[Q] anyone know how to turn off the sd card notifications? - T-Mobile LG G2x

Every time i take a pic or add something new to the sd card it has that notification on the status bar that says media scanning or something like that.

My Vibrant did the same thing and there is a option under the settings to turn SD notifications off.

weird i cant seem to find it.

Any help?

Interference between SMS Pop up and noLED

So I've been running noLED on my Nexus S for a while now and just decided to add the app SMS Popup. The problem is that when my phone is sleeping and I get a text I no longer get the notification icon from noLED only, I also get the message pop up and the buttons on it (reply and close) stay active.
I wish that when my phone was sleeping and I got a text I only got the "notification light" from noLED and once I unlocked the screen I'd see the SMS pop up. Does anyone know of a way to reach that? Maybe another app would behave accordingly? Thanks
Under the miscellaneous setting in noled check the option to delay SMS notifications. Works great for me.
That said the pop-up won't be there when the phone is unlocked. Just for the I initial screen on.

Thanks for the tip but that doesn't really help me achieve what I want.
Maybe I could try another SMS program? (Handcent, etc) Opinions/experiences would be great.
I don't think the app matters. The way I understand it is noled will "dismiss " any popup occupying the screen in order to work.
Let me know if you find something though as its an option I'd love to have myself.

Tried Handcent, Chomp, tried even using Widget Locker and it was a no go.

Icons disappearing

Guys, Whenever I restart my HTC Sensation, icons like WhatsAPP , ebuddy and some icons turn to the default icon of an app. Its not the oringial icon.
How do i prevent this from happening?
Don't restart the phone.

Because your app stored in SD card. That's what will happen after restart phone.

Hi, everyday
Is there a way to have the apps in SD card and also have the actual icons ?
As long as you don't restart your phone, it will be fine. Maybe there is other way to solve it.

that happens to me too, lol. annoying. but i dont ever restart my phone anymore.. i use the app called fast reboot... does everything except shut the phone down
Try changing skin. I had the problem that my icons in folders changed to the market icon after restart. When I change skin (and back again to get the one I had) all icons reapear Hope this helps you!

I use Better Cut and it seems to work well. I had a similar issue with my Samsung Vibrant.

need help.

ok so i'm by no means a newb but this is driving my nuts.... how or can we even shut down the damn notification sound played when you plug the phone into a computer? i don't remember it doing this when i first got it but now every time i hook up to my comp i hear that annoying noise.
Are you referring to the ringer sounding noise?
Ah, I see what you mean...that is kind of annoying. I am thinking there is no way to do it until we have more development.
hope not cause if it is thats sucks
Go into settings under sounds and uncheck SD card notifications and see if that works

So then the work around would be to set ur phone to silent, plug it in, then take it off silent. As of right now I dont see any other way to disable it

FB Notifications Problem

I am having problems with the Facebook notifications. I can not receive any of them. Its the ROM issue, because my wife can receive notifications and her phone is not even rooted. Anyone having the same problem or know how to troubleshoot?

Its not a rom issue...if you've never signed into Facebook on a blackberry, notifications will not work! Sign onto a blackberry and you will start getting them on your android...idk why it works but it does

I just downloaded FB for the hell of it - have you gone into facebook > settings and checked "Notifications' active, then down to 'Notification ringtone' and set a tone? It was defaulted to 'Silent' on my phone.
Yeah all those are good. I just can't get the notifications on the status bar

retracted.
If u can find someone with Facebook on a blackberry, just log on and then sign off...ur notification will magically start appearing

Would u guys know anything about fonts?

@nativesmiley: Facebook push notifications will work where they show in status bar.
Here is what I did that eventually got it working -
Logged into FB on computer - In 'Account Settings' > 'Mobile Settings' - I activated my phone number.
In FB app on phone - went to Settings > 'Refresh interval' - Set it to 'Never' and Notifications set to 'Active'.
Clicked the three bars in top left corner, scrolled down to the bottom, click 'Account'. Then 'Account settings'. Then 'Security'. Enabled 'Email Login Notifications'.
You should compare these settings to your wife's phone.
I am also on Valhalla Black.
