel assembly. The size is perfect for my relatively large hands.
Build Quality. The battery door aside (which does not bother me in the least), the solid aluminum build of the phone is the sturdiest touchscreen phone I have ever seen.
Cons:
Battery life. Without any tweaks, the active battery life can be a little low. With the proper tweaks, it'll get you through a day without a problem.
Speaker quality. It does have a quiet external speaker. There are ways around it, but it is quiet for sure.
Those are my personal pro's and con's on the Inspire 4G. I would not trade it for an Atrix.
Ill give you my observations comming from an Atrix that I used for about 4 days....
Pros of Atrix:
Dual core
HDMI out
great battery life
front facing camera
webtop ( pro for some, I see it as a gimmick)
16gb built in storage
Pros for Inspire
Huge screen (could be con for someone with small hands I suppose)
HTC sense (again could be con, but I love it)
Superior build quality
faster than atrix despite being single core
unlocked bootloader
awesome developer support
Cons for Atrix
Small Pentile screen
Moto Blur
crappy built quality very plasticy
locked bootloader
Cons for Inspire
volume and power buttons are very shallow almost seem recessed
some people experience bad battery life (I have great bat life on Android Revo 3.0, overclocked to 1.288)
single core (could cripple it a year or two from now)
only 4gb built in storage (comes with 8gb external card)
Those are my unbiased impressions, however I am an extremely happy owner of the Inspire and would choose it over the Atrix. It will satisfy me for 6months- a year, until something sparks my interest. Id love to like the Galaxy S 2, but i feel extremely let down comming from the Captivate which had terrible support, GPS issues, etc

Yes, through DLNA. No cables needed.

AGreed the Atrix GPS was flawless, No problems for me on the Inspire's GPS. I cant say its better or worse than the Atrix's, because i had no problems with either.
I used GPS on both atrix and inspire side by side for a 30 mins drive, there were no signal loss on either of them, both worked flawlessly with accurate position reporting, though Inspire bigger screen is easier to read for a GPS .
Go for it..
I recommend the Inspire over the Atrix.. I originally purchased the Atrix and was left wanting more. The Inspire is just a better phone imo.

anyone coming from an Evo to a Nexus S? Comments

I would like to know what your reactions to the Nexus S are versus the Evo. I like the idea of everything except I have concerns about the camera and the smaller screen size.
Appreciate any comments!
i had an evo before the nexus...i prefer the nexus to the evo. from factor is better for me, love the samoled display, 16m colors as opposed to the evo's 65k. i take a lot of pictures with my mobile device. i havent been disappointed with the nexus camera versus the evo. four inch screen size is almost perfect. this in turn helps the battery life when compared to the evo. smaller screen which is supposedly more efficient, i see much better battery life with the nexus than i had my evo.
plus i wanted that pure goog.
Megapixels don't mean ****. The camera on the NS4G is much better than the EVO. I came to the NS4G from the EVO and I am not disappointed one bit. The GPU in the NS4G is better than in the EVO, so the phone is so much faster. No lag, not as many bugs as with Sense and the phone is just all around better. I know the specs are similar, but believe me when I say this phone blows the EVO away. For me benchmarks don't mean anything, but I scored a 2600 on Quadrant with the NS4G. The real test is real world use and this is where the NS4G blows the EVO away. Gaming, and anything processor or GPU intensive is a better experience and the Super Amoled screen is amazing. There are things about the EVO I miss like the HDMI port and the dev support, but I love my new phone and would never turn back. At first I missed the larger screen, but now I am used to the smaller screen and may even prefer it unless the resolution was better on the bigger screen which the EVO is not. Don't get me wrong, the EVO is a great device, but IMO the NS4G is better. There are a couple other threads like this one, so read around and you will see others opinions as well.
i compared them recently...
I have had them all (Hero, Evo, Optimus, Pre, etc...)
The Nexus is nice, and fast, but build quality does not compare with the Evo (which has great build quality.) Also the Evo has better connectivity (more reliable connections, faster throughput, etc.)
If you are not concerned with weight (Nexus 4.6oz vs. Evo 6 oz) I would wait for the Evo 3d in a few weeks time. In terms of size, the Nexus is longer, but more narrow than the Evo. The Nexus is slippery, so you will probably want a case, which really makes size comparable to a bare Evo (which has rubberized back so not as much need for a case IMO.)
As to the cameras, I compared them shooting the same scene at the same time. Evo has more detail, but the Nexus has much better white balance in artificial light. Take your pick.
(The only thing I like about the Nexus more than the current Evo is the higher contrast screen.) The current Evo 4G even has far better battery life in my experience.
IMO.

HTC One X vs Samsung Galaxy s2

It seems that they are a lot of people who have come from the galaxy s2 to the one x. and I am one of those people.
This thread is to express your thoughts on which is better and for what reason.
my opinion:
s2 over the one X:
Better battery life
more Roms at the moment
Smaller (I prefer Bigger though)
AMOLED screen has better blacks
Higher resolution front facing camera
Better video recording quality in my opinion
Touchwiz seems to be lighter on the RAM and processors
most issues have being fixed via updates (lets hope this will be the case for the One X)
One X over the S2:
Bigger (depends what you like)
Higher resolution screen
Produces better whites
Better camera quality in my opinion
My device gets warm, not hot like my S2 did.
HTC Sense over Touchwiz (depends what you like)
Better build quality
quad core
I personally think better call quality.
My son had his upgrade at the weekend and went for the Galaxy S2 over the One X and loves it... i have to say I found it a tough choice but i prefer the Samsung over all as I hate HTC battery life and wifi signal generally.
Both awesome phones though!
Well i think its not fair to compare those two because they belong to different "generations".I do agree with you on both pros and cons of s2.We still have to wait for s3,then it will be true battle
Yeah I don't think you can compare the two. Have both must say one x for me is far superior. To add to your list one x
Looks and feels better in the hand.
ICS.
Better Keyboard.
LED light notification.
The only reason I would go with gs2 over the one x is simply it would far cheaper option.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk
Also, I think once you're used to HTC Sense, it is quite hard to switch to a different user interface, though I believe the SG galaxy UI is also well thought of.
I went from a SGS2 to a HTC One X. I felt the HTC was always "laggy" as if things were not being gpu accelerated. It always seem to sit on the helper core in many apps overall the experience was not as expected for such a "fast" device. My SGS2 with ICS and Gingerbread is flawless, everything is smooth. Much more so over the One X with scrolling. Other positives is the blacks are much better, motion clarity is nicer removable battery and SD card and the battery life is much better. The "back" button is also in the right place since I am right handed rather than having to stretch my thumb across the phone, it also doesn't have the issue with the 3 dots at the bottom in most apps.
The One X has a nice resolution screen and a decent camera and I do like the LED notification everything else id say the SGS2 is better for which is bizarre considering it is a phone which is over a year old.
I have just got hold of a One S since I am taking the One X back and that is a different beast. Battery life is fantastic ( 2 days of heavy usage ), blazing fast much lighter and "better" in the hand than the One X is. Unfortunately is it let down by the pentile screen but it is actually surprisingly good overall I am much happier with the One S than the One X.
The SGS2 is just a fantastic phone considering the age... I am really looking forwards to to the SGS3
There is a 'hack' somewhere for the One X, which would resolve the battery issues?
i have galaxy s2 and i love it. go for galaxy s2.
when SGS3 comes out, the price of SGS2 will definitely drop. and that's good news cause SGS2 is still pretty much a kickass phone!

Better Batt: One S or Nexus 4?

What the subject says... thanks.
Well considering the Nexus 4 runs on stock Android and the battery is 2100 maH; the One S is only 1650mAh and running Sense I'm pretty sure the Nexus 4's battery life is going to be way better.
You can't judge yet because the 4.2 version on the nexus phones is buggy as anything, not performing as well as it could.
In theory it should be the best there is (apart from the likes of the note II, MAXX etc.), S4/adreno 320 + very power efficient IPS display and a next gen 2100mAh battery with very well optimised software = great battery life.
Currently going by reviews the one S battery sounds way better at the minute, even the optimus G (with LG's software) is better!
@Vandam500
sense V4 is very well optimised with the S4 chipset etc. it shouldn't make much difference if any at all compared to the S running on stock android when it comes to battery life. Plus we don't need a huge battery as we only have a 4.3" qHD display, not a 720P 4.7"+ display like the nexus 4 etc. plus we have the most power efficient chipset there is, so there really is no need for the bigger battery especially when the battery life is already the best there is (4-5 hours spread across 1-3 days with heavy usage) aside from the likes of the note II, MAXX etc.
Although I wouldn't have minded sacrificing a few mm for a bigger battery.
EDIT:
Actually do stock based android ROMs like CM 10 etc. not have worst battery life compared to sense based ROMs?
I love the One S but I'm considering the N4 if batt is better, bigger screen, and jb. If batt is worse, then I probably will just keep my One S.

I don't know about that. I read a review that said the battery life was considerably worse than the LG Optimus G although it is a variation of the phone and that they were sort of disappointed with that. But I mean wireless charging is pretty cool and I hope it becomes standard. hehe
I believe the battery life trumps the HOX and the S3 though, not sure in comparison with the HOS though. I'm assuming the Nexus get about 12 hours with moderate use...

That was most likely due to software problems... I mean several reviews said the phone was overheating. Also, Google is constantly working on it, pushing out updates and such. By the time they release it, or shortly after (I hope not) they'll have it all fixed.
Software can have a HUGE impact on battery life, especially when they're porting it to a new cpu and everything. Having to write new drivers and all.
It'll have batter battery life than the One S, or at least the same.
