hi i know this might be a dumb question but how do i save my contacts that arnt on my sim card/that are saved on my sim card, when i flash a rom? thanks

how does it save it though do i just back it up and it will still be there after i flash my new rom? or do i need to buy the premium to save it im confused on how it will show up after i put new rom on plz help
Contacts are automatically backed up thru google. And your sim card can only hold up to 150 numbers. Anyways if your scared losing your contacts then just back up all contacts to your sd card. People > menu > import/export > export to sd and then choose what account contacts you want backed up. And to restore contacts just hit import from sd card.

Hello. My last Desire got destroyed. And now I have a new Desire. I inserted my sd memory card into the new phone, but I don't get the question if I want to restore backup.
Have I lost everything or can I extract contacts, messages etc from the sdcard manually?
So I made a back up in both Google and sd card. But I can't seem to recover them. Where exactly is the file stored?
If your contacts were all Google contacts you need only to log onto the phone with the same gmail address and they will automatically be synced back to the phone through google. I can find my contacts on my pc here https://www.google.com/contacts_v2/#contacts
If you exported your contacts to your sd card then the file should be on the root of your sd card. Depending on the type of contacts the names will be different. If phone contacts they will start with pcsc and if they are google the file will start with google. Files will have a ".vcf" suffix.

Go to the contacts apps, menu and then import / export from sdcard. It will detect your .vcf file automatically and download it to the cell.
I hav cyanogenmod rc 5.5 on my gfit
bt i dnt knw how to save new contacts in sim card in cyanogenmod
while saving new it ll shows only "save it into phone mem."

You can not add contacts directly on SIM. I add contacts in phone memory and then export to SIM with Contact2Sim or Copy to SIM Card. You find on Google Play.
You cannot directly add your contact to sim in Cyanogenmod.....
I have whatsapp in old phone with android 2.3... (rooted) with inactive sim card. I would like to transfer this account to new tablet(not rooted) w/o sim card slot. Is this posible?
