Hi guys,
Enclosed zImage with new battery driver for those who want to test and report for errors.
Testers, please read this carefully:
- this is a TEST kernel. not a public release. only for testers.
- i am not responsible if you brick your phone, use it at your own risks
Known issues:
- AVOID to charge your phone. i need further tests to be sure it is safe
- in case you still want to charge it, DO NOT USE AC CABLE. only use USB cable connected to a PC.
- the phone does not responds after android goes in sleep mode. just press the "power on" button, and wait few seconds for android to enable screen. this needs to be fixed
- if you suspect there is an issue in the percentage reporting, please compare with WinMo percentage you got first before reporting.
Thanks for your help
edit: I tested it on my phone, but could not validate if all values are OK. i continue to test!
edit2: new version that supports wifi
Android battery driver running!
Hi,
it´s working @ my Mini.
Loading via usb is working fine.
Now we need the mic.
Thanks a lot,
Andy
hi robin,GREAT JOB!
I confirm it works(I have 80% on WM and 73% on Android)..so you are close..very close
and also my phone didn't get bricked lol ,pfew
keep it going robin, you are doing great
Thank you
My mini still alive too
It was 80% in WM when I run haret, then it shows full battery while loading and after it has booted to desktop battery indicator has showed 80% (in Settings-Battery)
@tzacapaca There are 10% blocks, how have you seen 73% value? Haven't find that.
It works fine, thanks
Excellent Job Robin Thanks
I am little........., will this really cause your phone bomb or something if not same phone????
thanks guys!
i tested it on my mini, the values need fine tuning but works
but values you have under WinMo are only by step of 10%, not really accurate :/
this driver shall not bomb or crash your hd mini dont worry, but you never know:
just dont try to perform a full charge because im not sure yet phone will stops charging by itself.
also dont use android if battery is below 5%, not sure android can display low batt warning and stop device at the good time
if you plug your mini to your computer using USB, im not sure the reported values are correct
i need some time to stabilize it, it is only a test driver!

wifi doesn't work with this kernel because you do not have the right wifi module related to the kernel in your system file..

hi,
as you can see, I've got quite unusual problem with my vox.
the phone screen goes black, it blinks once the right green diode for half a second (could this be an error code?) and turns itself off. (not saving any changes made, or sms sent/recieved)
it usually happens when I make a phonecall, or browse the net, but lately it has started to happen randomly, when I browse the menu, or use any other programs.
What's interesting, is that after turning the phone back on form such a malfunction, the battery status shows it's below 20% and turns itself off again almost instantly.
The only solution I've found so far, is to wait some time, switch it on again, and pray that the battery indicator would show the state before malfunctionong. If it does, the phone could work as long as the battery remains charged (or turn itself off again, as it happens more frequently lately)
Does anybody hav some clue what could it be? malfunction of the battery, or phone itself?
I dont think it's a software issue, because just yesterday I replaced WM6.1 (drGonzo) with wm 6.5 ( the 2.1 ver by frauhottelmann)
and it still occusrs.
Same problem
Yeah i am also facing the same problem with my Vox...it is around 1.5 yrs old...and i know its battery is dying...but it happens even the battery is fully charged...
Is it really because of the battery or some hardware...
Dude its due to battery .May be you are charging your machine through USB. Your battery need replacement..It will show you full battery. Its false showy.
I faced the same. Now I happy after changing my batttery
FIrst of all check the battery mates.
Me and my friend both had the vox that with full battery charged suddenly turned off after a call...and definitely was THE BATTERY.
Now I bought a double capacity for about 10 euros shipped...and my vox stays on without intensive usage (3-4 calls of 4 min each, and about 10-15 sms for about 8 (EIGHT) days)
Try to empty the battery completely and then recharge it completely!
To really empty it, put it in boot loader and unplug the cable. Let it sit until the screen turns off. Then recharge it without turning the device on.
My phone has started doing this recently, it doesnt seem to be as bad if I put it on Aircraft mode, but it always turns off randomly after a while at least, I am going to try frauhottelmann idea now.
Also, if it works I would like to flash it to WM6.5, how can I check to see if I need the USLP? I got the phone second hand so I am not sure what the phone was originally.
Had this problem for a few weeks now. Just put it into boot loader mode to see if it works. Shall let you know later or tomorrow

Since i m facing the same problem and that now it is confirmed that it is due to battery, I wished to try FMs idea. but its now more than 2 days in bootloader, my phone is still not discharged completely. is there any other way to completely discharge the battery?
Well, seems your battery has plenty of life! LoL
BTW I suggest you to activate BT and WIFI...then run TCMP into loop and maximum volume...
the phone should run out fast...when the phone suts itself off..you could do the FM's thing just to refine the discharge.

yap, its the battery alright. facing the same issue, but the battery is warn out due to intensive charging from my car...
so, incoming new battery
actually i think i have a different kind of problem... my mobiles do not restarts instantly, the screen first fades to grey (as if the lcd is damaged with only grey and white vertical lines visible), and then to black and then it restarts. has any one faced similar problems? Can this be solved by changing the battery?
and i dont know but somehow each time i set the correct TIME in the clock, after sometime my clock slows and shows the wrong time(as in case of a wall clock with weak batteries).
any suggestions?
This method worked for me....
Switch off the phone, take out SIM..clean the sim enclosure area and insert SIM..RESTART

An easier way to turn the phone off other than having to remove and rinsert the battery if the power button does not work, is to open the Sim card door.

Hello People,
Can somebody help understand why the Battery Icon turns on Gray with a "!" in the middle of it, and in battery information, status shows Unknown for 2 minutes ?
Thanks for your help
never heard of that, check battery contacts to ensure that they're clean, ensure fast boot is off before you power down device, you'll find option in settings, power.
I'd install a battery usage application like battery monitor widget and see what it reports during these "grey" moments
Swyped from HTC Desire S using XDA Premium
Thanks I'll do that now and see if the problem persist, will monitor also the battery; maybe i'll return the phone if the problem persists.

report back with the usage figures that you get and we can see if the battery is working as expected, other wise you may be better of simply trying to get a new battery on warranty rather then send in your device and loose it for a couple of Weeks, as it could be either battery or device that is faulty

Your battery is very probably bad. Is it a genuine HTC? Stop using it if it isn't!
Battery is Genuine came with the Phone !
I'll buy one from Muggen @1800mAh
I went to Vodafone to explain the issue, but you can't talk to an Uruk'hai you know !
Anyway, I wasn't expecting any help from them, as they're sharks like the others.
Thank guys for your help, I'll try with a new battery and give a feedback...
PS : Also contacted HTC...No comment, the poorest Tech.Support I've ever had to deal with. You ask a question with details, the answer is in 4 words -> Battery out of charge. and then they closed the case.thanks HTC.
this happened to me when the battery wasn't properly inserted
Ok finally HTC support answered that the icon means OUT OF CHARGE...Or that there's a problem ))))
Anyway the problem disappeared after I uninstalled Battery Widget.
Still waiting the new battery @1800mAh
Thanks all for your support and advise.

Gray/Icon episode 5 saison 1
Hello again,
Something strange happened yesterday....I configured the power management on the phone to switch to economic mode @20%, and when the battery reached 20%, the icon appeared for 1minute again, and disappeared.
I think HTC described correctly the issue Out Of Charge, the icon appears once the battery is about to be OOC...we'll see later the results and the evolution.

I would certainly try to return just your battery under the inital warranty....and see if it continues to occur afterwards with the one that they replace it with!
I have exactly the same problem on my phone. Talked to HTC, this is what the online support told me:
James: Have you tried removing the battery?
James: I recommend that we perform a soft reset on the phone. This is done by removing the battery from the phone while it is still powered on. Leave it out for 5 minutes and then put the phone back together and switch it on.
That's not good advice, is it?
Episode 6
Hello,
Not sure it's a good idea...are you sure you talked to a HTC support agent?
Taking off the battery while the phone is on....:-S wouldn't try it.
FYI I reset the phone from the menu, the problem still persist, I don't think it's a soft issue (or maybe it is? Bug, error, or I/O misunderstood by the code?) Anyway....for the moment my phone isn't doing it since I uninstalled the battery widget, will test it again with the Mugen battery when it'll arrive, and keep you informed about the original one until then.

WOw! that is really awful advice, although at least they had you wait before re-inserting the battery......A soft reset of the phone is simply to restart it from the Power Menu!
Ouch!
To power off properly, just reboot into the boot loader and then select power down.
That's off, off.
Hi all,
I bought Xperia C last week and I am facing a serious issue with its battery.
I charge my phone from 30%-70% and it took around 2hrs (which I think is fine).
But after 70%, it shows battery level to 100% within 5-10 minutes.
I also asked this question in Sony's thread but I didn't get a solution.
What should I do?

Did you do a few charging cycles. I mean, for the battery to ''settle'' itself ; its neccesary to do a full discharge to 0% then uninterrupted charge to 100% for a few times initially.
Then ,you could force stop the ''eco controller mode'' in apps, clear data (after few charge cycles) then reboot.
This calibrates the ''stamina mode''
Hope this helps: coz it sure did to me

I keep my device always in stamina mode, and sometime enable low memory mode and leave it.
Does it make something to battery charging?
Do I really need to manually calibrate "STAMINA MODE"?
@off_TOPIC: BTW, do you guys updated your XC to latest FW 16.0.B.26?? If yes, can you tell me its advantages over previous version.

Regarding the stamina mode: I just saw that the estimated backup time as shown in stamina mode wasnt correct after charging cycles, it showed 3 hours backup time . So I had to do something. Now it seems A-Okay.Its quite possible that you may not have this problem, but regardless it would't hurt to calibrate it.
For the 2nd query, the advantages are quite slim. The volume level has gone up (a bit), the sudden battery drain from 30 to 15% is gone (somewhat) and overall the rom feels a bit zippier then before (could be placebo). But if you're having no problems in your current rom, it seems quite pointless to update it, bdw the rom is 675 MB :silly: and it bought back all the bloatware I had deleted before.
Your choice mate

I am happy with the performance, I think it is better than before.
Generally new firmwares patches the errors on the old firmware and improves performance. I suggest it to you

Dear Friend ... Seems similar to DHD's ... You know it gets this when it gets Rooted ... but anyway maybe a battery calibration would help ( it worked somehow with DHD ) ... But it should be a software problem so a ROM switch may help ... Good luck ...

I'm not an Xperia C User but my brother is so would take look at it ... I mean if anyone can boot into recovery , Then you could charge the phone for a period of time to make sure it's full then got into CWM recovery and do a wipe battery state ... You can try every calibration method available but you wont rid yourself of the ''battery bug''.
Its a bug in the rom itself that sony has yet to acknowledge. I tried every concieveable ways but the bug still exists. The battery lasts a superb 1.5 days or even two days but the moment it reaches 30-33%, I can literally see the battery level going down in front of my eyes to 13%.
The wierd thing is that at 13%, it stabilizes and works normally again
Oh Sorry to hear that ...

Oh I'm sorry to hear that they don't have CWM and in the Other hand ... as I know Rooting is a bit risky in this Device So I recommend to use one of the battery calibration ways I give you here ( tell me if they work ) :
------------------------------- first way : ( works for galaxy S2 )
1. Turn off your phone.
2. Fully Charge.
3. When getting 100% signal, unplug quickly.
4. Pull off the battery and put it anywhere.
5. Wait for 180 seconds exactly (be careful )
6. Meanwhile, take this opportunity to dust off the internal compartment.
7. Put back the battery on the right side.
8. Turn on the phone.
9. Pray the Battery god
10. ... and voilà !
11. After that, you can make some cycle of fully charge/discharge to ~15/20% TO complete the method
------------------------------ way 2 : ( works for galaxy S3 )
- Drain battery till it turns off.
- Get your USB jig and insert it on your s3
- Remove the USB jig and leave it till it turns off.
- Leave it for 5 minutes until the heats wears off
- Charge your phone for 10 minutes
- Turn it on
- Drain til 5%
- Insert USB charger and let it full charge
- Once full charge ( Green light appears )
- Remove charger and Enjoy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If non Of them worked you can try this app and it may solve your problem ... Good luck

Hello guys I'm experiencing a extrange things with my phone. I try to be clear and precise.
First of all, I have the 64 GB 1+1 with Latest BlissPop + AK Kernel + Xposed + Greenify + Amplify.
Now the issues that I´m suffering:
-I think that I have a extrange battery drain
-When I plug the phone while it´s ON for charging it, the phone it stucks at 97% or 99%, it depends on the day.
-When I plug the phone while it´s ON for charging it randomly stop and start charging, so annoying :S
-If I plug the phone while it´s OFF, I don´t see any kind of problem in the charge or at least I don´t see anything extrange
-I think that I have a huge battery drain with average use
-The screen of my phone turns ON constantly while the phone is on my desktop without any kind of notification being displayed
I don´t know how to provide logs for that issues if you can tell me I provide all that you need. Also I was thinking if that kind of issues can be related and solved flashing all again (ROM, Kernel etc)
Thanks in advance.

Are you using the original OnePlus usb cable that was supplied with the phone? Do you have Ambient Display enabled?

Hello again Heisenberg,
With ambient display off, seems like a lot of my problems are gone, the only issue that it´s still with me is that when I plug the phone while it´s ON for charging it randomly stop and start charging, if I turn the phone off, all it´s ok and the phone reach the 100% without any kind of problem.
Kind regards.

Plug your phone to the charger and leave it for a while. Press the power button,in the lock screen what does it show ? Charging or "x" minutes to charge the battery full (where x is the time, say 25 minutes, 1hr etc)
As I've noticed when "x" minutes to charge battery full appears in lock screen the device tends to charge slowly( it'll take about 15-20 to get 1%) so I remove my charger and then plug it again then It starts charging normally..
Try and see [emoji4]
Peace

Hi All,
I'm facing a weird issue with my phone from more than 2 months and it has reached a frustrated level now. It used to shut off at levels like 15%, sometimes between 15-25%. But nowadays, it shuts down automatically at 40-60% and that is really unreliable. So, i wanted to check if there are other people facing the same issue or is it only my device. Please share your views, any possible solutions, possible reasons, and if applicable, similar experiences.
thanks for the info, i got my oneplus one back in 2013, hopefully it will not shutdown after a while. i have not found such problem and hope i will not in the future as i want to have the phone for at least 5 years

I had the same issue after I updated to MM and recently after latest update also. I had to do the same thing. Reason behind that was xposed was incompatible. But as I flashed everything. (/system/data too ) now its working fine

Thanks for the details. Unfortunately, i would need some time to perform this as i barely get time to flash roms. Thanks again!

thanks so much, bought it after my nexus4 died which im still sad about because its one of my 1st real android phones after having a contract android phone.
As an update, i kept my phone on charge for straight 4-5 hours. and now it shuts down after 20-25%. Definitely an improvement. But still it's a mystery why does it show this bug in the first place.
Umm, how has no one mentioned maybe trying battery calibration!? Seems like a fairly obvious first step here to take before swapping out for a new battery.. Plug the phone in and let it charge entirely. Even at 100% in Settings > Battery it will still show "100% - Charging on AC" (or USB whatever you've got connected)
You need to wait for that to turn into "100% - Charged." Then, calibrate using any battery calibration app from the playstore, ( I use this one )
After it charges to 100% - Charged, hit "calibrate" in the app, disconnect the charger, and let it drain entirely. You might find it dying out before 0% once again, but this hopefully should have been the last time. Plug the phone in and switch it on as soon as you can while it starts to charge. Let it charge uninterruptedly to 100% - Charged, again.
Not saying this might solve it 100% but it is an option to try.

Well already tried and i may sound a bit silly, but studies have proved that battery calibration is a myth. Android automatically cleans the batterystats.bin file after every single full charge. Rest assured, i have already done that with no avail.

I had the same problem, phone was switching off @ 40% and at times @35%. Battery calibration certainly helped. No more problems now. Works well if the phone is rooted.
