Sim Contacts in Contact List

I have Faria's Pro ROM Kitchen installed right now, and I would like to know if there is a way so it doesnt show all my SIM contacts in the contact list, or at least put them all at the bottom, cause it gets annoying when you have the same name in your contact list 4 times. Is there any way to do this?
There's a regedit you can do to hide the SIM contacts:
Hide SIM contacts
Registry: HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone
Key: ShowSim (dWord)
Value: 0 = hide
1 = show

Edit ur registry to : HKCU/controlpanel/phone/showsim set the value to 0
You can try this cab, it works for me:
alright thanks, the .cab worked for me. Now is there a way to set it so that when you are setting a recipitant in a text message that the sim contacts do not come up as you type the name of the person?

Contacts Application problem

Hi, i got a "problem" with the contacts application.
It shows my SIM contacts. I have copied all SIM contacts to my device, so i can put pictures and set other information about my contacts. But now the contact application shows the SIM contacts and the DEVICE contacts..so basically i see the same contact twice.
Does any1 know how to fix this, without deleting the contacts from the SIM card ofcourse?
Thanks
no one willing to help?
See my post on contact sorting ...
I haven't tried myself, but try to set
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\ShowSIM
to 0
and let us know if it works.
edit: I checked and the value exists and is currently set to 1 (show sim contact)

Call history full of numbers and no names...

Anyone knows what I can do to update the numbers to match the contact it was assigned under? I deleted an activesync profile on my phone, and then restored it with another laptop, and now my call history is full of numbers without any names. Help? Soft resetting didn't do anything...
Try installing "Advanced Config" (www.touchxperience.com). There's a setting under 'Phone' that reads 'Call ID match'. Set this to the "last x numbers that is used in matching contact with phone number". I.e. in the netherlands we have these formats:
+31xxxxxxxxx
0xxxxxxxxx
(the last 9 are always the same), so for Holland you put this value to 9.

It's 8 for mine. But it's already defaulted to 8, and the call history is still not updated.
yeah same here, pre set to 8 but just numbers and not contacts (except for 1 call has a name)
I Have the same issue, 8 doesn't work, nor does 9....
I have altered the sample sms-numbers to have only numbers, no spaces, but still, no luck...
Does anyone have a solution yet?
Could it be that you have duplicate contacts, ie. the same numbers in 2 contacts?
Not the Cell Phone numbers, but yes on home phone number (I actually share my home phone with my wife, so that number is in two contacts, yes )
For some reason I received an sms of my wife this morning, and now I did get a name, so it appears to be a solution on new messages only... Hopefully it is now solved for all the messages...
Same issue here, although mine was caused by some messing around I was doing with the contacts.
Call history had names and numbers to begin with.
I synced the contacts with my work computer to mess with them.
I synced them back to the phone.
I backed up the contacts with PIMBackup.
I removed the option to sync contacts in ActiveSync (which removes the synced contacts from the phone).
I restored the contacts with PIMBackup.
Existing call history now only has numbers, but new calls have names.
Anyone know of a way to update the existing call history to show the names?

[Q] Caller names not showing, only numbers

Hi,
I have upgraded my HTC One X to Android 4.2.2 (stock update).
All my numbers are stored in Google contacts and I sync them on the phone. My numbers are in the form of +(country code) (Area Code) (Number) something like:
+961 X XXX XXX
When the number 0XXXXXXX calls, the number only shows not the name.
Shall I fix anything in my numbers?
Thanks
I resolved this problem by removing and re-adding my google accounts. Once the accounts were linked again, the contact names appeared on phone calls and text messages.
