Hello
I have a problem. Some days ago I noticed that the google apps were not syncing. So following a bad advice, I deleted the GApps data.
Now, apps like gmail or market send me to the google account creation screen. I enter my email and password, but it cannot connect. Nor with wifi neither with 3G. The rest of apps like the browser can connect normally, so it is not a connectivity problem. It just says: "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server"
Please help me, I don't know what to do.
-------------
Solved. You must delete the file:
/data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
You must:
be root
use adb, a terminal emulator or a root explorer
delete that file
reboot the phone
After rebooting the phone will reconnect properly.

A few days ago after I have root my HTC Evo and flash custom rom I have proble with market and gmail I am always got - Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server
If I log in to my account via youtube app gmail work but market say An error has occured
And now the solution is
1. Try to log in to your google account throu Google Talk app named Talk in programs.
2. If 1 solution doesn't work dial ##786# than Menu - Reset - Enter your MSL (SPC) ask carrier. Attention this will erase all your information and you have to reactivate your phone again.
Just in case someone else is still searching for an answer to this, I just wanted to say that this method did actually worked for me, after trying many other solutions. That is, activating through Google Talk instead of Google or Youtube.
I have to say that before that I deleted EVERYTHING Google related out of desperation (cache and data), uninstalled the latest market upgrade, rebooted, and then it let me use my account again, without losing any of my info.
Hope that helps.
How to fix can't establish a reliable connection to the server
Hey,
I recently changed my password of my facebook account and now my phone prompted I should re-enter my passsword.
So I reenter it but it keeps saying it's wrong. I also tried deleting it, and readding it manualy and on my PC through Windows Live but it's a no-go.
Sometimes it also says "Something went wrong".
Is anyone else experiencing issues, or is there something I can do about it?
Remove it both from the phone (built-in feature) and from your Windows Live account (may need to use the website for this). Reboot the phone, and make sure the Facebook integration really is gone (no FB chat, for example). Then, re-enable them in the usual way (add the Facebook account, try to enabled FB chat, accept the connection to your WLID, etc.)
I *think* this will work.
I did this a few times and did not solve my problem
So I have HTC explorer running on mini cm9.1.
Now every time I reboot my phone all my data including downloaded apps, contacts, messages, settings get deleted. Its just like factory reset. After rebooting if I add Google account I get the msg as browser , gallery, play store, trebuchet stopped working.
Interesting thing is it still remembers my WiFi password. How come all the data in my pbone including google account gets deleted after reboot but it remembers my wifi password?
If anybody has any solution please help me.Tired of importing contacts, adding accounts and redownloading apps.
Thank you.
I have always used ES File Explorer on my Android devices, and have never had a problem, until a few weeks ago. Now, if I try to access my PC from one of my Androids I get "Error, cannot find the server". I have rescanned from esfileexplorer, and re-edited the server info. I have checked and rechecked the static ip address, the username and password, I have entered the address as 192.168... and as smb://192.168..., it always come up as "Error, cannot find the server". At first you would think that it is something on the PC end, that something has changed, but no that is not correct. If I use "X-plore" or "Explorer" using the same IP, username and password they connect just fine, it is only ES File Explorer that does not work! I have also uninstalled and reinstalled ES, with no change in results. This occurs on all four of my android devices.
I don't think that I have overlooked anything...
Any suggestions?
Fixed: (For Now) I unshared the drive on my PC, logged out, logged back in and re shared the drive, and it is working again...
I am having the same exact problem. I tried restarting the server, changing the account password, uninstalling ES. I found that it will connect as anonymous but you cannot explore anything except public folders.....frustrating. It only started about 2 weeks ago for me.
I am using the Galaxy S6 edge on Tmobile and Windows 10. Like I said, everything worked fine until a few weeks ago. I leave the server on at all times as I use it to stream to my tv. The ONLY thing that has changed is that we did have a power outage a few weeks ago.
I have been through all of the security settings, Firewall settings, and even added a user account to see if that might be a workaround - all to no avail. Unlike others that I have seen in my googling, I cannot connect with any file explorer.
Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920V) running Android 6.0.1 as of yesterday. Before that it was Android 5.1.1. My device is not rooted.
When it was running 5.1.1 the My Files app was able to connect to Google Drive without any problems. After the update to 6.0.1 I would get a pop-up window directing me to Settings>Applications>Application Manager>Access Cloud where it instructed me to enable Storage and Contacts under the Permissions settings. Unfortunately, there are no permissions available to either select or deselect for this app, so there was nothing I could enable. I did try enabling those same permissions for the Google Drive app (for it they do exist and by default they are not enabled), but this did not help. I also cleared the cache for Access Cloud, but this did not help either.
Randomly, I just tried again, and Viola! - the much desired Google window opened asking me to grant access, which I did. Now it shows that My Files is connected, but there are no files available. Instead, the "Loading" wheel just keeps spinning.
What I wonder is:
1.) What changed to allow My Files to finally connect to Google Drive, and
2.) Why can't it actually load my files?
Disable Google 2-step verification
I believe I have found the answer to my question.
After logging into my Google Drive account and removing Access Cloud by way of the Options drop-down menu next to Access Cloud under Settings>Manage Apps. To be thorough I once again cleared the cache data for Access Cloud on my device by way of Application Manager. I then disabled the 2-step verification for my Google account (not something I recommend, but I was troubleshooting to see) and tried again to connect the My Files app to my Google Drive account. This time it worked and my files were visible within seconds. Unfortunately, turning 2-step verification back on seemed to prevent any files that had not already synced with my device from being available via My Files.
Hopefully this is helpful to anyone else who may find themselves struggling with the same issue.
Perhaps my best recommendation would be to use ES File Explorer Pro. It works brilliantly and allows you to connect multiple storage cloud services rather than only Google Drive.
